after google ban - Huawei Mate 20 Questions & Answers

after we all heard about the google ban .. is there a way to convince huawei to unlock bootloader for all users for free
something like a petition or a thread that we could deliver the message for huawei

They will not, because they don't care.

well i believe if we did a petition and it was publicized by xda developers we could achieve this

At this moment it's too early, until 19th August the ban is suspended, and i think they will try to find a solution before that date, so they won't do anything until that date. If they do not find an agreement in this 90 days then there should be a chance to ask for bootloader unlocking.

[q] help please!?!?!

Hi everyone, a while ago on my old XDA account I noticed that there was a place where people posted to sell their phones. I have an android phone that I would like to sell, but I can't seem to find out where that is! It was called, wanting to sell or something like that..?

New users cannot see that forum. It is restricted to member accounts older than one year and with over 50 posts. You need 38 more posts, then you'll be able to sell your devices here next year in April 2013.
Really. Why is that? I had my old account with a couple hundred posts and I had it for 5 months and I could view that forum. I'm not sure why experience in the forum is needed to sell my phone lol.

Rules were needed to try to cut down on the amount of scams that were happening. The new rules were implemented the middle of last month. If your other account is only 5 months old then you still can't use that forum even with the other account for another 7 months.
Ohh OK thanks. When I go to the page it tells me I either need 10 posts (which I just got) or an admin needs to activate my account if I have the posts.

That's just an automated message. It lies. The new rules are listed below. Rule #7-b is the one that applies to you.

The Legal Stuff
1
The XDA-Developers.com Marketplace, also known as MP, is provided free to members with at least 8 posts at XDA-Developers.com. XDA-Developers.com, its moderators, administrators, owners, legal advisors and all other related parties do not warrant, guarantee or endorse any item offered for sale or trade on this forum.
SIMPLE ENGLISH: Trade at your own Risk. XDA-Developers is not and will not get involved in transactions whatsoever.
2
The MP is for use by private parties only, do not post commercial links (SPAM) or links to private sales taking place on other sites ie: eBay, Craigsist, etc. The MP is intended for the sale of your personal phones and/or accessories. It is not intended as a sales platform for operating a business.
SIMPLE ENGLISH: No Business links allowed. No off-site sales allowed. Personal use only
3
All transactions must take place in the public forum; use of the Private Message (PM) system to buy/sell/trade is against MP rules. Use of the PM system to convey private information, shipping address and payment details is acceptable.
SIMPLE ENGLISH: If you trade by PM how do you know the person you are buying from isn't selling the same item to 10 people? Keep all deals in the open.
4
a. XDA-Developers allows the following items to be offered for Sale/Trade:
Mobile Phones including Tablet devices and directly related Accessories ONLY.
b. we do not allow items to be offered for Sale/Trade that are stolen, thought to be stolen, or of questionable history. For the avoidance of doubt, phones with a "bad ESN" or which are network barred are NOT permitted to be on the marketplace.
SIMPLE ENGLISH: Don't sell anything but phones / accessories and ensure they are not stolen.
5
Do not send money by any means that you cannot track or recover. Sending money via Western Union is a known scamming method and although it may be necessary due to country restrictions it is not recommended.
a. XDA-Developers recommends the use of PayPal® or another secure method of transferring money.
b. XDA-Developers is not responsible for transactions gone "bad". It is YOUR responsibility to know with whom you are dealing, and YOU assume all responsibility for the transaction.
In addition, the use of PayPal gift payments is not permitted on deals conducted on XDA. Specifically relevant to sellers, but applicable to everyone in general, you must not request any additional payment to cover PayPal fees. Doing either of the above is in breach of the PayPal terms and conditions.
SIMPLE ENGLISH: Use PayPal® whenever possible. You are responsible for your own actions.
Do not use PayPal gift payments, as these offer no protection. Do not ask the buyer to cover PayPal fees.
6
By posting on the MP you agree that you have read, understand and will abide by these rules.
7
a. You may sell 5 devices per month maximum (each device must be in a new thread).
b. All current registered members will be able to use the marketplace regardless of tenure on the site or number of posts. New members will NOT be able to use the marketplace until they accrue 50 posts and one year of XDA membership.
c. If you are selling or offering to trade, you must take a photo of the phone with XDA as a backdrop on your screen with your username clearly showing
d. If you are selling, you may only sell an absolutely maximum of five devices per month, and each listing must be contained with its own thread.

