about the Quick Charge 4.0+ - Redmi Note 8 Pro Questions & Answers

I want to optimize the charger's time speed by buying a new and trustful charger, but I don't have a clue about how many watts this Quick Charger 4.0+ on the redmi note 8 pro supports... someone may give me a little help? ?

Looks like even though the processor supports qc4.0, Xiaomi went with a qc3.0 Battery Charger chipset.

Correct, but it supports QC4.0 (as confirmed by others). May be two possible reasons 1) Bad marketing 2) The included charger is only QC3.0 (Why LG, why...its you flagship phone, show some respect and love)

Well QC4.0 chargers are almost none existant, that's why
A better QC 3.0 charger than the original (with more amps / 12 volt) can decrease charging time?

Yeah the 845 supports it but i dont think LG has enabled it in firmware.
Im just excited we have fast wireless charging thats useable.
Kind of like bands, the radio will do them all but most are firmware specific.

notice that when screen is on max current is around 1A and when is off is around 2.2A
so i think is useless buy an expensive charger when the firmware is limited to these values

Exactly, we need a custom kernel to have the charging amperes to be changed manually which is really cool. If we have a really cool custom kernel, the CPU governors should preset customisable governors (for smooth performance) and for the charge values, just look for a 3A charger, with the Kernel Adiutor change the values. Meaning the benefits of rooting gives us the complete freedom of our Android! If a 4A charger is detected by the kernel manager app, the charge values should show as "upto 4A even with the screen on! Then no need to be jealous of Dash Charging of One Plus!

Why? So G7 could pave the ways of Galaxy Note 7 and if not burn in flames then at least loose 50% of battery capacity in half a year? Sorry I'm not enlisting to shoot myself in the foot and throw expensive $700 phone in half a year to garbage can just because

Yes, and no, i think the only one "problem" (or protection?) is the limit at 1 amp when the screen is unlocked, 20 volt i think isn't so useful if we use a good usb cable

But, even Samsung said and officially stated that after Note 7 fiasco they made same limit of 1A when screen is unlocked to prevent fast battery degrading. Samsung knows better then XDA uses, I think

It's not 20 volts. That's way too much for a battery. It's actually 9v + 2 amps. 20v it's mostly for Tables i think.

9 Volts isn't even Quick Charge 3.0, it's legacy QC 2.0.
QC 3.0 & 4.0 compatible phones can get charged from 20V, 12V, 9V and 5V

Need to know about the charging info cause my note 5 pro is charging at a speed of 970 ma on quick charge 3.0
As I don't know how much are the charging rates of QC 3.0 and the normal charging rate of the normal stock charger .

45W Compatible Charging Bricks?

I know the phone hasn't hit the streets yet, HOWEVER, does anyone know of any cheap 45W chargers that will be compatible with the Note 10+?? I know probably any 45W charger would do, but are any better than the others?

Before I switched back to the iPhone, this is what I loved about my Note 9, being able to use my 87w Apple MacBook Pro charger to charge my Note.
Is the Samsung official 45w charger that will be coming out soon special in some way to trigger this fast charging mode? Or do any 45w or higher chargers work?
Also, does anybody know if the Note 10+ supports the smart charging logic that Apple has in iOS 13, where it doesn't top off the phone every time (to prolong overall battery health)?
I have a 40W charger from my old huawei mate20 pro however it outputs 10V 4A max which isn't a standard thing. Will the note10+ utilize that kind of rating or will I be stuck with the charger's lower rating which is 18W (9V, 2A).
Edit: Guess no one would actually be able to answer this right now, I'll just have to try it myself when the phone arrives.

Wireless Charger Pad Slim EP-P1100 Isn't it fast charge?

Guys, I bought this Wireless Charger Pad Slim EP-P1100T, to use on my Note 10 Plus, the information says it has a fast charge, but when I put my device on it, fast charge information does not appear even though it is enabled on the cell phone, is it really so? Android 10 does not show the message?
I think you should use Quick charge 3.0 charging head not the samsung 25w head with it , anyway even if you use the suitable charger with it Note 10 plus automatically shut off fast wireless charging when using slim pad for more that 20% of fast charging because of heat issues since slim charging pads don't have cooling fans and they heat up very quickly
I have one of these also, the only fast charger that enables fast charge with that wireless charger is my old Note 9 charger, it provides the 18w QC2.0 the wireless charger needs.

Yes, this charger was designed for the previous generation of phones (S9, Note9 ect) which included a compatible charger. Samsung confirms this here: https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/m...nes/wireless-charger-pad-slim-ep-p1100bbegww/
Samsung doesn't use Quick Charge technology since it's a Qualcomm only feature and Samsung uses its own chipset which isn't Snapdragon.
Instead, it uses Power Delivery which is a standard and better in all aspects.

That's not entirely true, Samsung definitely do sell phones with the Qualcomm Snapdragon SOC and the 15W charging on most of their previous phones (S6, S7, S8 and S9 generations) was QC2.0 or QC2.0 compatible. This is why I am able to fast charge my Exynos Note 9 at full 15W with a QC3.0 charger.
USB Power Delivery is good but it's just another charging protocol, later versions of Qualcomm Quick Charge are also USB-PD compatible.

It's not just an other charging protocol, it's an USB standard, that's means all USB ports will have it by default.
Quick charge is proprietary licensed and will be dead soon because there's no use of paying licence for nothing.
And it's not the same at all. Power Delivery is made for dynamically adjusting current intensity and tension depending of the device you plug in and battery level, for them to take only what it needs.
Quick charge isn't, that's why you need dedicated QC ports on chargers.
It's easy for QC to be "compliant" if it shares one similar spec, but it's useless since all next USB ports will use USB-PD.
And that how it worked before, with fast charging, you only had to take in consideration that the output specs and the chargers is equal or higher to the input specs of the battery to get fast charge, but it's risky for the battery.
It may appear silly, but for efficiency and durability, lithium ion battery should not be charged at the same current and intensity at all levels and that's at least one reason why it's important.

Does anyone know if the charger poco f3 comes with supports quick charge 3+ that the phone also supports?

The phone comes as 33w quick charge 3+. My question was whether the 33w charger in the phone box charges with the quick charge 3+ protocol. I cant say it more simply than that.
When checked via CIT hardware test, it shows PD protocol.

Pd is power delivery
I think the charger attached is using everything poco f3 is capable. Very fast charging speed.
From what I heard from another thread the Poco F3 has a usb 2 port with extra pinout for 33W PD communication with the charger
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I just found it through a search. From what I read, the QC system pays a royalty to Qualcomm because it is their proprietary technology, while PD is royalty free. The F3 has QC instead of PD. QC is much more efficient and produces less heat when charging a battery from what I read.
In the long run, try to use the QC charger that comes with the F3 to prolong the battery life (i.e. less heat generation while charging - heat's the real battery killer)

I only QC charge my Poco F3 and confirm that is cooler than PD.
