Curious about benchmark scores of Pixel 3a vs Pixel 3a XL - Google Pixel 3a XL Questions & Answers

Hi, i've been planning to buy either 3a or 3a XL for some time, but i noticed something when i read reviews. Why is the 3a XL's benchmark scores higher than the 3a? Aren't they the same processor and stuff?
Thanks in advance for those who answer.

The hardware is the exact same on both except for the screen and battery. Picking between the 2 will come down to what size you want. I came from the Nexus 6 so I couldnt imagine going with the comparatively tiny 3a. If you like a smaller phone and can live with a smaller battery get the 3a. These are fantastic devices, especially for the price.

Maybe because pixel 3a has to render more pixels. Pixel 3a screen resolution: 2220 1080
3a XL: 2160 1080.

Too bad there isn't some place you could look to see the comparison... Hmmm...

Basically, the 3a XL wins here, but by such a small margin you would never know it. Pick the one that fits your preference for size. I got the XL, but honestly after having it for a while I wish I had gotten the plain 3a model as the XL is just too big for single handed use.

Manufacturing discrepancies

So I just just got my second Galaxy Nexus as my work phone. I also have one for personal use. My wife has one also, plus I returned my personal Gnex twice for screen problems.
I'm bored and I figured I would post the differences between the 3 we have at home, and the 2 I returned.
All 5 phones have been perfectly identical in 4g and 3g connecting, hardware performance etc. The only thing that has been different between all 5 phones are the screens. None of the screens have been equal to any of the others. Some have banding, some have purplish grays, while one had an issue with max brightness. Out of the three we currently have now, I would say that only one is near perfect, while the other 2 are adequate enough to keep (one produces banding on grays, and the other has purple tones associated with grey colors).
Why are all the screens so different? is it amoled? Is it just the GNEX? I have had plenty of LED, LCD, and CRT's monitors in the past, and a few amoled screens, but I haven't experienced anything like this before. I'm currently sitting in front of three identical LED monitors and they all produce the same effect on the same settings.
Picture of my 2 phones ( sorry not good detail. Using another phone to take pictures)

I honestly love this phone so much! That being said, if you have the ability to wait to purchase until the fall, I would wait for the Pixel 2 or whatever it is going to be called. Google will have time to improve on features and make it a solid phone. But that is just my opinion.

I have prepared a LG Q6 skin to replicate the Google Pixel 2 XL design.
This looks awesome on my phone and has sides, back front , and a fudged Finger Print Back to imitate the same look for my LG Q6.
Within 200 USD i have a Pixel XL 2 worth 1000 USD.

I have the same problem on my Pixel 1.
This happens with any camera; it depends on the refresh rate of the screen and camera. You could try changing your locale to the US or UK, depending on what you're on now. This usually changes the refresh rate of the camera.
Yeah, there are multiple threads at the Google Pixel forums about this. But don't waste your time going through them. They basically just say all phones have this, it's all in your head, reboot the phone, run it is safe mode. clear camera cache, blah, blah. Since nothing has been done about it since the phone came out, t is probably hardware and not software. I compared my Pixel 2XL to a Note 4 and Nexus 5X, and the pixel has the worst banding.
Here's a typical thread, though not the most annoying. In many, the shills will claim it is the same as all phones have, and repeat that over and over.

Bestek multi port cigarette lighter adaptor

Hello again! So you might know by now I am always in the market for power supplies that will trigger fast charge on a Nexus 6P, Google Pixel or Pixel 2 device! Well I found this cigarette lighter adaptor from Bestek that supplies more than 2.4Amp to the USB port plus has 2 additional cigarette lighter female sockets for more connections!
There are some better pictures on ebay than I could possibly take, but found it for a much lower price on Amazon if you are interested in snagging one of these.
I just upgraded to a Pixel 2XL and was very interested in how well it can charge my new device. I was unaware that the Pixel 2XL actually kicks into charge overdrive when you turn off the screen. So it took a while to capture this image showing it supplying 2.7 Amps!

Add to this, the capability of supplying almost 5 Amps total, and being able to switch each side off and on independently! You have a 12V cigarette lighter socket and USB port per side! Plus you have a display telling you how much current is being used! You can't beat this for the price!
