Dead Corrupt Micro SD Controller?

I have a dead micro sd card that I'm more then certain the Controller has burnt out. I was going to try to replace the controller with another but am having no luck finding the same make/model. Two questions.
1.Does size matter? I can only find a few 16gb cards and don't want to spend that much. Could I use the controller from a smaller say 1gb card?
2.Class... As you may know there are different classes of SD card that characterize the read write speeds. The dead card is a class 2 controller. Again I cannot find a SD card with a class 2 controller. Can I use a Class 6, or any other? Thought I'd ask before I try.
Thanks for your time,
B

[Q] Internal Storage

Has any one tried.to.see if its possible to change the.internal storage in the galaxy nexus from 32 gb to something bigger? What type of storage device is it?
Its a flash unit attached to the main board. You won't be able to change it.

It is not possible, unless you want to attempt to solder a new chip in place of the one currently there.
buy and use an OTG cable with usb microsd reader and a microsd card.
i have the GSM 16GB, but i have a 32GB microsd i connect to the phone. i store videos and other large files on that.

[Q] mSATA SSD in TAB 3 7.0

I just had a question. I dont have any solid data on this yet but is there a mSATA SSD in the TAB 3? If there is would it be possible to open the tablet and swap it out? I know it wont be that easy..
I have seen 64GB mSATA SSD's go for cheap and 128GB mSATA's for that matter.. The cost of SSD have fallen tremendously so.. If all it takes is to make a backup of the OS on to a MSD card then make the swap reinstall the OS then that would be awesome..
I tried searching to see if anyone has done anything similar on here but it seems like everyone sticks with the hardware and mods the crap out of the software..
Any help would be great thanks again.

No it won't work because mobile devices use a kind of storage that is called flash storage or nand storage
The memory in our devices is soldered directly to the board not in a msata socket for them to do so would make the device too thick. And currently 8 16 32 is the sizes available the difference is in the density of the chip the put on the board. Think of it as the soldered a micro SD card to the board. That said I have seen some cheap tablets just use a second sdcard as system memory.

micro SD card - which?

Hi
Which SD card do you recommend to expand memory in 16 GB Nvidia Shield?
I use these 2 Cards in my Nvidia Shield TV
http://www.samsung.com/us/computing...vo-256gb-memory-card-w-adapter-mb-mc256da-am/
and

The Samsung card is ALOT faster but the price is ALOT higher compared to the PNY card
Do you use one of this as your internal storage for applications data?
External USB3 SSD is way faster. You can buy an SSD and external enclosure seperatly to save €/$/£/¥.
Any recommendations on an SSD?
Because of the the promotion that Samsung ran with the Note 7 you should be able to go on CL and get one for as little as $100 dollars.
I use one of these external SSDs not had any issues.

Nvidia Shield TV 2019 only 8GB. Upgrading Micro SD Card

OK So I bought a Nvidia Shield TV thinking it would have the 16GB of storage as previous versions and no it doesn't the storage got decrease to 8GB which is a joke and the RAM got decreased to 2GB which is also a joke. I don't know what Nvidia was thinking, they even removed the USB ports.
Anyways I used a 16GB Micro SD card I had to expand the internal storage and installed a bunch of apps. But now I want to upgrade the Micro SD card to a bigger one without losing the apps or data.
I read of ways of cloning an Android Micro SD card to a bigger one without losing the data. Will this work for the Shield TV if I formatted the Micro SD Card as System Storage?
You should have bought the Pro then
Not sure what nvidia was thinking when they did this. The os is 32bit, low space and ram not very future friendly. The price is not exactly cheap either.

im shocked they even went with a 16gb model? i thought new one would use tegra x2 or xavier and have 4gb ram with 32gb and 64gb options. shame they dont bring back the hard drive. at this rate the best shield tv device is the original 2015 model that has a hdd.
next model will have 640kB of memory and external floppy drive and we will still buy it
