Kill my minimized apps after taking photo - Nokia 8.1 Questions & Answers

Does anyone has this issue? After taking photo, all minimized apps will be killed. Is it because my Nokia 8.1 has 4 GB RAM?

Just tested, but No.
Opened files, calendar, whatsapp and firefox.
All stay open after taking a photo. So 4 gb is not the issue.

[Q] Accessing gallery from Stock camera app

This is what I noticed about the Arc S stock camera app.
After taking a picture, I would usually go back to see if the picture is well taken. There is a direct shortcut from the camera app itself, but accessing the gallery through that "shortcut" is very slow and laggy.
Wanted to find out if this is a flaw in the arc S phone, even though the processor is supposed to be fast? Is this a common issue among the Arc S users?
I do not use any task killers, it is non-rooted, and I find the lagginess only happens whenever I use the (stock) gallery through the (stock) camera. For the gallery from the homescreen, I use QuickPic. Compare to the stock gallery, it is much faster.
I usually do a reboot after 3-4 days, or whenever I find it lags. But the rebooting doesn't seem to speed up the loading time of the gallery. Any clues on speeding up the loading time? Or if there is another trick on accessing the gallery quickly from the camera?

you can set the camera to open the images in Quickpic. if it doesn't give the option when you click then goto the gallery application is settings and clear it's defaults.
this is what i do.
Quickpic is awesome!
Pvy.
Hey thanks mate!
This method works. Couldn't believe why I didn't think of that! Lol..

note ii touchwiz gallery app serious problem

i am having some serious problems with the built in gallery app. i have few folders with over 300 pics in them. everything is nice and smooth until im trying to open some of the last pics in the folder. i tap on it...it opens all blurry, hangs for about 3-4 seconds then it's ok....if i swype to the next on same thing.....3-4 seconds on each pic. if i open pics from the begging of the folder or in folders with fewer pics they work perfectly fine. i have tried different sdhc cards, hard reset. the only way this works is with other gallyer app like gallery ics or any other gallery app or file manager that has built in viewer.
now....i dont know if its an issue with folders with alot of pics in it......or if its an issue with the built in gallery app not handeling some pics taken with other devices.
do u have this issue?
Could those pics be of a higher resolution than the rest? It takes awhile for the higher res pics to load.

[Q] Gallery VERY laggy with apps/photo editors.

I've got the Galaxy Note N7100, and when I open up the gallery on it's own, it's fine, and loads up the phone photos along with those on facebook, dropbox, g+ etc almost instantaneously.
But when I try to select a pic in an app (like PicsArt, Camera Zoom FX, AfterFocus Pro etc), the stock gallery opens, and then it takes AGES for any folder to load (even the local ones, except for camera; but even the camera folder takes ages to be accessible).
It takes like 30 seconds sometimes!
What's wrong with it? Is it just me?
And could I disable it, so it doesn't automatically start trying to pull folders from G+, Facebook etc whenever I open gallery, be it in an app or independently?
My Nexus 4 used to be almost instantaneous in this regard...
I have just tested what you mentioned and see no lag. Something seems to be wrong somewhere. Regarding which albums get "read" I did not find a solution. You could use QuickPic. You can then just long press an album and choose "bypass" or "ignore" or something along thoes terms ("Exclude").
Do you have lots of pictures or film in your gallery?

Thanks, and quickpic worked like a charm!
But yeah, the gallery's still lagging. I don't have a lot of albums on the phone, but the gallery grabs all the pics from my google+(/picasa?) and splits them into albums by date.... And a lot of them!
I don't think this happened on the nexus... And not sure why it is so or how to turn it off...
But meanwhile, quickpic is working awesome, thanks!

Slow loading Gallery?

Hey, guys. Loving my Note II. This is actually my second one and they have both had this issue.
The Gallery loads super slow, especially when it's accessed through another app (such as when you're sending an MMS). I tried quickpic and it seems to be faster. I wonder if it has to do with the Picasam, Facebook, and Dropbox integration? I do have a lot of albums.
I haven't tried turning those off yet, but I like the idea of having access to my web albums through the gallery, so I'd rather not. However, the slow loading gallery is starting to drive me nuckign futs. Anyone else notice this? Any idea what causes it? Is it my web albums?
Thanks!
Yes, quickpic a lot faster.....

What class memory card do you have? I find the faster the card the faster they will load.

mine lags and slow loads as well. I absolutely hate the large thumbnails in the gallery that are not rendered clearly. They are all fuzzy/blurred until you select one picture and expand it.
I prefer quik pic also. My memory card is a Sansdisk ultra class ten 32 gb
If you have your Facebook pics synced with your gallery, you will immediately and without a doubt experience an extremely noticeable slow down in the your gallery performance.
When I got my Note II, I didn't immediately sync my Facebook to my gallery. The gallery flew at the speed of light. Eventually, I synced my Facebook photos so they would show up in my gallery. BIG MISTAKE! Immediately, I noticed an extreme slow down. Before, if I wanted to change my static wallpaper to a photo from my gallery, it would be fast and effortless. After the FB sync, it would literally take many many many seconds before my gallery would fully load to the point where I could go through my different gallery photos. It wasn't immediately apparent to me what caused the performance lag, until other posters in a thread on XDA brought up the issue, and someone posted about FB syncing causing the lag. As soon as I removed the FB photo syncing, my gallery immediately reverted back to the amazingly fast speed it had before. I haven't had any issues since.
Fb and db sync makes gallery unusable. Have to wait a minute or two before able scroll through, otherwise it would jump back to the selected folder.

Nexus 5x 7.1.2 constantly out of RAM

Hey guys,
How is it this phone can't seem to even keep 2 apps in memory!? Google Maps navigation dies if I step into Instagram and record a video to my story. Obviously there's other background services running as well, but I try to keep very few unused apps. Is 2GB of RAM just not enough for Nougat? What have you guys done to try and help the situation? I am on stock rooted Android 7.1.2.

Maybe try using greenify to hibernate some of the apps that are running in the background. Or try to adjust the minfree ram values via some kernel managing app like Kernel Adiutor
I have no memory problem.
You are using two the most memory heavy tasks (maps and video recording). I get my background apps closed even when I launch Camera.
Pretty normal behaviour

Yea... I guess 2GB just isn't cutting it for multi tasking these days!

It depends. For me, multitasking is working just fine. I can use Word and Chrome simultaneously and from time to time switch to Inbox by Gmail without getting any app closed.
The only thing that truly kills multitasking on the 5x for me is HDR photo (which even kills music players) and gaming in general as it struggles to keep anything active once a game loads.
