[TUTORIAL] Root SM-A105FN (tested) - Samsung Galaxy A10 Guides, News, & Discussion

It's my first post and my English isn't very good but I will try to do my best. If someone have problems tell me ^^.
IMPORTANT: NEVER TRANSFER IMPORTANT FILES USING MTP, USE ADB.
1. Download latest firmware using SamFirm and install it in your phone.
2. Extract from the AP the file "boot.img.lz4", transfer to your phone and extract it using ZArchiver. You will get a file "boot.img" .
3. Install Magisk Canary and patch "boot.img".
4. Transfer USING ADB the magisk_patched.img to your PC, rename to "boot.img" and compress it into a .tar called "boot.tar".
5. Unlock bootloader (there are so many tutorials in this forum, don't panic, it's very easy).
6. Untick Auto-Reboot in Odin and flash the "boot.tar", then reboot your device and, immediately, press Vol UP + Power to enter into recovery and erase all data (factory default).
7. Configure Android, install the Magisk Canary apk and let it do stuff. The phone will reboot and you have your phone rooted .
If reboot into recovery don't panic, just press reboot to system (it's normal).
DON'T USE REBOOT OPTION IN POWERMENU, YOU CAN LOSE ROOT, INSTEAD, USE POWER OFF AND THEN TURN ON THE PHONE.

Hi. I'm a newbie. I've got this new Samsung and it's first time rooting Samsung phones. I'm stuck at step 6. Odin says <ID:0/005> Can't open the specified file. (Line: 2006). What should I do? I mention I've put the "boot.tar" file into AP. Or how else should I flash with Odin?
EDIT: SOLVED! I had to run Odin as Administrator

[ROOT] SGH-I467 ATT Note 8

Hello, I can not post on the developer forums yet, so I will post what I can here.
I was able to get root access to my Samsung ATT Note 8 (SGH-i467). See attached image.
Thank you;

I will try to put together a complete how to when I can. For now I will link to the image files I created.
DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK! I DO NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR DEVICE NOT WORKING.
Here we go.
1. Download the i467 firmware from http://www.sammobile.com
1a. Extract the main zip file you downloaded. Leave the .tar.md5 files intact. They are the files you select with Odin in steps six (6) and nine (9).
2. Download Odin 3.07 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1738841
2a. Extract and launch Odin.
3. Download the pre-rooted I467UCAMF1 images from SAMSUNG-SGH-I467I467UCAMF1-ROOT.tar
3a. Do not extract or modify this file.
4. Do a factory reset of the device either in system settings or using recovery (volume up). Yes, I have found you must do this.
5. Boot into download mode. (Home + Volume Down + Power)
Step 6 is only required if you accepted the OTA "CAMF2".
6. Use Odin to flash all four files downloaded in step 1. BOOTLOADER, CODE, MODEM and CSC files.
6a. Let the device finish install and boot.
6b. Boot into download mode. (Home + Volume Down + Power)
This is the fun part.
7. Select PDA in Odin and select the file downloaded in step 3. Make sure all other files are not checked. Flash... Odin will say it failed. Yes, don't worry, recovery is still there.
8. Reboot into download mode (Home + Volume Down + Power)
9. Using Odin only flash the BOOTLOADER, MODEM, and CSC from step 1. Do not flash the CODE file or the modified image. In other words, leave PDA unchecked in Odin.
10. Let the device install and reboot.
You should now be able to run SuperSU.
If you want to update to OTA CAMF2 then follow these steps BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE;
Thanks to DanMc85 and others for testing. Also, usernamenotfound wrote instructions in the next post, thank you.
1. Start SuperSU and in the settings enable Survival mode.
2. Connect to a Wifi network. (Thanks aTt)
3. Go to system Settings and select About Device at the bottom of the list.
4. Select Software update on the right.
5. Go through the update process and the device will reboot. You should be at version CAMF2.
[EDIT]
Bootloader = BOOTLOADER...tar.md5
PDA = CODE...tar.md5 - Don't select this in step nine (9). Leave blank.
PHONE = MODEM...tar.md5
CSC = CSC...tar.md5
Thank you ZeroxCorbin, this method works flawlessly!
Thanks to DanMc85, crazymikey, & Danno5150 for the following:
If you are looking to update to MF2 after you root, make sure that you enable Survival Mode within SuperSU Pro and then perform the update BEFORE you remove any bloatware or make any changes to the file system, as changes in the system will cause the update to fail.
Remember to do a backup of any apks before removal as this will allow you to put them back in place in preparation for future updates. (MF3?)
Hope this helps mitigate some of the questions.
Thanks again guys!

