S10 Plus confusion between UAG cases. Ice, Pathfinder and Monarch - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Accessories

I need to buy a new case for my prism white s10 plus. The UAG SERIES looks impressive. Please suggest one for me. The pathfinder black one seems to be a good choice but I'm confused with the monarch. Also, which color is better in monarch

Monarch is great!

The UAG cases are nice, but I refuse to pay $55 for a piece of plastic. Hhheeelll no!

I like the blacked out Monarch myself and it's one of my favorite cases.

But paying 1000$ for a phone is pretty sane =)

Have you previously used a UAG case? They look nice on paper but are bulky, uncomfortable to hold and feel like they are made from cheap materials when actually on your phone.
I ordered mine directly from UAG so I know it wasn't a knockoff and I hated it. I expected it to be more like an Otterbox case I guess in terms of providing a comfortable grip. UAG cases are definitely not grippy.
Some people do swear by UAG cases.

Have you looked at supcase? its a good alternative to uag especially if you go with the unicorn beetle series. I currently have one on my s10+ and while it isn't advisable, it has survived a fall from a scaffold at eaves level, with no major damage just a scuff to the the back plastic.
I had a UAG case for my note 8 and it was very uncomfortable in the hand.
I wouldn't say that the supcase is better for comfort just different. It has less pronounced ridges on the back but the sides seem thicker. It has raised rubbery nubs on the back in the corners to stop it sliding. A feature I didn't think would get much use on the supcase case was the kickstand, but I can safely say it is one of my most used features on the case, it is very stiff in the beginning for clipping in and out but with a little use becomes smooth and long lasting. its good as a handle in the hand and ,when standing, supports the phone vertically and horizontally
and it is £30 cheaper still military grade drop tested I highly recommend as I think the build quality is as good if not better than the note 8 case I owned

Yeah it is. Especially when you consider the phone is more technically a powerful multi-core computer which fits in your pocket, that is also capable of making calls...and the case is literally ONLY, a case.
I never have and never will spend more than $20 on a case, when all it is, is just a glorified piece of plastic and rubber.

Case-Mate Tough is the #1 EVO case

I have finally found my love . The Case-Mate Tough case is hands down my favorite so far. The cases I have tried already, are;
- Body Glove case I bought the same time I picked up the EVO in the Summer, it looked so bad ass Sci/Fi cool in the box, but we all know this case blows, it cracks way too easy, and the plastic feel is not comfortable against face and too slippery, this case sucks.
- Otterbox - Commuter, I thought the quality was pretty good, but it was a very bulky and heavy case, and the back plastic not a good feel for holding the phone, too slick. The kickstand access is too tight, and phone wobbles when using it. Overall not impressed with the Commuter.
- Otterbox - Impact, my Brother has this case, and it feels great in the hand, and looks pretty good too, but can get a little lose around the sides of the phone, and is bulky. But I like this case #2, it feels good, and looks good, just a tad too thick.
- Case-Mate Tough, this is it baby This is easily, the best case of the ones I have tried. I was surprised at the slimness of this case for it being it a 2pc protection case, it is thinner than the Commuter + Impact, and my God the feel of the case is just perfect, I couldn't let go of the phone last night, it just feels so good in the hand, not slippery at all, but not too sticky either, just right. And it looks very professional, and just perfect. And great kickstand access. This case will really protect your phone well, but also look great, feel great, and is not crazy bulky/thick like other protection cases. Highly recommended.
Well based on your review im gonna pick one up since sedio will not rma my active case even though they re designed it, buncha assholes

Also show us pics to compare thickness of Evo w/ and w/o the case ont.
Here you go ...
Reviews, photos, even a video. I've had this case for a couple of months, and it is as good as the OP stated. I also had the Seidio "Active" case, which began to come apart in just a few weeks, and tried the Otterbox "Impact", which is a lint magnet. The Tough Case is a keeper.

