Using a Mi A3 in France with Free Moblie, and RCS working perfectly, nothing special to do with Android Messages, just activate chat functionnality

RCS depends on mobile operator availability. I have it working without any extra effort as well, guide is for those whose operator ignores RCS deployment. Although I find it utterly useless, RCS is years behind other chatting services and I just keep it disabled (I'm using Textra SMS anyway).

RCS works perfectly but problem now is that the only person I can message in RCS is myself.
This reminds me of Google Allo. . . .

As the official rollout begins , we can expect wide spread adoption. For now contacts using RCS are definitely limited

perfectly working on Airtel india. Also verified working on Jio.

I didnt get any message at the bottom of the screen. And it shows chat features arent available

is this available with jio ?

Yes, it is available, didn't personally test it out but many users reported success with Jio as well

Working perfectly fine with Airtel on Nokia 6.1 Plus

Thanks the article helped me and now RCS is enabled in my phone.

Hi guys,
Wanted to test RCS, can anyone please pm me to share number to check if this is working for me. Please. Thank you

So I've tried the xda YouTube guide... Can't set it up. In the RCS flags, otp pattern isn't getting applied, like I choose the correct option, hit apply, exit the app and open messages, to see no change, bringing up RCS flags again gives me an empty "otp pattern" box

Now beta no longer needed. Works on stable tooo.

I have joined the beta program in message but in activity launcher the RCS setting in not showing. Also i have installed carrier service. I am using mi a3 phone with jio and Vodafone sim. Please help me how to enable chat message

Today its working for me, too. I assume it was a server overload.
This is latest version of BBM (ver 1.0.0.72). Can you change your link @albysajan. Tested. Working 100%. I dont want to make a new thread.

Latest BBM ver 1.0.2.83 is fully compatible with Android 4.4 on Nexus 7 (2012)
I have found previous versions force-closing on me all the time.
Unfortunately I cannot provide the link, you need to sideload it.

Why does anyone still use BBM when there's so many to choose from out there?
Surly just nostalgic?

[Q] Is my M9 the only one that wants a SIP to dial from the Contacts (People App)

Am I missing a setting:
Every time that I try to dial a number from my contacts in the "People" app, the phone states, "No Internet Calling Account" with a further description, "There are no Internet calling accounts on this phone. Add one now?" The cancel or add buttons both work, but I just want to use the phone to dial!
Bad programming, or are you required to now have a SIP account setup on the phone to dial your contacts?
It is interesting to me that this setting would be defaulted to use internet calling... (wonder if it was from installing an app!)
I found in settings under the heading of Call, Use Internet Calling was set at For all calls when data network is available.
I changed this to "Only for Internet calls" and now everything works fine!
Hopefully this will be helpful for someone else... .
See if this helps:

Yeah but when you turn it on, it wants a SIP account for VoLTE. Yet Verizon hasn't provided the SIP account details needed for it.

Mine does not do that.
What about if you click on the phone icon and then on the top right click on the three dots and then settings. At the bottom is an option under "Internet Call Settings" there is another option that says Use Internet Calling. Mine is set to "Only for Internet Calls".

mate20x hong kong version tethering problem

my mate20x from hk, should be same as grobal version as it came with google services.
the new problem i found was when i share wifi to others my phone will go offline and cannot connect to internet.
i found out it was an old problem for many huawei phones.
I have the exact same issue with the 3uk sim. Hot-spot works with ee sim correctly but not with 3uk sim. I was on the phone to 3uk today, changed apn settings but nothing happened. I bloody did a hard reset but that still didn't rectify the issue. Threes technical support said they will call me in few hours to see if they can find any solution. I have the global version from wonda.
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I found the solution from previous Huawei forums. Add a new apn and where it says apn type paste this default, mms, supl,ia,dun, entitle
Magically that solves the issue.
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I have attached the picture, just change the apn type in your new apn. If the phone doesn't let you save the setting after editing then just press back button. And select the edited apn. Then put your Hot-spot on.

Thanks but..
I too have the global version from wonda. And i'm with 3(uk)
Imagine my disappointment when your fix didn't work. :crying:
I get a "your carrier does not allow you to add dun APN's" message and the new apn is not there when i use the back key.
I'm on unlimited data and 30Gb tether.
Mine works without any issues now after adding the new apn. I almost use it every day for work purpose. Try this may be, reset the network settings. Then try to add the new apn. Make sure in the apn type don't leave any space between the commas. Press the back key and see what happens.

My oneplus 5 could and still can tether.
I have tethering on my contract.
Unlimited data on device, 30Gb of which is tetherable.
I heard they removed the tether cap, but i've never been anywhere near 30Gig so i don't care.
thks. that worked!

I got this too, seemed there as the default APN and then one for tethering, removing the 'dun' from the hotspot APN and saving made it work for me - now hotspot and phone data are working.

MMS group option unavailable in Google Messages app

I have a Pixel 3 XL, my carrier is Orange FR.
On my previous HTC U11, the MMS group option was available in the settings of the Google Messages application with the same SIM and carrier.
On my new Pixel 3 XL, this option is unavailable, by default it is SMS group which is set and so I can not send a single MMS to multiple contacts.
Anyone having this problem ? Anyone having a solution ? ?
Nota: is it related to RCS support ?
Did you check in Messages>Settings>Advanced>Group Messaging? The choices are:

I had the same issue first when I got this phone , WiFi calling would not kick in at all although the setting was on. 4 months after I have received an update and this resolved the issue , no option for Volte however when I call someone majority of calls are marked as HD call but I guess this only works if other party has a fairly modern handset. I am on Three UK

I'm in France, and everything is working good. I have Vowifi activated and working and as marek03 said, my calls are also marked as HD.
