No Pie update yet in Sweden for honor 8 pro - Honor 8 Pro Questions & Answers

has anyone got it ?

The pie update was recalled because of various bugs and a stable update is scheduled to release mid June according to honor forum mods

Maybe we in Europe will get it little bit sooner.I got first update like 2 weeks earlier than India and other regions. At first it was looking all good but i had bugs with touchscreen etc. When i did rolback at 8 then i saw how battery was bad on 9.Hope they will fix all that bugs before they push update again.

Guess rollout started again.I hope they fixed bugs from last one.

For battery is little bit early to comment as it is still on first charge.I dont see anything new so i guess its only bugfixes from first version.

Battery Life

How is your battery life? Please discuss here. Please use screenshots from gsam battery monitor to illustrate what your getting.
I have no idea how the real-life battery was on the G2 and Z3, although I heard it was amazing. The HTC One M9 should outperform the M8, and that's quite good already. With the S810 and still going with the 1080p screen it should be noticeably better than the M8. The battery is bigger in the M9 aswell which should bump its battery performance even more, was it like 200mah more on the M9 vs the M8? Thought it was something in that range. The fun thing i'll be looking forward to is how it compares to the S6/ Edge with its 14nm SoC and 2k display (the S-AMOLED should help with battery usage). Should be a close race I imagine
We don't know yet because the final hard- and software haven't been released yet to the public.
anybody heard about this foolishness? i dont belive it one bit

The main problem that everybody has with the overheating is the software is not complete. there running these stats illicitly on software thats not even finished.
there putting a bad taste in peoples mouth based on false information

Yes, in a literal sense, the software on the M9 that tweakers was using is not final, but the embargo was set to lift yesterday, so I think it's likely that what tweakers' reported would be reflective of the end model.

lol buts its not the end model and thats coming from HTC themselves even if an embargo is lifted its just not final why make judgements on something NOT FINAL.
wow rough day for HTC today all the reviews come out at the same time and they all say the same thing battery life is not good at all not better than the htc one m8 either

based on this article most of these reviews are based on non final software. It looks like HTC released the final software like the day of most of these reviews. So battery life will be better on this new software. Im waiting for part 2 of this article and any other reviews coming after this newest update that came out today to give a final thought of battery life.

anybody that has the phone as any gsam battery stats to post on here after a full days use would be really helpful to many people on the edge of buying this phone based on some negative reviews for battery life its been getting.

Zuk Z2 Plus on Nougat India?

Dear friends,
I'm now on Zuk Z2 Plus 2.0.133 ST (India)
And I've received new notification to update to version 2.5.104 ST (India)
I'd like to ask if it is official and not beta right? Because I've never signed up for any beta program.
As I've heard that on this version has annoying duplicate notifications bug. Is it fixed or it still exists?
Should I update it now, any other known bugs you care to share?
I dare not update if there are still a lot of bugs ongoing. I'll hold back for longer until new better version comes out.
Thank you in advance!
please don't
I have not installed beta but i would definitely say that the update is pathetic.
Phone lags, significant heating issue and battery drains like crazy. Even if i do not play games i could see the temperature spike up to 51C which is unbearable.
Lenovo has done pathetic job providing this update which is of no use at all. I wonder if its a upgrade or downgrade.
I have updated . No issues. Battery improved. Antutu bennchmark is down to 120k.

Yes AnTuTu and Geekbench scores are low on the Indian version of ZUI 2.5.
My AnTuTu score is around 60k. It's surprising to see this score on SD 820.

Besides I'm planning to unlock bootloader and flash custom ROM soon. Which ROM would you prefer? With voLTE though.

I have just ordered this phone today, will get it maybe before 8th May. After reading a lot of bad reviews on amazon, I am thinking to use it for 3 months before rooting. Redmi note 3 was final but recent deal of SD820 at ₹12000 was too tempting for me.
As far as I have read forums, Jaguar rom seems promising for battery life as well as benchmarks. Try that out

Its very temperature dependent.
Put the phone in ice water or in the freezer. Then run the test. That really boosts the test scores.

Very much true... You're right it's definitely temperature dependent..
But I ran it in normal room temperature.. like I was just scrolling through some Instagram posts.. and I thought to test benchmark.. and this is what I got... Temperature would be probably 35 to 37°C
Why would I wanna get a bucket full of ice and then run the test to post it ?
He's suggesting that it's not an actual performance improvement due to changes in the new firmware update.
At this stage in the device life cycle, I doubt they're doing any more optimizations, or even fixing any bugs.
Most likely, just a guy merging the new security patch and running some automated test suite and maybe a basic checklist to see if there's any major issues. If at all.

