Black curves at the bottom of screen in 7t...INDIA - OnePlus 7T Questions & Answers

Hi guys.. I need some help..
I bought a 7t just 5 days back.. I didn't noticed it in the beginning but as I started using it more I noticed that there are black curves appearing on both lower side of screen at e of unlocking.. they first appear a bit bigger then reduce the size and then disappears..
But they don't appear always only few times particularly when I unlock it after sometime.. I think of it as a defect as it doesn't look some animation or something but yes a bug maybe.. So I plan on replacing this device but before that I thought about taking expert advice here.. I could've gone to service centre as well but there are none of them in my state..
Plz help.. I am attaching a pic here from the video cuz I was unable to upload mp4 file..

Google assistant is built into your phone. And what I think might be the reason for it to appear at times is that you haven't used that gesture and the phone is waiting for you to use that gesture ( its shown because it needs to let the user know that swipe from right or left corner will bring up the Google assistant)
I use my assistant regularly so it doesn't show me the gesture animation nowadays.

i was just making sure it was not the rom he had installed, sorry if you thought i was talking about redoing the rom and that would fix it but their is no way a rom could fix that he prolly dropped his phone 1 to many times
Yeah, i have dropped it a number of times.. but never it happened like this. this has been happening since a week now.. I have WM6 Premuim V2 by Dutty.. Its been on my phone since almost a year now.. Recently I had installed WM6.1 S64 Lite.. But that was very unstable and slowed the phone down.. So now I am back on WM6 Premuim V2 by Dutty..
Hope this helps..
You should DL the htc maintenance manual and try reconnecting the lcd cables. I had whitescreen issues and bottom of screen jumping t top so I bit the bullet and opened hermes up. was considerably easier than expected ( though do yourself a fovour and get the torque set (torque 6) ) and had it pulled apart then put back together in less than an hour. there is a lot of unneeded dissassembly in the maintenance manual (just take apart whats needed) but read thoroughly and do step by step and you should have no problem. Hope this helps you out...cheers....

hehehe that will work for sure.
Yep.. it was the issue with LCD.. also my screen would go fully white and nothing would happen after that.. That happens everytime I slide it.. It is found that the slide strip is the issue.. so that has to be replaced for it to solve..

Display problem

Hi,
Factory reset - done!
Flash Android 2.3 - done!
I had the original Android 2.2 before, so the software is not the reason for my HTC Wildfire display problem.
Display image is moving up/down, the line of notification with signal, battery level..., is going in the middle, bottom of display and so on.... I have a screenshoot and a picture made with a very bad mobile camera, but hope to be enough!
I think few water drops inside 3.5 mm audio jack could be the reason, the warning LED(red one) is not working too.
Had someone the same issue? A way to fix this?

...menu bar is floating from bottom to top, pushing all icons/options and it is nearly impossible to hit the right icon/option. Also when there is a keyboard, it moves up and down but it always reacts when pressed on position where it should normaly stand.
Thanks! So... I'm not the only one with this issue.
I think the reason for this screen it's because i dropped the phone before (3-4 days), but not noticed this right in that moment...
Anyway, I easy dropped the phone with intention several times recetly and the screen was OK for a day... don't know what can it be...
I'll try to find out how can be this problem fixed in a service and how much have to pay for all this...
After all, it seems my display don't want to turn on anymore.
I turned on my phone and it's working, it's able to receive calls with no problem, digitizer is working too because I can answer by tapping the known part of display where is that button!
I want to buy a new display and replace it. Could be anything else that make my display not turning on?

LG G4 Touch Screen issues. Ghost Touches?

I've been able to replicate this issue on my G4 (815T Australian model) on a daily basis, just on the instagram app though.
I recorded a video of it. Slowmo part shows the issue
https://goo.gl/photos/F823e125PQckCPLp6
The screen seems confused and it just scrolls the other way even if my thumb wasn't touching the screen.
Factory data reset did not fix anything.
Are you able to replicate this LG G4 owners?
I don't use Instagram, so can't help with that app, sorry.
But if you go into Developer Options, and turn on "Show touch data", it might help add some more info to the discussion. It will show a trace on the screen of what the phone's touchscreen interpreted from your last tap/swipe.
It would presumably show a swipe up, and then back down, when you're getting these ghost touches that change the scroll direction. But perhaps it could also help show if swipes are interpreted the same way in other apps. It might help you learn a little more about what the phone is seeing, at least.
Thanks for the video and everything but why a new thread? Plenty of videos on the main thread.
Is another thread really necessary?

Might be, because this only happens with IG. I've got the exact same problem, only with IG and its very annoying.

Apologies, first time I posted it I was thinking it was just Instagram-specific.