Thank you very much
Everything went well and I was able to root after 2 months. Took a while, but thank yery much. I've missed Titanium Backup so much.
Instructions were very clear and concise. Was able to root in about 15 minutes with reboots and pushes. Worked perfectly following the instructions to upgrade to MF2

Thank you this worked perfectly; note I can use the device the way I want to.
Thanks I was worried I was gonna have to take this back! But it worked on secound tty and using Titanium Backup Pro I can fully integrate Root apps and updates into the stock system rom with no trouble! How do you install a TWRP Recovery for this model?

I am a little worried because I have it unlocked for international 3g sim. If I root it, will i have to unlock again?
Sorry about my dumb question

We can't flash any custom recoveries until the bootloader is unlocked
At least we have root.

I think that he's talking about SIM unlock maybe? If that's the case, I'm assuming that the way that this root was setup, you will probably need to re-unlock the SIM, but I'm not 100% sure.
So glad we finally have root! Won't do this until a bootloader is figured out though. But this is the first step! I wish I knew more on how to crack bootloaders to help out :/
So I know, does this method work with the OTA Update that AT&T put out in August?

Step six is just for you.
Only issue I had was forgot how picky Odin is about cables. Used a monoprice one and it Odin wouldn't see it. Used the stock cable and all was good.
Tablet is rooted and am in the process of debloating it.
Thanks very much for this. We all appreciate it.
Happy Note 8
Thanks thanks thanks. It worked like a charm!!! :good: I did have to find a shorter cable - wonder why my 10ft cable didn't work
I am unclear on the use of odin
I am unclear on these two parts:
Step 6 is only required if you accepted the OTA "CAMF2".
6. Use Odin to flash all four files downloaded in step 1. BOOTLOADER, CODE, MODEM and CSC files.
6a. Let the device finish install and boot.

I have not used Odin, how do you "flash" these files? It looks like you have to do them one at a time. I am just unclear how to flash the files.
Also, It looks like you are doing them twice if you have the CAMF2 update, which I do, is that the case?

I downloaded the factory firmware from sammobile (took over 2 hours)
but I think the csc file is corrupt. odin gives an error when I try to select it, and windows shows that the last modified date for the file is year 3247
I downloaded the zip again from sammobile and it's still the same.
Could anyone upload the csc file somewhere like dropbox??
Thanks
EDIT: When I tried to select the csc file I was getting the error "parameter is incorrect". Googling the error shows people saying to remove the ".md5" extension and retry.
When I did, it accepted it (although I didn't flash it yet). But I just wanted to make sure that I am not bypassing the checksum and flashing a corrupt file. Is that what you guys had to do as well, assuming it is still the same factory firmware on sammobile?
Thanks
Can i use that to repair my bricked Note ?

