Activate plan on Active 2 LTE purchased from US in Canada - Samsung Galaxy Watch

Hi,
I've purchased a Galaxy Active 2 LTE (unlocked, SM-R835U, Tizen 5.5.0.1) from BestBuy US and I want to use it in Canada. Bell and Telus are supporting LTE smartwatches, but I wanted the Stainless Steel Gold color which was not available in Canada. My career, Bell, has activated the plan in their network and it seems they haven't any problem with its IMEI. But when I want to add plan from my phone it says " there aren't any plans available for your watch in your country!
I talked with 3 people from Samsung customer services and stores. Some are saying it's a software problem, and some are saying the frequency is different but it's very unlikely and I didn't convince.
Any idea how can I solve this issue to get it to work? Is it possible to change the firmware to something compatible without broking Payment, BT, etc?!
Thank you for your help.

Thanks,
My device is an unlocked US version, I think it's unlocked for all regions. Do you think that my Carrier can do anything about it? For example may I ask them to add my IMEI to their network?
And could you please let me know where can I download the official CSC for my country and device? I just found a Korean and a XAR (US) firmware for R835. Thanks

its carrier unlocked not region unlocked , just change the CSC and it will work fine .All the LTE version for some reasons are region locked .
For changing the CSC you will find all the details here

Hi,
I did more investigation and found these two topics are talking about the same issue and trying to change US version's CSC to work in Canada.

One problem is that I have R835U not R835F, and also many of firmware links and tutorials are expired or for old version or they are for 44mm version, R825F. May I ask if you have further files or detailed instructions in that topic? Thank you

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G Debrand?

Hello, I purchased Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G. Everything is ok, no problems etc. But unfortunately it comes with Vodafone apps and widget other bloatware. Is there way to debrand Note 10 Plus 5G? Thanks in advance.
N976B variant? VDF UK?
Yes it is N976B.
Ok. And sim card?
I've the note 10 plus 5G on 3 UK and it's on unbranded BTU.
Are you UK Vodafone?
Came with only Samsung bloat, no 3 apps at all which makes a change for them.
Would flashing the BTU firmware not work?
I'm using EE. I bought from CEX unlocked. But as I wrote come with preinstalled apps. Even after factory reset.
Service provider SW version:
VOD/VOD/VOD
Updating CSC to global (GCF) cleared all carrier bloat for me, BUT IT WILL WIPE YOUR DATA IN THE PROCESS SO BACKUP FIRST.
Can you give BTU OXM firmware link for Note?
Use frija or samfirm :
replace XEU with BTU

As you read above, I have same. But anyway better then branded vodafone firmware.
Anyway I think need Samkey tool to change CSC to BTU.

NO! Samkey tool is for unlock the phone. To change CSC you need RealTerm and combination file for your device for access factory binary .
This is how to use RealTerm to change the CSC ...,for note 9 , which i did for note 9.

This Method is not working anymore as from S10 and Note10 Flashing Combination firm is impossible. I managed to change my CSC on my Note 10+ 5G (SM-N976B) using two credits bought from eBay on SamKey.
I had the default OXM XEF France and went to BTU.
Hope this helps
With Samkey I changed to BTU/BTU/VOD. All is good now.

And how much did credit cost to use samkey?
I paid £5.05 for 3 credits.

looks like I have to go down this road, which site did u buy credits from and does 3 credits enough to change csc?
You need only two credits. So 1 credit will left unused. I purchased here:

eSIM on F900F Fold Grayed

Just bought the Samsung Fold SM-F900F in India. Surprising, Samsung's India website states the phone supports both Nano SIM and eSIM. However, my phone has a grayed out eSIM IMEI on the about page under settings. I know with surety that it is not carrier locked. So my question is, if I flash my phone with a firmware from Sammobile for a different region such as France, Spain, Singapore, etc. Would it unlock the eSIM on my phone? Samsung's website says the following Countries and carriers support eSIM:
Australia: Optus, Telstra, Vodafone
Finland: Telia
France: Orange
Singapore: M1
Spain: Movistar, Orange
Thailand: AIS
I am assuming a firmware from any of these countries should also have an active eSIM profile.
At the moment, it doesn't even have the activate mobile plan and other menu options required to add eSIM profile under settings.
Also, its been a while since I played around with android phones. Are the firmwares provided on SAMMOBILE stock versions?
Thank you. Felt amazing to write my first post/reply.
Hi, I also have the 900F the Indian unit with the esim option greyed out. I am assuming the same way you do if we flash an international F firmware we might get the esim functionality back. My local samsung dealer imported a phone from uae and the esim version is working in India on that unit. So an educated guess would be flashing that firmware and checking..
Sim card manager hidden
I have the same problem. I have f900f from Saudi Arabia
I try to add esim but sim card manager is hidden
I change my firmware to france and still have the same problem
Any body Know how I can slove this problem
I've changed my firmware to Australia but didn't work the option is still greyed out.

