Samsung doesn't want my MONEY or Preorder - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Questions & Answers

Any one else having difficulty trying to pre order or just dealing with Samsung support (or lack of support). Insane. I've spent at least 6 hours total on hold just trying to preorder the Note 10. Every time I place an order, its canceled shortly after.
1st time I called Samsung, I was hung up after 40mins of waiting. The 2nd time I was told "just try it a third time and it happens again, call back". The 3rd time I was told "we will open a tier 2 case and follow back up".
Never got a follow-up as told. Called back AGAIN and was told it could be an issue with Samsung finance. Spent over 90mins on hold for Samsung finance to only confirm all my info is correct. Now i've placed maybe my 12th order? Still canceled.
Call Samsung back AGAIN. Basically told that they don't know how to fix it and I can't use Samsung finance to purchase. After I was already and approved and they ran my credit. SAMSUNG has the worst customer support. Any one else have similar issues?

Is there a Samsung store near you? How about through a carrier?

I'm having similar issue but I'm trying to CANCEL and they keep beating round the bush and won't let me cancel so annoying

I had issues with using a work partner. The company who employs me has a business relationship with samsung (BAE store on the Samsung site) and with that deal I get 50 dollars off and no tax in action to all the other credits offered with the preorder.
Every time i would enter my address or even CC info, it would say “sorry we ran into a problem, please try again later”. I had second level support in on this and submitted photos of the issue, to no avail.
Fortunately, ive another email address that gave me all the credits but I had to pay 55 dollars in tax (California ) so I was able to snag 3 note 10 +’s 512 unlocked for 607 a piece (note 9 trade ins) using this alternative login and one of the 3 will be delivered this wed...
So yeah i had issues last week on the site, so I just took the L and ponied up the tax to get these jokers by Friday......

Pre-ordered the day it was announced thru the Samsung app..got 600 for my S10+ and an additional 200 credit I used on Samsung wireless buds and a fitbit thinggy. Got an email today the phone was shipped. Couldnt have been any easier.

Same happened to me. Finally used a different credit card, online, and it went right through!

I had to cancel my 3rd order because it was being delayed. I called up and the rep spoke with her floor manager. They stated my 3rd order would be in limbo until the first two were processed—meaning when they got my trade ins and verified them . After that samsung would then process the 3rd. Reason is you can only have 2 ordered per household. This is what I was told and rather than argue I just didnt want to waste more time.
Not waiting around for that nonsense, I cancelled that order and resubmitted another one using a debit card that I temporarily applied to my work address. This cleared that hurdle and I re-ordered this AM. Sadly there are no more 512 unlocked versions (my first 2 are 512 unlocked) left to pre order but they had a 256 unlocked version. Still got the 600 dollar credit and gift voucher but they also threw in 4 months of YouTube premium (whatever its called). This is a new addition over the previous orders I placed (they didnt have the YouTube premium). So ill just get a 512 gb card and be done with it. Perhaps ill trade it for the tmo 5G version..

I had similar issue i just ordered mine yesterday but i had to go through the samsung website cause through the samsung shop app it would not let me place my order almost like trying not to give me my 50 dollars off the reservation price. Would set it all up and when i would press place order little spin circle would appear for a second and then nothing it wouldnt order. Went to samy .com and ordered without issue. only issue i see it say delivery expected day sept 11 on the phone with samy as i write to see wth.

Ordered mine on the 10th. Been waiting patiently for shipping notification. Just got notification that my order was cancelled.
I've been on the phone holding for a rep for literally 2 hours and 5 minutes now. I have plenty more money than the cost of the phone on my card and I have absolutely no idea why it would have been canceled. This sucks.

[Q] What is wrong with Best Buy?

