Photo Editing App is needed - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hi All,
I'm looking for a photo editing app that has the feature to make perfect straight lines and perfect circles (when I draw a line or circle with the pen it automatically make it perfect and let me resize and move it around).
Any suggestions?

PicSay Pro oldie but goodie

There is an add-on in Samsung notes, which is called Neat Shapes. When you turn it on, you'll have a tool which will be second to the last on the right of your toolbar. Drawing shapes with it, will convert them to squares, circles, straight lines and so on.

[THEME]How we can make Background for all Tabs (MANILA V3).

I will try to explain how we can make backgrounds for all tabs for the new manila V3.
First from all we choice a wallpaper which can give good looking at portrait and landscape mode.
Wallpaper must be dark color (Black, dark Grey, Blue dark e.t.c) because the light fonts let a line to look at the background.
We edit the wallpaper with photoshop.
PORTRAIT MODE
Our wallpaper for Portrait must be in PNG and to have dimensions:
480 width X 768 length
We cut the wallpaper in two pieces because at this manila we have 2 files for it.
The upper part must be 480X512
and the down part 480X256
so as 512+256=768 which is the length of our wallpaper.
The next step is to put them pictures in new transparent PNG files.
The Upper part we put in a transparent 512X512 png file, like at the pic follow, and we give file name, the name of the manila file: 70083a29_manila.png
Yellow line is to look how you placement the picture in the new transparent file.
The down part picture we put in a new png file 512X256 like at the follow picture, and we give name 77feee1d_manila.png
LANDSCAPE MODE
Wallpaper for landscape must have dimensions 800 width X403 length
We cut it also in two pieces.
Left part must be 512X403 and right part 288X403
so as 512+288=800
We put the left part in a new transparent png file with name 29cff4fe_manila.png 512X512 with name like at the follow picture:
The right part we put also in a transparent png file 512x512 with name
058acf31_manila.png like at the follow picture
We put the 4 pictures in a folder and we import this folder at the M9Editor
You can find M9editor Here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=464984
We convert the 4 picture files from png to qtc with editor. Press the button P>Q
Automatically, editor will make 4 manila files.
After that if you know make those files a CAB or copy paste at the windows folder with overwrite and soft reset.
Before you paste the new files at the windows, keep a copy from the original files so as to come back if you want.
AND DON'T FORGET: TAKE A BACKUP FROM YOUR DEVICE BEFORE.
I hope my post will help you to manage your wallpapers
Great guide mate thanks!
What? No more being fed by the spoon?
Thanks for the tutorial. Definitely will give it a go.
Many thanks for this great user guide
Thanks, it's now easy to make it by ourselves

Very Cool tut. I went straight to test it. Everything worked fine but.... in my case (Dutty HD V2 XTREME ROM) there is no 70083a24_manila.png, I found a 70083a29_manila.png. So I just changed the name it worked.
The only problem now is that le background picture is like covered with a 20% of opacity black layer, strangelly the portrait version is not affected by the same behavior......
Weird....
Did you check the interlaced option when saving the pngs?
Thanks
Great Job, BIG THANX!

Just tested - no difference between interlaced & non-interlaced in .png
The landscape is good, the portrait is like a 20% of opacity black layer (c pics).

Of course it is my mistake. The correct name of the file its 70083a29_manila.
From the moment which portrait and landscape are different files, you can fix all the problems in photoshop so as you have the best quality for every mode.

The same fix it in photoshop.
Has anyone experienced my dilemma, I am having a very thin line between these two pics, (highlighted in red box) can you try it with those plain black or yellow background colors and see if you get the same, otherwise its something im doing wrong. landscape is ok on the other hand. its not that obvious, but I notice it and it irritates me

Well, my photos all do have the same quality, they just look different in portrait and landscape, look above.
is there any other way to convert PNG > QTC .. i'm having a hard time with m9editor as it crashes every time with "memory corrupt" error
found a solution.. using CFC 0.46 to replace files

