PX5 8.0 SilverStrong audio disortion when playning FM related to LCD Brightness - MTCD Android Head Units General

Hi,
I'm having problem with my unit since I bought it and put into my car. There is a high frequency sound while I'm listening to the FM radio (other media seems to be fine).
The sound frequency changes with the LCD brightness setting.
I've contacted the seller which told me that it can be solved by firmware update (not yet released?), but I don't belive it will solve the problem (looks like some sort of electrical interference)
My MCU version is MTCE_HXD 3.06_1
Have anyone had such problem and found a solution?
EDIT:
Today I've tried different MCU's (MTCE_HXD_V2.86sp1, MTCE_HXD_V2.95sp1, MTCE_HXD_V3.10sp1) - issue still persists. Maybe somebody have an advice according to the hardware?

Video which shows the problem:

Today I've opened up the head unit cover and everything looks ok.

What is more, I've noticed the strange thing - when the radio signal is lower (the antenna connector is only partly inside) the issue is gone. Unfortunately the FM signal is that poor that I can set only few (closest) radio stations https:// dropbox.com/s/61h8k5fszew1mvi/2019-07-18%2019.08.55.jpg?dl=0

[Q] Attempting to fix network and sound absences on my Desire

Hello everyone,
I am trying to understand what is the key fault of my HTC Desire. I since have changed to a HTC One X, due the fact that my Desire has lost both full phone networking and sound capabilities. The rest of the device works like a charm, currently with Paranoid's Jelly Bean rom, even on heavy load.
The phone has gone through three accidental falls (bad luck serie), that required me to change the amoled screen only three times up to now. The original digitizer is still like new. After the last fall, it started to develop some sound issues before the two ones I expose here. It started with the music only in one of the headset speakers thing (by compressing the left part of the phone, I could get back music in both ears).
Rapidly, I discovered my Desire could no longer catch the phone network, and so could no longer be used for calls, SMS or mobile Internet.
Additionally, no sound comes out from anywhere : front speaker, back loud speaker, headphone. The microphone appears muted as well. The volume settings are all at maximum, including using a more complete audio manager app from the Market. Headset detection plug/unplug works fine.
So apart from the other functionalities that all work (screen, digitizer, vibrator, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, SDCard , Sim card (detected and activated), USB, heavy load from benchmarks and games, volume buttons, camera, etc...), the phone is rendered useless by not being able to catch phone networks and not produce any kind of sound.
I have replaced some parts of the phone since this issue has begun : the upper board with flex cable (that was tired) and the loud speaker (was tired as well). It has not solved these issues (it only solved appearing detection issues due to the tired flex cable and failing volume buttons).
I now use the Z-device test app to try to diagnose the issue. I am not sure I understand them, but they may give hints :
- He is detects the SIM card well and displays its information.
- He detects the phone as gsm type, but is unable to display the gsm cell id (blank space). He finds the device id (long number) and the software version (00).
- Data state is therefore set to disconnected.
- Multemedia chip is undetected (blank space)
- ALSA version is undetected (blank space)
- SCO for off-call use is set to true
- Microphone is set to muted
- Speaker phone and wired headset are, whatever happens, always set to false.
This is it. I haven't got further yet. I try to situate the possible hardware fault, since full wipe and reflash has not solved the issue. I only have those suspects :
- What is called the Wi-Fi cable, that is damaged (the thin cable can come out easily from one of it's metal end, while it is clipped properly).
- What is called the antenna cover (that looks like yet another plastic piece, with two metal pins on the left side), the cover being slighly cracked on the right side but still completely screwable.
- One of the motherboard's IC chips or component for an unknown reason.
The phone is in good state and works well now, aside of these two key features. It does not look like it has fallen down once, a shame. What is your opinion on this? Do you have ideas or suspicions?
I thank you by advance.
About your sound issues (speakers, headphone), sounds like your amplifier died.

Probably. I doubt the isseu would come from the so called Wi-Fi cable as it may not both transport sound and act as an Antenna.
I therefore need to see if it is possible to replace the amplifier chipset. Might require precision soldering though.
Still idea concerning the gsm fault...

you would probably need hot-air to do that

Android head unit (Pumpkin KD-C0224) - Sound stopped working via music/video player

Hi All,
I have recently experienced an issue where the sound has stopped working (not going through car speakers) when in music, video or navigation app.
This used to work perfectly.
Sound works normally when CD inserted
Sound works normally when using radio app.
Video app plays video - but no sound.
Music app plays the mp3 tracks - but no sound - can see the progress bar moving along (music (mp3) on SD card - 8GB formatted FAT32)
Also have issue with the BlueTooth - connects to phone but seems to be around wrong way - it appears the head unit thinks it is in phone handset mode when it is not - as result can hear people talking through the car speakers but they cannot hear me unless i toggle handset mode, but then people can hear me talking, but i cannot hear them...
I suspect for whatever reason the audio out is being directed to Blue tooth or whatever
Has anyone else come across this issue, and if so is there a solution?
Device
Pumpkin 2-DIN
KD-C0224
MCU version: MTCB-KLD-V2.02
Model # : S07
Android Version: 4.2.2_01092014
Have you tried making your phone and the head unit forget each other?

