"Network Unlock" App Installed with Android 10 Update - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Questions & Answers

Hi All:
After I updated to Android 10, I noticed an icon for Network Unlock in my app drawer, but it went away soon after the apps were "optimized." It still shows up in my apps settings under "all", but I cannot access it.
I have a AT&T branded N975U running BSL7. Anyone have any idea what this app is or how to access it?
Thanks in advance!

On my T-mobile version it is under network settings under more connection settings

Same here. It let me permanently unlock my phone.

Did you have it for longer than 40 days? It says my device is ineligible to be unlocked. I paid it off already but only had it a few weeks.

That makes a sense, no need for that if am factory unlocked.

I've had it since prerelease, but it's financed, so I'm a bit surprised.

Interesting. Maybe it must cares about being in use for 40+ days on postpaid T-mobile account

lol for sim unlocking.. just as the name suggests.. theres reference to it in some init files.. theres also some properties that reference it such as ssu.status and ssu.support.. i think theres only 3 carriers that use it from what I saw with TMB and VZW being two of them

lol.. why wpuld it be on a device that comes unlocked from samsung? if its purpose has to do with sim unlocking then i dont see why it would ever be on a factory unlocked variant lol

tmo has the option in settings.. it uses the unlock app.. before tmb used to have their own app but newer devices its integrated..
it will let u unlock given your device is eligible.. vzw devices however dont have the option since according to vzw after so many days it will be automatically unlocked so no need to include it in settings like tmb does

im sure theres a time requirement.. most carriers have them.. i would check online for tmb device unlock policies if u want specifics.. every carrier has their unlock policies online.. its the best way to fibd out since most the time ppl on the internet will just tell u wat they believe it is and even reps half the time make stuff up to get you off the phone n dont actually look up the policies.. this is coming from a quality rep for a major carrier lol
Sent from my SM-N976V using Tapatalk

Thanks, yeah I checked in their site and it says device must be fully paid off and active for 40 days for it to be eligible for network unlock.
Also they only let you unlock 2 phones in a year or line of service. What I find interesting is someone was able to unlock One plus 7 pro McLaren within a week of buying it.... Such inconsistencies and mysteries we may never know the answer for[emoji3]
Were you a ROM developer in the past? I recall your username from some guide posted on XDA or ROM for older galaxy phone [emoji846]

[Q] SIM Unlocking

I was wondering if there was a way to unlock the Galaxy SII for free. I know that you can use like adb to unlock the MyTouch 4G Slide. Can something one do something like that with this phone?
btw, I tried the "Galaxy S Unlock" app from the Play Store, and it didn't work.
Do what I did. Call tmobile and tell them that you are leaving the country for a while and want to use a different carrier to avoid roaming charges. Bam. I had my unlock code within 24 hours.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
yeahhh. I know about that, but I don't like how you are supposed to wait 3 months in between unlocking. and i might actually leave the country in less than three months. and the other phone is neither unlocked nor rooted.
Nope, only way is to call T-Mobile for a code....or a third party vendor

either get teh code from AT&T (if you're a customer) or pay $25 for it at one of the unlock code sites. there are no 'free' options outside of the carrier.
To get the code from ATT, dont you have to pay the full price of the phone though? Also, if you do the 25$ unlock code thingy, does the unlock stay forever (even if I do an update or change ROM's)?

Yes it has to be unlocked. Once you have the device paid off you will have to wait 40 days for an unlock. You can't just go buy the phone and go straight to AT&T with it.
dang, i already prepaided 1 yr in advanced from straight talk on att's network.
i dont want their phone from what i hear they have locked the bootloader.
Yeah unfortunately preventing your plan is why they have these 40 day windows in place. I'm sure you can understand - they aren't pure retail and there are operational expenses involved with getting that phone to you that the N3 margins alone can't sustain.

negrielectronics is advertising an unlocked Tmobile Note 3:
http://negrielectronics.com/samsung-galaxy-note-3-32gb-lte-t-mobile-unlocked-black.html
Here is their statement on the unlocked status:
http://negricare.negrielectronics.c...056725-question-about-a-galaxy-note-3-tmobile
It doesn't have Tmobile warranty coverage and some ppl say it doesn't have samsung warranty either. So you might consider getting their warranty package if you get one of their phones. Might be cheaper in the end since you won't pay tax and you have to pay for an unlock service. Never used them myself but others have posted on their good standing.

I highly recommend you don't try and root the phone, it could significantly alter your phone in a negative ways (some irreversible) even if you unroot your phone. Note 3 is a phone that highly relies on its original Samsung software. I have it, so I know. And especially when you're downloading unknown software onto your computer to root or alter your phone, you're putting your computer at risk of being compromised with malware and viruses. And a lot of these people who root phones for a fee often won't tell you the dangers your phone will potentially face after its rooted. DON'T WASTE $800.00 ON A GUESS.

Spoken from someone with a single post count.
I've rooted every phone I've ever had no issues going back to the g1 iphones evo etc. Just follow instructions . For note 3 use kingo root latest version and use region unlock app works flawlessly . Only thong I would advice against is straight talk. But guess its too late

I'm sure there will be if the user base calls for it. Hasn't been made yet because the device technically doesn't launch until tomorrow on T-Mobile.
I'm curious if the T-Mo version will work flawlessly with AT&T. I've heard the Sprint and Verizon devices can be buggy.

The unlocked version should work flawlessly on AT&T already.
That it does but due to my wedding in three weeks followed by an expensive honeymoon, I lack the funds to purchase an unlocked one from anywhere other than BestBuy currently.
They say they'll eventually carry unlocked 10s, but really, who knows? They will have the T-Mo version though.

Just got off phone with Verizon tier 2 tech support. They say the video calling feature is blocked and their system won't allow him to unblock it. He talked to his mgr. and was told that because it's not a Verizon branded phone it can't be unlocked.
Anyone know or tried to do a fresh install of VZW software from sammobile or some other firmware source? How'd that go? Anything special need to be done? Did it fix the issue?