Yep I have the same thin line here in portrait mode.
Wallpaper must be dark color (Black, dark Grey, Blue dark e.t.c) because the light fonts let a line to look at the background.
Actually I don´t understand very well this part, the fonts are the reason why we have the thin line? And Kieboy's background is almost black and he have the thin line problem...So the darkness of the image is not the solution...
"the thin line"
as far as i understood it's because of the way the image was trimmed. There's a missing pixel(visible in the screenshot) which amounts for the black column.it's happening when we paste the trimmed piece to the blank transparent 512x512/512x256 png.Aligning the png's respectively with each other (left png aligned right, right to the left) made the thin red line disappear.
does it mean that in photoshop we gotta add a pixel more width(trimming for landscape mode)? or we trim by the recipe but salt it(align) it to our taste!?

for potrait.. push the upper image down a pixel.. lower image up a pixel..
logic : make sure (zoom in 200%photoshop while creating the png) that there's no missing pixel row(portrait mode)/column(landscape mode) It's all in alignment.
Nanoo-eg told us to align it likewise..he marked it up with yellow lines. but we all (with thin black line issues) have seemed to miss it
THANKS Nanoo-eg!

I think this will solve the problem.
Naw there is Mun_ras CAB, but it isn't possible to customise your backround like we make manual.
So if someone can make it manual, its match better.
I like MUN_RAS cab but from 20 wallpapers I can use only 2 as well.
I prefer the classic black looking of the HD (blackston ), so I think to make a theme for my self, with other Portrait background and other landscape. I need more business looking at the portrait mode.
i think the way around isn't working. sorry for so many posts and misguiding. but each post is after a try. and it all has failed!
trying to increase a pixel while trimming the pieces.. hope it helps!

So you mean with a 512x512 upper image, I will push down, resulting to the top part missing a pixel? (granting image was cropped exactly) or you mean that the lowest pixel 512 must have the pixel line found in 511? (confusing? lol) and vice versa. THANKS!

[HOWTO] WallPaper Cropping guide for A101 and A70

Note: This is a work in progress.
Note: All Image manipulation is done with GIMP.
Note: This guide is mainly for the A101 but can also be applied for the A70.
I was getting sick of not be able to take a good picture and use it as a wallpaper so that it looked good. I know there is an alternative "MultiPicture Live Wallpaper" but that thing is a memory hog.
PART 1
So I came up with this picture it's a PNG of 1200x1024. The different grids are the following sizes.
Blue: 8px
Green: 16px
Red: 32px
White: 64px
When this is set as a wallpaper we can finally see what is happening to the image.
Here are the screenshots for the 5 screens of the Stock Launcher of the Archos 101.
Screen 1
Screen 2
Screen 3
Screen 4
Screen 5
Since the status bar can not be hidden on the Stock Launcher we loose 32px at the top and on the right with the soft buttons we loose 40px. When positioned on the first screen we have a good view of the top left corner (1024x600) of the reference picture.
Now lets get to work with this picture below.
Size: 1680x1050
So what do we need to do. The result must be an image with a size of 1200x1024 for the A101 and 960x800 for the A70 where only the top 600px (A101) 480px (A70) will be visible in landscape mode.
Scaling the image to a height of 600px and keeping the aspect in mind. The result is a picture of 960x600
On the bottom add a 424px black border.
On both sides add a 120px black border.
and the result is
Size: 1200x1024
And the screenshot to prove it works.
This was tested with the Stock Launcher and ADW.Launcher.
PART 2
So this worked out because the original picture has a black background. So here is the solution for other pictures.
I made a multi layer xcf file with GIMP to address the problem. You can download it here for the A101 and here for the A70.
Open WallPaper_cropping.xcf in GIMP.
Select the "Background" layer.
File -> Open as Layer -> select the picture you want to crop.
Scale the layer to 1200px width and keep the aspect correct.
Position the layer so that the visible part looks good.
Turn visibility on/off so that only the layers "Background:, "The Picture", "Black Not Visible Part" are turned on.
Save the image as PNG with option "Merge Visible Layers"
Send to archos and apply as wallpaper with the Crop Wallpaper app and use the "Overall" button.
This is all for today. Next We'll see if we can do something with extending the background instead of cropping it.

many thanks
Worked fine for landscape But when I turn it portrait there is a black bar at the bottom - How do I get it to fill in that black space??
Using ADW Launcher if that has any effect on it...
Would put up a screenshot but the forum won't let me...

