Is it safe to try another boot.img without deleting an existing one on your phone?

I think its because you don't have enabled Magisk Hide from Magisk settings..please inform if that's not a solution

Hi,
Im trying to flash the patched 11BA img but I got stuck at boot animation.
Flashing again the stock image works fine.
Any suggestions? I Patched the image using magisk itself.
Regards,

Hi guys
Can any one provide 10.3.3 (India) stock or patched boot img
I can't find it at all

Yesterday I just received my new "OP7T Global ROM - HD1900".
Unbox it and played for a few hours with the build in version of Oxygen OS (HD65AA) with the latest update downloading in the background.
After a few hours I decided to try and root the device and instal Adaway so I unlocked the bootloader and flashed this boot image.
Everything went well but if I remember correctly there was a Weather App and a Recorder App in the out of the box pre-installed Oxygen OS and now after I flashted the root image with Magisk patched there are nowhere to be found. Is this root patched image suited for the global ROM or there is for the European ROM? Did the flashing of the patched image removed the two apps or the latest update doesn't include them?

here the same no SIM. anyone a new magisk boot.img European Version ??????

I thing this patched boot image is for the Global ROM Oxygen OS 10.0.11 HD65AA Phone model HD1900.
What version of the phone do you own?
You can always flash back the original boot image the same way you flashed the patched image.
(Although I have the global model, I wanted to test the European ROM and rooted with this patched boot image. I had problems with SIM recognition and lag. So I wipe everything and flashed back the Global ROM)

First of all you have to clarify what version of the phone do you have, European or Global.
Next step should be to find the stock boot.img for your ROM and then flash it with fastboot commands the same way you flasthed the Magisk patched boot.img

OK, if you bought the phone form official Oneplus store then you defensively have the European version.
The stock boot image is inside the Fastboot ROM zip. You can download the hole file from the following link
https://sourceforge.net/projects/fastbootroms/files/OnePlus 7T/
Assuming that you were on the latest update, you want to download the file 10.0.11-EUROPE-OnePlus7TOxygen
When you downloaded, unzip it and look for a file named "boot.img" that is your stock boot image. You can flash it the same way you flashed the Magisk Patched boot.img. Then the phone should boot with no problems.

I contacted OnePlus support and they said they will send me some files and then arrange a remote session to flash a new OS to my phone. If that does not work, I will try your method.

HK HTC10 Returning to stock rom

Hi there, I'm using Hong Kong version of htc10, i tried to root it but when i flashed supersu and xposed arm64 sdk23, it comes to stuck in the system ui interface showing that: 'System UI has stopped unexpectedly....etc.' Looping in that point. So i tried wipe all data in twrp mode and reboot again, still the same situation. Then I download a TW version of stock IMG which is 1.30.708.1(Original was 1.53.708.4) and flashed it in download mode, after that i rebooted it, everything is normal again. Fresh new welcome screen.
But there are some features that i can't use such as can't receive 4G+ signal, can't receive VoLTE, even could't use battery saving mode ....etc.
So I just want to know where can I find the STOCK IMG for my HK version CID HTC__622, which is 1.53.708.4 or so called RUU for it? Thanks.:crying::crying:

I've found a twrp backup posted from someone else:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/stock-stock-collection-recovery-ruu-ota-t3359297/post67760253#post67760253
the working link for the download is on the next page.
this is definitely the HK rom as after a wipe the default language is HK Chinese.
only problem is OTA does not work and when trying to manually flash the OTA manually (using TWRP and stock recovery) the check on the OTA zip passes but the system check fails so it looks like system has been modified.

Sorry to bother you again, I put the 2PS6IMG in the external card, but it show an error message:" FAIL19 RU_MAIN_VER_FAIL os-version in android-info missing."
Maybe the IMG version that i downloaded us higher than my phone currently running? I'm running 1.53.XXX now.
Well, nevermind, I S-OFFed my htc10 and flashed the zip, now I'm using stock firmware and able to receive OTA, Thanks a lot man! You are my HERO!!

Looking for NPPS25.137-93-14 fastboot firmware

Could somebody provide full untouched fastboot firmware with build number NPPS25.137-93-14 for DualSIM Moto G5 (XT1676) with reteu software channel and 3GB RAM/16GB ROM, please? Thanks in advance.

I have been looking for it during several weeks too, no success until now. I found 137-92-14, which is built for other software channels. It works well in my XT1685 (Dual sim 3GB/32GB reteu).
Still looking for 137-93-14... Regards.