I am just extremely frustrated with Best Buy for this Note 4 preorder business. I placed my preoder on 10/9. They said when it is here and ready to pick up, we will send you an email. I have not received an email yet, but it has almost been a full week since preorders have been out. (This is specifically in regards to NYC). It baffles me they are not receiving any Sprint Note 4's (regardless if you ordered the black or white version), but they have all the other carriers (with the exception of Verizon). I've been calling Best Buy on the daily to get an understanding as to why the phone has not arrived yet. Everyday is a different answer. I've had one rep tell me it's Samsung's fault because they haven't shipped them out to us. Another rep told me that they do have some coming in but their delivery days into the store are Wed and Fri. Another rep told me we will get them when we get them and just look out for our email.
What is the point of preordering a phone when it doesn't come in and it is already released to the rest of the market? And how do you not give a customer a valid reason as to why the phone is not yet in your store but rather say oh this is a city wide issue? Shouldn't you try to find out as to what is going with the shipment seeing how this is a FLAGSHIP PHONE for Samsung and why is it only the SPRINT version with no delivery? The sad thing is that I used to work for Best Buy about a decade ago, and the service that we gave was better.
Anyone else running into this issue with Best Buy?
Yep. Same issue here with my wife's white sprint phone. I even preordered both the same day as you, the 9th, but I got my black one release day, hers, I get the same exact run around you are getting. It really sucks.

I preordered mine the day preorders opened up and got an email may Thursday night that my phone had arrived and I could pick it up
I placed my pre-order on 09/26/2014 with the ship to home option to avoid the short shipped supplies to the stores. It finally came on Wednesday and I activated it after work. When I went into the store for my price match (I was billed at $349.99 but they dropped it to $299.99), the store manager told me he can't do anything for me because it was an online order. When I asked for my $200 pre-order/rebate via Samsung, he told me that the promotion was changed and it had to be the phone that was on the line that got the upgrade. I told him that when I placed my pre-order, that was not the case and I expect the promotion listed at the time of my pre-order honored. He again told me that he couldn't do anything for me. After several attempts at calling 888-best-buy and remaining on hold for 15+ minutes each time, I just sent an email off to customer service. It's ridiculous how they really screwed the pooch on this whole pre-order process and now are trying to cheat me out of $250! Definitely the last time I pre-order anything from WORSTbuy, maybe last purchase period....
Pre-ordered mine on 10/15, called BestBuy about 30-35 times (from 17 to 22) and as result they change my "expedite" shipping to "express" shipping. Enough for me to receive phone on evening of 22nd.
Every time I called them I heard same crap "tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow" and on 21st I was told that my delivery will be on 20th??? Yes, day before which already passed. WOW, what a service, they deliver into "past time". I exploded and got mine on 22nd as mentioned earlier.
I believe this might be my last pre-order with best buy ever...
i preordered mine the week preorders came available. when i checked on my preorder i found out i don't really have a preorder and have to wait to see if any extra's show up. I have given up calling as that is useless. Im just gonna sit back and wait to see if i can get one if not i guess i just won't upgrade to a new phone. Lesson learned i will never preorder from best buy again i don't care if they give me a million dollars off my upgrade it just isn't worth it.
I'm so fed up with this crap. I suggest contacting your favorite android news sites and imploring them to give this issue more coverage. Maybe then the higher-ups at these multibillion dollar corporations will finally have something to say about why those who preordered still don't have their devices, or even a rough ETA.
I'm in the same boat, as the rest of you.
I've called the store, and the customer service line, every day. It is definitely Best Buys fault. They try to put the blame on Sprint, but I know several people on AT&T, with the same problem. In the AT&T forums, Best Buy, told them them it was AT&Ts fault.
So, as I said a couple of days ago, either AT&T and Sprint, are working together, to sell less phones, and get less people locked into two year contracts, or Best Buy is responsible for this mess.

Why would Sprint not want me to renew my contract? Even if they do away with unlimited data they can still affect that change regardless of my contract renewal, so I'm confused why you're saying that.

