Prevent flipping of selfie camera - Google Pixel 2 XL Questions & Answers

Anyone know how to do this

App Gcam Tool.

Turn it off. Go to settings, system, gestures. I'm on Android Q Beta but I thought it was there too on Pie. I could be mistaken.

Oh you want it to mirror like it does in the preview. Yeah a modded camera app would be your best bet then.

Actually, the image shown on screen is "flipped", not the other way around. Open the selfie cam and look at some printing with it. You'll see that all of the letters are backwards/mirrored.

Yes I know this but obviously prefer the image I take and not the image I see after

16:9 Aosp/stock camera mod

So whether it be on the stock camera, or the aosp camera mod, why can't we get 16:9 aspect ratio? When I'm using the aosp mod the screen is showing the camera in 16:9 so why wouldn't the picture be saved that way? Is anyone working on a tweak for this?

It looks like stock has several 16:9 settings.
3264x1836, 2084x1152 & 1280x720.

Ah Ok. I guess I have only been looking at AOSP. 4.2 Camera.
This is a dumb question I know I see a difference in megapixel count and it seems to be wider on the sides with 3264x1836 versus 3264x2448 any real benefits to either? I'd like to hear from a professional. I've also noticed hurt quality images placing my device in its side to take photos versus in portrait it throws off resolution and makes things look weird, and since taking landscape I've noticed once transferred to a computer it doesn't need rotating anymore ! Lol big kid moment

The blur/bokeh when taking a photo of an image on the television looks kind of cool.
I'm not very big on photography and have a lot to learn about the camera on this device honestly.
I just wanted it for the Quad DAC.
The photo is spider eggs, found it relevant to OPs photo.

There's an entire thread with my streaming thoughts on this phone's photography chops floating around here. Called Initial Camera Thoughts or something like that.

Dang, that's actually a really good shot. Any chance at linking the full resolution photo for me? I wanna use it for a wallpaper.
It reminds me of Bioshock for some odd reason.

Stock camera is undoubtedly superior

I use this one currently, its the one with the most working features i've found so far but still not all of them work. I have tested and found to be working, HDR, Night Shot, Time lapse, Light painting, filter (crashes but restarts with it enabled and working) and even the voice recognition saying "cheese" took a picture! Probably the biggest thing was it uses the flash correctly and dosen't take a picture after the flash has turned off like many of the other camera's I tried.
Things not working were wide aperture, portrait mode and slow mo.
Attached pictures of with and without night sight

Question GCam for Nokia G20, Mediatek G35

Is there any working Google camera for this device.
No, not yet. Maybe later when it gets developed by someone.

The night mode is much better either, as you can see
entered recovery mode with reboot 2 recovery v.5 after that the phone stopped booting. Help.

Question Gmail - double pane view:

I saw that Gmail supports double-pane view on foldables, but not sure how to get this to work on my ZFold4, any suggestions?
It's only ever worked for me in landscape mode, which is pretty lame. I tried to find a way to force it enabled in portrait a while back to no avail. Not sure if something's changed since, though.
thanks, so it does work, but not in portrait mode............ugh
I think we need to wait for an app update.
I'm still waiting for tablet (foldable) opimized support of the Google app, and I haven't seen it on my Fold 4 yet...
Just got a Gmail update. Still no double pane in portrait.
Have it in portrait mode.

Sorry, I thought you said you had it in portrait.
My mistake, it's landscape. That's what happens when your phone is almost square...sigh.