Thanks for the link, I forgot to post those official pictures.
The best thing about this case, is the feel. It just fits in the hand so nicely, and just feels great.
Yeah it is one of those "thicker" cases, but with the protection it delivers, it is one of the thinnest of the thick cases, if that makes sense. Meaning the Otterbox and other dual layer heavy duty cases, this is the slimmest in that category.
Now if you want, super model, waif thin, Case-Mate also makes a really pretty case, the "Barely There Case", I plan to buy this too, and just use on the weekends, or when going out to dinner or black tie event

I have one of the "Barely There" cases as well, and you are right ... it is very elegant ... really feels like there isn't a case on at all. It covers the back (especially the camera lens) and all four corners ... and is very nice for those who keep there phone in their pocket.

My first Active case had the outer layer peeling so I RMA'd it and they sent me a replacement one which was much much better than the original one I had, even the silicone part was better. Less prone to picking up dust. Though for the price I probably would've just gotten the Tough case especially since it's only 20 bones on newegg... but I don't believe it was out when I ordered the Seidio one... =T
Having this Tough case most of the week now I am in love Mainly due to the feel in hand, this case has the best materials for holding the phone comfortably, it just sits in your hand perfectly with not being too slippery nor too rubber sticky, it is just right. I can't put the phone down it is too sexy with this case.

I had the Otterbox Commuter for a week, was not happy with it, it felt too plasticy, and slick, and was very thick/bulging case. I went into to Sprint store to check on some stuff, and the guy there had the Case Mate Tough on his EVO, I was like, wow that is cool looking, and looked to be a bit thinner than my Otterbox.
Bought it on the spot, and wow instant love, the feel of the case it what gets me, it just feels soooooo nice in your hand, and the back has a cool design, and the best kickstand cutout of any case I have seen. The Otterbox will never be back on my phone.

I agree, it does, but it feels so nice in the hand, and offer great protection. I wish the case was thinner, but that would be impossible with the nice cushion it has.
What case do you like ?
I don't like the camera area on the case mate, ill stick with the commuter aka best evo case on the market
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Has anyone else tried this awesome case out yet ?
Well I had the sedio active (now named the active X)
I ordered the new sedio active x (hybrid) from here on reffered to as "the x" and the case mate from here on reffered to as the "CM"
Ill tell you this they are damn near identical. They both have a rubbery type feel to the plastic piece that wraps around the silicon case. There is no actual plastic that touches your phone its silicon with a plastic over wrap. The cm has more texure to its plastic outer shell than the X
They fit the phone about the same the volume and power I think are easier to hit on the x vs the cm
the pricing is about the same but the cm comes with a static type screen protector, cloth and application card. The x comes with nothing.
The x comes in a myriad of colors and holsters are availaible. the cm comes in two colors and there does not appear to be any type of holster availaible, however the cases are so close Id bet to say the sedio one would fit
cm offers a 90 day warranty (3 month)
x offers a 180 day warranty (6 month)
sedio generally has pretty good customer service (except in my case)
case-mate had been in business a zillion years
I think with everything being as it is, I have to say Id prolly go with the x
its not that the cm isnt a great case because it is, im going simply based off the accessory options and the warranty.
however with that being said....I should go with the cm because im mad at sedio now.

Good protection, easy to remove, looks good and that it will feel good in the hand while not adding bulk to the device I like it thin.
The first case looks like it would add a fair amount of protection, and it's also aesthetically pleasing. It looks like it may add a tiny bit of bulk though; although, it might make it a little more pleasing to hold.
The second case doesn't seem that it would offer a lot of protection, but the holster is definitely a plus, and the case is fairly slim.

If you like it thin, then cross that first option off the list. Duo layered "hybrid" cases aren't thin by design. The thinnest I know, is from Seidio, with very nice in-hand feel and good protection.
The other white case with the holster won't offer you top or bottom protection if you ever drop it. So cross that off as well.
If you want single layer solution, you should consider TPU, it's a popular choice for a reason (beside price). CruzerLite and Diztronic are good options. CruzerLite's Androidified cases are noticeable thinner than Diztronic's classy version, but both are recommended. I wouldn't recommend any white TPU though, since they love to suck up color that rubs against them.
What I'm currently using now is a bumper case. There's a few threads about it. My version did have the TPU separation problem, but once I've placed a few dabs of superglue on area, I've experienced only satisfaction with the case. Here's the eBay page for it. I bought one copy from a similar seller, and a couple more from an online website that have stopped offering them. Needless to say, price have risen up a bit since when I bought them last.

