Spigen Glas.tr Nano Liquid for GS10+ - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Accessories

Has anyone tried the Nano glass from spigen on their s10+ and confirmed the fingerprint scanner still works flawlessly? I haven't been able to find much info on it on YouTube or searching the web. Thanks

I don't know what your expectation is. Don't waste your money on it.

sure, if you are okay with that price

[Q] How is the SGP Ultra Crystal screen protector?

After careful consideration, I decided to purchase both the Case-Mate Tough & SGP Neo Hybrid cases for my liking.
Anyhow, I also wanted to decide on a screen protector. The Neo Hybrid case should come with a SGP Ultra Crystal. Reviewing the specs on the website, it seems to be the "thickest" screen protector that would offer the most robust protection. That's great! I could care less for fingerprints... I'm just paranoid that I'll damage my beautiful screen!
Anyhow, I wanted to know how good the SGP Ultra Crystal SP is? For all you that have it, is it a good SP? Coming from a Zagg InvisibleShield on my other phones, I was just worried that wet applicators could damage my $700 phone (yikes!). Thus, I wanted to stick with dry, but still also have good scratch protection. What amazed me was that the Neo Hybrid case actually COMES with that SP... so a double bonus.
I am just wondering for all those people who either have Case-Mate Tough or SGP Neo Hybrid cases (or both!) and/or use the SGP Ultra Crystal SP... (or those that JUST use the SP and another case that I have not mentioned). What are your thoughts? Is it scratch-proof? Is it safe to use? Does it peel up? Any case fitting problems either? Do you have any problems with it?
I've never used anything from SGP at all before. The only SP I've ever used was the InvisibleShield that had to be professionally installed (at a fee!) by the Zagg guys at my local malls, so I'll have to learn how to install the SGP screen protectors.
I'm not sure where you're getting the thickest cuz it certainly is the thinnest from way I've used. I had zagg and it was thick and not smooth. The sgp ultra crystal is smooth and thin and gives the estate clarity.

I´ve used a SGP crystal for my SGS1 and had it one from when i bought it and to when I gave it to my gf (it´s still on) and have been on for 1 year so far.
no straches, no air bubbles, dosnt peel. very close fit.
And I guess its the same for a SGSII, already ordered one, and waiting for it to arrive for my phone

I have the sgp ultra fine and it is amazing, the only problem I have found is that if you're looking at one solid colour, it seems to have lots of speckles over it, but that is rarely noticeable.

According to SGP's main website and their specifications, it states that the Ultra Crystal:
"25% Thicker than Previous Model, Hard coated for Scratches and Scuffs Proof, Ultimate Clarity surface hardness: 4H."
All the other models (i.e., Optics, Fine, Oleophobic) did not have this saying and also had a lower hardness (3H). Thus, I figured the Ultra Crystal would be the thickest based on these specifications and would be most protected against scratches.
I'm just really looking for people who have had or did not have problems with this SP.
good screen protector,i am using on my phone and very happy with it
Thanks for the replies and updates. A few more questions for those who are using/or had the SGP Ultra Crystal screen protector.
Any of yours staying still? Is it really tight? No peeling at all?
And also, according to the reviews, it seems some people are finding it to NOT be scratch resistant at all? Maybe they had an older version? The specs did say "25% thicker than the previous/original" which leads me to believe they may have revised it? It seems 50/50 or split between whether some people think this SP is too thin/easily scratched or not.

I have a SGP SP on my SGS2 w/ a Neo Hybrid case and it's worth it.
I got mine installed at an AT&T store. I just brought it in & asked them if they could install it for me. Everything was done perfectly in less than 10mins.

It sits perfectly still, there's no peeling at all after three months and I don't see it happening any time soon.
I don't find it scratch-prone at all either, though I don't keep it in the same pocket as my keys. Im very happy with my choice of screen protector.

Using the Ultra Crystal and have Zagg on my other phones. I certainly prefer the Ultra Crystal. It is also not thick. The Zagg feels thicker. Protects very well too.
Using the Ultra Crystal and I must say it was super easy to install. It's very clear and nice to the touch for me. Almost reminds me of my iPod's Power Support Crystal Clear screen protector, except the oil stains are way less visible on the SGP one, at least for me.
Thanks again guys for your reviews.
When did you all purchase your SGP Ultra Crystal? I am trying to decipher whether there's an older versus newer version, and what the differences are. I've e-mailed SGP and they're stating that the previous model was not as thick as the newer ones, so...
How new are these "newer" versions? I am not sure.