Android 9.0
Hello, when it will be possible ? If never, why ?
I followed the exact process but everytime i tried to boot into TWRP recovery immediately after the flashing, the device still boots into stock recovery instead of TWRP
Please help me with this
Thank you
I figured out a way to root the Galaxy J7 duo
Actually i have tried lot of ways to root using TWRP flash and all.. but one day i accidentally bricked my device
So i downloaded the stock ROM to flash my device
And i downloaded the 8.0 android ROM
So this root method basically tested on android 8.0
So now i have android 8.0 stock ROM downloaded
Step 1 -
So make sure you also downloaded the ROM
And extract the ROM file (you must have got the "AP" "CP" "BL" "CSC" and "HOME CSC" file)
Then copy the "AP" file in your phone
Then install magisk manager in your phone
Open magisk, select install, select and patch a file from magisk
Then select "AP" file
And wait while magisk is patching the "AP" file
When flashing is done the patched file will be saved on storage, emulated, 0, download (file will be saved as "magisk_patched.tar")
Then simply copy the patched file in your computer
Step 2 -
Open odin in your Computer
In odin, select "magisk_patched.tar" in "AP" section
Select "BL" from the stock ROM folder in the odin's "BL" section
Select "CP" from the stock ROM folder in the odin's "CP" section
Select "HOME CSC" from the stock ROM folder in the odin's "HOME CSC" section
make sure you select all the official files from the stock ROM folder... just instead of the "AP" file, select the "magisk_patched.tar"
Then connect your phone via USB cable
Odin will detect and show "added" message
Start the flashing process
It will take few minutes
When its done your phone will boot up
But it will show something like "erasing" and "verification unsuccessful"
Just agree with that and erase the phone
(It will cause a data loss because everything will be deleted and your phone will reset, so i suggest to make a backup using samsung smart switch)
Then when your phone will reboot, just follow the steps to setup
Amd install magisk latest apk
Open magisk and boom!
You can already realize that magisk root is activated
Amd magisk will ask you to "setup environment"
Just agree and your phone will reboot withing 5 seconds
And done!
Your phone is now rooted
Install root checker and verify your root status
how to un-brick
Same thing here,
Tell me how you un-bricked your phone
I bricked my phone by installing wrong twrp file to sm-j720f android pie with odin
and now it shows only bootloader screen and I can't even go to recovery mode or home screen just showing " SAMSUNG GALAXY J7 DUO secured by Knox powerd by android" noting else
That is exactly what was happened in my phone
So what i did just downloaded the Stock ROM for J7 duo from the sam mobile website.
Then extract the ROM and you will get few files ("AP", "BL", "CP", "CSC", "HOME CSC")
Then boot your phone into download mode using this method
(Connect the phone to your PC using USB cable, then press and hold Power + volume down + home, then when the "powered by android" logo appears release only the power button... so your phone will boot into download mode, press volume up to continue)
Now, in odin you can see "added" message that means device is connected
Now select the ROM files respectively, BL, AP, CP, CSC
Then click start, and the process will start, will take few minutes
When done, your phone will boot normally
Yeah everything is right until...
[grand_theft;83142325]That is exactly what was happened in my phone
***********
So what i did just downloaded the Stock ROM for J7 duo from the sam mobile website.
Then extract the ROM and you will get few files ("AP", "BL", "CP", "CSC", "HOME CSC") *********
Then boot your phone into download mode using this method
Fact that I cant even go to download mode I tried out many times
Just follow this step
(Connect your computer with your phone using USB cable, then press and hold Power + volume down + home, then when the phone vibrates and appears the samsung logo again just release only the power key, while holding the volume down and home key)
(Just release only the power key when the "powered by android" logo appears)
Thats how you can go to the download mode
No virtual change
Done it as u say,
But my mobile shows noting but just logo screen
*****SAMSUNG GALAXY J7 DUO secured by Knox powered by android*****
again and again
These is not first time, last I did the same mistake before and I went to Samsung service store they recovered it, I don't know how they did but it worked.
These time I want to (tring to) do it on my own bcoz I love playing with ROM's, root, etc.
Thanks for replys
I also did the same mistake by flashing wrong TWRP
But however i managed to enter into downlod mode following those steps
And flashed official ROM to unbrick the phone
You must go into download mode to flash the official ROM using odin
Thanks alot
Thanks man,
I'm able to enter download mode and I installed official ROM. Now in using it as normal but (1)Secure folder and Pay mini are not working.
(2)Do you have any idea on other ROMs that works on SM-J720F other than Samsung's one UI.
(3)can I install android 8 on it in ordered to root as you said it in previous post.
(4)from previous your post on oreo twrp explanation, is twrp works fine. What happens to twrp if I update phone to Q (from system updater)
I'm glad you made it!
Now,
1) Secure folder and pay mini won't work because the phone thinks you rooted your phone and maybe your binary is cracked (so forget using those)
2) I'm not sure about any ROMs which is stable with this model. But you can search the internet (I think pixel ROM is pretty popular)
3) I'm not sure if my process of rooting supports android 9.0 or not, because i personally tetsted it on 8.0, So you can download the oreo ROM from the internet and then follow all the steps i mentioned before
4) If you want to install TWRP, you can still install TWRP after rooting via the method i provided
(You can install TWRP using flashify on a rooted phone)
But if you want root access then you can simply root your phone first..
And whatever custom ROMs you want to install, install it using flashify
Because if you update software via official OTA, the root access and TWRP both will be gone
And if you root your phone, then however you won't be able to perform a official OTA update.
(First root your phone, then simply download your TWRP file and flash it with root permission within your phone)
Instated of Oreo AP file,