I have the VZW GNex. The bumper fits just fine. The top rim doesn't completely fold over onto the screen, but unless you're super OCD, it's negligible. The overall feel of the phone + case won me over. You should at least try it. For only 3 bucks (when I bought it), it's a great case for me.

Bellroy Leather or Google Fabric case?

Both look pretty good. Which are you guys going with?
I have both and I really like the bellroy case. This is the first leather case I've ever had and I've got to say it feels good in the hands. Not a lot if bull either and I like how it covers all the edges instead of the fabric case being open at the Port. This year's fabric case however feels much nicer then the pixel 2 one. I feel the cases both add about the same bulk so either way I think that's okay. The leather one is offers a little more grip thou. If you have a TGSP applied the cases sit flush with that so they both feel great.
Thanks for the info. I'll probably go Bellroy then.
I have both, and like both. I kinda like the fabric one better because it's different. Bellroy might be better protection as it has a slight front lip that is non-existent on the fabric.
One observation I have is that the fabric case feels and looks like a pair of jeans, the leather of course feels and looks like leather. This gives me the feeling of more expensive versus less expensive. Nor sure if this matters or if you'd get the same vibe but it's there for me.
I have both cases as well. I prefer the bellroy as it has a raise lip around the edges to protect the screen. Also to me for some reason the bellroy just fits my hand better and feels just slightly slimmer. The fabric case feels wider and the fabric seems less grippy in my hand.

In my opinion the Google Case is far to expensive, very poor protection due to the huge outlets, not covering the edges of the screen, cheap plastic.
All for 45 bugs.
You´ll get an ugly UAG for the same prize, bullet proof however.

I have the google case and don't think i will ever change it. Maybe not the best protection but i almost never drop my phone and the feel is premium and very good when you hold the phone. Very satisfied.

Love my nomad too! Expensive but great quality as far as i can tell!
I have both and like them equally. Both are slim and feel great. Fabric is improved over last year as I had one for my 2xl. The bellroy is also better after reading reviews from last year and seeing the improvements that the company made.
I just received a new case from simply carbon fiber and it's also sweet. Looks and feels great. So now I have 3 cases that I really enjoy and for a phone that deserves it.

I'm on the fence between the Nomad and the Bellroy. I've held the Bellroy and loved the feel and the leather wrapping around the sides, but the buttons were a little stiff. I've not seen the Nomad in person, but there appears to be more of a raised edge protecting the screen and it just looks more protective overall. I've heard the button feel is good and the leather looks more natural. I'm currently using a Google Fabric case which appears to have minimal protection, other than slight bumps and scratches on the back.

Extra thin case? Totallee or something cheaper?

I'm looking for the thinnest, sleekest case possible for my s10+. Does anybody have any experience with the totallee cases? They look nice, and they get mentioned in all the case roundup articles. But $29 is super pricey for a thin case like this.

Really none, it's basically flush. When I set the phone face down with that case on it kind of feels like the screens not touching but I can't slide a piece of paper under it.
Here are some photos I just took.
I have the totalee case, fit and finish is whats expected from these kinda cases, which is what I love, but if you can find the same thing cheaper from another brand buy it, they really are all the same.
Check out MNML. Almost identical to Totallee, but much less expensive (around $18 with shipping and first time buyers discount). They ship from China, so expect 2-3 weeks for shipping.