[Q] Why Sharing Paid Apps That I bought Is Not Allowed

I think I have the right to share paid apps that I purchased because they became my possession
What do you think ?
Sharing paid apps is stealing the lost revenue that the "apps" developers deserve. Thus... it is considered stealing. And posting anything that is a paid app on XDA is against forum rules and will get you either A) An infraction on your account for a length of time or B) Get you banned from XDA...
How could you not think of it as stealing? Wouldn't you be upset and yell thief if you made a paid app only to find people giving out your app for free?
Think of it this way:
One person pays for an app once for $1
That one person hosts it on another site for free
10,000 people download it for free from that other site
How much money has the developer made now do you think?

Wrong. When you pay for software, you dont own it. You only own a license to use it. The original creator still owns the app.
Google has a per-person license policy, meaning you can use the same Play Store account on all your devices. But you cant share apps to other users because they have not paid the license.
Stupid thread. Redistribution of commercial software is a license infringement and known as "piracy".

Three things are here. 1. Of course its stealing, what kind of question is that. 2. Why is this thread even still open. 3. Can a MOD close this please. I dontbsee how having those thread here can be of any help to the XDA rules

is this thread for real? look up a thing called piracy
Cosmic Dan outlined the reason why (License, not actually owning the App, as well as it destroys a Developers income from something they created)
But what everybody else missed (other than reporting this post, which would have closed it a lot sooner ) are the XDA Rules:
6. Do not post warez.
If a piece of software requires you to pay to use it, then pay for it. We do not accept warez nor do we permit any member to promote or describe ways in which Warez, cracks, serial codes or other means of avoiding payment, can be obtained. This is a site of developers, i.e. the sort of people who create such software. When you cheat a software developer, you cheat us as a community

Forum to discuss trades?

Interested in wanting to trade a phone as I've done in the past, but its all changed. I don't want to just spam or anything. Is there anywhere on xda anymore to facilitate this? Swappa says the parties should communicate then follow their guidelines, but where do people communicate?

No, there is not, since we had issues with frauds/scams. You should communicate directly with the other party, I believe, when using swappa.

@thesuffering
Yes as the mighty pulser_g2, stated...you do all your communication on SWAPPA with the Member or Members you wish to trade/buy/sell with, you can log on with your XDA account on SWAPPA.
In other words you log on to SWAPPA post your trade/sell and the other Members post and you Communicate that way please see the link provided: http://swappa.com/faq/general/how_to_trade
Why do both sides have to create a listing?
Because all the questions that should be asked for each side of the trade will be answered in the listings. Only “trades” for devices that meet Swappa criteria are allowed on the site.

Samsung s9+ G9650

hello friends who can help me I have a samsung s9 sm-g9650 I can not get rid of frp to be able to access the phone version; G9650ZHU2ARD3 Who helps me remove the account
No FRP bypassing allowed on XDA
Thread closed.
FRP is done for something and we at XDA do not allow discussions to bypass such security systems. Even if it's for good reasons in the end we don't take that risk.
Please read the rules again HERE.
In particular, this one here below:
9. Don't get us into trouble.
Don't post copyrighted materials or do other things which will obviously lead to legal trouble. If you wouldn't do it on your own homepage, you probably shouldn't do it here either. This does not mean that we agree with everything that the software piracy lobby try to impose on us. It simply means that you cannot break any laws here, since we'll end up dealing with the legal hassle caused by you. Please use common sense: respect the forum, its users and those that write great code.

I'm in the same boat, and the previous owner does not let me return it saying it's my problem now. So I'm stuck with it.
What I would do is unlock the bootloader, flash magisk patched firmware, install lsposed and try one of the imei spoof / imei changer modules to see if that does anything. I don't think there is any other way to circumvent it.

Folks, let's be very careful what we are talking about here. Changing a phone's IMEI is illegal in many countries, and we do not tolerate the use of XDA to discuss illegal activities:

This is one of those gray areas. If you are talking about REPAIRING your device to restore the ORIGINAL IMEI, that is fine - but be aware that most services available to do so are not free, and we do not allow the use of XDA to promote paid services:
7. Do not sell or trade on the forums.
If you wish to advertise a product, simply contact us. We can provide ads but you are not permitted to just post it in the forums. If you do, it will be removed and you're likely to receive a ban.
The buying, selling, trading and / or exchanging of any item is now prohibited on XDA, in any forum or via Private Messages. We now use www.swappa.com

11. Don’t post with the intention of selling something.
Don’t use XDA to advertise your product or service. Proprietors of for-pay products or services, may use XDA to get feedback, provide beta access, or a free version of their product for XDA users and to offer support, but not to post with the intention of selling. This includes promoting sites similar / substantially similar to XDA-Developers.com.

So, we ask that you be mindful of these points when discussing this topic.
To recap:
Repairing a device to restore the original IMEI is OK
Changing a device's IMEI is not to be discussed on XDA
I hope this helps make things clear.