In the USA... my fold was initially greyed as well. After researching, I was able to contact AT&T whom said that the do support esim and could enable it. Would just need to talk to the instore sales rep and they should be able to provide you with a scanable q card.. once scanned, feature is enabled and sim slot is now freed up to use with another carrier. Not sure how other carrier works in other country

SM-G986B is Multi CSC device. Since Switzerland and Italy are in the same region both CSC's should be pre-installed on the device.
Try this - Go to "Settings" then "About phone". Write down your IMEI Number. Open dialer and enter *#272*IMEInumber# (In the thread replace IMEInumber with your actual IMEI Number). Press dial, you should see a screen with the list of available CSC codes for your device. Select the CSC that you want and tap the Install option.

The Samkey method would only work if the security patch on your phone hasn't been updated past July 2020. Otherwise you will get an "unsupported BIT" error.

In this case you're stuck (like myself) with whatever csc you currently have unless you root your device. I haven't rooted any of my samsung phones (my primary handsets) since my S3 days as I had no need to. So I'm not familiar with the process for sammy devices.

That's where I gave my answer.
OSW is a multi CSC, like OXM is.
Based on the sim cards in your phone, on first boot after flash, the appropriate csc is selected.
Based on the information provided by OP on Reddit (CSC settings in phone info: NEE/NEE, DBT/XAA), it looks like he has both a Nordic sim and a German sim in the phone. Probably as AUT is not in OSW, DBT is selected.
Strange to me is listing of XAA (=United States) as last CSC. That last CSC would indicate country code of the country the phone was manufactured for by Samsung... but Samsung does not manufacture N975F for USA... Looks like phone was seriously messed with.

So, it was OXM before? " If the CSC of your Samsung device is OXM it means it has Multi-CSC firmware installed on it. OXM is a group of CSCs that contains multiple sub-CSCs inside it. It means that you can easily change the CSC of your Galaxy phone or Galaxy Tab. "

yes, I try to install another version with *#272*IMEI number# bud this code was not working for my phone.
Anyway, I had managed to flash another updated version (UI2.5 and security 12.2020) also OXM.
With this last firmware if I use *#272*IMEI number# still I don't get any multy-csc.

I also found it strange that it was XAA it has an Exynos chip. Now it is NEE/NEE, NEE/XAA.
Can you change the IMEI?
No. Moreover, as tampering with IMEIs is illegal, it will not be discussed on this forum.

Question Indian firmware with European Z FOLD 4 (SM-F936B)

I just saw online that India Market got the new update (F936BXXU1AVIH) with September security patch.
So my question is, as i have an european model with the same model number (F936B), what is the risk if i flash this firmware ? As i know that it's not gonna change my 4G/5G bands anyway, so i'm guessing maybe an OTA issue after flashing this firmware (like not receiving them as i don't live in India).
Sorry if it's a stupid question :-/
No risk, CSC HOME and all good. I do it.
Ok, thanks for your reply
And what about future OTA updates ? Will it still be working ?
Yes.
Yesterday I installed the Indian version on my European version Fold 4, there is no problem except that it does not pass the Safetypass and I cannot make contactless payments.
No Root, no OEM unloock, just ODIN upgrade (firm from Sammobile).

I confirm that i can no longer make contactless payments as well, but i never used it anyway so not a big deal for me... i hope that there will be no others bad compatibilities like this one.
Will update on a newer European firmware later or just flash the AVIH European firmware when it'll be released

It's very strange that the India version does not pass Safetynet's CTS checks. I also used the Home_CSC, I had never had a similar problem. I will wait to try with another region when it comes out.
