eSIM on F900F Fold Grayed - Samsung Galaxy Fold Questions & Answers

Just bought the Samsung Fold SM-F900F in India. Surprising, Samsung's India website states the phone supports both Nano SIM and eSIM. However, my phone has a grayed out eSIM IMEI on the about page under settings. I know with surety that it is not carrier locked. So my question is, if I flash my phone with a firmware from Sammobile for a different region such as France, Spain, Singapore, etc. Would it unlock the eSIM on my phone? Samsung's website says the following Countries and carriers support eSIM:
Australia: Optus, Telstra, Vodafone
Finland: Telia
France: Orange
Singapore: M1
Spain: Movistar, Orange
Thailand: AIS
I am assuming a firmware from any of these countries should also have an active eSIM profile.
At the moment, it doesn't even have the activate mobile plan and other menu options required to add eSIM profile under settings.
Also, its been a while since I played around with android phones. Are the firmwares provided on SAMMOBILE stock versions?
Thank you. Felt amazing to write my first post/reply.

Hi, I also have the 900F the Indian unit with the esim option greyed out. I am assuming the same way you do if we flash an international F firmware we might get the esim functionality back. My local samsung dealer imported a phone from uae and the esim version is working in India on that unit. So an educated guess would be flashing that firmware and checking..

Sim card manager hidden
I have the same problem. I have f900f from Saudi Arabia
I try to add esim but sim card manager is hidden
I change my firmware to france and still have the same problem
Any body Know how I can slove this problem

I've changed my firmware to Australia but didn't work the option is still greyed out.

I have Fold %G Model no. SM-F907N. Samsung Service center told me its Korean model and same language in it. Also say KT twophone service.
Esim option is not visible - Sim Card manager not there.
Can anyone help me how to active esim on it.

i have korean imported model SM-F907N, can i use indian firmware on it to use samsung pay and other features as its blocked right now and asking to insert korean sim card. please someone guide

In the USA... my fold was initially greyed as well. After researching, I was able to contact AT&T whom said that the do support esim and could enable it. Would just need to talk to the instore sales rep and they should be able to provide you with a scanable q card.. once scanned, feature is enabled and sim slot is now freed up to use with another carrier. Not sure how other carrier works in other country

I had bought Samsung Galaxy fold from US (SM-F900U) and I came to Gulf but the esim is grayed and sim card manager is hidden. Please help me how to unlock, which country I should flash the firmware to use the esim.

If you want 2 SIM cards, your box and system info should have 2 different IMEI numbers, otherwise is single SIM.

So there is no way how to "activate" the second SIM slot?
Because on P8 I found an article that it was possible using another firmware to change branden SINGLE SIM to DUAL SIM...as if all the models have same harware and only the firmware decides if it is SINGLE or DUAL SIM.
But I do not know if it is the same with G8 (I have also TMobile AT branded G8 - and it is single SIM. All I could do was install some other official firmware, but NOT that one marked as DUAL SIM When I tried to update DUAL SIM Firmware, I always get "Software install failed" right from the start)

There is no way to make it work as far as I know, and many people have tried without success, because they always get the error you get when making the update to the firmware.

That's not true, I have the 3GB version and is single SIM.
This is a way you can verify dual sim version, and is the same I have told you before:
http://www.htcmania.com/showpost.php?p=21658111&postcount=1
only one IMAI code :/ thank you all for your replies
If I have only one IMEI, but I have dual card management app running and ro.dual.sim.phone - true (by default) in build.prop, is possible to have dual sim in future, with proper rom&some trick (like writing second IMEI somewhere).
My G8 ROM single sim:
Build number RIO-L01C432B130.
Custom version CUSTC432D005.
Thank you!

Theoretically convert a single sim a50 to a dual sim a50

Do you want to convert your single sim phone into a dual sim phone. then this guide should do it.
For some reason the single sim samsung boards actually have 2 sim slots. For example the a7 2018 single sim board has 2 sim slots
{

}
Here is the a50 motherboard with the same thing
How to check without opening up the phone.
What i find with all the phones with unused 2nd sim card slots is that they always leave a blank space where the 2nd sim card would be
Here is an a7 2018 sim tray for a single sim phone to prove my point
So my theory is either to cut a hole for the 2nd sim into the tray and tape the sim in or to buy a sim tray for a dual sim phone.
Also on my single sim a7 2018 ( my a50 is dual sim) there are activities called Sim cards or names that would suggest that it has dual sim capability in the settings apk
So if someone would test this out that would be awesome
I think the reason they do this is so that they don't have to manufacture 2 boards for a device instead they can just manufacture 1 board for all the versions of the phone
it's not that simple I think, even if the second sim slot is there, the single sim variant still only have one imei (why would samsung listed two imeis on a single sim registered phone), the sim may shown as no service if your theory is right.
Second sim slot is most likely disabled in the firmware of the radio. Also, like mentioned above it needs a second IMEI number which it will not have.
Try to flash a dual SIM ROM and some guides are there on how to copy IMEI number from SIM1 TO SIM2. Or you can use an old IMEI # from someother phone.
Any luck with trying a dual-sim rom on an A50? I've got a single sim A50 which I'd love to convert if it's just limited in firmware and software.

sadly I cannot test this out as my A50 is dual sim but i could try my A7 2018 or J5 2017 as it has the same thing too.
Maybe with this file it can be done...

