I ordered the Ultra Black from ATT via Samsung web site. When I originally set up the "invitation" I had wanted to get the 512 GB version - and that was accepted - but when I made the preorder today, there were not any 512 GB versions avaialble for ATT on Samsung - Only Samsung Unlocked - Kind of dissapointed - but I will get it over it - maybe its fate -

I ordered my 512gb Black S20 Ultra at 12:01 last night from Tmobile. Really hoping they ship before the 6th

Unlocked from Samsung shows shipping "by the 4th". Which makes sense as release day is the 6th. For $11 extra they do overnight shipping. That's a joke because the warehouse of origin is always a single day ground zone! YMMV of course.
My Note 10+ arrived Tuesday and release day was Friday so it's possible to get them earlier. Carrier shipping is weird. Sometimes the account is charged a week out and you have a tracking number but the courier holds it. Annoying AF.
In any case, we're two weeks out. Unless of course, you go with Best Buy where often times things get screwed up and you don't even get your phone on release day! FTS. Been there, done that. When unlocked phones had 45 days return on Rewards Elite+ it was worth playing the game but not now. They also charge restocking fees even on unlocked phones now. So FU Best Buy!

New lower prices Find 7 and Find 7a

I've wanted this phone for the longest time.
So, last Friday I was expecting delivery of a Note 4. I had gotten a killer deal @ $599 flat I get an email, that morning, from oppostyle, telling me the phone is now available in the US at a savings of $250 off. I know he phone is now a little bit older, but it is the one I had really lusted after. I had watched pre-release and then afterwards, dismayed it hadn't been released for the US market. With the price drop the phone is very attractive.
Anyway, I ditched the Note 4 and the Spigen case I'd bought for it, at my full cost and have ordered the Oppo 7.
Can't wait to get it.

Yes, ordered it on the 12th, came in today, the 18th.
Well, things happened really quickly once they got moving. But very little notice in between.
I ordered Thursday, 3-12-2015, and I got a notice saying they'd received my payment and order, and that they'd post a tracking # once it was available.
But things kinda "went dark" til late Monday, or so. Then yesterday I get a text message, from DHL, saying delivery was anticipated for today.

I'm setting it up for T-Mobile. Slapped the SIM from my Galaxy S3 and my 64gig mSDXC in there, put it in the case, put the battery in and voila.
The case that comes with it replaces the back cover ( put it away in a nice safe place you'll remember ). The phone walks you right through setup. Then just log into your Google account. Easy. Once I was setup, the phone let me know that there was an update available for the ColorOS and I went ahead and did that.
Oppo does a hell of a job packaging the phone. Very meticulous.
Going to be getting a different case than what comes with it, though. The flip style deal doesn't work real well for me, as the phone has to stay in my pants pockets. Still it is kind of cool. The installed screen protector is well fit, to the phone (kind of), but is of low quality. They include a different screen protector in it's own packaging and I'll be putting that on tomorrow. However, I'll be ordering a tempered glass one along with the different case, shortly.
Slim pickings for that, as they don't have the market saturation that iphones and Samsung devices do; so there is not as much monetary incentive to put a lot of 3rd party stuff out there. The choice of cases available is very limited.

I have also ordered a tempered glass from amazon. My main goal is to get my Wifi Tether going on this phone. As I couldn't do that on my Note 4 because of no root options and to use Titanium Backup again. Enjoy your phone bro and thanks again.

Nope the us doesn't have import taxes. I picked up a nice used one not Long ago and really like mine. And I've owned a one plus one before and this is much nicer. Its a real nice phone. But I think this is a better deal then the one plus one.

Production Delays?

