Recovering from Locked Phone (forgotten pw) - Google Pixel 2 XL Questions & Answers

I seem to have really screwed things up. Device is at the required lock screen after a restart (biometrics are obv still fine), but I have forgotten my lock screen credential. USB debugging is not enabled, so adb isn't playing nice. Never unlocked the bootloader. What can I do other than wipe the device? I have data I wish to recover, so would prefer to rule out wiping, if possible.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you might just have to deal with the unconditional you're losing all that info that you still gradually want to keep you should have made a backup beforehand especially knowing that you keep a screen lock but you forgot it... I don't know if he had passwords etc backed up through your Google account if you have a Google account and a serious question is your phone even the unlockable type? I would suggest making backups and keeping them on a PC not directly onto your phone does backup every file manually but you may have to take the slight loss on this one I'm not 100% on that but I wish you luck I've been there before in the past and learn my lesson the harsh way

Try to remember the pin, pattern or password you used. Whatever you do, DO NOT RESET THE DEVICE. If you do reset, Google's Factory Reset Protection will kick in, and you will need to know the pin, pattern or password to continue setting the device up.

I pretty much gave up for now. The timer between tries is at around 4m. I hope perhaps some day in the future that there may be a way to activate usb debugging on the device (for adb) or somehow otherwise get my data off, but I don't have super high hopes.

if you know you google account you can easily unlock it but you will loos all your data , reset your device through recovery then while setting on FRP use your same account that you have setup on your device and it will ask you to add new account or use current . make sure you use current account and not new account
- hope this helps , if you dont get anything work around i would suggest you to go to nearest google SVC and ASk them for the same issue they will surely help as they have software to solve this kind of issue frequantly :good:

My phone got stolen

Hey guys, about a year and a half ago, my lg g3 d855 got stolen, I know that's sad I probably also posted some questions about it back in the days.. it took a long time but today I got it back ( it was an evidence in court so I couldn't take it and now when they are in jail and the case is closed they gave it back to me ).. anyway, apparently the thief changed the phone password, and I really want to get all my information inside, I guess USB Debugging is off since I can't use adb commands (adb devices returns an empty string), and after booting to recovery I see it has the stock recovery installed, so flashing zips is not an option,
I have no other option then trying, am I right?
Just to mention, I can try as many backups pins as I want, it doesn't lock me there, and I can also try his Gmail password..

Wait as i understood.. You want to put your info inside to your phone?
Then why don't you do a factory reset and then do it..?
I know it may get the Google security (it needs the gmail and password that was in the phone) (it may be your gmail so give it a try..)

LG K10 screen lock

I've got a problem with my lg k10 - It's number protected and I can't remember the combination. I can't make a backup, because my usb is in loading only mode, I can't access it remotely because USB debugging is off. I really don't want to hard reset it, because i've got some private and important things there. I can't really do anything about rooting etc. (I don't know anything as well). Just for mentioning sake, I've tried ADM, but it didn't work (like it's anything new :/) is there any way to bypass it somehow without hard resetting it?
EDIT: I'm sorry if it's not the place for such newbie things, I lost all my hope and I don't know what to do
EDIT2: It was repaired after screen crash and I don't really remember putting the code combination in place of contemporary screen lock.

Stuck at Google verify account after hard reset

Hello everyone.
Bought a used M9 with a damaged LCD, with the purpose of replacing the LCD and get it used.
After replacing the LCD, and not being able to bypass security pin, i hard reset the phone throught bootloader.
Now i'm getting the "This device was reset. To continue, sign in with a Google Account that was previously used on this device".
The phone bootloader isn't unlocked and the phone is S-ON so i cannot use the fastboot erase frp.
Any tips or suggestions on how i can bypass this use and get the phone ready to use?
Thanks in advance
Solved!
After watching videos on YouTube and trying several different "miraculous" systems I managed to bypass the Google verify.
Frp is a pain in the arse when it glitches out and won't let you in even if you use the correct password. Usually the back door entails a new account and swapping stuff. Should only take 10mins or so. I think its 'android junkie' or similar on YouTube that shows you how..

Unable to reset Andriod ZTE phone bc of FRP lock, Looking for help unlocking Please!

