Are there any developer working on a good custom kernel ? - Samsung Galaxy A70 Questions & Answers

I wanted to root my A70 but haven't, as the TWRP is still buggy, magisk rooting is still a workaround root, etc. looking at A50 threads there are already major developments in rooting and custom kernels. Question is, how bout the A70 ?

A5 2017 root question

Hey, so I have the Canadian A5 2017 and have not received the Oreo update yet, once Its available for my phone i was planning on switching over to a custom Rom running Oreo 8.1 (can't yet since there's no oreo modem/boot loader available for my phone as far as I know). Just curious if it would be easier to root my phone now while it's on nougat and then install a custom Oreo Rom myself once the modem/bootloader are available?, or should I wait until I receive the Oreo OTA update and then root it after? Believe I read that there s a new boot loader lock of some sort that was introduced in the new new oreo that makes it a bit of a pain to unlock the boot loader. Also my phone is completely stock
Thanks for your help
Rooting on oreo is just a bit more difficult than nougat because of the rmm state, but there're a lot of way to bypass it easily. If you're on N just root without OTA updating oreo, but I don't know how many custom roms running stable oreo 8.1 exist. I had LineageOS 15.1 unofficial for A5 2017, great features but too buggy. Just look for something more stable
Obviously to flash a custom rom you need a custom recovery, but I think you knew it yet

Tab S4 GSI ROM's

When I bought my Tab S4 I was excited to see that it had an unlockable bootloader but disappointed that there weren't many ROMS available. So I flashed WETA Kernel and lived with just root access. I just recently found out that my device is Treble supported. So would it be safe and possible to flash a GSI when running a Custom kernel such as WETA? Or should I return to stock? Im currently on SF4 and the June 1st security patch

RMX2040 STABLE ROOT AND TWRP DISCUSSION

Question Miui.eu

I am sorry in advance, I am new to it and there is too much information for me. So, I want to get poco f3, but I can find global version of it. So I am thinking of installing miui.eu as far as I understand it works better. So my problem about safetynet - I need my banking apps and so on. As far as I understand, I need to unlock my bootloader, and by doing so, I automatically won't pass safetynet even if I won't install miui.eu (or any other) at all. Is there is a way, to be able to use miui.eu, banking apps and not to tweak with magisk?
xiaomi.eu pass safetynet out of the box...so, no need to root ur phone to use bank apps.

So unlocking bootloader does not strip you from safetynet? I am kind of confused. Is xiaomi.eu like other roms like lineage os or its kinda official. Sorry for dumb questions
Is there any other popular roms that can pass safetynet without magisk?

Xiaomi.eu is a custom ROM based on official MIUI. If u install this ROM, safetynet pass out of the box.

OK, now it's all coming together, thank you very much!
The only issue I have seen is dealing with their forum support. The place is like 4chan with miserable moderators.

Unlocking your bootloader, installing a custom recovery (mainly TWRP) and flashing MIUI.eu rom will not affect PlayStore and SafetyNet Attestation API.
Rooting your device (or more commonly known as installing Magisk) will cause it. There is a workaround called MagiskHide, but if there's nothing really important you needed to root I would say just flashing the MIUI.eu rom is way more than enough.

Any roms that does not come preinstalled with Magisk should have no issues with SafetyNet API.
And according to XiaoMi.eu website they are collaborating together with the XiaoMi official developers so your warranty is not voided.

Mi 10T recommended ROM

Hello XDA.
As you all can see I'm new to the forum, and also new to Rooting smartphones, I Have a Mi 10T that I'm finally willing to Flash to a custom ROM.
The reason behind flashing is lately I wanted a faster Tether. which means Ethernet Tether is the way to go, but Xiaomi decided not to ship it.
So my question Is, what will I lose (regarding features) when I root (flash a custom ROM) also whats the security concerns that I will face.
lastly. which ROM is best suited for Mi 10T, as I see few popular ROMs out there.
Thanks in Advance.
hello, for the mi10t you have Lineage 18.1 or crDroid, the best for me is Lineage, with CrDroid I have proximity sensor problems. And you don't have to be root.
U don't have to root ur phone if you are just going to use it just as a usual phone. Last time most of the roms had idle drain issue(not sure if they still have the problem). So went back to xiaomi.eu stable rom. Now in Arrow OS Android 12 rom. Screen time is awesome. Few minor bugs here and there.
thank you guys for the feedback. do you have ethernet tether enabled ?
also on Linage OS do i have to root it ?
