Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 SM-R820 Region Change Files - Samsung Galaxy Watch

Hi guys,
First post, so please let me off if I haven't followed protocol properly. I have been looking at all the other threads and posts and I have come to the conclusion that this is possible, but I need some guidance:
Bought the watch second hand. Samsung Pay isn't available. Samsung Tech help believe the watch isn't from the UK. I also believe this to be true, as when it is reset, the first language to appear is German, before it syncs with the phone and changes to English.
So I would like to change the region from Germany to England to get Samsung Pay enabled.
I have downloaded NetOdin3
I am capable of connecting to the watch in boot mode through wireless.
I have downloaded the combination firmware and stock firmware from https://forum.xda-developers.com/sm.../samsung-galaxy-watch-mactive-2-gwa2-t3968437 where adfree posted the links.
This is where I am stuck. I am unsure if these are the right files for the UK, because that thread was to change it from Germany to "ser"
From what I've read I need to change some text in the combination firmware, but how do I do this, in NetOdin3? or some other program.
Secondly what do I need to change it from and to? I understand its to get the region from Germany to UK, but what is the region code for the UK?
I appreciate I am a total beginner and have probably just asked some real basic questions, however after reading the thread about the guy who flashed his 820 with 830 firmware and bricked it, I'm a little more worried about getting something wrong.
Cheers in advance

You have to change from DBT to BTU..BTU is UK CSC.
Best regards

OK, thanks.
So do I need to edit the files that @adfree linked in SDP?
or are those files ready to go and do I need to edit some files off the watch somehow?
Cheers

Hi,
you should read this post and follow the guide here:

Thanks, the video on the last page made it much easier to understand the instructions, especially if you havent done this before. it was in russian, but its easy enough to follow.

Oh, quick question, after doing all this, will it be ok to install updates from samsung as they come, just as normal?

Looking stock firmware for SM-R805F

Hi everyone,
I just recently got a SM-R805N (Korea LTE ver) and want to change its region.
However the CSC variants in the stock only contains Korea telecom (as mentioned in the CSC thread by ecoco1)
I am trying to use the old fashion way: flash in the combination firmware, switch the CSC and then flash back to stock, in which, the CSC I am looking for is in SM-R805F version
However, I cannot find any free source for SM-R805F firmware online... all those available , also in this XDA forum, is only for bluetooth version.
Would anyone in XDA able to source the R805F firmware? (best to have both combination & stock?)
Thanks a million

Thanks adfree, but its too late... I have already bricked my brand new galaxy watch...
Now the watch wont go into any mode below. All it does is have a flash of horizontally line screen, consistently.
continue
factory command
recovery
download (wireless)
Tried the method "press 2 seconds, release 1 second" does not work, think it corrupted the partition.
Only mode still work is "download" which shows the screen correctly. What make it worse is I reset the watch before doing this and forget to turn off activation lock (but I have my own user name and password, think that does not make it worse then?)
Appreciate if any idea on how to tackle this... am already thinking about buying the usb connector for odin flash...(hopefully something will make it work again...)
Suggestion, if you want try it self at home....
Look into this post:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78545468&postcount=74
Look into Video...
You can also click around this Thread... to see diffferent "solutions"...
Security prevent netOdin use... IMHO no way without USB to flash again.
If you have POGO Connector... Odin...
Then try FIRST to flash SM-R805N...
I see at this time it is not leaked...
So you need luck to flash SM-R805N Firmware...
Hopefully Warranty Void will still:
0 0x0000
Seems 3 SM-R805N Stock Firmware leaked:
Code:
R805NKOU1ARK8
R805NKOU1ARJ6
R805NKOU1ARHJ
You can PM me... if you need Help with POGO...

Thank you @deadman96385 for the firmware
Hi adfree, here is the photo of the "Download" screen
Now i need to get my hand on the cable to try it out...
Thanx for Photo. :good:
Good:
A
SM-R805N to see...
So sboot.bin is not overwritten...
B
Warranty void still 0 0x0000
So Knox not dripped... BUT you have to wait for final result after Repair Flash...
Not so good = IMHO bad...
Reactivation Lock is ON...
This means MORE f&%ing Security...
As "we" have only Stock Firmware...
If no luck then also Warranty Void Value will change... maybe.
P.S...
partition.pit aka PIT is 1:1 same between SM-R805F and SM-R805N... except the RSA 2048 Signature crap at the end of file.

