Mi Band 4 vs M4 Band - Xiaomi Mi Band 4 Questions & Answers

Hi everyone, is there can custom firmware for M4 band not MI 4 band?
Because I search everywhere there is no custom firmware or themes for M4 Band..
Please help?

I seriously doubt that anyone will bother with creating custom FW for a "fake" inferior bracelet. You might have luck searching on some Chinese development/hacking forums.
Though I'd suggest buying the real thing, it's dirty cheap and has great 3rd party support.

Unlocking LTE band 20

Hi,
I've bought the Chinese version which lacks some bands, but it seems that I'm more dependent on the 800 MHz/band 20 than first imagined.
I've seen that there has been some success in unlocking "hidden" bands on the 1/2. Would this be possible for the oneplus 3?

I thought it was hardware based this time?
Will be interesting to see.

Did you try flashing a different rom like FreedomOS or a international stock rom(if there are differences )?
I have no idea. Not tried flashing. Anyone know if this is hardware or software-related?
The specs specifically list the Chinese version as not including the 20-band, so I guess it might be difficult.

I did a little research in the german OP forum. There it is confirmed for the OPO that it's hardware related and not unlockable. Nothing yet about the OP3. I would not expect much...
Guess I'll use my ebay free return and pick up the European version then. Still don't sending to Norway officially, so I'll need to use some forwarding. Or I could buy a slightly used S7 Edge, which is the same price when I add VAT to the oneplus.

Hi,
Can anyone provide me a QCN of an european OP3 ? You can strip down the IMEI of it, as IMEI is the last thing I am looking for.
I am trying to unlock mi5 bands using this post as a guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/radio-enable-lte-band-3-nexus-5-d820-t2928561
and I think I am very close.
Basically what they do is to add the necessary paramaters to the NVRAM so as the phone can use other bands.
OP3 and mi5 are very close hardware speaking and I think I can use the NVItems of the OP3 that are missing in the mi5 so as to make it work with the b20 band and others.
I am pretty sure this technique can be used to activate bands in the OP3 if the hardware permits. Specially, transplanting bands from CN OP3 to EU OP3.
cheers

Which version of the phone do you have? Which Band are you missing?
I also have the same requirement. I've got the same ZenFone 5 (ZE620KL) which I think is from the Taiwan market. I need 800MHz (Band 20) activating as it's the most commonly used LTE band in the UK. I also need 2600MHz (Band 7) for my network but this is working on the device already. Is it even possible to get a missing band working on a device?
Anyone know the answer to this?
You can give this a try: [GUIDE] Add all GSM and LTE bands to your phone
That guide seems very complicated and is now 4 years old. Do you guys think the method still works? And are custom kernels already available? For now I'm kinda getting used to the missing Band 20 but the three Carriers in Germany said that they are shutting down 3G 2020/21.
So I would be glad if some experienced user could try if the tools work with the Asus ZF5 cause missing LTE support could become a problem rather sooner than later :/

Well, I'm not sure, I haven't tried that. There are thousands of guides for different phones here on xda. I'm sure somehow it can be done with this device as well.
Hope someone with experience and the phone can try it. For now I'm good with the missing Band 20 but in 2020/21 the major carriers here in Germany will shut down their 3G services. So missing LTE frequencies could turn out to be a real problem Rather sooner than later :/
Why Asus released their Zenfone 5 Models with different LTE support while the 5Z supports all important ones is beyond me...
Could a custom ROM with Kernel correct the missing Bands ?
thanks guys , but i sold my phone for the galaxy s9 and no any problems lol

Need pro xda help

Hello it's turbo again.
In my area we continue to lose band 4 in the past 6 months ....to now my mi max 3 will often not let me speak on a call. ... When I answer or dial.
.. I'm at wits end I bought a Moto g7. To make calls do to looking for work. But I don't like it but I cant be missing calls.... To get the mimax3 back I can only guess maybe more bands will save my mi max3.
Can anybody unlock more bands for me. If I pay shipping and for your time and knowledge.
Come on some one has to know how to add bands to the mi max 3
Please help
Hi,
I think the Telecom band is associated with hardware, not software.
For example, you can check post on forums the Redmi K20 Pro.

Good luck.

Hi
I bought a 11x from India and I trying to use it in the UK. The coverage is very poor due to the bands being use by India rom. Do you think there is a way to improve it.
Thank

The bands are picked by your sim card not the phone. If I stick in my AT&t sim it always uses band 4 for LTE. I have the Poco F3 global edition working in America and I have the international Samsung S10 lite working same thing band 4.
Then using the same sim .. in s21 and m11x why do I get two different data speed. My understanding was Mi11 was using a different band to s21.

Question R7 4G Bands

Hi all,
Firstly hope this is OK to post here, I didn't see an R7 section?
I am interested in importing an R7 and have been looking into the bands it has as my network heavily uses band 20. On the Sharp website it shows the phone as having this band, but various re-sellers show a different list not including band 20!?
Does anyone know why this might be the case (different versions?), or the best way to try and validate which actual bands it has?
Thanks,
Dave
