Fake as tits.
I downgraded from 10 to 9 including hopping between some custom ROMs here and there and I'm currently running the latest Android 9 version.
Mi A2/Lite has anti rollback so this holds true, Mi A3 however does not.

Going back and forth between android versions on a device with an unlocked bootloader using a custom recovery, and doing so in a stock device are two pretty different things.

Did it with a locked bootloader, straight up downgraded from 10 to Android 9. So far no issues what so ever

Yeah, I think what Xiaomi meant is that apps may have issues with it, which is to be expected as such

I flashed fastboot rom for android 9.0 pie with no issues after getting Android 10 OTA.

How come there are others who has no problems while others have sensor problems

Downgrade and sensor malfunction
I downgraded android 10 to 9 in MI A3 and the sensors are not working after.
light sensor
proximity sensor
gyroscope
compass
non of the sensors are detected following downgrade
how to fix this? if anyone could downgraded without sensor problem please share how .
thank you.

Can I install MIUI 8.7.26 (MIUI10) without worrying about ARB?

I have a Redmi Note 5 Global with MIUI 9.5.19, and I want to install 8.7.26 (MIUI10) because I can't unlock my bootloader yet (14 days to go).
My question is: can I do that safely without bricking my device? And can I go back to MIUI 9.5.19 if I wanted to?
Thanks!
I did same thing and it worked flawlessly.

You have a locked bootloader? You used a recovery ROM or a fastboot ROM (MiFlash tool)?
Thanks!

Just update through the phones settings with the zip file. You might need to try different MIUI 10 versions. There is always only one version you can go to from your current MIUI 9 version. Took me 4 tries but now it's working great

I flashed MIUI 8.7.26 through the method you mentioned without issues, but it has so many bugs, especially with notifications on lockscreen that bother me so much. Do you know if I can revert back to global stable MIUI 9 with the same method without issues with ARB?

Yeah I know that... What I mean to say is. Most of the people download official ROM package from official website and try to flash update using custom recovery and this will cause mobile brick..
That's why Xiaomi suggest not to downgrade to Oreo after android pie update (miui android pie)

No it's a problem, even if you flashed firmware-less most of the functions won't work, at least that's what happened with me, no camera, no earpiece, no vibration and ofc more under the hood.
We're stuck on pie and even the custom ROMs need to be updated to the new vendor because the situation is the same.
Pie is so far so good but I'm surprised that exFAT isn't working!! now my sdcard is useless! i checked and the module is missing which is exfat.ko, don't know if they forgot to add it or what now!! also all the recoveries i tried give a problem with data and encryption so it need to be updated, other than that all is good.
Anyone tried latest xiaomi.eu build 9.3.25?

TBH I didn't try because of the problems I heard people were having. But with the original pie update I had to use orange fox recovery just to get out of encryption it was a mess. I am going to try to flash a pie rom but if you are flashing an Oreo MIUI make sure the firmware folder is not in the zip or you will brick your device.

Agreed. This seems a bit strange for me. Are you sure guys you cant simply go back to Oreo?
As long as anti is fine, it should not be a problem. Maybe there is a new mechanism now which we dont know.

I've Installed China and Global Pie then reflashed 10.2.2 without problems with MiFlash, haven't tried with custom recovery, i think you will not have problems.

Yes you can do anything if the anti version is same..
But Xiaomi recommends not to downgrade to Oreo after android pie update. (There won't be any problem as long as we use MiFlash tool)
Maybe Xiaomi will introduce new anti version for stable android pie update
Here http://en.miui.com/thread-6004916-1-1.html you can read moderator suggests not to flash Oreo ROM after updating to android pie.
Maybe Xiaomi moderator mentions same thing for our device during public beta release

Do not do this, because if you do, you will probably make your device unusable. Read this before: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-max-3/help/help-mi-max-3-hard-bricked-anti-roll-t3834769 and mostly this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-max-3/how-to/anti-rollback-activated-mi-max-3-t3830448

It is possible to go to 10.0.1.0 Global Oreo or Even 8.11.23 beta Oreo, etc.
You need to unlock bootloader first and then have some flash the firmware by remote EDL. Meaning you have to pay money for that service.
The only Oreo version you cannot go back to is 9.6.6.0, its just not possible because the ARB number is not 4.