Well I've never seen the older version before, they always had the newer one listed this year on their site for a long time.
just purchased the ultra crystal and after 3 days of usage, there's a scratch on my protector and I don't keep my phone with my keys or coins. Not a big deal though, because the clarity of the protector is really good and the fingerprints stain aren't as bad as I expected it to be.

I'm curious as well. I've used a Zagg before, and it rarely scratches. Maybe once a year, it may get a small nick somehow and stays permanent. The Zagg guys call it a "burn" a.k.a. a super fast scratch. So I guess all screen protectors may be vulnerable to this.
Anyhow, I have ordered a case + one set of the SPs, so that means I should be getting 3 total Ultra Crystal screen protectors (1 from case package and 2 from the actual SP set). I'm trying to determine whether some are more scratch-prone than others. I'm paranoid when it comes to protecting my screen.
Did your scratch get deep enough onto the actual phone?

nope. the scratch is not deep enough to get onto my phone thankfully. it looks very much like a really really fine scratch that can only be seen under the light. However, its probably due to me being too picky about it. I recently placed an order or the oleophobic sp instead. shall see how it goes when it arrives.
Yeah, I figured I went with the Ultra Crystal as opposed to the other SPs (like Oleophobic, Fine, etc) because its hardness was rated highest (4H) as compared to the others (3H). The fact that it was designed for "extra scuff/scratch" protection made me get it over the other SGP screen protectors.
So I figure Oleophobic may offer better fingerprint resistance, but maybe more scratch prone? Hmm...

Video Review: SGP/Spigen Curved Crystal Screenshield

Hey fellas,
Finally got my hands on the SGP Curved Crystal for the Galaxy S3. This is a full coverage screen protector similar to the Tridea True Shield, but I quickly realized this is a better product. Installation was very simple and the results are incredible! Fit and finish is fantastic, covering the whole display and only having cutouts for the speaker, home button and front facing camera. Clarity is great as well, although it shows a little fingerprinting on it. For my personal use, this is terrific and I highly recommend you watch the video below and see if it's a fit for you!
Check out the video below for all info;
Thank you for the excellent video.
What about the scratches ? Does it scratch like the SGP Ultra Nano Clear ?
So what is the right screen protector if you are using a TPU case?

Not as bad as it, no. They are mostly hairline scratches. Some users reported that theirs 'dented' if you pushed your nails into it too hard, although I haven't experienced that problem.

You'll be fine with mostly ANY other screen protector, seeing as they aren't made for full coverage.
Great review, would you happen to know if the screen protector would have any problem with the SGP Neo Hybrid? I'm guessing it shouldn't since they're both SGP products. I'm looking for a screen that offers full screen protection so I might end up picking this up or the glas.t that they have up for sale.

I've had the shield on for 10 days or so and I haven't experienced a wide-spread issue with the denting, this may be just because my nails are cut very short. However, when I read the issues some were having, I decided to purposely try and dent the screenshield and see if any blemishes would be permanent or if they would disappear. Most screen protectors have self-healing properties and this one did the same for the forced dents I created. Seems any permanent dents would come from applying extreme pressure to the shield.
Would an Otterbox work or is it like a TPU case and cause peeling?

SGP ultra crystal is back again?

According to the Sgp website, the ultracrystal is back for the S3.

I am confused. What happened to the curved crystal? I don't see it anywhere in the list. Has anyone tried the new ultra crystal? How does it compare to the ultra nano clear or the curved crystal?
I bought it last week. I haven't put it on yet. I love the way the Nano sticks but hate how thin it is because it wrinkles and scratches.
I am hoping the ultra crystal thickness helps this.
I guess the original crystal covered the entire screen before they figured out the curved glass.
@ricktat : If it is not too much to ask for, can you apply the ultra crystal on your s3 and post some pics? I couldn't be patient for someone to review the ultra crystal again so went ahead and ordered the ultra nano clear for the time being. How is the protection on the nano clear?

The outdoor visibility on the S3 is very very good. The auto-brightness feature does a really good job. The ultra optics is known to have many issues. If you want clarity, optics is the last place you should go.