Hi,
So I have a rather unheard of problem. I was given a phone from a friend before they moved out of state and have no way of contacting them anymore. I turned it on and it had a pass code so i just figured i would do a factory reset ( or what i assumed to be a factory reset) using the buttons on the phone. I used the recovery menu to get to the screen that gave me the options to wipe data, or install update from apk, or factory reset the phone so i used the volume buttons and clicked reset. I let the phone do its thing and when it turned back on it goes to the google factory reset protection page saying i need to login using a google account that was previously used on the phone before the reset. FML! i used the talk back option to be able to access the settings menu and figured i would just do the reset from the settings menu. This is were all of my problems begin!! I can access the settings menu and get to the back up & reset and then click the the Factory reset option. However, the factory reset screen has a button at the bottom of the screen that says Reset Phone and when I click the Reset phone button, absolutely nothing happens. (It makes a click sound but it doesn't do anything at all)
The Other Problem!!: For some unknown reason i cant seem to access the developer options and enable USB debugging. even after i put the phone in safe mode i still could not get the developer options to appear. I have no clue what i am doing wrong but i feel like i am running into a brick wall and not matter what i click or press the phone just will not do what it is suppose to do! I tried every way I can think of to enable USB debugging but, no matter how many times I try to click Build Number or Build Version ( whatever it is exactly called, hopefully you can understand what I mean) nothing happens! I have tried to install a USB debugging app from a qr code but it won't read the qr code from the camera app. I was able to access the camera app using the same talk back trick that i used to get into the settings. I keep telling myself if only i knew about the talk back trick to get into the settings menu before i stupidly reset the phone when i first saw the pass code. So I am hoping that a google FRP Bypass program will work and help me make the phone usable again!! Does anyone have any suggestions or advice?? I am open to all ideas.
So far i have come up with a few ideas but idk if any of them are even possible to accomplish! Can someone help me out and tell me if any of the following options are even possible and whether or not it will be helpful and make the phone usable so i can have a cell phone again. Please, Please can someone help me!! Ideas:
1.) Use a Google Factory Reset Protection Unlocking program.
2.)Somehow completely delete the entire phone and reinstall the marshmallow android OS, like when you would do a fresh clean install of windows on a PC, (IDK if this is even possible but i am assuming it should be)
3.) Rooting the phone and finding a new custom ROM. ( I haven't even done anything like or close to rooting a phone, but im guessing it cant be that hard, right? Google and YouTube have vast amounts of tutorials........, hopefully,....right?
4.) I have backups of my older phones that i am wondering if it would be possible to use one of the backups i have saved and somehow putting it on the phone as a way to get pasted the FRP lock? I haven't a clue if the backups are only usable to the specific phones that created them or if they can be used on any phone?
5.) Downgrade the Android version to a older version that doesn't have the FRP lock, then once i have access into the phone i can just upgrade the phone after i logging into my google account.
6.) You know how Windows PC have the restore option in the settings so you can go back to a previously made restore point? Like turning back the clock so to speak, Is this option available or does it even exist at all on Android? I was thinking if it does i can just simply store the phone back to before i stupidly reset it and then use the trick to bypass the screen lock code and use the settings to do a hard reset ( I really don't think this option even exists or is possible but im literally at the point of willing to try and do absolutely anything to be able to have a phone again! Please and thanks! It is a ZTE Z837VL and it is Android marshmallow, Android Version 6.0.1 (I'm not sure if the
Android version matters or not?)
Thanks. Also If this is the wrong place for this post then please just let me know where the correct spot is to post and i will quickly fix it!! I am new to the site and I have read alot of posts and truthfully, feel like i have overwhelmed myself with trying to make sure i do things the way its supposed to be done. I know many most likely ALL of the members on this site are advanced and way more knowledgeable about the mobile phone information. I do know alot of computers and I have alot of programming experience but i have only focused on PCs and am just starting to learn what i can about mobile development.
Thanks again for helping me and sharing whatever you can with me to help solve things. I am really hoping not to end up with a paperweight haha!!

How can i unlock my old samsung galaxy tab 3 10.1, that is password protected without losing data.

Hello guys!
I recently fixed my tablet and i’m trying to get into it, because of my hay day account that i lost on the tablet and my email also with it. Yes it is a little funny that i am doing all of this to just get this profile, but i am tech junkie and this stuff gets me excited and i love doing it.
I was thinking flashing maybe custom recovery and then using file manager to delete password so it forgets it since i cannot use ADB because i know that is not enabled and i know that my computer will recognise my tablet while in recovery mode.
Does anyone have any better ideas or anything really will be appreciated!
Thank you in advance!
Majkolino out
Unfortunately this is not possible. Your data is encrypted to protect it and recovery mode will only see random data unless it's decrypted using the password you've forgotten.
Your only option is to perform a factory reset, although it is possible that Factory Reset Protection will prevent this as well.
Please note that in order to flash a custom recovery, your bootloader must be unlocked, which you can only do after enabling OEM Unlocking in Developer Options - but if you're unable to get into the tablet in the first place, this is not possible.
Thank you for the answer!
So although the tablet is pretty old it is not possible? I also saw some posts and know that old android systems are pretty fractured, this one is pretty old..

Well...You could try using ADB in recovery, although I believe this still requires USB debugging authorized in developer options, and I'm not sure how much help the OEM recovery would be; I don't believe it will let you modify, read, or delete files or folders remotely.