(It will cause a data loss because everything will be deleted and your phone will reset, so i suggest to make a backup using samsung smart switch)
Then when your phone will reboot, just follow the steps to setup
Amd install magisk latest apk
Open magisk and boom!
You can already realize that magisk root is activated
Amd magisk will ask you to "setup environment"
Just agree and your phone will reboot withing 5 seconds
And done!
Your phone is now rooted
Install root checker and verify your root status

Ok I agree with you,
But what if I replace Oreo's AP file with android 10's AP file(which I installed recently on my phone), will it boot with root or not.
************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
I have not tested this method on any other android version, you can still try it on your own, there is nothing to lose, just make a backup before flashing. If you succeed then that's great
But i have personally tested this method only on android 8.0
(Before doing anything, just make a proper backup using samsung smart switch. So you can restore your important data)
Success
Replaced with android 10's AP file and flashed with Odin. Now my phone has rooted with Magisk manager.
Any suggestions to tweak android

Have you ever got the answer or figured it out? I've got the same model and I cannot find anything on the net to help me with rooting this phone.

Guide how to root Samsung Galaxy A30S

Could not find a single post or website that correctly explained how to root my Samsung Galaxy A30S that I bought May 2020.
In the end I got it rooted. Here is what I did (I think have to go from memory, not going to restore my phone and try again, was in Knox jail for a week, so not risking that again).
step 0:
download Samsung kies and install
download and install Frija the Samsung Firmware download tool
download adb platform tools and install. Not strictly necessary I think but can be useful and easy way to boot into bootloader if things go wrong.
step 1:
When your phone is new:
update (or wait that the phone updates) to the latest android version
This may take a while an repeated reboots.
step 2
unlock the bootloader :
1. go to Setting>About>Software>Build Number and Tap on the build number repeatedly so that the Developer mode will turn on.
2. In the developer options, there is an OEM unlock option then enable that option.
Now Enter Download Mode Galaxy A30s:
1 Turn Power off the phone
2 Press and hold Volume Down + Volume Up keys together
3 While pressing these keys connecting the phone to PC with USB Cable Data.
4 Release all keys when Download Mode appears.
follow the instruction (ie keep the volume up button pressed for over 7 seconds)
step 3:
use the Frija tool to download samsung galaxy 30s latest firmware, the same one that is also installed on your phone
Once you’ve downloaded the stock firmware file based on your device model number, you can extract the boot.img.lz4 file to patch it via the Magisk Manager app. You do this as follows:
Step 4
Copy only the boot.img.lz4 file from the extracted AP folder to your device storage.
Install 7-Zip-Zstandard or use a windows lz4 command line tool to unpack boot.img.lz4 to boot.img
Download and install the latest Magisk Manager app and install on your phone.
Transfer the boot.img file to an SD card so Magisk can access it (or connect your phone and use file transfer)
Next, open the Magisk Manager app and select Install and choose to Install it again.
Then tap on “Patch Boot Image File”.
Go to internal storage and select your device boot image that you moved to your phone earlier.
Now, wait for Magisk to start patching the boot image.
Once the boot image has been patched, copy the “patched_boot.img” from the internal storage and put it somewhere on your PC.
Next repack it to boot.img.lz4 using 7z or lz4 and then do it again but now pack it boot.img.lz4.tar so ODIN can write it.
step 4:
Make sure that OEM unlock is still off!
Enter Download Mode Galaxy A30s and go to download mode.
Make sure it says FRP lock and OEM lock are off.
Otherwise the ODIN write will fail and OEM/knox protection will kick in during ODIN write and it will fail.
And then you have to wait a week until OEM unlock option in developers option becomes available again.
download latest ODIN version.
Select in ODIN 'AP' and select boot.img.lz4.tar and then write it.
That should work and reboot your phone.
step 5:
you may have to install magisk on your phone again.
Start magisk and make sure magisk and magisk manager are up to date.
use the menu in the upper left corner, choose modules and install busy box.
Now install terminux on your phone and use the su command to see if you can become root.
If you type 'su' in terminux magisk window should pop up and ask if you want to grant superuser access to terminux.