So, I have a gut feeling that Elephone is having a tough time producing this phone. Why,?
1) GearBest originally had a shipping date of Nov 23. This is now the middle of Dec and they currently have no stock. This is despite taking thousand of pre-orders. Every time I contact them they say it is packed and ready for shipping and to wait another 1-2 days . . rinse and repeat. In reality they have no stock.
2) Coolicool have moved their shipping date to the middle of Dec
3) The only reviews I see on the web are from (what appear to be) hand picked reviewers, or people just using the stock renders.
4) No one on Aliexpress appears to have got one despite thousands of orders.
Interesting for a phone which was supposed to start shipping a week ago.
I want mine!

I think Elephone underestimated the amount of pre orders they would receive and are shipping first to customers the purchased the S7 directly from them rather than stocking resellers.
I know Gearbest have the Black 4gb/64gb in stock - about 190 pieces left - for $229 as mine has just been shipped.
As for the other colours/configurations I'm not sure. However I do know the Blue 4gb/64gb is due in stock at both Gearbest & GeekBuying on the 11th Dec as I've spoken to them both.
I originally wanted a the Blue version but didn't want to wait until the new year to get the phone in my hands as it's a Xmas gift to myself (which I do every year) so I changed my order to the Black one which should be here by mid Dec.
So the moral of the story is if you want an S7 ASAP go check out the Black version at Gearbest.

The thing that really annoys me with GearBest is that they stated a shipping date when you pre-order, but clearly haven't secured the stock to do so. Now when contacted, they know they don't have stock, but won't admit to it. Instead it is "please wait 1 or 2 days more". Honesty goes a long way. I wonder if the other resellers got stuck with this too.
I'd be interested to know when your one arrives.
Mine is now marked as shipped. but I think GearBest are playing games again. If I go to DHL I can see a shipping label has been printed but the parcel hasn't actually been picked up from GearBest. Having worked in a number of companies closely associated with large despatching operations, I can't see why you would tell DHL (a priority shipping service) there is a parcel to pick up, then leave it sitting in Despatch for over 24 hours. . . More games.

My personal opinion is that Elephone hasn't delivered (so far) on it's promises to resellers. With the S7 looking like its going to be Elephones biggest ever seller - by far, I do think they gave all major resellers the same original delivery date and have struggled to ramp up production. I think this is the case as I've spoken to eFox, Geekbuying, Gearbest and Dealsmachine and they have all initially said they would deliver in late November and now they all all saying mid December.

This is nothing new for Gearbest and is the reason I chose not to go with DHL, I've ordered a few products via this method with GB and its always taken 3-4-5 days from getting my tracking info for my package to physically enter DHLs system - I've also been hit with import tax a few times which has never happened to me with other shipping companies.
Finally, I hope your receive your device quickly and with no issues, be sure to keep us updated with the situation

So the plot thickens. . . .
Using the tracking information I could see that DHL got a shipping notification on the first day . . . . then everything stopped. I have had a lot of things shipped via DHL and other courier services and it is very unusual for a priority service to not update for 24 hours plus.
GearBest via support tickets and LiveChat, just kept telling me to wait 2 more days, wait 3 days for an investigation, wait 2 days for tracking information etc etc etc.
I ended up doing my own investigation by calling DHL on their local contact centre.
Result?
Singapore Customs were holding the phone with concerns that it contained hazardous materials. Specifically the DHL operator questioned whether the phone was a Samsung Galaxy Note 7. I suspect that the designs are so similar that Customs may be mis-identifying these units when x-raying them, as Note 7s are banned from all carriers. As GearBest are the shippers only they can update the shipping information to get it released.
So I contacted GearBest again and twice got "please wait 3-4 days for an investigation". I got a bit stroppy with them at this point and just got a notification through from DHL that the parcel appears to be moving again.
So if you see your Elephone S7 stop moving for an extended period of time on DHL. Start questioning it.

Also once the parcel has entered the shipping system there's not really too much Gearbest can do to help hurry to process along, unless its a documentation issue - But can see why this can be annoying.

