New update broke 60 fps pro vídeo mode. - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Questions & Answers

Hi.
Here is just a compliant about the new Update.
Before the update if you select 2160p 60 fps in configuración and then you shoot in pro vídeo mode it used work but now pro vídeo is block to 30 fps.
Anyone with same problem?
Is there an app that alow to make 120 fps videos?

Wait, the recent update was what brought the pro mode to video, didn't it? Before it, there was no pro mode for video, so…

That was un the 04/09 update, and then i could shoot pro vídeo in 60 fps.
I got a new one the 05/14 that disables that option.
I hate this updates that take out features.

It didn't break it in mine. I have the Note 10+ 5G (Verizon)

Yes, that says there, but it only applies to normal video mode. If you record a video in professional mode it is saved at 30 fps.

Ok. Where did you change it on pro mode?

Nowhere. Before the update that toggle worked for all videos. Now the pro video is stick to 30 fps always.

I just tried it out and it still works for me at 60fps. Remember you have to manually set the frame rate to 1/60 just as you would in a real manual camera.
I updated yesterday.

I hate to burst your bubble. I recorded a short video in Pro Video with the above settings. I pulled up the metadata on my PC and it shows 60fps.

Yeah. You are correct. I had good lighting and auto set it to 1/125 I set it to 1/30 and got 30fps.

The shutter speed doesn't determine the framerate of the video. It's related to how long the shutter stays open to allow light to enter. Setting the shutter speed manually to 1/60 or 1/125 doesn't mean your videos are going to be 60fps or 125fps.

Well technically yes. The shutter will open (1/125) 125 times per second. It won't save the file at that frame rate unless in slow motion mode but the shutter speed is related to how many frames per second are being captured, leveraging this is how anti flicker works .
Drop the shutter speed below your target frame rate and the video will save at the lowest shutter speed achieved, directly relating to frame rate.
Video and photography aren't the same, but very relatable. Try it.

I'm a photographer. I know how shutter speed, ISO, and aperture work. I had a brain fart thats all; I forgot that a shooting video on a digital videio camera is slightly different than shooting video on a film movie camera.. On a film movie camera (depending on model), you could shoot at 60fps with a 1/30sec shutter speed. The results would be rather interesting.
At any rate, 60fps is the max frame rate for the Note 10+ (for now).

As I said previously. Samsung did not remove 4K 60fps from the pro camera. You enable it in settings and you have to set your shutter speed to 1/60sec or faster. If you leave it on auto, the camera will select the best shutter speed based on the current lighting conditions. If you are wanting to shoot slow motion or super slow motion, you will have to use those cameras. As far as I know, there are no 3rd party cameras that will allow you to shoot at 120fps.

480 FPS

Guys, look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9z9jiYmq_0
There is somewhere in the menu the option for 480 fps?
I've searched for it, but did not found it ...

It automatically sets FPS to 240, with no option to enhance it.
To answer OP, the Note 7 isnt capable of 480FPS, what you are seeing is a 240FPS video stretched to 480FPS, which is just doubling the time between frames, and not true 480FPS. He probably did this in a PC video editing program.
If anyone knows an android app that lets us stretch 240FPS videos, please let me know!

This is just to show that Le Pro3 camera has the potential to shine if (only if) you use the right app like Google Camera. For those saying Le Pro 3 camera is a trash, well too bad for you...

HDR is a must for any smarrtphone with tiny sensor or under-expose the scene and lift the shadows. Unfortunately, HDR is not available if you use Google Camera app on LP3.
I already filed a ticket on LeEco to give us control over noise reduction setting as it is the one killing LP3 shots resulting to soft and painterly effect esp. on low light/night shots.
Nexus 5X is definitely better but take a look at the ISO difference between it and LP3 with Google Camera app. (Hint it was much lower)

Strange that I am not getting this violet tint on any of my shots. I will do some testing again to see if I can replicate the issue. Are you using 2.7.010 of Google Camera app?
I used 3 versions; lastest for Android 6.0 witch one crash every change setting in cam, trouble with identifity cam and nearly black light level. 2nd from Le Store, witch as same as third for Android 4.4. i think the last one is this one. 2nd and 3rd had 'violet' trouble.
I tried NEXT time download from Le Store. Today sample was not violet, but still lower quality, like did on 2MPx's and a bit too light. Im boring, may my Le Photo works fine, better than your?

IQ is definitely better on Google Camera app. Le Eco Camera app is applying over-zealous noise reduction hence making the output soft and killing the detail.
My favorite cam app has been Open Camera for a long time, I'll give it a try. Especially now that I have CM13 running on it, which freaking rocks!:victory: Open camera has options for sharpness, image quality %, and even bitrate. Actually, bitrate in these example photos is probably one of the biggest differences. There's like 3mb difference per picture on the google and HDR shots. In my experience with video, bit rate makes a massive difference in sharpness/resolution and with less noise/blocking so I'm pretty sure the same applies to images.

Yep. Check out the 'buiding cyanogen' thread, somebody found a build of CM13 from a Chinese Le Pro site and hosted it on their Google drive. You have to be bootloader unlocked (can also do on 727 now). It's great, about 98% working as a daily. I've been on it since I posted that comment. No probs at all. There's a few really tiny things, just check the thread.