Need help rooting Samsung Galaxy A11 5F

Hello,
I am sorry if this is annoying in any way. I have spent the whole day trying to figure out how to root my Samsung Galaxy A11 and already wiped it twice.
There is not TWRP custom recovery available for it. To my understanding so far, I need TWRP if I want to install custom ROMs. I really do not care about installing custom ROMs. I have been trying to figure out how to root using the stock ROM.
Everywhere I look it says that I need to patch the stock ROM before flashing it by patching the boot.img file in the stock ROM download. I have downloaded several GBs of ROMs over a very slow connection and none of them has the boot.img file. I have the tar.md5 files (AP, BL, CP, CSC) but not boot.img. How do I proceed in this situation?
My phone model: SM-A115F/DS
Baseband version: A115FXXU1ATG1
Country: Egypt
Any help will be much appreciated.

I have managed to find this saviour.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79106875&postcount=6
I downloaded a random J6 firmware in another site.
You have to use 7zip software, it's free, much better than WinRar and supports tons of compression formats. Do these steps with 7zip:
-Unpack zip file.
-Rename the "*.tar.md5" to "*.tar".
-Open the ".tar" file and unpack "boot.img.lz4".
-Unpack "boot.img.lz4" file.
-It's done, you now have the "boot.img" file you were looking for

Just one thing to point out, 7zip did not work properly to extract the boot.img from boot.img.lz4. I used the solution in this answer. https://superuser.com/a/1533657
Now, let's see if I can patch the boot.img