I'm agreeing with you. I'm just giving two possible scenarios. One ridiculous possibility, where Sprint and AT&T, are working together, in a conspiracy to sell less phones, and less two year contracts. The other (real) scenario is, it's ALL BBs fault. (BB blames Sprint, when talking to Sprint customers, and AT&T, when talking to AT&T customers). They refuse to acknowledge their incompetence.
I'm in the same boat. And this will DEFINITELY be the last thing. I ever purchase from best buy.
I think they don't want to honor the 200 credit on ****ty phones. The credit is suppose to end Next saturday.
Lets see what happens then. If they extend it or just let it expire then. If the shortage is so bad. Why do other stores
have plenty of stock? It Bestbuy is just screwing us.
Had no problem here with a black Note 4 preorder. They even held it 2 extra days for me while I was at the BABBQ. Not only that but they let me trade in 2 old phones and gave me $200 each, which paid for the 2 years insurance too!!!
Bestbuy screwed up on this one definitely. I ordered my Note 4 on 10-16 and it started off rough. Found out the associate did not update my email address and told me my phone would be available the 17th. I had to gain access to the account called the store and the customer service line friday sat and sun to run around, i dont knows and our next shipments. Finally i got fed up and sent a letter to a corporate member of Bestbuy with my experience and telling them I more than likely would not be buying another phone from them. Its one thing to tell customers hey your phone won't be available until next week up front. Cool i know how it works and backordering can suck. But to tell people paying their money that you just have to wait, we dont know and be patient is unacceptable. Explained the customers are there first priority and are the reason they are successful and deserve communication regardless. Basically, the end story is i'll be getting a gift card in the mail. I also got a call promptly the next morning that my phone was available. Smh.
See i thought this was just me, same issue of pre-ordering on 10/9 except the employee was new and didnt even do the preorder it correctly for me, just charged me for a $50 gift card, found out when i went 10/17 to get phone, have called every day since and nothing now i was reading the $200 trade in is only valid till 11/1?

Samsung promotion had nothing to do with Bestbuy preorder.
Update - So I got an email yesterday morning that my phone was ready to pick-up. You basically have a 24 hour WINDOW to pick up your phone after they email you. How does one set a capped window period to pick up a new phone when the preorders are LATE to begin with? I mean we are waiting and waiting but we could not even be in town when this email comes. I think there is something wrong with that whole system. Anyways, I was lucky that I had a Best Buy Mobile Manager taking care of me. They did honor the $200 credit (after I had to remind him). Purchase Price = $126 (after $200 trade-in) plus some change. The phone itself is a beast (everything from the screen to the materials is awesome). In terms of accessories, I would suggest you guys buy all your **** before and have it ready because Best Buy does not really have many accessories in store. Also, there were issues with activation while in store. The manager called Sprint and they had said that their provisioning services were down nationwide so I had no service for about 4-6 hours. All in all, don't preorder from Best Buy unless you want the hassle. LESSON LEARNED
A while back, just after the Samsung promotion was announced, I fired off an email to Samsung asking them to do something better with an offer at Best Buy. An instant trade in credit on any working smart phone and $50 upgrade bonus on top of that should satisfy most US buyers and leave a lot of others not so fortunate, envious. Had the phones been broadly and readily available and Best Buy chains fully aware of the policies, this would have been a hit that many would have been happy with and look to replicate with repeated patronage. My local BB got it right with some pre-launch dialogue and not so good broad communication on the terms of any working smart phone looked up as $0/recycle. The word was put out to other mobile assistants while I was there, the third person in line. They seemed to have stock and were even trying to get customers the color they preferred. Mileage varies; sorry not everyone got the same or better experience. But to me this was a win and would pre-order there again. I don't think it was all Best Buy's fault. Ample and broad stock may have made this much better of an experience for most. Add it's good to hear that Best Buy is honoring the terms for those in-store pre-orders that were late. Some stores also made exception before hand on terms to satisfy those made online to home delivery because the pre-orders were longer being taken. Cheers and congrats to all who got the terms right. Regards to those that didn't or weren't eligible.

Pretty sure this whole thing is due to best buy overselling the 200 trade in credit. It runs until 11/1. Guaranteed on 11/2, note 4 's will be available for people walking in. Every sprint store in the area has them readily available. This is not just sprint either, best buy has no stock for any carrier and still has not full filled their preorders. At least within 100 mile radius of costa mesa ca. Bummer it was a good deal. Also if your pre order comes in after 11/1 supposedly the 200 trade in deal is out the window, said my local store.

That's my thought. That's why I picked it up at the sprint store.

Best Buy's semi-official stance is that they will be honoring trade in's for all preorders, as mentioned here.
While I don't hesitate to think poorly of Best Buy, this was a multi-million dollar ad campaign - my local stores were slathered in banners, signs, stands, displays, etc touting the $200 trade in FOR PREORDERS ONLY, not to mention the press spreading word (blogs, etc). I can't see how Best Buy could just renege on the the core and only aspect of their advertising, especially after money has already changed hands. Now on the other hand, I think anyone wanting to buy within the extended offer period (non-preorder) will be out of luck, as incoming stock is going to preorders instead and by the time that equalizes the promotion will be over.