Usually these non brand PP cases are 99 cents from China since this is X-Level branded it's a little more. I replace every few months because over time from wireless charging or heat, corners tend to expand.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/254161735325/
I have the clear Totalee but for $28.99 it yellows too quick. I use the clear X-Level but going to try this one in clear white - I used the crystal for my Pixel 3 and replaced every 2-3 months but seemed like thinner better case than Totallee for the money
I have 3 thin cases:
Pitaka - Most expensive, somewhat slippery, carbon fibre material gets dirty quickly with palm grease / sweat, Looks good, no raised corners for placing phone screen down.
Nillkin Frosted Shield - Has raised corners, good grip, cheap, looks decent.
Spigen Thin Fit Air (Black) - Skinniest and grippiest of the 3. Soft feel material shows palm grease / sweat. No raised corners. Note: I can only vouch for grip on the black version (soft feel). Spigen cases in non-black colours can be slippery (no soft feel material).
I use Nillkin the most whenever I need a slim case. It's the perfect balance of grip, looks and raised corners.

Tried one of these and ended up sending it back. The sandstone finish started peeling and flaking off after about two days.
Then I tried one of the leather cases from ESR; I liked the feel of the Samsung leather case but didn't want to pay $50 for it. That one was a bust too. The case was thicker than I expected, and the corners didn't sit flush against the phone. Bummer.
So I went ahead and ordered the Totallee. It'll be here tomorrow, and I'll report back!

The Totallee case is really nice. Unbelievably thin, and a great fit. Not sure if it'll survive too many drops, but it's super comfy to hold and it looks awesome. Nice little lip around the camera bump, but not obtrusive like on the Spigen thin case. No lip on the front though. I'll be getting a Whitestone Dome Glass shortly, and I don't think it'll have any problems fitting with this case.
Two tiny complaints. One, it's a little more slippery than I expected. The smooth finish on the solid black case doesn't provide much in the way of grip. And finally, the case is just about the same thickness as the phone's buttons, so the buttons now sit more or less flush with the sides of the case. Makes it a little harder to find the buttons by feel, but I'll probably get used to that pretty quickly.
All in all, I'm extremely glad I spent the few extra bucks for this one. The Pitaka looks awesome too, but this was about as high as my price range could go and it's a good choice for me.
In my experience, Totallee cases are better compare with their direct competitors such as MNML. I also have tried cheap ultra thin cases as well and i can say that those from Totallee are with better quality and fit. With proper care, it will fit your device nicely for a long time.
I use the ultimate shield cases, its at least as good as totalee for lower cost.

ArmadilloTek Vanguard and Urban Rnager review

I received both the Vanguard and Urban ranger case for me to review from ArmadilloTek which is a newer company based out of Texas who are a couple outdoor enthusiasts. They're two cases I got to try out are a nice good fit and a great overall case for the price. The Vanguard currently sells on Amazon for $18.98 and the Urban Ranger sells for $11.98.
Overall the Vanguard I am a pretty big fan of being its rugged and durable, since I have received the case it's been my daily driver for about a week now. It's a two piece construction similar to a Supacase or equivalent. It does NOT have a screen protector built in and the way it is designed I do not see a Whitestone dome screen protector fitting either. The buttons on the case feel good and very "clicky" and seem to have a great response. Also with this case you have a charging port and headphone jack plug that seems to fit snug and keep what ever you might encounter out. Yes the case does allow for a wireless charging and it does have a stand on the back. There is no holster for either as far as I know currently. I would say this case gives Otterbox a run for it's money currently at the price point. Also the case is raised to protect the front screen and I don't have any problems using gestures on my s10+ with it.
Now for the Urban Ranger I am not a big fan of the buttons, they don't seem very responsive for me but I don't like the feel of the case in my hands and the fitment. This case a is lighter duty case similar to maybe Spigen Rugged Armor. If it weren't for the button response I would really have a hard time picking one or the other be cause typically I am a thin or minimalistic case guy.
If your looking for two good quality case to give a try give them a try!

To me, it is more like a combo of UAG and otterbox.

Sigh, but don't you think ours are stronger!!! the front cover?
I have one of the vanguard cases the OP talks of. It's a good case, but if you ever want to take it off for whatever reason, you better get a crow bar because it really locks your phone to itself. I had to use my flip out pocket knife to pry it off my phone. I also had to be very careful not to cut the case (which I did a little) or damage my phone cosmetically. For this reason I use an otter box as my daily driver.