You can flash older recovery without bricking the phone. However, don't do that if you are running CustomROM. In my case, when I wanted to revert to fully updated stock, I flashed NPPS25.137-93-8 firmware without gpt, bootloader (that's what would brick the phone if flashed) and erase modem commands, updated it to NPPS25.137-93-12, then to NPPS25.137-93-14 using stock recovery and these files https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1BkpfHvgQ477NViLYvzgv88Fgq3SSt5Py. No issues at all and my phone (XT1676, 3/16, DualSIM, reteu) is still working fine.
In the attachment, I'll put recovery.zip (with recovery.img inside of it) of the NPPS25.137-93-8. Use at your own risk, if you are interested.

Thanks.
But thing is: I'm currently on NPPS25.137-93-12 with TWRP and Magisk. As a proof of concept I want to go to *-14 via OTA to see if it is possible... And if so: to make the oreo jump when available for my channel (XT1671, 2 sim, retla). I want to avoid losing all my data or any long task that would keep me offline for a long time... Daily driver both work and personal...
Uninstalling Magisk reverts boot.img to stock.... but I still need the stock recovery.img to be in 100% stock state (but unlocked). That's the theory.
Tried yesterday using other recovery.img versions, but failed: /cache/recovery/last_log shows the Blur* OTA file updater-script explicitly checks recovery version to be either source or destination versions... So *-12 or *-14.
After that, updater-script checks boot, system and oem. Those are (will be, supposedly) stock since Magisk only patches boot.img and I'll uninstall it .... should work...
The longer path of flashing other version and do the OTAs is also possible... But I'd have to be on vacation or something...
Thanks again.

Try one more time with file in the attachment of this reply. Although you will get "Image signed with key bad key" (because it's simply extracted from NPPS25.137-93-14), it should flash just fine. In my case, I've tried to flash it with fully updated phone to NPPS25.137-93-14, no issues at all. However, you should be more careful if you are running .12 firmware - this is stock and newer recovery (recovery of .14 firmware). .
Okay, so there are already 2 files in the attachment, first one contains recovery.img of .12 firmware, second one of the .14 firmware. You can recognize them by name of the file. With each of them, you will still get "Image signed with key bad key" message when flashing, but they flash just fine and everything seems to be working flawlessly on my phone with coresponding firmware version (means .12 recovery for .12 firmware, .14 recovery for .14 firmware). Once again, you are doing it at your own risk if you decide to.

Thanks. I'll test tonight.
"Bad key" is no problem... Got it twice already by testing with other versions I was able to get.
As for it being from *-14, it should work if I believe the updater script checking for either *-12 recovery (source) or *-14 recovery (target)... We'll see.

Yes, I rooted my phone by Magisk and used app called Flashify to backup recovery. However, to root, I didn't install TWRP permanently by "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" command, I just booted into it by "fastboot boot twrp.img", so I was able to root my phone and keep stock recovery installed.

Update: tested.
good: Recovery image -12 worked without issue and updater-script check passed.
bad: it failed while validating boot.img.
Apparently, Magisk uninstall did not restore the boot partition to stock. I also had a TWRP backup from when I had just unlocked. Restored boot. No luck. Maybe I took the backup *after* rooting.
well... I guess I will have to wait until I have some free time to do the long way: full flash
EDIT: @Andrej_SK: would you by any chance have the boot.img of *-12 too?
thanks!!

Thanks a lot. This tool won't work if you have lost your IMEI, but it allows you to download the latest firmware (in my case 137-93-14). Using this full stock firmware I have been able to recover the IMEI following the steps explained in other topic in this forum.
Regards.

10.0.5 boot.img?

Hey all! I'm trying to root my OnePlus 7t but I'm on 10.0.5 stock and I can't find a patched boot.img, or even a stock one to patch in Magisk. I'm on the global variant. If someone could point me in the right direction, that would be grand. I have already read mostly all the posts...
I have the US version which I think is also the global version. Here's my patched boot.img for 10.0.5
https://drive.google.com/file/d/12tZN5D7dmovIeqsx8sTF-B0z2gxA6LG8/view?usp=sharing
Here's the stock boot for 10.0.5 as well if you screw something up.

Don't ask why the file sizes are so different. It just gets smaller for some reason after patching it in magisk.
I just booted with an older one and flashed the latest magisk

Do I only need to flash the patched img or both ?
And do they need to be flashed to both A and B slots ?
Thanks for sharing

I would try fastboot boot before you use fastboot flash just to make sure that the device will boot successfully with the images. You should only need to fastboot boot magisk_patched.img, then open Magisk Manager and install Magisk by choosing the direct install option in the list. You only need the steps I mentioned to have root, and if you flash it to A and B at once you can get stuck in a bootloop. I had that happen at one point from flashing both partitions, and I dont recommend trying it.