Galaxy S21 Screen Protectors Megathread

Hi everyone. I've heard that the Sonic Sensor Gen 2 might affect screen protectors, and wanted to know if there were any companies that people trust for screen protectors? Amazon's products for the past few generations of galaxy screen protectors have been garbage inflated with fake reviews.... bait & switch stuff. Obviously the phones aren't out yet, but wanted to see if anyone knows a company that will make something that's not instant garbage material?
Cheers,
Simon
Yep,
I 'll be watching this thread, ordered the Ultra 21 yesterday. First question I'll ask is will the glass protectors work with the fingerprint sensors, or should we use the film type to make sure??
I also read somewhere that these new phones don't come with a protector installed, yes or no??
Ken
My screen on my Oneplus 6 stil looks just about perfect after 2.5 years. I ripped off the factory screen protector shortly after I bought it.
So... I won't bother with one for my S21 either. This new generation Gorilla glass is supposed to be even more durable.
Unless you have like diamond ear rings or something that it might rub up against when you make calls, then you might need something.
I could not sleep without protection (of my phone)
I think i will pre-order one of the around 20 display protections avaliable form amazon (germany)
With in-display fingerprint sensor, I've never been able to get a screen protector that worked. Hopefully this new gorilla glass will be enough

Ah, lets see if fingerprint works with protector, but on my wife´s phone (p30 lite) its working with a cheap screen protector, so i think it will do it too on the s21u

Yes I know they are expensive.
On my S9+ their screen protected my phone. The protective screen shattered but the phone was perfect. The company also send me a replacement glass for free at that time. If I spend $1,000 on a phone I want to be able to sleep so I'll spend the money on something I can trust.
I am a fan of the Ringke Dual easy Wing. Although like most screen protectors that use a similar installation method I often get the line across the middle of the screen.
Anyone ever use the EGV brand? Looks to be the same process as WhiteStone Dome but at 1/2 the cost
Thanks
Note20U owner here. I've tried out many protectors. The cured tempered glass protectors are the best protection but gave me slower fingerprint unlocks and/or more errors. The first whitestone protectors had issues with the fingerprint sensor and they made a v2 which was better. The TPU protectors ended up being the best compromise for scuff protection and good fingerprint sensor response. I'm hoping QC's updated sensor might make tempered glass viable for me again. Btw, the Note20U had GG Victus and while it's very strong and durable, the screen is surprisingly easy to microscuff even when slid into pockets . It's a shame. I would use TPU at the least. Very few drawbacks IMO.
I used the Spigen Neoflex on the S20 Ultra with no impact on the performance of the fingerprint sensor so I intend to use the same again on the s21 https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08PCJYS6Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I ordered one of these for the S21, and I'm not thrilled. I haven't applied it yet since the phone is coming today, but this is FAR from glass. It's thin, flexible, obviously plastic, but not floppy like TPU. Considering they advertise it as glass, I'm not amused. Glad I paid nowhere near MSRP for it.
Avoid UniqueMe screen protectors, I just bought them because I needed something to protect the front. Very easy to install and lays flat, but the fingerprint sensor is busted:

I know there's already comments regarding the ZAGG D3O Hybrid Glass, but wanted to give my thoughts since I purchased and installed it: Best Buy Link
It's Not Glass
I too was expecting a glass protector even though they called it a "Glass Hybrid". It is definitely NOT glass, so do not expect that. That being said, it does feel pretty good under the fingers. Not quite as flawless as real glass, but I'd say it's better than the preinstalled one that came on the S20 and previous devices (also, the new S21 I received did come with a preinstalled protector, but it also had a large tab off the corner indicating intent for it to be removed before use). Also, use it for a few minutes after cleaning and it gets smoother. I'm not talking about getting it all greased up, but just using it for a few minutes makes it feel more like genuine glass.
Installation
Installation was horrible for me, but I think I got a defective one. There's a tab that indicates which side of the protector you pull off first, and despite my best efforts, the other layer kept separating, and it was nearly impossible to get the correct layer of backing off of it. That led to it popping off, and me needing to re-adhere it. This resulted in it not being quite perfect, and there being TONS of bubbles under the protector.
Luckily, I bought it at Best Buy and they hooked me up. I brought it in, explained the issue with the backing, and they replaced it free of charge. I just decided to pay 8$ there to have the guy install it for me, and he did it in about a minute flawlessly (seriously). I would definitely recommend buying and installing with Best Buy if you're even remotely nervous about it, as it wasn't as simple as a typical hard, real glass protector (because it's not one). Additionally, that 8$ gets you a free replacement/reinstall through Best Buy as needed.
Fingerprint Sensor
My fingerprint sensor works just fine with this protector. I had no issues even with the first one I installed that had bubbles everywhere. It's certainly more performant than my S20's sensor with the stock Samsung screen protector installed. I use the trick to register both thumbs under the same imprint, and then I do that twice. It's likely not as secure, but it certainly makes it easier to unlock my phone.
Look & Clarity
Look and clarity is excellent. There's no weird visual effects or noticeable modifications to screen colors or clarity. It's also extremely hard to tell it's on my phone. There's enough of a gap on the edge for a case, but I see no gap between my case and the screen protector. It also sheds fingerprints pretty well, so I'm happy with it there.
Overall
I'd give it an 8/10. It's a reliable option with great support and peace of mind through Best Buy, and it's certainly better than the stock protectors that used to come on phones like the S20 through Samsung. You also get a protector that seems to work really well with the fingerprint reader. The Dome glass may be a better option, but I did get this one for about half the price of a Whitestone with a Honey coupon at Best Buy (10$ off, equating to $31 total). I may try a true tempered glass at some point down the line if this one gets damaged, but I'm in no rush to do so.
Just did a review on Reddit from the 3 brands I tried. I'll copy and paste here:
OK, so there's a lot of misinformation going around on here, so I'm going to try to clear the air and give my experience of what works and what doesn't on the S21 (FLAT) screen, and we can assume the same thing for the S21+. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THE ULTRA, which still needs the LOCA/UV protectors due to the curved screen.
First things first, how I add my fingerprints: I follow the method everyone recommends, which is using the lightest pressure possible to register your prints, so you can ideally tap the display to unlock your phone. I do NOT press as hard as I can, because, honestly, who wants to do that every time they unlock their device?
I register my right thumb 3x and my left thumb once, getting all areas of my right thumb scanned (tip, sides, towrds the tip, towards the knuckle, etc)
OK, so what I've tested so far:
Ouba tempered protectors: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08RDR1394/
These work. Not especially well, but they work. You have to jam your thumb down ONCE when registering your prints, then light taps work after that. This constantly gives the "cover the entire sensor area" when registering, and when you unlock, your thumb has to be in a pretty precise spot. If you were DEAD SET on tempered, I'd get this, but I still wasn't thrilled.
UniqueMe Protectors - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08R8ZPC34/
Worked about as well as the Ouba, maybe a little worse. I wasn't happy with these at all. Tore it right off.
AmFilm "Hybrid" glass, designed to work with fingerprints - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08RYV6PD5/
First things first - These are NOT glass. They feel like glass on the phone, which is the most important thing, but they're not glass. Anyone who says screen protectors protect your screen from breaking are full of ****. They protect your screen from SCRATCHING, and tempered protectors do the best job of that. I don't know how well these will resist being scratched themselves, but they feel great. It does NOT feel like plastic.
Now, as for how well they work? Perfectly. Like there was nothing on your screen in the first place. Fingerprints were registered quickly, easily, and the slightest tap unlocks the phone. This is where it's at. The protector is also super thin compared to the others, and really feels like a bare phone. If you use a case, you won't even notice it's there.
Edit: Man, this thing collects fingerprints like it was its job. Do NOT expect any sort of oleophobic coating. Still works great, but it gets smudged quickly.
Now, because these are clearly NOT glass, I can't say how durable they will be and how long they'll last, but recently they were on sale for $4.50 for a 2 pack. Well worth the money.

In regards to @zachman1750 and his review of the Zagg D3O protector: I have the same protector, and it's a LOT like the Amfilm one. Same installation method, same feel, I'm willing to bet it's the same thing made in the same factory. The difference is $50 for the Zagg with $5 lifetime replacements (I paid $35 for mine), while the Amfilm was purchased for $4.50 for a 2 pack on Amazon, and even off sale, they're $9 for 2. I'd save your money and go for the Amfilm.

I checked for that in Amazon, that was my favorite for the S20 series... Could not find it. I'll check again I guess. Where did you get it?
I got the ESR "liquid skin full coverage" screen protector for my S21. Not sure why they call it that. Dry application, goes on like the Ringke Dual Easy series (has a lower film that grabs dust and then is pushed off in two stages with the squeegee as the final later is pressed into place). Feels pretty good, a few very small bubbles, has not peeled up on the edges so far (tested with Spigen Thin Fit and the Cyril Color Brick).
I would prefer the Ringke Dual Easy Wing, or something that wraps around to the back, so that cases can't push up the edges. Looking for that still.