Note 10 Plus Android 10

Hi,
As you all know, the stable version of Android 10 has started to roll, I updated mine today and wanted to find out about the new features.
What irritated me the most is the pad which appears below the keyboard in portrait mode and can not be removed. I use gestures, so I don't have a navigation bar, and I benefit from the full length of the screen. With this new silly pad, I lose an area equal to that dedicated for the navigation bar, and for no reason!
Anyone has managed to install the update and found out about new issues?
Is any solution available for this issue?
The pad disappeared, don't ask me how because I really don't know lol

I know how!
You can disable it in navigation bar settings, select full screen gestures then there's an option for back key always there if keyboard pops up
Oh, exactly!
Man, that was really annoying
idk, i find the padding to be more comfortable for where my fingers are, but its great to have the option.
Let's see how good this android 10 is, I hope it will not be a resource-battery hog, I remenber stories back to the note 8, that when going from 7.1.1 to 8.0, the battery drain was huge (for some users) among other complaints
Sorry, but where did you get stable version of Android 10?

Glad to hear that battery does not get worse by much, do you use galaxy labs? maybe the extra optimizations it provides work better on 10 than in 9, I am using it with pie, and I can'see real improvements, but, in 10 it might just work better

Labs provides no actual new optimizations, everything that it accomplishes can already be done with the Android system as it exists now
Only releases so far
Can I install a TPA (Panama) rom on my ZTO (Brazil) device without any issue?
After two days I can say that battery life has improved, especially the Standby Drain, a slight improvement but adding that to the already good battery performance is even better.
The responsiveness of the system has improved too, it feels faster, and smoother. Transition animations look cool.
The update isn't major, but is a step forward

Id say mine has taken a step back from how it feels but cant be certain. I have been using my phone a lot BUT I have never needed to charge it before I get home unlike yesterday and today I got home with 15% battery when normally it was 35-40%.
And this exactly is my concern, these major updates always result in a mixed bag of experiences, some good, some barely perceptible, and some really bad

Test kernel for fix cpu frequency limitation.

Test kernel for fix cpu frequency limitation.
Compiled for android 10.
https://github.com/followmsi/androi...ers/soc/tegra/sysedp/sysedp_batmon_calc.c#L84
I compiled the kernel with the above changes (psy_imax = 8500000).
Not sure if other firmware will start with this. Check it out.
On my tablet at 25% there is no frequency limitation.
Use at your own risk. I am not responsible for the permanently damaged battery.

Hi Vartom. Which ROM did you test this kernel with? The latest PE + this kernel = bootloop for me. I make it to the Google logo but no further. I'll redownload just incase the file is corrupt (but that literally never happens in my experience).
Cheers!
(Edit1: redownloaded but the bootloop continued)

It boots! And my experience does match what you said: I'm hitting 1.9 GHz routinely at 50% battery and that has not been possible for a couple of years now. Thank you
I tested exFAT support (missing) and I think this is based on an older @followmsi kernel? His very latest includes that feature.

I think this kernel will make your experience better, although I wouldn't want to carelessly run intensive games or other apps with low battery %. It might work, but it might suffer a low voltage system crash. Usually harmless but it can cause data loss or corruption. Your Pixel C (and mine, and others) is trying to throttle because it does not trust the battery's health. In my case I am pretty confident the battery is stronger than my tablet believes. But I could be wrong!

Yeah, I think that my tablet is also underestimating the battery, for a refurbished by Google early 2016 model RMAed in mid 2018, the battery should have been replaced, else it is a new model, don't know but I got my tablet back in bubble wrap
Either way, we're all getting the exact same issue, and it seems LTE models aren't affected
1.9GHz would mean "HECK IT'S FASTER THAN THE SWITCH" memes...
By the way, if anyone knows the 4 cores vs 8 cores Tegra X1 controversy, and why we have only 4 showing on the C even though there's two clusters of 4 in big.LITTLE, that might be interesting, maybe the mighty @followmsi could answer this pls ?

I don't know anything about an LTE prototype but I do remember lots of confusion back then about whether the X1 ran in full 8 core mode like the SD 810 or 4 cores at a time like it actually does.