I'm done... S7 with Free TV and Gear VR or something else?

I am done with the Note 7. Don't get me wrong. I paid straight cash for the device 870+ Tax @ Verizon. I love the phone. It's amazing and I've had no issues. But the thing is with all the media and the press -- the phone has pretty much devalued very quickly and will likely stay this way. When purchasing an unlocked device in full; I do it knowing that it will at least net me 1/3rd of the cost of the phone in recoup -- more if I find a deal for trading in. It won't be that way; So after getting approval Verizon will issue me a full refund, and I think I am just going to get an S7 Non edge variety and call it a day. With all the promos and rebates by switching phones im $350 in profit.. and don't have to worry about a device that within a years time will be easy to find for $50...
However... Pixel was anounnced, a bit underwhelmed as on SD card and I have 256 GB SD card that I port with me. So unless there is a better device with IP68 and Finger Print scanner I don't know of, S7 it is for me... what about you guys? Anything better? thoughts?
well, if ni issues so far, I really cant understand your point, I chose this device because of its performance and premium looks an feel, and of course, the s pen, I, in my case, never think about resale values, or something of the sort, I just THINK before getting a new device, as when I decided not to get the note 5, so, it is just a matter of what you want, and, who can offer it, for me, it is the note 7, eyes closed, hands down, period.
I love the Note7 myself. Im in a replacement unit and have had no problems. I will be keeping it unless they do another recall... in which i will switch it out for another if available. If theres not, I'll go back to my GN4... no other phone is better to me except the note 7.
Pretty sure one of the problems with keeping it (assuming it survives)is that os updates will likely be very lacking for this device. Already more scarce than normal.

Well there are now 4 confirmed reports including a 13 year old girl. Note 7 is toast. If the carriers stop carrying it.. and you want to keep it.. you won't be able to return and upgrade to note 9 or whatnot.. anyway my story..
I am extremely pissed; After buying my Galaxy Note 7 from a Sams Club, then paying it off in full I was forced to switch the phone at a VERIZON retail store because I paid it off in full. With the new issues with the Note 7 popping up I no longer feel safe with even the exchanged model and wanted a refund. I spent 2 hours with Verizon on the phone on 10/07/2016 just to ensure the issue didn't happen like it did with the first exchange. I spent FOUR hours in a verizon store before they were finally able to exchange it from 6pm till 10pm. I called last night, got the okay to return my Note 7 for a FULL refund to local verizon, they even notated the account. Woke up and went in at 11 am this morning? Guess what. THEY SAID THEY CANT DO IT. they had no records I'd have to goto sams club. Spent from 11am-2pm in the store before arep from verizon 1800 finally picked up. They said NOW I would indeed have to take it back to Sam Club, they called the local Sams club manager who said it was fine.
I get to Sams club it's anything but fine. I spend the next 4 hours from 2pm till 6pm at Sams Club; They can't refund anything but the Taxes, and then they cant even refund that because Verizon already replaced the phone (which I called in and got CONFIRMATION I could do it). I then spent 2 hours on the phone with verizon rep only to get hung up on after 1:20 mins waiting on someone to pick up the phone. I then call a local verizon and low and behold it routes me to 1800 customer service INSTANTLY. They say they can refund $870 but I would have to get the taxes back from sam, I agree sams agrees; then wait the IMEI changed because the switch NOPE cant do it.
So, needing to FLY for a business trip I activated a Galaxy S7 and left my phone there so they can work with their Verizon rep to get the other device and pay me back my taxes, no eta on that.
I had to get a new number on my SWITCH because Verizon has my old returned note marked as still owing payments when I PAID IT OFF IN FULL a week after I bought it. now I am home after spending 11am-6pm working on this issue on my only day off needing to catch a flight in the morning ( a no go with the Note 7). However I have been on hold from 6:10 pm awaiting a representative to answer the verizon customer service line so I can switch my number from my note 7 to my S7. I am done. DONE I am beyond pissed off -- verizon cost me around 10 hours of my time which is valued at nearly $20 an hour and I am still on hold with them now. With customer service like this I will pay off my S7 when I get my refund from Verizon and switch carriers. I don't need these headaches and they don't communicate with one another.
SO WORD OF ADVICE. DON'T PAY OFF YOUR DEVICE OR YOU WILL BE SCREWED.
Having owned an s7 and tinkering with my wife's s7 edge I can safely say that there is no phone that comes close to the look feel and performance of the note 7. Not since the palm treo have I loved a phone this much. I will definitely lately stick with this one for the long haul. I had the for about 5 days and it's simple amazing. I could care less about what anyone says or thinks about this phone .