My Galaxy is back alive! Thanks everyone in this thread. Tested the following:
Install R805N firmware: Download mode: Works
Install R805F firmware:
Download mode: PIT fail instantly, without install
Download (Wireless): Able to complete the install -> Fail warning in red -> Bricked
Tried for combination firmware, or CSC only, same result
Guess I will never have chance to change my CSC then...? (Unless there is a combination R805N available which has all CSC countries inside?)

Change the CSC on a .MD5 file

Hey Guys,
The title is pretty self-explanatory, I purchased a Galaxy Watch active from a Hong Kong seller not realising it would stop me from using Samsung Pay. As it is a new model I've only found one copy of the Firmware .MD5 files and the CSC is not the Australian one (which is the country that I live in). Is it possible to change the CSC code and thus the region of the .MD5 file so I can Flash my watch and get it onto the right region and unlock Samsung Pay?
I apologise if this is a stupid or naive question this is all brand new to me and I'm still trying to keep up.

Hey, sorry for the delay in reply I was able to simply push the change of the region following this tutorial: https://l.messenger.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fforum.xda-developers.com%2Fsmartwatch%2Fgear-sport%2Fchanging-region-samsung-gear-sport-r600-t3771324&h=AT3gL1EJTD_LzPupE_pcei82eesT1O0MKpVQZGSgoTro4ovlL9xync975ADDZ67vB2UNTW7C_4dmZ5WRKU3anMSWN8dssfrihNs8SZH3LfhrIVqv-wn2MKbt5fW4K_jCN3hLiObSfgARdyN3SlnrVw no need to fuss about finding the right software or even cracking into the watch it was dead easy and wireless.
Hope this helps!
I've tried the region reset on my SM-R500, but I can't find the Irish (or UK) network providers in the list when doing the reset. I've got a watch that was set to UAE, so I'm guessing that specific firmware doesn't come with Irish regional settings? Any workaround to this? Is it possible to flash a suitable firmware and if so, where would I find the correct firmware?

I try to change my CSC to be able to activate the eSIM and Samnsung Pay,but i'm unable to do that in sdb (it says launch_app csc-manager.csc-pre-configuration that is successful but on my watch it doesn't show the CSC menu).

Phones have USB cable for Emergency Flashing.
Samsung Watches is bigger problem if you kill the """WiFi Security chain"""...
You have not USB cable for easy second attempt.
And the LTE Watches makes more trouble... if you doing something wrong or simple out of luck.
You asked about worst case...
netOdin is not 100 % riskfree.