There is no way to do both landscape and portrait at the same time. So you have to choose.
ah ok- Thanks anyway.
Thanks wdl1908. It will be difficult for me to explain because of my poor english. But with your settings and my A70it it didn't (the image was too high). So I have set the top of my image at 183px and the bottom at 644px and now it's perfect. Maybe someone with skills could check those values cause I'm a newbie.
Thank you very much.

If you attach your original wallpaper I'll look at it to see what the best method is.
So this is my actual wallpapaper. In landscape I see everything of the middle layer and not the 2 others (normal). And in portrait I don't see the face of the guy on the first layer. But this is not important cause those layers are just there to fill the blanks in portrait mode.
The original picture was found on socwall and was 2500*1324px

Very nice wallpaper. I usually don't bother with the portrait mode as long as the landscape mode is shown correctly. I would just cut out the middle part and use that to fit into the portrait visible part of the template.

Very specific wallpaper request

When you set a wallpaper, it only shows a top part of the actual part you set while in landscape mode. I need a wallpaper that has a cool design, but will look right in landscape. So i guess its like this: A picture that has the part i want to cover the whole screen at the top, and the rest blank/empty. I need it to have a bar at the bottom of the picture part that is slightly different than the colors of the picture(see windows 7 taskbar). Im asking here because you guys know how this phone works. Also, the pic is only going to be used with one homescreen, so it has to fit. Sorry for the pic thats attached, not too good with pc's, but its a good example of what i mean. Im using adw with 8 columns by 6 rows, and the bar just needs to be under the bottom row. A cool design for the picture will do.
If the image is a .png it should scale correctly in Landscape.

Editing Image in S Note

Now I know we can draw on a picture in the gallery through photo editor and thats fine for a simple drawing, but photo editor lacks the ability to grab a specific color from the picture and match it, aka the lil color dropper icon, but in S Note it is available so after you insert an image and try drawing on it a lil while it keeps selecting the picture to be resized and its soooooo annoying because you can only do about 1 second of drawing until it happens again. Im not sure if any one else noticed this, but is there a way we can draw on a picture in S Note, and be able to grab a color from the pic and draw on it with out the picture turning blue and being highlighted to be resized? Its pretty frustrating....
SketchBookPro
I have not really played with S-Note so much and did not realise that it had a colour picker. Thanks I will try it and get back to you if. Solve your problem. Until then you should try SketchBookPro it cost, but is awesome.
Update: I just imported a picture to S-Note then swapped to the pen tool - pressed the pen tool icon to get the colour menu- pressed the colour picker icon- chose a colour from the picture - closed the colour picker and started drawing. The blu resize box did not appear!

[Q] Can Multiwindow (FlashBarService) tab "snap-to-center" be altered?

I'm not 100% sure if this is the right sub-forum for this question, but hopefully someone can help or at least point me in the right direction.
I'm making some minor tweaks to my Note 10.1 (2014), and as part of the process I swapped out the images for the "grab tab" to make it less conspicuous on the screen. The one other thing I would like to do but am unsure of where to start or how feasible it is would be to alter the "snap-to-center" position of the tab. The app calculates the center-point of the home screen but does not account for the area used by the notification bar, which results in the tab actually being slightly below center when it has been snapped to the center position, which isn't that noticeable in the landscape mode but it's (almost) right next to the home button in portrait mode. To put it plainly, this stimulates my OCD in a very negative manner...
So, does anyone know where I might find the script/code that controls the "snap-to-center" functionality so that I could try making some minor alterations? I browsed through almost all of the XML files in the decompiled app and didn't see anything obvious, but it seems like it should be in there somewhere, right?
I've attached a photo that kind of illustrates what I mean by the position being lower than center and its relative position to the home button. (Please excuse all the smudges on the screen!)