Mine has just left HK airport so hoping it'll be arriving at the UK sorting centre in the next few days with no customs issues.......fingers crossed!
I ordered my S7 64GB via Gearbest on Oct 21, was delivered on 28th Nov to UK.
Given that 22nd Nov was the date which GB said the stocks will arrive, it was pretty fast delivery.
I shipped via Priority Mail some £1-2 extra & there was no customs charges.
(Using the 'courier shipment' option is known to attract customs charges. Best of luck.)

It was a documentation issue. SG Customs held it until the shipper (GearBest) finally contacted them to update the shipping information. They only did this after sitting on the issue for a week of me getting increasingly agitated with the "Please wait" responses from GearBest.

What spec and colour did you order? Apparently Elephone were very late delivering sufficient stocks of the Blue 64GB version and others.

Thought it might have been. The black has been in stock most of the way through.
I finally have my hands om my 64GB Blue model and I am quite impressed so far. Usually with Chinese electronics I purchase there always seems to be some quirk or weird behaviour that takes the gloss off the product. After 24 hours, I've yet to find one.
I preordered a green version, but it seems there are production troubles. This morning gearbest sent me a mail:

There have been some discussions during the last week of Jan regarding a bundle of S20 + buds+ for free if you Pre-order.
I'm on Tmobile US and did not see any mentioning of that, nothing was mentioned also during the announcement.
Does anyone have any details on that?

It does and it doesn't! Pre-order on Samsung.com and you get a $200 samsung shop credit, which you can use for the buds+.
I'm on the tmobile Jump program so I was planning to upgrade through them.
Last year I did the same for my S10+. They ran similar promotion and I got my Buds..
Just hoping that tmobile will do the same though no info from there on that.

For the S10 you bought the phone then submitted a receipt to Samsung. They give you a credit for the price of the buds, but you could spend it on other things if you wanted.

I think there was a form I had to fill up with Samsung... But whatever that is, I hope I will eventually get the Buds+ for free if I get my phone through Tmobile.
I get the buds plus for free as well , just as well with the 1500 spent on the 512gb version , only a pain not getting mine until march 12 ( holland) and not on the 6th like everyone else.went for the grey version as i have not yet had a grey phone before. The option for the free buds was in the ordering options on samsungs website.
pre ordered from UK Vodafone not sure how you submit proof of purchase for the buds+ offer when you buy through their call centre?

In the us, only the $200 credit is available.
It comes with a $200 credit, and have the option to spend or use it during the pre order. I used it to buy the Galaxy Watch 2, added $49 only.
It depends on the region. US and Korea get a credit and for example Europe gets the Buds+.
T-Mobile just reminded me you get the credit when you sign in and register with your new phone on Shop Samsung. It'll be the $200 credit.
Just preordered the Ultra. Used $200 credit for the free AKG Noise Canceling cans instead (I already have way too many true wireless earbuds, but didn't have any NC anything, so that made up my mind).
You have to go on the Samsung shop app once you get your phone if you ordered outside of Samsung.com or Samsung shop and enter your imei and upload your receipt from your carrier. Then you will get $200 in like 2-6 weeks. I actually got $235 because I registered when they first sent emails out about pre-orders.
I got an email this morning saying pre orders were ready. When I clicked the link within the email, I followed through with the order and was able to get the $235 instant credit since the email was tied to my reservation. Was able to order myself the new Galaxy Buds+, the 45 watt fast wall charger, and black silicon case. Not a bad deal at all especially with me getting $600 off for my S10+. Said delivery by March 4th, less then 2 weeks away ???