Hey there. I'm searchin' for TWRP for my A11 and no use.No one compile it and nobody can't write full f*****' guide how to build TWRP without any config file (or how to create 'em for building from 0). But honestly I'm not about TWRP.
Why do we need TWRP for Android 10!?
A: Samsung lock phones /system partition to Read-Only state. You can get root but you can't mount your partition as Read-Write, make changes in it. It's only waste of time.
How can I install ROOT for my samsung A**?
A: Very simple. I suggest you using Magisk Manager for it!
What do I need and what do I must do?
A:
1. You need unlock the bootloader of your phone (data will be lost).
2. You need original USB cable (from box of phone).
3. Yon need last firmware to your phone. (I'm using SamFirm or Frija)
4. Windows 7 or higher.
5. 7-Zip
6. Odin
How:
Stage I: Bootloader.
0. Remove all Google and Samsung Accounts
1. Make data backup (for recoverying)
2. Go to Settings -> Developer Options -> ADB Debug (set Enabled) (Search in web how to get Developer options Settings menu)
3. Go to Settings -> Developer Options -> OEM Unlock (set Enabled)
4. Turm off Phone and wait for 10 seconds.
5. Plug USB of Phone to your PC BUT PHON MYST BE UNPLUGGED!
6. Push and hold buttons: VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN and plug USB from PC to your Phone and still hold buttons!
7. When phon will be realy you'll see a light blue screen that ask you: Shall I unlock bootloader (Long press Volume UP), Shall I enter in download mode (short 'click' Volume Up) or I must turn off (Hold Volude Down)
8. Press and Hold VOLUME UP
9. On screen you'll se the message you'll unlock your bootloader... To hell Press POWER BUTTON.
10. Phone goes to reboot and start WIPING PROCESS!
11. That it. You unlocked bootloader. But will you install ROOT?
If so:
12. Make first setup of your phone but don't set google account and etc. Just make it working.
13. Go to Settings -> Developer Options -> ADB Debug (set Enabled)
14. Validate that's you've done everything right: Find OEM Unlock if toogle is gray and not responging to your actions then you've done right!
15. No download firware to your PC.
16. After you had downloaded firmware for your phone you'll fave few files you need file with prefix "AP_" open it with 7-Zip.
17. Get from it file: "boot.img.lz4" and put to some location at your PC.
18. Pack your "boot.img.lz4" with 7-Zip to "boot.img.lz4.tar" (YOU MUST USE *.TAR ARCHIVE TYPE)
19. Install Magisk Manager to your phone and put your archive "boot.img.lz4.tar" to location: Internal Memory/Download
20. Connect to WiFi and run Magisk Manager.
21. Make Kernel Patch with Magisk: Select: "Install Magisk" -> "Patch boot image" -> in file picker navigate and select "boot.img.lz4.tar"
22. (Magisk will do everything)
23. When it's done in folder "Internal Memory/Download" will be magisk_patched.tar copy it to your Windows.
24. (On PC) Run Odin as Administrator. And in tab "Options" unselect checkbox "Auto Reboot"
25. Turn off your phone and wait for 10 seconds, then Press and hold VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN and plug in your USB from PC to phone.
26. Phone will ask you what do need to do, just click VOLUME UP and you enter into Download mode
27. Odin must show you COM number.
28. Select as AP file "magisk_patched.tar" and press Start.
29. If you see PASS! in Odin - You've done! If ERR! then you failed to unlock the bootloader!
30. Now turn of fyour phone and enter into Recovery Mode (on turned off phone hold POWER + VOLUME UP)
30.a. If you failed to enter try in with ADB command: 'adb reboot recovery' (no quotes)
31. In Recovery Mode Make: Factory reset + Clear Cash partition.
32. Power on your phone. Again make FULL PHONE SETUP an reinstall Magisk Manager
33. PROFIT!

