Display differences

Has anyone noticed difference in display between few different phones (All Galaxy S6 Edge). I got my Galaxy S6 edge recently and the display looks little dull compared the M9 and the iPhone 6 I have. Especially the white doesn't seem to be white. So I went ahead to the BestBuy store and looked at the Galaxy S6 and Edge in stores. Most of them were brighter that what I have. I was wondering if getting an exchange is advisable in this case. There is nothing wrong with the phone, I just liked the display on the other Galaxy S6's in the store.
I have also tried with different calibration settings and still dull compared to others.

Samsung Galaxy S6 EDGE+ auto focus speed test

As you can see from my video on YouTube, speed of focus on my S6 EDGE+ is nothing slower than on S7 / EDGE. Video was shoot in 4K.
Tell me what you think. Do you think S6 is as fast as S7 / EDGE

Does anybody knows also what is % on Sony's sensor used in S6 Edge Plus that has to do with focus? What is the coverage for focus. I know S7 has 100% of sensor for focus.

Had the S7 now back with the best

I just finished a straight week of using the S7 edge with less then stellar results. Before the S7 I had the S6 edge + which I was very happy with but never the less I decided to try the S7 out. Fist off the battery life was less than the S6 edge + on a day to day basis. The screen was super sensitive and became a hindrance to the functionality. Browsing Web pages and scrolling through pages seemed buggy. The phone is heavy and thick, thicker than the S6 edge +. Build quality is going to the S6 edge +. S7 is a step backwards.
Galaxy S7 Edge got the best reviews. (S7 Edge exynos 8890)
I heard the Battery life is the best, 98 hours on a single charge
3G calls:- 24:29, Web browsing:- 13:32, Video play back:- 20:08
stock Samsung browser is more faster and better then Google chrome browser.
Snapdragon 820 version is not that good as Exynos model.
Galaxy S7 edge is more thick because of bigger battery.
Galaxy S6 Edge+ Plus
83 Hours on a single charge
3G talk:- 30:29
Web browsing:- 10:25
Video play back:- 13:53
yeah no need to upgrade from S6 Edge+ Plus or Note 5 or galaxy s6 or S6 edge. unless you really want waterproof, SD card slot, bigger battery.
Galaxy S6 Edge+ plus should last for another few years. get a new smart phone when Galaxy S6 edge+ Plus is on its last leg.
Actually i held this morning the S7 and S7 Edge in my hands, and i can definitely tell you that the S7 is thicker than the S7 Edge, i was surprised myself, but it actually is, and even thicker compare to the S6 that i had too.
Also, i'm following several forums and i read people talking about problems on their S7 Edge, some lags (who can be solved with update i'm sure, even if i think that it's bad to release to the public a high phone like the S7 Edge with bugs and lags... specially when you spend hundred of dollars or euros....).
There's also a problem with the camera, some people have noticed a "blue point" in their photos or video after taking them, maybe this problem concerned only a few devices but anyway it's rubbish and i'll be mad to discover something like that on my new phone...
I'm gonna stick it with my S6 Edge + for now...
About the battery, it seems that all the owners of S7 and S7 Edge are not saying the same thing, some are really happy with their battery and some people reported that the battry drain is awful, caused by "system android"....
P.S : I'm not saying that both S7 and S7 Edge are lame, far from it ! the build quality is really good, as expected for this kind of device, but it's not a justified big step forward for me to upgrade my phone and buy a S7 Edge... Anyway, i'll keep following S7 Edge thread on XDA once in a while to stay updated about improvements with futur updates from Samsung, and maybe at a point i'll buy one... But i think at this moment the NOTE 6 will almost be release...
98 hours on a single charge? Was the phone turned off? No smartphone lasts > 24 hours with actual usage.

check the link above.
Just my expireance with s7 edge nice phone but nothing really new to jump up and down about i now have a s6 edge plus feels alot better.
I have both and agree that the s6 edge+ size is better for me. The s7 being thicker is a disappointment. That being said, the sdcard, bigger battery, and water resistant make the jump more than worthwhile for me.
I seen the galaxy S7 edge in mobile shop. And galaxy s6 edge+ Plus looks better then s7 edge.
Looks wise, sexy wise, beautiful. Handsome wise s6 edge+ Plus wins.
Only if galaxy S6 edge+ plus had SD card, bigger battery, water proof in the first place.

I pity Samsung's marketing and design teams. They can't win no matter what they do.
Just root your phone, put your magic in it (extend battery life/disabled apps & services you don't need/etc.) and you'll have a great phone with the additional features the S7 gives. I have a S6 Edge+ and it wasn't that great in the beginning on stock everything. It was smooth, fast, etc. but it didn't use its full potential. After root and doing the stuff I needed to do, the phone is great in every regard. Same can be done with the S7.

How is the screen compared to Redmi Note 4?

I have been using Redmi note 4, and also a Samsung Galaxy A5 2017. For me it felt better to look at the Samsung's LCD. I don't know why, but it's just more comfortable. The Note 4 looks a bit blurry compared to the Samsung A5, and also, on the Samsung, it feels like the LCD is directly placed on the glass itself, so it looks like the glass and LCD are one, but on the Note 4 you can tell it's separate. How would you compare the Note 4 to the A2 Lite then? because good lcd is important for me
Also, the A5 has a gorilla glass, and I guess the A2 does not have and is much more fragile?\
What is your opinion?
Thanks.
My previous phone before Mi A2 Lite (daisy) was a Redmi Note 4 (mido), too.
I can't compare directly the two phones, because I already sold mido, but daisy screen seems a bit better (but it could be a placebo effect).
Three considerations:
- maybe the LCD panel in your mido is different from mine, causing different opinions
- Samsung uses OLED screens on [almost?] all of its smartphones, and OLED screens are the best at the moment
- OLED screens are expensive compared to normal LCD screen (you'll know when repairing a broken screen).

Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra PWM frequency?

I'm really interested buying Samsung Galaxy S20 ultra but prior would like to find out what is the PWM frequency?
A while back I had Samsung Galaxy S7 and I absolutely loved it but after 5 minutes of staring the screen I had a massive eye strain and headache, because PWM screen flickering.
Not sure but here is an in depth analysis of the S20 Ultra screen: http://www.displaymate.com/Galaxy_S20_ShootOut_1U.htm
Maybe that will help, good luck!
Best way to tell is use the slow motion feature of your smart phone camera. Go into the store, on the display model and put something on the screen that is bright white. Take video of the screen and make note of flicker, bars, or anything else that you see. If it looks solid white then you should not have any issues with your eyes!
I buy s20+, I want to sell it now because it causes me eye strain, this is the first time I feel this headache for a phone . i have s3,s7,s9 before. this new tech oled display is the reason