Note that photos with less detail will just have smaller file size not because of bitrate or bitrate-like functions. The concept of bitrate is not really relevant on pictures.
Though you can play with picture quality (JPEG compression) options, it does not have drastic effects like in video's bitrate unless it is implemented in crazy way. Bitrate restriction for video is there because video files can get very large. Pictures do not so there is no gatekeeper (limitation) to keep the file sizes down.

Ah, got it. Good to know if I bump up the quality setting, I won't be making them take up that much more space. I tried open camera (on CM now), but it doesn't have HDR, forgot to upload them. I haven't even looked at them yet! Hope they're good. I couldn't find the best subjects. Just a bunch of stuff in my kitchen to get some colors and details.
These are all with quality at 100% in open cam, default is 95 I believe. Some with flash, some without. Forgot to do a low light, but it's just a low watt LED bulb overhead in a real small apt kitchen.

60fps is just a number, the SOC in moto g4 plus is not capable of handling 1080p+60fps realtime, but yes it can handle lower resolution like 720p or 480p at 60fps;
the FPS counter that you are showing is just 1 frame of image is recorded twice i.e. repeated single frame. more like its 1080i then 1080p which user progressive scan rather then
Interlaced scan. to get this effect done your camera app increases the shutter speed lower the ISO that why we re getting that slightly greenish tint.

Is it working on oreo 8.1?
Is not actually "working" anywhere, just a fake.

5, 8, 15 etc shutter speed support?

Currently i only get 0.5 second shutter speed in 3rd party camera apps. Is there any mod to increase it?
Unfortunately, there doesn't exist any mod for such long shutter speeds as of now. But xda dev @kashyapshashankv made this possible on Redmi Note 4 by decompiling the libraries. Refer this link
This is also sensor specific- can't be ported from other devices easily. It is possible only if this dev or anyone else does the same to whyred. I'm very fond of purchasing this device but lack of full fledged pro camera features (including support for long exposure photography) is a bummer.
Let me know if any solutions are found for this issue.
Some people are working on it i think

It seems someone needs to figure out what to do with the libmmcamera_whyred_s5k2l7_ofilm_cn_i.so file to change the time limit.
Can't wait to see what @Ryan_OY and @FaXiR do.
Any progress in this regard?
Max shutter speed is 0,53 seconds (1/2 seconds in most camera app), even after enabling the C2A.
AFAIK, usually Samsung camera sensor doesn't support long exposure, only the sony one does. Any who have India version, please confirm this. But S5K2L1 in Galaxy S7 Edge, support shutter speed up to 10 seconds. While RN5 whyred global has the cousin, S5K2L7, I think it can at least achieve the same shutter speed.
The last resort is only fake long exposure, created by stacked image (almost similar to HDR processing method). Use ProShot, It can support infinity shutter speed, until you press the button again. But the resolution is limited, best it can take is 2752x2064 (4:3 5,7 MP), but quite choppy. I prefer just the FHD res, 1920x1080 (16:9 2,1 MP), very smooth and realtime viewfinder for the result.
This was created using green laser, about 10-12 seconds (i simply stop it after finish).

No root needed for the long exposure (light painting mode), but if you want to use the app to the fullest extent (manual mode), you have to root and enable C2A. For the complete thread, I have posted in the other forum, but in Indonesian language. Hope google translate helps.

Yup, enabled the C2A, but the maximum that I could achieve is only 1/2 a second. Some mods have to be made with the camera libraries, I suppose. The Mi 8/ SE too have Sony sensors, but come with a default 15s shutter speed in manual mode.

So it is the same then. Too bad, need to wait for the modded camera libraries then. Until then, ProShot will be the solution.

So it is possible to have it too. We need someone who understand how to reverse engineer the lib file from mi max 3 and port it to our RN5.

Are there any people working on this? Or all hopes have gone?

60fps or 50fps

I was searching for some mods for this phone (Samsung Galaxy a30s EU DISTRIBUTION) to get 50 or 60 fps video recording working. Ideally 1080p, but 720p is also fine. I didn't find anything working. I looked into the slow motion mode, and on the preview, I saw 720p60fps. So it must be possible to do it in normal speed. Any ideas? Thanks. PS: I was able to do it on my old 12MP redmi note 4, so it must be possible on this guy.
What do you mean 60fps ??? On video recording ????

I See that the normal camera from Samsung does 30fps at 1080p and 720p. I have tested a few apps that might support 60fps at 720p or 1080p. But no luck i have tried quite a few apps. Either the app stops working. Or it gives you a error that 60fps is not supported. I have tried 5 diffrent versions of Google Camera Modded. Open Camera ( This app says its not supported cause you can select at which fps to shoot at) and MX camera which also just allowed me to to shoot at 30fps only (Matter in fact it shot at 21 fps not 30fps)
Ok nvm I will just buy a GoPro
HedgeCam maxed out at 1440x1080 60fps. You can also change the bitrate but I haven't compared the quality yet.
Exact settings

Can you tell me your exact settings? I downloaded the official hedgecam 2 from the play store, set 1440x1080 and 60 fps, frame rate not supported. If I enabled camera api 2, it just records it on 30 fps. Can you tell me the exact settings of your cam? Thanks in advance.