To me it looks like it is IG specific because I don't have this problem with any other app
You can try to change the touch feedback time from short to medium under settings/accessibility/motor & cogination. This will reduce the touch feedback time. Give it a try, and see if it gets better.

Interesting. Not keen on rooting though. =\
So you reckon it's just a software issue?

Well this problem is only related to the LG G4 and IG for me...I don't have any other touchscreen problems with this phone. So for me I guess this is not hardware related. During the day I just had 2 small "ghost touches", way better than before. Will see how it goes the next few days...
Edit :
after a view days, it looks like it didn't solve this issue. Today I notice the ghost touches were there again in IG
Force GPU rendening under Developer options somewhat helped.
The new v10f on my Australian G4 didn't fix the issue as well.
Any updates on this? I had same issue. N this is a replacement unit after 2.5 weeks of waiting
Just day one and this ghost touch come up.
I also have this problem
Did you solve the problem?
I am facing similar issue.between...i am not using ig.
I've had this issue as well (not just IG) and sent the phone back for servicing. It was sent back to me with a report showing that they'd done a few things but the problem is still there. I'd been thinking I'd send it back in once more and ask them to have another look. I'm getting ghost touches everywhere and quite a bit, it's very annoying.
Someone mentioned there was another, large thread about this issue but I can't seem to find it, can anyone point me to it?
Hi, I posted this in a new thread yesterday as I couldn't find anything. Never thought to search for 'ghost taps' duh.
Every now and then when just doing normal things on the my phone it totally freaks out and all by it self it suddenly starts to tap random parts of the desktop, slides the pages, opens apps, closes apps, goes into calculator and a bunch of buttons are pressed randomly. It's almost like someone has hacked my phone and is trolling me by just tapping randomly on the phone.
Just today when looking at Facebook it closed the app, scrolled down notifications, data was turned off and wifi turned on.
I thought it might have been my screeen protector, bit of moisture in it or something. Took that off and still does it. Took out the battery for a minute and still does it.
It happened a few months ago then nothing for ages and now it's started again this weekend.
Thought it might have been only when connected to data but has now done it when offline.
Any one got a solution? Does a custom rom fix?

Screen Flicker Issue on Honor 7X BND-AL10 (Chinese Version)

I just bought the phone and I'm experiencing a screen flickering. At the time it occurs the screen becomes unresponsive. The bottom 3/4th part turns black. It keeps on flickering. The audio works when it occurs, but touch won't . It happens occasionally.
.
.
.
Maybe it occurs coz one day my phone dropped to the ground.
Any help would be appreciated.
[Update] : This happens only when using YouTube for a long time.

Thats the problem of YouTube not of the phone
Contacted huawei customer care regarding the same problem, they gave me an ota update which fixed the problem.
I used to get it but stopped having it. i didnt get any update. maybe it was youtubes issue after all
It's because of in-built YouTube application.. same happening to me as well. Finding a way to uninstall in-built YouTube app and download it again from playstore
It's not the phone's fault
YouTube isn't optimised for the phone yet so there might be some issues like the one you mentioned, but i haven't seen this problem yet at all.
Thank you everyone those who answered my question.
The problem was solved after clearing the data and updating the app.

An issue with calls dropping on S20 Ultra - Proximity sensor issue?

So I have a very weird issue and I'll try to explain the best I can;
For some reason, ever since the S10+ I've had issues with Samsung phones, I think its something to do with the proximity sensor that's now under the glass, I'll explain as I'm getting similar and more issues on my S20 Ultra.
So last year when I had an S10+ and when I was on a call, which I mainly use my left ear (I think my right ear is a few db less so I use my left) I would quite frequently seem to activate the menu (top right) and therefore end up pressing things with my ear, unbeknown to me, sometimes I'd add a 2nd person to the call or simply put the other person on hold! This happened a lot and I was close to sending it off for repair even though I used apps to test to ensure the proximity sensor was working correctly but in the end, I sold it and got an OnePlus 7 Pro, which I didn't have an issue with. During my time with the S10+ I noticed that even though I held the earpiece to my ear I could see the screen light up and that's where I think I'd end up pressing the screen accidentally as I've just explained.
Roll on to now where I'm facing similar issues but also I'm finding if I need both of my hands and therefore use my left shoulder to keep my phone against my ear the call disconnects as if I'm hanging up. Now it seems a straightforward resolution which is not to do that but I've never had this issue before and I've tested it out quite a bit when I do this the screen isn't on and my face is nowhere near the end button!! It's really driving me crazy at the moment and annoying my other half who's normally on the phone to me when this happens!!
Anyone got any suggestions or thoughts, does it happen to anyone else or am I just being stupid??
I haven't gone down the route of resetting the phone yet but I'm going to consider it.
