you dont need to flash custom kernel to solve the wifi problem mentioned. as these roms are built based on butterfly or caf or any other custom kernels, you have to rearrange your lib/module files in system and vendor.
either you can replace the whole module folders by your stock or you can take the wlan.ko file from system/lib/module and replace the pront_wlan.ko file by renaming it in vendor/lib/module folder.
that should bring wifi back.

as you can see the first one is module folder from system/lib and second one from vendor/lib. when you install a custom kernel the updater script arranged the wlan.ko files so that theres only one version and thats in system/lib.
but when installing a custom rom with custom boot its already installed in system and the payloader.bin holds both system and boot image, so system folder is arranged. but it never had the chanced to arrange your vendor pertition. so in order to keep the wlan version same, you need to copy the wlan.ko from system/lib/module, rename it pronto_wlan.ko and paste/replace it in vendor/lib/module/pronto folder.

Only problem was the wifi and I managed to get it working by flashing butterfly kernel.

Can´t confirm. just tried, works for me. I also use aex latest with butterfly ov3 and magisk. Perhaps a magisk module? Try to disable you modules and retry. Or install the oc kernel...
MicroG is not part of the rom as it says in Features. Couldn't find a setting to hide the notch (like in ArrowOS). Other then that the rom is pretty good.

Yes! but it keep charging at 500ma while it should charging at 2000ma on fastcharging

I noticed some glitches with Snap Camera (stock) but with other apps everything is working fine. Snap Camera does not seem to be 100% ready yet on AEX (outdated source code).

Great rom so far. Love it. Fast and stable. Only the cam have issues bit works fine with gcam mod.

1) No one said that it is broken, it is just untested, and i won't be able to test without a secondary SIM.
2) I can't test VoLTE too since my operator doesn't support it (well in Italy no one supports it properly tbh)

If you want to avoid any possible issue, yes. BUT, it doesn't mean that you won't be able to run this ROM with the newer base, just isn't tested/recommended. Basically, do it at your own risk

Everything works correctly. However, there is still a lot of AospEx functionality.
The only thing I had to do was edit the updater-script file and delete the phone version check.
Originally, the installer stopped on this line reporting an error.

Is it possible to make this for the LG G6 us997?
testing aex 6.0...
came from v5.8 with full clean flash (internal storage as well)...
noticed things so far:
- less extension options (i.e. can't set a clock position in status bar, can't add action to navbar buttons, can't change the battery icon, etc...)
- can't turn off the low battery led blinking
- no themes as in 5.8...
- brightness slider almost doesn't change anything until around 75% and above...
- google camera app is crap (it saves pictures rotated and only in 1:1 aspect ratio no matter if i choose 4:3 or 16:9 ratio) - Bacon camera works ok... but i'd still prefer Snapdragon camera app if possible...
that's all for now and mainly cosmetic (didn't test calls and 4g yet) and i hope most of the things i've mentioned here are still in the development since this is an Alpha release

i'm having issue with bluetooth disconnecting when paired to mi band 2, sometimes bluetooth turns off/on automatically when connected to miband and after that unable to connect to band, kernel adiutor shows that g4 have 4 big cores and 2 small cores, kinda weird, can't reproduce this bug and give logcat because i restored 7.0

Too laggy and it crashes too often
Rom works fine. I have problem with Magisk. After install any app like Viper or Vanced YouTube Player I don't see them on the app list. Magisk root works perfectly. I have no idea what is wrong.
Edit: OK. I downloaded last Uninstaller and latest Magisk, reinstalled and it's OK. Everything works fine.

@aoleary Much thanks for your work releasing this Rom (and to everyone else who had a hand getting the G4 to this point). I wanted to ask you if it was possible to port the SmartPixels feature from your previous AtomicOS rom to Pie; I feel like it's tremendously helpful for the end of the day (either to limit the brightness of using the phone during the night, or while out at night unsure the next time you're going to find a charger)
As for the Rom itself, I'm currently using this on my daily driver and I've come across an Issue that I'll just mention; but can completely live without. I understand without Logs this isn't helpful, but I see this issue has already been reported and closed in the Pie Issue Github Tracker.
Camera Force Closes --> This is a problem with the PlayStore updating the Camera App. Disabling it (removing the updates) and Enabling it again fixes the camera.
Again, thank you for another wonderful Rom, I look forward to your future threads.

Rom deleted from download site?
Here are some bugs that i have found:
1. The phone freezes when making a call with Dual SIM.
2. No APN"s are shown at the sim settings.
3. It doesn't show if the Network is in 2G, 3G, or 4G Mode.
4. No Radio music over the phone speakers.

There's a setting where you can show the network icon. About the APN, you have to put the info manually.

Update: So ya, if you use the APN on AOSiP, just copy all that's in your APN so that way you can get H+/4G data going.
Other findings---> Hmmm... Also Substratum App crashes when applying a theme, Rom forced me back to Recovery. Flashed rescue zip and everything is ok. Just a heads up to avoid crash, do not enable theme: "Settings" and "Settings Suggestion.
Other Update: Even without tweaking CPU, the phone runs so much better than AOSiP by performance and battery life.
I think the main problem is that no APN is being set or displayed.
I had to go back to the Xiaomi EU Rom. I will wait till this problem gets fixed.

Yes, APNs have not automatically set for me in any ROM except the Xiaomi ones. I usually manually enter the APNs.
Finger print did not work for me. Did it work for anyone else? My hardware is 6GB/128GB.
Well that sucks. How do you suppose to use another SIM if you in another country and don't know the APN.

any ideas?
also, is there a way to install mi max stock camera as well, i found it way better for panorama photos?!

Although there's no icon to indicate traffic in data, you can manually turn in "show net activity in statisbar".

Bugs :
- Do not restore app from first setup (gapps issue)
- if no notifications on sms app, use third party app.
- if got black screen on lockscreen a workaround is to disable silents notifications on lockscreen.
- no fingerprint for fpc hardware.
- Set 1080p 60 fps/4K or 720 on camera recording. 1080 30fps cause crash (Miui camera)
- Ok Google break mic on many apps (google apps issue)

Can't seem to get WiFi to connect. No issues seeing them, just connecting is an issue.

our device have 2 diffirent fingerprint sensors , Fpc and Goodix , The goodix one works ,, the other fpc sensor is still death for now.
Anybody know if face unlock is working? Couldn't get it to run on the other 10 rom.

Yeah have done exactly that. I'll check the router settings, but it seems to be fine last I checked.

Strange, you touch the kernel or anything after that or even no working without anything flashed after that ?

No, I did not. Basically ran it clean after flashing.
Just wanted to say battery life has been crazy good for me on this rom. Thanks, and great work!

Thanks for your attention, mate. I've gotten it sorted out. It actually turned out to be the WiFi security being AES instead of TKIP. Cheers.
