Download TWRP for your device and flash it through Odin.
For rooting I recommend magisk.
I also recommend to read through some guides.

Did you checked auto reboot in odin?
If not, just hold down Volume down + Power Button for about 7 seconds, the device will reboot

For me, the only that worked:
- once rooted, make sure you get both current status and version (to be checked in download mode) as OFFICIAL (you can use Xposed or similar to do this, different threads can be found on this)
- flash with stock recovery
Hope this can help you as well...

You should try to go over specific Mode / Module (not sure about the English translation). To do this:
- Install Xposed Installer (or similar mode xposed mode installer)
- In Xposed Installer, download the mode "Cosmetics Device Status Normal Modification"
- Then, in the mode menu, select ComesticSysScopeNormalizer (or something that looks like this...) to activate
Restart, flash stock recovery, boot in recovery mode... and cross fingers!
Hope this will work

Normally it should work until you flash a custom recovery. But in this case you already set the knox flag. So, it doesn't matter if you are also rooted or not.
For whom it not worked:
After flashing the stock recovery boot once into recovery mode. For some this helps.
Mine's stock unrooted and i get that error too.

I know it's original, but last I heard CM12S was still in the soak test procedure. There may still be unresolved bugs.
Also, is this a 32-bit build or a 64-bit build?

Did you find any unresolved issues?
Like small WiFi/Bluetooth/RIL bugs of some sort?
Or is it perfectly safe to be flashed?
I can't take risks, since I won't be able to downgrade my device after flashing it.

g928skl
g928tw8
So let's start
Backup your device before following this guide
First download and install the USB driver from the above link
Download Odin and unpack to a folder
Download Phil Recovery from Arter97 Kernel thread (recommended)
Download Arter97 Kernel & SuperSU and copy them to your device

Now go to the options tab and make sure everything else is unchecked expect F. Reset Time
Now click on Start to Flash the custom recovery
Once it's completed your see "PASS" in a green box on top left corner of Odin
Congratulations! You have successfully flashed your Custom Recovery
Flashing Kernel & Rooting
Now let's reboot the device in Recovery mode
Holding Power +Volume Up+ Home key for a couple of seconds.
Once you are in Recovery it's recommend to take a backup
Now Flash the Kernel (It will remove Knox)
Once you Flashed the Kernel, Flash SuperSU
Congratulations! You have successfully rooted your device.
You are facing any issues? Please post your question so I or one of our community members will help you out.
Update:
For Android Marshmallow you could use Chainfire's CF Root. For SM-G928C visit https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/ or download it from here
Also you could check Dr. Ketan's Root and Deep sleep fix guide: here
Update 27th March 2016:
Seems like the some of the root methods out there is hit and miss like CF Auto Root etc. But seems like lot of people reported rooting with SkyHigh Kernel seems to working.

nice write up. you might want to note that after the recovery is flashed. do not reboot the device system. i did it twice on accident and both times, because after the flash, it stays in download mode. the system re-installed the stock recovery. so what i did was hold: vol down, home and power to reboot back into download mode then from there i hit vol up to cancel. then as soon as the phone is about to reboot, i did the: vol up + home + power button combo to boot into the new recovery. *my phone didn't let me boot into recovery from download mode.

I don't believe so. So far the research I did S6 Edge could use a app to root but that doesn't support Android 5.1.1 version. Until they support 5.1.1 we have to use this method.

i can confirm that the steps are the same for the s6 edge, the kernel and required files are different. Just search and you will find it. I know this because i previously had the s6 edge (international) on 5.1.1
So this question sounds kinda dumb for me...
With this method I can root my SM-G928F right?

Help with device?

Got the lg g3 andriod version 6.0, software version d85230h, looking to root, know you cant do it marshmellow. Anyone know how to do it?. I tryed to downgrade but i cant go into download mode.
I personally downgraded to Lollipop using LGUP and a KDZ file. Then used the One Click Root (Newest Root Method in General section) and installed AutoRec to get an old TWRP version, then updated TWRP with a bumped 3.0.3.0. All good to go!
do you have a link to a tutorial on how to do that?

No I just searched through the G3 forums here and read other people's posts.
1. Get LGUP and your KDZ, then downgrade.
2. Find a thread called 'Newest Root Method' in the General section and follow that thread - it's easy to do.
3. Dig up the AutoRec tool for you variant and install TWRP - Then upgrade TWRP, there is a thread with TWRP 3.0.3.0 in the G3 Android Development section.
Good luck.

Greetings.

Need help with update.

I have a rooted Honor 8 pro (DUK-L09C675B130), with an update in queue but everytime I download the update the phone boots into TWRP and it is not able to flash it. I searched for threads to unroot the phone (or get the old recovery) but I didn't find any solid answer. Also, when I try to enter recovery using the button combination Huawei E recovery shows up instead of TWRP. And TWRP is unable to flash anything, be it an official update or custom files. Any kind of assistance is appreciated. Thank you!