Yes I have - same result
Have also tried
- resetting unit - factory reset
- pulling the power on unit for
Whatever the issue it appears to be persistent between boots....
Now there is another issue - won't display the feed from the reversing camera
The head unit switches into camera mode, but displays message "No Signal"

I also have a Pumpkin KD-C0224 head unit and it works really great, does way more than you need it to do. (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pumpkin-Capacitive-Multi-touch-Navigation-Multimedia-y/dp/B00OB90SOY/)
1. About the sound issue, perhaps there is something wrong inside of the unit.
2. About the Bluetooth, you can try settings-》backup&reset, then do the “factory data reset to see if it can help.
3.About the "No Signal", I have encountered this issue and Pumpkin sent a video instruction http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lu8maRNrtlk
PS:You can ask for help from Pumpkin and customer service has been very good.
Android 4.4.4 Car Unit S07 sound problem
Hi to all,
I have a similar problem. My device is a Universal 2-DIN, Model: S07
Lately I had a problem with sound coming from sd-card. The quality of sound was good enough for some time and few minutes later, the sound coming only from one speaker, then transfered to another speaker then the listening becomes very bad and suddenly comes back very good as in the beggining.
That was in the past because now there is no sound at all.
More specific:
I have sound in Bluetooth, CD-DVD, Radio and the touching clicks (on device).
No sound at all from the device such as NAVI apps, in 2 sd-card slots and 3 USB's (2 back, 1 front). Of course I see video but without sound and the music plays mp3 once more without sound
I have already done the following:
I opened the device, unplug and plug-in again all the ribbon cables. Factory reset in Android 4.4.4, upgrade to 5.1 lollipop with reset to factory settings again, and finaly downgrade back to Android 4.4.4 with reset to factory settings again. The problem is still the same.
Is it damaged ribbon cable ? or other hardware problem ? because I don't think that is a software problem. Any opinion is helpfull.

Kgl 5 sound problem

I have a MTCM KGL5 v2.55 android 4.4.4 headunit and the radio and gps sound first became scratchy and distorted but now has stopped working. If it is cold it will be scrstch and distorted but off if warm. The dvd, bluetooth. Sound is just fine. Anybody have any idea what is wrong andhow to correct. Help appreciated.
That is supposed to read mtcb and my antenna ground inside is well connected so that is not the issue.
I went into the factory settings and in the audio section. I set the radio to 1 from the original 16 and now the radio plays well.

Help needed with understanding Xtrons HU navigation features

I recently installed a Xtrons PQS90MTVL head unit in a skoda superb. I have a couple of questions on how to get it to work correctly when navigating.
1) It seems that you can set the navigation sounds to be a percentage of the radio volume but cannot set it to play at a given volume regardless. The problem is that the radio seems to be constantly on and there is no way to turn it off. The 'on/off' button simply mutes the radio - and the navigation sounds.
Often I am in an area where I cannot pick up a decent radio signal on the programme I want and just get static. In these situations I want to turn the radio off but still hear navigation sounds. I don't want to listen to loud static just so I can have the nav sounds play at a percentage of that static. Is there a way to turn the radio off but still get navigation sounds? (a workaround I have found is to play a media file instead of the radio and then pause playback. The nav sounds are then still a percentage of the - non existent - playback volume. However this should not be necessary)
2) It also seems that a Internet connection is needed for any navigation. even google maps won't do a search without it as it says I am offline. (is this true?)
I have bought the 4G wifi dongle but have a question about its use. Does the HU connect to the dongle, as far as data is concerned, via the USB socket that comes out of the back of the unit or is that socket simply powering the dongle and the HUI is actually connecting to it over wifi using the dongle as a hotspot? If so then I don't have to use the wired usb socket from the unit (which I suspect is underpowered) and can plug the dongle into an ordinary 2A USB socket that I have in the car, positioning the dongle near the roof for a better signal
Incidentally I did try using Android Auto with my phone using wired connection. That seems sort of OK but is not very reliable. Often when starting the car it hangs at the 'connected' screen, or even at the 'trying to connect' screen, although other times it seems OK
3) There is a small socket on the left hand side of the HU that looks like a slot for a small memory card or a sim card. It is labelled 'GPS'. What is that socket used for? it is not mentioned in the manual as far as I can see. - The manual is generally a bit hand waving though, excitedly telling you what you can do but not how to do it.
(I did try the xtrons forum but not only are the last posts there around January 2022 but there seems to be no way to register for it. Hence posting here)
Is it MTCx post system info including mcu version.
Mtcb is long retired

All I know is the model is Xtrons PQS90MTVL so maybe its MTVL (whatever that is) I'm afraid I don't know what mcu means so cannot offer any version for it. Its possible I have posted this in the wrong section and have rep[osted in 'Android Head-Units'. If that is the right place and this is the wrong place, please can you delete this post

Eonon GA5153F call quality problem

Hi everyone. I ask you for help because I am a GOLF 5 owner with an Eonon GA5153F installed (which should be an MCTB) originally with Android 4.4.4 which I then brought to version 5.1 with a rom
The problem he has always had is related to the audio quality in calls. Until I used it, I used the hands-free phone and that's it, but now that my wife uses it, I prefer to be careful while driving and therefore call and do everything via the car radio. The problem is that the audio I get is really HORRIBLE. Practically whoever is on the other side of the phone hears nothing, hears 1 word every 5 and at a very low volume (I've already gone to the factory settings and turned up the bluetooth but nothing changes).
I've read that many of these Chinese have made hardware changes, removing the capacitor and resistor on the bluetooth module or similar, but I can't find anything about my car radio. Have any of you done this? Does anyone of you have photos, videos or something that tells me on mine which component I have to desolder, which track to open, or what to do?
Please because the quality that this car radio has on call is really a shameful thing!
Thanks a lot to everyone
P.S. Currently I have connected (in the back of the car stereo) an external microphone (the one that was inside the car stereo package)