Hi, I have SM-R805F bought in Czech rep. Can I use these instructions for downgrade my firmware to change my region (I want Samsung Pay)? I have saved my eSIM in my watches now - after flashning it will stay there or will be deleted? Thanks a lot
@ohajo3
Yes you can. Do not reset networks after flash during setup. Esim will stay.
I changed my CSC to Australia to get the Samsung Pay but this disabled VoLTE on my watch. I m now not able to call or receive any calls. I m from India. Watch was originally purchased in Australia.
During this process I was prompted for update which I did and now I m stuck with 4.0.0.7 version and no way to change the CSC back to INU using shell access way.
Only way now looks to use the combination firmware and Odin. But not sure where to find the Combination Firmware for SM-R805F LTE version.
Anyone or @adfree can point me to right direction to get the right required binaries ?
My device details
AP : R805FXXU1FSL4
CP: R805FXXU1FSL4
CSC: R805FOXX1FSL4
LTE version.
Can anyone help with the right binary I should use to downgrade?
These are my device details:
AP : R805FXXU1FSL4
CP: R805FXXU1FSL4
CSC: R805FOXX1FSL4
LTE version.
Not able to find combination firmware for this version. Not very sure which one I should use.
Thanks in advance.
@madono
You wish to have India INU?
http://fota-cloud-dn.ospserver.net/firmware/INU/SM-R805F/version.test.xml
IMHO seems INU require OXX package...
Here are 2 OXX packages:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79644543&postcount=1
According to DBT list... they are before Tizen 4.0.0.7
So please try these 2 firmwares... with the old method to change CSC...
So IMHO no Combination Firmware required...
Only downgrade...
Best Regards
Edit 1.
Sorry, my fault...
Links expired.
Edit 2.
Oh, totally forgotten...
Latest FTC1 for OXX region is here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=82893207&postcount=55
INU inside this OXX region.
@adfree Thanks for the links! I m downloading it right now. Speed is slow, not sure if I will be able to download it in one go. Is there any expiry for this download link? If I m not able to download today, will try tomorrow again.
Another question for downgrade, do I have to choose all four files , namely, BL, AP, CP, CSC to downgrade?
I have not done a galaxy watch downgrade before so wanted to be sure not to mess it.
I actually wanted to have Samsung Pay and LTE enabled. It was working fine using Australia CSC code but my Phone operator recently changed calling only on VoLTE. So i was not able to receive calls or call anyone. Only internet was working using AU CSC.
Now it seems I have to choose between calling and Samsung Pay. SP is not officially launched on Galaxy Watch in India. Only on smartphone it is allowed. Not sure why.
Thank you once again!
Regards,
madono
Hi @adfree,
I downloaded the firmware from the link. Today was bit hard day at work so not trying to update watch.
Will try it out with fresh mind tomorrow. Just need couple of things cleared before I try it.
1. In firmware download steps, it is mentioned to only use BL, AP, CSC file?
Downloaded rar has 4 files. Is this fine?
And final one this is my current watch status
AP : R805FXXU1FSL4
CP: R805FXXU1FSL4
CSC: R805FOXX1FSL4
Watch is LTE model.
I m good to go ahead with said firmware?
@adfree please review, don't want to mess this one. I know there is always risk but want to use correct firmware.
Thanks for the help!

Finally was able to downgrade to 4.0.0.4 and watch did not explode
This link has 4.0.0.7

After download I was still on 4.0.0.7 and looks like my CSC was still pointing to AU
I used this link to downgrade : https://www.file-upload.net/download...E3_OXX.7z.html
Then SDB command to change CSC from AU to India
Thanks to @adfree
One thing I observed that my eSIM was not reset. I was expecting it will be removed when I downgrade. Looks like it is left alone in this process.
Not sure if there is any way to enable Samsung Pay without changing CSC. Missing SP very much in current time.

Did I correct understand:
To change CSC by old method (with SDB) it is needed:
1. Flash with Odin all 4 files (early Firmware)
2. Change CSC with SDB
3. Install Samsung Pay
4. Flash with Odin all 4 files (latest firmware) back to FSL4
and Samsung Pay will stay?

Looking for EU CSC for SM-R825F can anyone help?

Hi I have the LTE Galaxy Watch Active 2 SM-R825F .
I have the R825FSSADBT s/w version.. I have issues with local esim compatibility here in Greece and I want to test a Greek CSC. Can anyone help with EU/COS version of this watch to flash? And if it is uploaded somewhere can anyone provide me with a link or the files?
Thanks in advance

Y u want to try i can help you
do you know how to use net odin and r u ready to take risk.
Thanks for your time man yeah I've been doing this since HTC HD2 era I wasn't afraid of that.
I thought it was a specific f/w I had to d/l for flashing the specific CSC of my country in order to change it..Just like with ROMs. Then I watched the whole procedure and realised it had to do with messing with inf file after flashing a universal f/w to change the CSC and then push the commands through terminal before flashing back the OG f/w.
The proceduce was successful and now I can use mobile services of my country, which wasn't feasible before
Again thanks for your time

Change region to Active 2 Model SM-R835U

Hi guys!
I want to change the region to my active 2 LTE from US to Mexico so that I can use my Mexican carrier. I got it thinking it was globally unlocked but it looks like it's locked to the US.
I've seen some tutorials but they are for older versions (Tizen 4). This watch is on Tizen 5.5.0.1.
Can anyone please help me out with this?
Thank you very much
Looks like Mexico is OWO Region package... with CSC:
TCE
Step 1.
We need Combination Firmware...
Attached is slightly "modified"... only removed folder + 1 file...
Step 2.
We need OWO package of SM-R835F...
Best Regards
this works if the watch is already on 5.5.01 firmware? version FXXU1BT9
i need some help to not mess it up. since it only has one go through the wireless method.
thanks
