Brand new EVR-AL00 which version should I be on? - Huawei Mate 20 X Questions & Answers

Hey All,
Thanks in advance for any help.
I just received the AL00 and ran the update which gave me EMUI 9.0.0.200.
I thought for sure we were already at 9.1 something.
I just want to make sure that via OTA updates I should only be on 9.0.0.200 or am I missing something and should be on a newer version of EMUI.
Thanks again everyone.

I bought AL00 a few months ago, but late enough not to be able to unlock it, and I still did not get any update above 9.0.0.200 :/

Thanks for the input...much appreciated. Are we ever going to get 9.1 you think?

( if the phone model is EVR-AL00 ) please change the Region settings as china in both app-gallery and Hi-Care and try to update via Hi-care
it will update to 9.1 it worked for me... good luck

Thanks so much, that worked. The only problem now is that the update is showing in system and when I go to update the 9.1 is there but it's greyed out and won't let me select it ?

If you're not able to to update via HiCare, you can try the dload method in this post. Select the AL00 link.

I will certainly give that a try...do I need to unzip the DL first? Thanks again in advance for all your help, I appreciate very much.

Yes. Unzip it. Then open up the "Software" folder and copy the entire dload folder to the root of your SD card/USB OTG. After that turn off your phone. Then power it back on by holding all the 3 buttons until you see the Software Update screen pop up.

You are a ROCKSTAR!...worked like a charm, thanks so much for your help.

Which version did you upgrade to? Evr-AL00-9.1.0.127 or 131 ?

I could only find the .127 but it seems ok

Please note that by using this firmware and update method, OTA updates will be disabled and you won't be able to check for updates via HiCare & System. The only way to further update will be to manually download the newest firmware and use the HSTool/HiSuite patch methods.
This is because:
1. These firmwares are signed with EVR-LGRP1-CHN version which will eventually display as EVR-AL00 after install. Because of the difference in versions, HiCare can't check for updates via OTA
2. Since the only way to install the firmware on locked bootloaders is to alter the PC host file, this means that Huawei's cloud server does not recognise this ffw version and thus needs to be bypassed, which means that further updates will need to use the bypass method.

Thanks Yogi...I think I want the recovery version though. Thanks for your help anyways.

-now put the sdcard in your phone.
-now press power button+volume up+volume down, all at the same time.
-if your phone shows the emui logo and under it says "Verifying update package"then you are good to go.

Same as mine, and no we still have to wait for that one to be uploaded once it's available
Glad it's a finally getting released , I saw the L09 download didn't think about it being VLOG, my own fault. Luckily managed to pick up a Pixel 2 on FB to at least have me up and running....and as a bonus Android 10.
Shouldn't be long to wait now
If I decide to update my p30 with this method, would I be stuck to this version or I would get normal updates ?

What was the phone before the update ELE-L09 and what was it's CUST
Unless it was an ELLE-L09 with Cust (C316) it wont flash and you are soft bricked until the correct firmware is released
@Passportpowell, if your build and cust is ELE-L09 C431 or ELE-L09 C432, i'm affraid that you'll have to wait for a whille to revive your device, because dload firmware for those 2 CUSTS aren't available yet.
If you have another CUST rather then those 2 above, search on this thread for a link of dload firmware matching your actually one and then flash it in order to revive your softbricked phone.

Unfortunatelly, you can downgrade only using HiSuite PC version and only with a working device.
You can't use any of the EMUI 9.1 dload firmware to downgrade, because it won't work (you can only upgrade on your status).
What was the EMUI version build before softbrick? Do you remember? EMUI 9.1.0.240 or higher?
We'll assume for now untill you find out what cust you have that you have C431 or C432, the most common version and wait for their dload release, so you can try them.
if you want to try any of these let me know and i will upload them:

Bypass FRP is about Google account user and password. If by mistake you reset your device without Factory Reset when you set it up it will ask in order to continue previous data of Google account. Or if someone stole a phone and HARD Reset it, he has to Bypass FRP (enter last user Google account data in order to continue)

Android 10 Has Begun Rolling Out For The Moto One Vision In Brazil!

This time it's the real deal and not a beta/mfn version.
The update comes bundled with the January 2020 Security Patch and has the build number QSA30.62-24
As usual, the update is rolling out in batches... As by far, only users of the first batch of devices have received the OTA update.
The other batches (02/2019 and so on...) are still waiting in line.
My phone's batch is 06/2019... So I'll have to wait a little more
EDIT: As Of Today, January 13 2020, the OTA update, versioned QSA30.62-24 is out for All Users of the Motorola One Vision In Brazil using the Retail Software Channel (RETBR).
I just updated my phone and did a hard reset to start clean.
how do you know which batch is your phone?

How to revert EVR-AL00 from 10.0.0.188 patch01 to stock 9.0.0.136 without SD card

Howdy,
I have a EVR-AL00 with 10.0.0.188 C00E74R2P8patch01 on it. I am experiencing account synchronization issues with Google apps.
I'd like to revert to stock ROM with Android PIE. I've found a 4GByte ZIP with 9.0.0.136 update.app in it. It's there any way how I could go to this old ROM without needing to have a SD card in the phone? If yes, is there any detailed guide to do that? My phone does NOT have an unlocked bootloader.
Thank you.

Uhm, I've tried HiSuite, but it didn't seem to have any options to install firmware.
Thanks for helping! Do I have install some tool on a PC? Do I also need to install some client on the phone? I do have HiCare installed on the phone, but it doesn't have any option to choose firmware or downgrade. I only have an option to update the device. Need installing HiCare tool on a PC?
BTW, the device received updates as if Huawei is issuing patches every night and day. I am owning it for less than a week, and it received updates for like 5 times or so.

Hi. I haven't been keeping up with things here. What are the benefits of going back down to the earlier version 9.1.0.353? Is it that you can unlock bootloader if you have bootliader code (apparently you can't do this on 10.0...)? Can you then root? Any thing else? Rebrand (I know... Wishful thinking...) Thanks!

@letschky
Yes. I bought it quite awhile ago. Think I paid somewhere around 10 to 20 dollars for it. Never used it though.

I don't know if it works with Emui 10,either it works or it doesn't work

Android10/EMUI10 Update

Since update version is available on FF, does any one know the new FF DNS + HiSuite method that works for Android 10 update? Since the old one doesn't work??
Nope
Hello,
I tried for a whole afternoon last week-end. Nothing worked. The further i could go was to get the phone to recognize it has an update to do vie e-recovery (over wifi / DNS changed). But from there, the phone tries to gather the information from the server and fails to do so.
In Hisuite, i was able to make it so it recognize it has to do an update, but as soon as it tries, it fails to update.
I guess we'll have to wait until end-ish of may

Nope, this thing fails, when tries to install the os on my mobile. On hisuite everything is okay when downloading emui 10 but after nothing happens.
Btw how can I find the preload files? Because I can't find that on firmware finder.

Post the screen of phone info like you did before when you were still on 9.1
Also type this code in phone dialer *#*#2846579#*#* then press 1, then 2 and finally go to the bottom and post the screen

I think I installed an asian version, but it's working perfect! So fast and lovely! I love it. Finally my p20 works normally, no freezing and anything.
