it is not possible to relock the bootloader, from Fastboot directly ... The device will be corrupted later. To relock the bootloader, use the restore tool which will return the phone to its factory configuration ... Under ROM 10.0.7 .. The bootloader will be relock ... and all the data on the phone will be erased. It's the only way.

I tried re-locking the bootloader using fastboot and it happened successfully.
I am on Beta 2. It got successful because i haven't modified my system. Also it did wipe all the data.

Not working Nexus 5X

I can't run Nexus 5X after flash stock firmware.
Phone restarts when is boot animation.
I have locked bootloader.
Please help
reboot to fastboot, use a computer with fastboot drivers and use the following commands...
fastboot format cache
fastboot format userdata
And NEVER uncheck that "allow unlocking" box

Thank You for answer but I can't do this because I have locked bootloader.
I tried to think of everything I have to give to repair.
Have you tried a factory reset from the stock recovery?

bootloader does not have to be unlocked for those commands.
Once you try the above suggestions, download the latest OTA and ADB sideload it. No unlocked bootloader required. The instructions on how to sideload are on the download page.

uhm, from what I remember from the Nexus 6 brick disaster due to locked bootloader + disabled OEM unlocking + fail OTA, people were claiming that they couldn't do those 2 commands either with a locked bootloader.

I haven't tested with the latest bootloaders, but I thought I recalled you couldn't do any write operations through the bootloader when it was locked.
Thank You
Thank you all for your answers, I will give tomorrow to repair. I will answer when I get it back and write what was the cause.
They gave me money for the phone, topic is closed.

It was fine for me. If you are still a bit nervous use the Xiaomi flash tool to flash a fastboot stock Rom and pick the flash and relock option in the bottom right http://en.miui.com/a-234.html

Phone stuck in encryption screen after bootloader relock

I recently tried to relock the bootloader. All was successful, phone restarted, went to encryption screen but when i provided the PIN, it says wrong PIN. Not sure if there is any default PIN as the phone is not accepting the PIN which I kept.
Also tried to do factory reset the data via recovery mode, but the phone doesnt enter into recovery mode.
What should I do to get back the phone to original state.

You will have to unlock bootloader, and flash TWRP. i TWRP format (not wipe, format. the option which requires you to type yes) your data partition. Then flash stock recovery and relock bootloader. I have had similar issue when flashing custom ROMs with encryption enabled

Are you using HTCdev website for bootloader unlocking?
You can wipe your data partition in the HTC recovery menu, no need for twrp I think
Flash RUU as it will format your data.

fastboot relock, locks device

Hello Guys,
i have a redmi 5a and i made a rollback on rom from 10 to 9.
i had to unlock the bootloader and install previous verson of miui.
i could done that succesfully.
but i also installed twrp and root.
now i want to relock bootloader but when i do it via adb
not just the bootloader locks but the whole device too
and the phone does not start.
then i go back to fastboot and unlock the device with miflash unlock
and it works again but the bootloader is still open
what did i do wrong?
It's possible to relocked your device after rooting but relock the bootloader means locking the mod of your device, you'll lose your root. And again, if you need to root your device, you need to open the bootloader.
U cant relock the bootloader with custom recovery coz phone it doesnt start and maybe hard brick.always relock bootloader with stock recovery.also consider relocking, because u maybe cant unlock again until unofficial way found

Did you do any modifications on your phone like root?
If so, you'll need to restore to stock either with fastboot ROM or MSM tool, the lock the bootloader.

how do i restore to stock? please help me
is it safe to just relock normally in fastboot via command prompt if ur on beta 2 one plus ?? Do i need any files to do it ? except adb etc...
If You did not messed with Rom it will be ok, but if You root it, first You need to go back to stock rom
Will the phone boot after relocking with a custom rom without root?
If You are full stock, stock rom, fastboot, all is stock, You should lock bootloader with no problem.

The problem is with rooted devices. If anyone have a full stock (without root) HD1905 and only the bootloader unlocked....just use again de adb program and write
FASTBOOT OEM LOCK and the problem with some app dispear and your phone run like factory as normal.
nice tips!

Got my HD1905, unlocked bootloader (no root etc. Only to be able to use TWRP, just in case) and installed my apps. Then I noticed the Netflix problem with unlocked bootloader. If I do a 'fastboot oem lock' now, I'm pretty sure it will do a factory reset, correct?
Thx, W