I also got a decent trade in (450) for the iPhone 11 I previously used in the US. So definitely 27/8 cannot come fast enough

The international version should still be root friendly (well as friendly as Samsung phones are) Samsung can't change the rules just because different cpu
I always buy my device using the Samsung upgrade program, and get a sim separately
Currently using a Vodafone esim with unlimited data for £29/month. I usually use a minimum of 600Gb/month, and as much as 2Tb.
Ordered the 512gb Fold3 and watch4 classic, looking forward to it!
Pre-ordered on 3 unlimited everything - first 6 months are 55 then up to 110 - will be shedding the wife's N10 towards future contract costs to reduce further.
Hoping to get a rom together reasonably quickly (depending on how many spanners Sammy have thrown in the works and differences from N20U)

I have been developing on the Tab S6 for over a year now and that's snapdragon
The main difference to Exynos i have noticed is lack of modifiable upparam on SD devices (to get rid of annoying red text when rooted)
Just noticed the free Starter Kit is availability until 31 December! This means you do get a S Pen included, in reality.
I did the rounds with a spreadsheet and figured out buying the phone from samsung.com with a vodafone contract was best. They had a deal for £59/mo plus £380 up front, unlimited calls, texts and 100GB 5G data. Total £1796. Nearly £200 cheaper than buying the phone outright and sticking on my £16.21/mo three contract. Going directly through carriers and looking at 100GB+ data was no competition either, vodafone and o2 about £2.2k, Three £2.3k, EE £2.5k etc.
I don't know if that works with tradeins, vouchers etc. so it might be possible to go cheaper.
I got mine from very, got 10% off when making first credit account purchase when using: welcome as discount code I believe…
Ended up paying 1490 down from the 1599.

They didn't hold onto them last year. I got mine early but not a whole week. I can see tracking in my Samsung order which forwards me to DPD but not had an email from DPD yet

Question T-mobile Fold 3 Pre-order Backorder

Has anyone who pre ordered through T-Mobile with the backorder gotten their phone shipped or received shipping info yet?
I pre ordered kind of late on August 24th, and got notified that it would be backordered with a delivery date of 9/16-10/7, but I'm worried that the shipping estimate may actually end up being in October.
I am on T-Mobile as well, but I ordered through Samsung direct and mine was supposed to be here on 09/14, but it slipped to 09/21 and it looks like it is going to slip again as it has not shipped yet.
I wonder if buying the Unlocked one would have been faster?

Yeah I thought about going the unlocked route as well, but after seeing the issues with activation some people were having I backed off of it. Hopefully we'll get ours before October.
I didn't pre-order due to another issue. I did order on the 2nd and received mine on the 3rd. I got phantom black 256 GB. I know the other colors where on backorder.
I just got off the phone with Samsung, it looks like it will be here on or around the 21st (not telling with FedEx (I HATE FEDEX))...
Im having same issue with samsungs galaxy watch 4. I ordered it weeks ago and the app says will ship week of Sept 13th and then on the website says will arrive by Oct 10th.

The answer is yes. I ordered unlocked through Samsung on 4SEP (USA, 256GB, Black), and mine will be delivered tomorrow.
I ordered two ZF3s about two weeks ago. My T-Mobile order status still says its being processed with a ship date of 9/9-9/13. I wonder when it will ACTUALLY ship.

Smh. I spoke with one of the Tmobile reps on Twitter, and they told me the same thing that shows on my account - estimated delivery date of 9/17 to 10/7. T-Mobile has been dropping the ball on pre orders for the last few years.

Disagree. Last few years? T-Mobile almost always has my annual preorders delivered to me before Samsung's official release dates. This year I got the Watch4 Classic nearly a week before release and the ZF3 on the day of release.
Yikes, glad I never ordered through T-Mobile. The trade in deals were tough to pass up, but I'm not on a Magenta plan so I didn't get the full benefits. Hopefully you guys get yours soon.
I ordered mine from T-Mobile yesterday (19 September) and they told me that it would ship between 27 October and 11 November. I HAVE TO WAIT OVER A MONTH FOR IT TO SHIP!!!!
Ugh. I might just cancel and buy one elsewhere. The only reason I was getting it through T-Mobile was their $1k trade in but the way it works being stretched over 3 years really sucks.
I'm not cancelling my order until I have one in hand. I am also looking around for anyone willing to take my Note 20 Ultra (512GB with 512GB Card) in partial trade for a 512GB ZF3.