Question Recommended Plastic Film Protector

Good day!
Do you have any recommended plastic film screen protector for Pixel 6 Pro?
I want a tempered glass one but since I am planning to use Spigen Tough Armor (and planning to switch to Otterbox Defender if it becomes available), tempered glass might not be the way to go. On top of that, the screen edges are curved.
Just like what I read from OnePlus 5 threads when it was new where Otterbox + TGSP were not compatible, it might also happen with Pixel 6 Pro if I switch to Otterbox so I am planning to stick with plastic film for now.
I got my OtterBox Defender (Pro Black - I would've preferred non-Pro Blue) from Verizon even though I'm not on that carrier, as another forum user indicated. OtterBox Defender Series Pro Case for Pixel 6
Cheaper than the manufacturer's site (and they're still showing out of stock on all of the Defender cases for the P6P anyway) and cheaper than anywhere else, and looks to be in stock at Verizon (might've been out of stock a few days ago). I received mine 3 days before I received my phone, got it on there now. Love it. I had ordered a Spigen variety from Amazon but never used it and I returned it and already got my refund, along with some screen protectors others had tested and the fingerprint reader didn't work with.
I'm using the Supershieldz film. It's okay. Does the job as far as protection goes, bubbles dissipated after a day. I'm having issues with the fingerprint sensor though and I don't know if that's just the optical sensor being finicky or the screen protector making it harder to read.

I got my OtterBox Defender (Pro Black - I would've preferred non-Pro Blue) from Verizon even though I'm not on that carrier, as another forum user indicated. OtterBox Defender Series Pro Case for Pixel 6

Thanks for the information. I am in Asia so can't order in US sellers. It seems that local network provider doesn't offer Otterbox. Also, checked the Google Store website of the country I am currently at, the Otterbox case is not listed there.
Have you both tried re-registering your prints after putting the screen protector?
Got this from Amazon, Fingerprint working flawlessly!

Thanks. I just searched and unfortunately, that isn't available in Amazon in the country I am at.
How was it by the way? Does it cover the whole screen up to the end of the curved edges?

My wife and I haven't put screen protectors on ours yet.

Yes, it covers the whole screen and was very easy to apply with the usb-c fixation part...

I have this one. Whew I had at least a dozen bubbles after two attempts. But over 3 days, they all disappeared and I'm quite pleased. As of now, my fingerprint reader is doing better than at any other time so far. It actually seems much snappier.

Tens of times. It's awful. I bought another brand on Amazon so we'll see if it's any different. I never tested out the sensor without a protector on, so I'm going to be testing that as well in between

I bought a 2-pack Armorsuit screen protector off Amazon which is a wet application. Unfortunately it mysteriously disappeared from the listings. I would highly recommend it if it comes back on, I'm way happier.
Fingerprint worked maybe 1/5 times with Supershieldz, now it works 9/10 times after just 15 minutes of application. I'm going to re-register my fingers tomorrow once it has time to settle but I'm impressed so far with this one.

I ordered those and they were delivered and apparently returned to sender (Amazon) smh. I ordered them again and noticed the same thing. There's just a green spray bottle as the photo now

Just checked again but the Armorsuit for P6P is still not yet in our Amazon. -_-
Thanks for the information
More than happy with this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09F5QKKWX/
Trying the Brotec flex for both front screen and camera. Camera section was a little tough to put on and front screen has some bubbles, sadly not that case friendly, corners lift up!
I am using Spigen Neo Flex. Bought as place holder. Actually decent. Wet application, goes on cloudy dries clear. Only slight orange peel effect at acute angle. Not all the way to the edge but goes around the curve. Would buy again.
I bought the Armorsuit case friendly version for the Pixel 6 Pro (You can order directly from their website instead of Amazon; two day shipping via USPS) and there were no issues with my fingerprint at all. Due to getting something under my Armorsuit I ordered IQ Shield as well from Amazon and it too has been flawless with the fingerprint reader. So I definitely recommend both Armorsuit and IQ Shield as wet installs. Watch the video if you've never installed one before though.
TOCOL 4 Pack Compatible with... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09FX3X3QP?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I got these from Amazon and they are excellent, really good fit ,smooth them selves out after a few hours so not a single bubble ,FP sensor Works really well ( I did delete and reset my FPs ) before Install, and has tempered glass protection for rear cameras .....will definitely do the job until we get tempered glass