Converted A7 2018 to Dual sim solved

Why would you want to do that... Its nonsense. If you have DS and want SS just put one Sim card [emoji1787]. Even more slot for SD is separated. So, there is no need for such a thing.

SM-N975F/DS Root, TWRP?

Hey, I unintentionally got the dual-SIM model of the Note 10+ (thought it seems that it's the only one available in my country right now). I know that you should avoid Dual-SIM models at all costs if you want to flash custom ROMs etc. But I'm not really interested in custom ROMs anymore. Just root and TWRP (for flashing stuff and backups).
So I was in the middle of doing all that when I realised I had the dual SIM model. It was mentioned NOWHERE, when I was buying the thing. So now I can't find the firmware for this thing anywhere, so I can't really root it. Is rooting this model currently possible? If not, can I restore a non rooted device backup on the device, after I root it? As root will eventually become possible for this device too? If it isn't already.
CSC is: N975FOXM1ASGO
Thanks in advance guys.
Whaaat? No. Yes Of course. You have the perfect version for root. I have the same dual sim version. Dual sim means root most of the time. You're good!

I have the international N975F, also with dual sim.
I have rooted it and TWRP is working, I used SamFirm to download the firmware.
When I put in my region code (DBT - Germany) it automatically chose the correct version. Mine is N975FXXU1ASHE/N975FOXM1ASHE.
You can try it with SamFirm with your CSC values.

I need the link to download required files for rooting SM-N975F/DS
Hi guys, I came here to give you a feedback on the root for that model (N975FOXM1ASG) because I have the exact same one, I'm French.
What @Brava27 and @JayanWarden is correct, I used SamFirm to download the latest firmware for that model using automatic,
with the model sm-n975f and region XEF.
Then I just followed this process:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10+/how-to/guide-how-to-root-note-10-t3960031
You have to follow it carefully
The only part that doesn't work for me though is "E.Flashing TWRP", but the phone is rooted.
This is now what I have instead of the default values likes yours:

https://ibb.co/ZK5pGpw
Everything works 100%, so you can go ahead and root.
One thing though and it's not mentioned, but in the thread it says that if you don't see the option to unlock your bootloader you'll have to wait and maybe some will never have it...
This is wrong, in fact, you need to do the whole process without a sim card inserted, i know because I tried with and without and the option didn't appear when I had the sim card in the phone.

Activate plan on Active 2 LTE purchased from US in Canada

Hi,
I've purchased a Galaxy Active 2 LTE (unlocked, SM-R835U, Tizen 5.5.0.1) from BestBuy US and I want to use it in Canada. Bell and Telus are supporting LTE smartwatches, but I wanted the Stainless Steel Gold color which was not available in Canada. My career, Bell, has activated the plan in their network and it seems they haven't any problem with its IMEI. But when I want to add plan from my phone it says " there aren't any plans available for your watch in your country!
I talked with 3 people from Samsung customer services and stores. Some are saying it's a software problem, and some are saying the frequency is different but it's very unlikely and I didn't convince.
Any idea how can I solve this issue to get it to work? Is it possible to change the firmware to something compatible without broking Payment, BT, etc?!
Thank you for your help.

Thanks,
My device is an unlocked US version, I think it's unlocked for all regions. Do you think that my Carrier can do anything about it? For example may I ask them to add my IMEI to their network?
And could you please let me know where can I download the official CSC for my country and device? I just found a Korean and a XAR (US) firmware for R835. Thanks

Question Pixel 6 Pro. Having trouble setting up a Mexican eSIM

I bought a Pixel 6 Pro a couple of weeks ago, and have been using my regular Mexican nano SIM with it until now; but I want to add a second line to it, from Movistar. The carrier gave me a QR code to scan, and following the instructions on Google's support page, it seemed to download the profile correctly.
But when I go to Settings to try and select the eSIM, it doesn't show up on the list of SIMs available. It only shows the physical SIM that's inside the phone (from a different company). If I tap on the + button to add a new one, it sends me to the start of the adding a SIM process, but if I try to scan the QR to download the eSIM again, it says that the profile has been downloaded already.
I contacted Movistar but they said that it's an issue with the phone, not the eSIM, and since Google Pixels aren't sold in Mexico, they couldn't give me any specific troubleshooting advice. I've looked online for a solution and tried restarting the phone, taking out the physical SIM from the other company, and erasing downloaded SIMs form the System > Reset options menu, but I just can't get the eSIM to show up in the available SIMs, or get it to re-download into the phone.
Any ideas on what the issue might be? Thanks in advance!
Try removing the physical SIM card (and reboot) and then try again with the eSIM.

I'm thinking that Movistar Mexico's eSIMS are probably not compatible with the phone. Because it's not sold in Mexico, there's probably something about the way the eSIM is configured that doesn't work with the Pixel phones
I have the exact same problem here with Movistar in Colombia.
eSIm worked on older pixels. But not on P6 :/
It says it's already downloaded.

Alvaro, I'm tested it on movistar Colombia and it doesn't work, it's not compatible with Pixel 6 Pro, profile is correctly downloaded but is not available in the menu Network & internet / SIMs
I try with an Ubigi Esim and it works well (it uses Claro) then, this is a compability problem with the movistar's Esim

I have the same problem, and I have tried with esim of Claro and movistar
Yeah, sim not compatible with the phone, I'm pretty sure. Telcel works, though, which is what I use. I know that doesn't help you presently, but at least you know that's an option.