Before you move further, make clear that rooting device -
- Your warranty will be void
- Some of functions may not work on rooted device, some function may get back with unrooting, some functions may never.
- All your data on device will be lost (Factory Reset is in the Instructions below)
- Flashing custom binaries may brick (Usually it's a soft but can be hard brick too), so follow it on your own risk!
Now that you accept the risks, let's have some fun -
Important: Although this is a simple guide you must follow all directions clearly
Simple guide to root your device and install TWRP after unlock: (Thanks to @Krog18 )
1. Download vbmeta_disabled.tar, TWRP for your device, magisk and multidisabler-samsung-2.6-afaneh92
2. Reboot to download mode and flash vbmeta_disabled.tar in ap slot and reboot. Device will reboot to recovery mode prompting you to wipe data so wipe data and reboot to download mode again.
3. Uncheck auto reboot in Odin and flash TWRP in ap slot.
4. Hold volume down and power until the screen goes black then immediately switch to holding volume up, Bixby button (10 series only) and power to reboot into TWRP
5. Flash multidisabler and reboot recovery
6. Go to wipe, format and type yes to format data
7. Flash magisk
8. Make a backup of efs and store it somewhere safe
9. Reboot
*First boot may take 10-15 minutes. If it doesn't boot in 15 minutes, force reboot by holding power and volume down for at least 10 seconds
Additional Method For Rooting If Above method did not work for you:
Step 1 : (Root Base Firmware with Magisk By patching files yourself, Then Flash TWRP in Odin)
Prepare Firmware files for root
You need to Patch AP File to flash using Odin to root device.
1. Download stock firmware for your device ie (SM-N975U/U1, SM-G973U/U1, SM-G975U/U1)
You need to download file according your region and model.
2. Once you finish download, extract files and keep all files on in a folder on the desktop of PC. From extracted files find the file with name AP_[device_model_sw_ver].tar.md5 copy to your Phone.
3.Download Latest Magisk Manager and Install to your device (Make sure to check for updates) (Optionally go into settings and switch the update channel to BETA)
4.Open Magisk Manager - Find Magisk Install (Top One) - Click Install - select to "Select and Patch file" - Click the AP file you have copied to your device (AP_[device_model_sw_ver].tar.md5)
5.Magisk Manager will patch the entire firmware file and output the newly Patched AP file to [Internal Storage]/Download/magisk_patched.tar
6.Now Copy patched AP file magisk_patched.tar back to Your PC
7.Download latest Odin and extract to Desktop on your PC
Step 2. Installing custom firmware files with Odin
1. Reboot to download mode and select volume up to continue:
2. Open Odin (as administrator) {Right-Mouse click--Open As Administrator}
Select AP in Odin and use the magisk_patched.tar file you have patched {The file you just patched with Magisk} for AP tab of Odin
Select BL,CP and CSC files (Use the files from the firmware you downloaded earlier) (This is VERY important, DON'T just flash only the magisk_patched.tar)
(Use All of the respective files BL, CP, CSC)
3.From Odin option - uncheck Auto Reboot option (I do this because I like rebooting when I'm ready)
4. Make sure all files are in the right place, Now Hit Start and wait till it's completely finish. When It shows PASS in Odin, disconnect device.
Okay Now the hard part is over, you can let the phone boot to system and Skip all Setup Steps because Next is TWRP.
Step 3. Odin: Flash Twrp and Boot with Magisk
Very Simple yet very Important:
1. Download the respective TWRP (Twrp<version_number>.TAR for you phone model (This is going to Odin flashed so you need .TAR file)
2. Reboot your phone into Download Mode, Hold Vol- and Power Button until it gets to DL Screen and press up for "Yes"
3. Put the Twrp<version_number>.TAR in the AP slot
4. Make sure the file is selected, (Unselect Auto-reboot in options tab in Odin) and in place and hit Start
5. Wait until it's finished, Now Hold Vol- and Power until you see black screen, release and then hold Vol+ and Power until you see TWRP recovery
Now Flash Multidisabler and Magisk
1. Flash multidisabler (Mega) (Google Drive) and reboot back to TWRP
2. Wipe data and storage
3. Flash Latest Magisk
*Enjoy
*** Remember: Make a backup of EFS through TWRP and save it to your desktop or Cloud service ie. MEGA, GDrive, Dropbox ****

Maybe should include that US Snapdragon will have to get their bootloader unlocked first and how they do..include Telegram. Or your probably going to constantly get the "I can't find OEM unlock" question.

I've been on Nexus and Pixel devices so long now I cannot remember much about modification on Samsung devices. Last one I had rooted was the Note 2. Anyway, bootloader unlocked and successfully rooted my SM-N975U (Note 10+). Now there are updates available so I am sorry if this isn't the place or if a dumb question, but is there any special way I need to do updates on the snapdragon so I don't relock the bootloader or lose root? With Pixel, ADB sideload was easy, not sure with this one.

I think this happens when you don't wipe your data. You also need to flash a decryption file. It happened to me at first because I didn't wipe all data.[/QUOTE]

which TWRP version to flash and which odin? hope i can get answer i had N975U1 unlocked bootloader
Anyone else getting that pesky "Android 11 Update" since they have rooted? I keep postponing it. I'm guessing it will fail if I try to install. Not sure what I should do.

2. Open Odin (as administrator) {Right-Mouse click--Open As Administrator}
Click to collapse
it works on my N975U1 android 10 Q version 1st method so no need 2nd method