New text from Verizon. 10/17-16 - 100$ Bill credit to return note 7 by 10/19

And All ACC refunded that were purchased from verizon for your note 7. IF YOU PURCHASE ANOTHER SAMSUNG PRODUCT TO REPLACE.
Anyone else get this? Still not sure its worth wasting the upgrade at this point..
It's already been posted in recall threads.
The only thing tied to 10/19 is the free overnight shipping. If that matters with many phones not being available till Nov, Dec.
Nioceee
Great idea, but there is no way for me to return my note 7. The store will not take it.
Verizon rep1 said to call Samsung for a box.
Samsung said to call Verizon for a box.
Verizon rep2 said the box will be delivered in 3-5 days (already passed).
So I have a phone I have been charged for that I cannot return. I told them I am not paying for a phone you will not arrange for me to return. They said they will not disconnect my service for not paying that equipment fee. I dont know how much I believe them on that one.....
Upgraded to a 7 plus almost 2 weeks ago and still have not received this $25 credit or full refund.. or even a box to return a note 7.. instead i went back to the store and got denied twice.. I even video recorded the manager denying me that way i have physical evidence if something was to go down terribly to us consumers or me for that matter...
Use this to your advantage.. i am now sitting on a $900 phone for just basically paying the tax of the device and 1 month on the INSTALLMENT plan..
My main device is the iPhone 7 plus and i use it as a hot spot for my note 7 ... the power of two is wonderful

Note 7 Recall Torture. ANy Help Please?

I am very frustrated with Note 7 recall, and I am UNABLE to EXCHANGE my note 7 with another phone. I NEED help.
I initially paid 30% and purchased it from Sam's club on 8/19. I paid the remaining 70% ($615.99) at AT&T store on 8/20. When the phone was recalled, I went to AT&T store, and they asked me to go to Sams for replacement. There, Sams could not activate my phone as it was coming up as not eligible for upgrade. They called AT&T representative, and he advised them to override it by putting me on an installment plan. This is despite the fact, I had shown them the receipt of full payment. AT&T rep on phone told them that that is the only way to activate my new phone. They did it on 9/10.
It was later exchanged for second note 7 (unfortunately), when it became available. Now, AT&T wont take off my installment plan, and won't replace my Note 7. I was directed to go to Sam's club. I went back. The Sam's club informed me that they need to put me on another installment plan to activate, if I have to exchange the phone! RIDICULOUS, isn't it.
I called AT&T and lodged an official complaint on Oct 1st. I was told that it will be solved by 6th. Never received any information. I called back on 7th, and it was expedited (after explaining the whole story for 1 and half hours), and was informed that it will be resolved by 10th. No response from AT&T till 13th. I called again and spent 2 hours explaining my pathetic situation. She took pity on my, and promised that it will be solved very soon.
I called on 17th, and 18th. Each time talking to a different representative, and spending between 1-2 hours each time. Only verbal assurances, and lip sympathy.
On 18th, the manager felt bad and said she would send a phone for free overriding the price. I was glad she took some firm action. However, she informed me that in Mississippi the sales tax has to be paid even if it is free. I agreed to pay the sales tax. I hung up, and received an email from my credit card that I was charged $850.64, instead of $55 for sales tax.
I immediately called in less than hour of this transaction to cancel it. The AT&T cannot find any charges to my account, and hence cannot cancel it. I called again after 2 hours, and still they cannot find any such charges. I called on 19th morning only to be told that they cannot cancel those charges as the item has been in the shipping process. I should not accept the shipment, when it arrives.
To my frustration, FedEx guy leaves the phone box at the front door.
I called Samsung, they told me that they cannot help, but suggested that AT&T should exchange as I paid major portion of the price with AT&T. Now, I have paid off the phone, but still have the installment for the same phone.
I am flying out tomorrow, and I am stuck with this note 7. Any Advice, what should I do?
Thanks.