This version of Miui does not, because the ARB is active. If you try, you'll probably have a lot of work to do to fix it. Have you tried any rom xiaomi.eu or any GSI? Overall, they are better than the global stock.

Relock bootloader after flashing ROM Indonesia

SOLVED !!!: My Redmi Note 8 Pro is the Global Version, can I block the bootloader without brick risk after flashing the Indonesian ROM?
Some moderator could support me to move the thread to Redmi Note 8 Pro. Thank you
Edit: Thanks @strongst
I confirm that it is possible to close the bootloader after flashing the Indonesian ROM on a Redmi Note 8 Pro Global. To do this, use the MiFlash application and check the "clean all" option. Do not check the option "clean everything and block" in case there is a problem during or after the fhashing.
After I could confirm the ROM was multilingual and that everything worked fine (wifi, data, bluetooth, nfc, spearkers, etc.), I closed the bootloader, put my device in "fastboot" mode and executed the command "fastboot oem lock ".
Before closing the bootloader I didn't see the Netflix application in the Google Play store, after closing the bootloader there was no problem.

They would really be the same steps for any Xiaomi team, so you just need to search the threads of some model. The only variant would be the ROM you need to download, which in this case It would be for the Redmi Note 8 Pro.

Glad it worked for you! :good:
You probably were on a Global flavor of the phone aside from it having a Global Rom.
However I want to stress for others who may be reading this, that if I am not mistaking, based on posts I have read, if your device HW is Chinese flavor, it is absolutely not recommended to relock bootloader after flashing anything as it WILL result into bricking your device.
Edit:
That's exactly what's being said on the tutorial you provided above and that's where I had read about it actually
Here is the part in question.
Edit 2:
DO NOT RE-Lock the Bootloader if you change from China ROM to Global ROM in China phone. Re-Locking will BRICK your phone. Select only "Clean All" option before flashing.

you have to lock in fastboot mode and make sure your MIUI version is the same as the device. for example your device base version is India and you have to flash it with the Indian version to lock the bootloader and make sure it's correct so it doesn't happen hard brick

Hi, this twrp work well with android 10, you can't decrypt data in first boot but return to encrypt data in the next boots... I don't really why....
Search in youtube: How to flash TWRP and ROOT Android 10 - REDMI NOTE 8
You have the link of TWRP 10 LR Team link (G drive)
EDIT: I have tried again and the decryption works perfectly, it was a problem with an application to modify the selinux, without installing, everything is perfect.
If automatically re-encrypts your data, the password is your phone pin.

Thank God and to you people..after one whole day of struggle... Successfully installed Android 10 update indonesian rom and rooted and twrp installed... i am happy now
I have been struggling all day long with getting my N8P rooted - ever since I decided to give Android 10 a try there is no option to get it done.. I tried everything - all TWRP versions I could find both official and unofficial.. MiFlash, Fastboot, ADB.
I tried also that method when you patch the file (boot.img) with Magisk mngr. I watched thatKonah the Begonia Guardian's famous video numerous times. I even "clean all and lock"ed my phone by accident at one point. No way it works with MIUI 11/Android 10. Android 9 - no problems. What's weird - the same version of twrp (I flash them with adb/fastboot) once works flawlessly, then I can't flash it at all - phone softbricked.. back and forth.. what the f?? I guess I need to wait for another root/twrp/Android 10 rom - unless you have any ideas??
Can you explain the steps you have followed?

I tried also that method when you patch the file (boot.img) with Magisk mngr. I watched thatKonah the Begonia Guardian's famous video numerous times. I even "clean all and lock"ed my phone by accident at one point. No way it works with MIUI 11/Android 10. Android 9 - no problems. What's weird - the same version of twrp (I flash them with adb/fastboot) once works flawlessly, then I can't flash it at all - phone softbricked.. back and forth.. what the f?? I guess I need to wait for another root/twrp/Android 10 rom - unless you have any ideas??

Is the ROM booting up or are you bootlooping?
It was bootlooping each time I tried to install Magisk via TWRP.
#Does anyone know Official Twrp available for Redmi Note 8 pro but problem is that how to install in rom ?
# Another thing is that Twrp not support Restore Rom
I means to say You can backup your stock Rom successfully but you cannot restore it's says Restore successfully but device not started (i personally tested it this time I'm using Unofficial Twrp but Same on official Twrp too ) Does Anyone Know how to solve it ?