Ya, I tried every relevant boot image I could find in the forums, and the device didnt work properly with any of them. The only one that allowed the device to boot successfully caused the wifi and sounds to not work. So I downloaded the full update from OnePlus and extracted it to a folder, then used payload dumper to extract all of the individual images out of the payload.bin file from OnePlus. I copied the boot.img into the phone storage and installed Magisk Manager, then patched the stock boot.img and copied it from the phone to my pc. Then I used fastboot boot magisk_patched.img to make sure the image I made would work. I booted the device and inside Magisk Manager I chose direct install in the list of options and everything went smoothly, and I didnt need to rely on finding images online that would hopefully work.

Thanks a bunch for the share. That was the missing piece that I've been looking for. I have the HD1905 variant and I just used Magisk to patch the stock file you provided. After testing, I'm finally rooted. Thanks again.

Stuck on bootloop while updating to Android 10
How did you update your phone while keeping magisk? I tried updating via OTA, did not restart and then flashed Magisk 7.5.3 on inactive slot and then rebooted my phone. Now it is stuck on bootloop.
Even the TWRP is gone but the stock recovery shows that the update is installed.
Do you know any way as to how I can fix this?
I have unlocked bootloader so im not using OTA, just downloading updates from Asus site, after update and phone restart you lose magisk, you have to install magisk manager APK, then via fast_boot install patched boot.img.
That's why i uploaded patched boot.img for 17...., u always have to repeat it after updating.
Right now just flash stock ROM

Then i went to magisk and installed the magisk to inactive slot and then went onto reboot my device but now i am stuck on a bootloop.
Today only i updated to A10. Can some tell me how to root and install magisk? I will really appreciate your support.

Installing the stock boot image helped me boot my device, but installing magisk causes a bootloop everytime and even if i try to flash twrp, the phone boots only into twrp and not the system.
Also tried using your patched boot image and tried patching a boot image myself from the magisk manager app but still causes bootloop.

If u are using TWRP just download magisk 20.3.zip file and flash it with twrp. Don't use patched boot.img.

Fresh boot.img for version WW-17.0230.2004.60
I followed this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ro...-check-change-fingerprint-cn-to-t4002279/amp/
And then i did the update to WW-17.0230.2004.60 and lost root.
How I can root again?
Thank you for share!

Magisk patched boot.img for OOS 10.0.14 (EU & intl. | HD65BA & HD65AA)

Hi everyone,
so I intended to root my OnePlus 7T HD1903 updated to OOS 10.0.14 via Magisk. Unlocked the bootloader and followed this guide to gain root access. Except it doesn't mention the need to use a boot image that exactly matches the phones OS version. Thinking I should just use the latest boot_10.0.7HD65AA_magisk_patched_op7t.img, I flashed it using fastboot flash boot filename.img. And my phone does actually still boot up but the wifi can no longer be turned on, which also means that I can't install Magisk.
Could a kind soul please, please, please send me the correctly patched boot.img for HD1903 (=HD65BA) running OOS 10.0.14? Or is there any other way to fix my phones wifi?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Afaik the latest oos version released for OnePlus 7T is 10.0.13 !
No, OOS version 10.0.14 is installed and you can't downgrade for some reason:
you can pull the boot.img from the update file of 10.0.14 by dropping the update on your pc and unpacking the payload.bin with the payload dumper, and then patching the boot.img with the magisk manager, then Flash or boot the patched boot.img on the oneplus

Yes, however I was unable to find a way to get the update file on my pc, as its size exceeds my mobile data per month, the wifi on my phone can't be activated and oxygen updater doesn't provide a direct download link, which I could open on my pc. That's the deadlock I am trying to get out of...
can someone post a link for downloading 10.0.14?

Thank you very much tchleb! I was about to post, that I was able to download the 10.0.14.HD65BA zip-file via a friends phone (not even OnePlus!). The patch worked as intended and my phone is rooted with working wifi, yay!
Therefore I can add the working boot.img and magisk_patched.img for OOS 10.0.14.HD65BA (EU-version)

Anyone got the patched 10.0.14 for the HD65AA (US version)? I can't unpack the payload and make my own just now.
Never mind, I took the update without rebooting and installed Magisk directly before rebooting.
Worked like a charm.

I'm not aware of a special US version, afaik the US just uses the international version, which is HD65AA. Here are the files:
OOS 10.0.14.HD65AA international firmware (OnePlus7TOxygen_14.O.20_OTA_020_all_2010111858_ae4ef99dc6eeb4.zip)