Yup. He did leave it. I had to mail it back to AT&T this afternoon. I may probably get an old phone in the mean time and switch the sim card, and take it with me. I do not know how to get this issue resolved. I don't have any AT&T phone numbers for people at the higher levels, who can take decisions.

how to get my credit ?

hello pre-ordered the ultra from Sprint and I just received it today and I was wondering how to get my $200 in Samsung shop credit?

You should be able to open the shop Samsung app. If it doesn't work, wait until the official release and if it still doesn't work contact Samsung.

registering starts on march 4th
Ok thank you all
Just spoke with Samsung and they said to try again on March 4th.
In my experience when placing the order on Samsung's website, the credit isn't something they give you, rather you spend it as you place your order. Anything you didn't add is essentially lost as it's a one time deal. That's what I was told. I was pretty upset because I thought with after getting the Galaxy Buds+ I would save $50 after the case I wanted was restocked. I ended up disputing the credit loss and they emailed me a promo code with the remaining $50 which was nice. Problem resolved!

I read their terms and it says, if you don't use any of the credit, you'll get it emailed to you 15 days after delivery of your phone. If you used only a partial, you'll lose whatever's remaining. Glad Samsung sent you a promo code for that $50. They sent me one for $70 because they kept canceling my order.
I chatted with Samsung today informimg that I received my pre-ordered Ultra from T-mobile yesterday and I wanted to know how to claim my $200 store credit.
They informed that the promotion starts on 03/05 and to check the inbox in the Shop Samsung app and the instructions will be there on how to get the $200 credit which involves uploading my receipt in which they will then verify.
Attached are my chat logs for reference
The credit is active on Shop now, but mine did not work the first time. I contacted Samsung and they said that the servers are overwhelmed right now. They also recommended that I uninstall and reinstall the app and to try again. It worked okay that time and I was able to complete the registration process for the credit. Now it's just pending approval.
I did mine first thing last night at like 11pm central time. Went through fine on the samsung app. It now says pending approval. Think this is kind of a stupid process. They should have supplied codes with the phone or have a way to auto validate. Its been close to 12 hours now and is still pending approval. I chatted with samsung last night and they said it can take anywhere from 4-6 weeks for you to get your credit after approval. Hope the guy was an idiot and that actually isnt the case..... all this for buds+....

So i contacted the chat again and the support guy wasn't much help, but almost right on the 12 hour mark, just got a notification that is has been approved. Now it says "Congratulations! Your submission has been approved." and then below it says "Your Samsung credit will be delivered soon. Your Samsung credit will be delivered in approximately 4-6 weeks" fml.....
I submitted mine, says currently under review. I had to submit proof of purchase, did anyone else?
Worked for me. Got almost instant approval and no proof of purchase.

yeah, every one has to. I think its to see the date of purchase to prove you pre-ordered it. Which i get, but its still stupid since the phone isnt even on shelves yet. so yes, we obviously pre-ordered it...

The way to auto validate is buying it from Samsung directly.
I love when people get bonuses and they complain that it's not instant.

It is a "Bonus" , but i purchased the phone with the knowledge this $200 credit comes with the phone. It was apart of my decision in buying the phone. A true bonus is something you didnt expect in my opinion. So yes, i am perturbed about their process for claiming the reward. I registered for the credit within the hour of it going live and am still waiting for the email with the credit code. In my personal opinion, this is a bit ridiculous and the conspiracy theorist in me wonders if this is by design to make you buy from samsung direct in the future.

the approval was instant for me (like couple hours). the credit will take some time because its not just 1 or 2 people getting it.
this was simlar to my note 9 preorder promotion, when i got the free akg headphones. the approval took longer than this one (about a week).
the headphones got delivered in about 3 weeks.
just be patient. its not a life or death situation

Samsung doesn't care where you buy the phone, they make money either way. What they don't want is you buying the phone and returning it yet so getting the bonus. If you buy it from them, and you don't return the bonus items, they just reduce your refund. If you buy it from Verizon and claim the bonus, it's harder to get their money back if you return the phone.
I plan on getting a couple of 45 watt chargers, but that's only half of the credit. What are you guys planning on getting?
