I used many custom ROMs in my Redmi 5A (riva) like DotOS, crDriod, RR Rom etc. Everything works fine except that I cannot use two SIMs. Only the primary SIM has network coverage, other will have no network at all. I've read somewhere that I should backup modem and efs. First, I don't know what this is and second, I don't know how to backup. I've never backed up anything till now, with TWRP or any other app.
I currently use Pitchblack Recovery with stock MIUI. I want to use DotOS but cannot since both SIM card won't work together.
Can anyone please help

So I look around and finally in Chinese forum, found a method to flash Fulmics.
On Fulmics ROM 5.3, my D858HK works smoothly and the battery performance is similar to stock rom.
Everything is ok and I can use 4G. (I use one sim, two sim is not test.)
The only problem is the IMEI is lost (but I can still give and receive call) and the advance wifi in setting will force close.
I don't know whether it is work for your phone. I am not responsible for any harm to your phone , I am just sharing what I did to flash the rom.
What you need(in my case):
stock 6.0 rooted rom
TWRP(I use the unofficial twrp_3.0.2-0_d856_16-05-14)

Attention:You may lose you IMEI.

Make a whole backup of stock rooted rom in TWRP and you must backup the boot, modem, EFS and IMEI. (because if you lose the IMEI, you cannot go back to stock via KZD,TOT and LGUP.)

Ｗipe everything in TWRP. (Be careful：Don't wipe your backup)
Flash Fulmics, you just choose d855 in aroma installation.

After reboot and setting,you will find your phone cannot detect the sim card and wifi do not work.
You need to flash the dual sim v4. (please note that it is in Chinese)
If you lose your baseband and no signal, you can try to flash the modem5_6_3.
I found the dual sim v4 and modem5_6_3 in Chinese forum and they are made by @piaoxue99

I lost signal whenever I select the both status (my phone number, model no. IMEI, etc.) of sim card but it goes back normal here’s the error message “Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped”

Worked. Thanks so much. Text messages cant switch between sim cards though. No shortcut button or separate sim buttons. Have to do it manually from the status bar

Hi Folks. Can i request some assistance please? I was running Standard 4.4.2 on my device and decided to flash Resurrection Remix for N7100 onto my device. I initially loaded TWRP 2.8.7 and installed RR 5.7.2 with the appropriate "slim" gapps. Once loaded, i got the above error. I loaded TWRP 3.0 and tried again, no joy. I also tried RR 5.7.3 and still no joy. Could someone please assist as i really need to use my device.

I also faced same problem on my note 2 (N7100),
Network issue in all CM based rom (RR, AICP, Vanilla Unicorn, Temseaks and others),
other hand all kitkat rom (Eclipse and Ditto) installed perfectly but some time I faced network problem (In a day faced 3 to 4 times) until I restart the phone.
Anyone here to solve this problem and help us.

*#06# just says IMEI - no number etc
Im also having same issue.. Is it due to TWRP..? updated TWRP to 3.0.2 n flashed RR rom 5.7.2 over 5.7.0. Then No sim.. tried to flash back 5.7.0 no hlp, tried eclise v2 after full swipe.. No help so far.. Pls guide, many ppl getting into this prob i think..
Flash back to a stock rom to see if the imei returns. If it does, make sure to backup the efs folder before flashing anything else.
If the imei does not return after flashing a stock rom, you'll have to recreate the efs folder and inject the folder back to the phone.
The lack of an imei could explain the SIM card issue. You may not be able to connect to wifi either.

Used the modem file given in d link and flashed using odin 3.0.7.. After which flashed eclipse 2.. Now sim started to work.. Ll do further updates if any.. Thanks for the help guys..

mine too, after i install cm 12.1.1 when i start the phone there's no sim detected. i really need somebody to fix this problem.
With a sim card error, the first thing I would check is the imei and whether the phone is running the latest bootloader and modem.

As the title says I have a US Market ZE551ML 128GB Deluxe Special Edition phone. This is my 3rd ZenFone 2, so I'm not new to these devices. Until last week my phone was running a simple debloated stock 6.0.1 build. After reading the details of the 7.1.x Resurrection Remix-N ROM, I decided to flash it. After the ROM and GApps were installed, all went well until I popped my SIM back into SIM slot 1. In the settings it popped up as SIM2. If I put the SIM in SIM socket #2 it shows up as SIM1. I messed with it for a couple of minutes and decided I just had a bad flash. I did a complete wipe, downloaded fresh copies of the install files, and reflashed the same ROM. The same thing happened. I restored the backup I made in TWRP, same thing. At this point I freaked out a bit. I used the ASUS Flash Tool and flashed the phone back to a stock 6.0.1 build. The SIM behaves the same way. I flashed it with the stock 5.x RAW as well, no luck.
I know a lot of you will probably think, 'just leave your SIM in SIM slot 2'. No, I'm not that kind of guy. That sort of kludge will drive me a little closer to the hairy edge insanity. I want my device to work correctly.
Where are the files that define which SIM socket is labeled as 1 and 2. Maybe I can just flip them?

Hi, I am using my Z2 with deodexed 3.1.117 and earlier I was using it with stock zui 3.1.117 qpst flashed. The problem mostly occurs when I use the portable Hotspot. After turning off the Hotspot it is still shown as ON in the notifications and when I restart my phone in this condition I loose Volte. Also this problem occurs when I try to restart in case of some other network related error. And once the Volte is gone, there is no way I can get it back like restarting etc. What I need to do is to flash the modem again. I am currently using the 3.1.117 baseband. Someone please share his/her trick to get back Volte...if possible without flashing the modem
Try to start it from the"Start"
Flash qpst rom of zui 2.5.104 from your pc
Check again the portable hotspot and Volte, they'll start to work again.
Unlock the bootloaders, install latest twrp, then head towards installing any new rom you want !
( I Have followed the same trick and it worked for me pretty well !)

As I have mentioned in my post, Volte comes back after reflashing the baseband. And this problem persists from the day I received the phone from China. And it came with marshmallow rom. All I want is some trick like in some phones when we add new APN the Volte automatically gets restored. So, what I want is some trick someone know for a problem like I am facing. Thanks.

Could be persist partition problem. Search on xda for more info.

After flash official stock rom with xiaomi flash tool, flash last twrp and finaly flash Havoc 3.12, data not working....
I have check on internet for APN setting, an try lots of parameters, nothing working.....
at the end of the end, i check in my wife phone for apn settings ( she has samsung s7 edge stock rom) and i put same apn setting in my redmi note 5, and surprise, data work....
i have her sim card in my phone and it doesn't work. but in her phone the apn setting was not same.
I don't know what it is happen, because it was working well before last monday....
