Help Needed - Restore Amazon app store - Fire TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
So I thought I was being smart and tried to install the fireos app store to try skygo on my fire stick 4k.. also stupidly installed on my fire tv (the old box one) as I was using apps2fire and had the wrong ip set!
The problem I've got now is I can't open any apps or the app menu. And to make it worse the app store I installed doesn't work either!!
Could anyone extract the FireTV version so I can reinstall it properly?
If that doesn't work, does anyone know how I can restore without having to reinstall and setup all my apps?
Cheers

Ok after a lot of troubleshooting I've managed to solve this.
For anyone who might ever manage to end up making the same stupid mistake.. I installed ES file explorer on my phone, pushed it to the fire stick (Amazon appstore version wouldn't open with busted app store). Navigate to system apps and find com.amazon.venezia, that's the appstore. Delete it!
Once I removed it, it was magically replaced with the normal one and all is good.

Rooted kindle not detecting books

Hey guys,
I successfully rooted my Kindle Fire 6.3 and it was running fine. After few days I got a notification of available update for Kindle app and I updated it.
Now, I am not able to see any books in the books section of KF. I think KF is still rooted as I am able to install new apps from google play and they are running fine.
I can open the e-book files present in the books section, if I browse through a file browser and use other e-book software like Aldiko. But I am not able to see any of them in the books section.
Please Help!!
Thanks a lot!
The Kindle app that is available in Google Play is not the same as the Kindle reader that is incorporated in the Fire. If you update using the version on Play you lose functionality, as you discovered.
To fix it you need to go back into Play, to the Kindle app and uninstall it. After you tap uninstall it will give you the option to just uninstall the update, select that and you should regain full functionality. You should never update any of the Amazon apps that came built into the Fire through Play (mp3 player, video player). I also found out that updating Pulse through Play can mess things up.

Aldiko only supports epub format books. The kindle app uses prc and mobi.
I had the exact same problem. Solved it by moving the files (using File Explorer) from
/mnt/sdcard/documents/ to
/mnt/sdcard/kindle/
All the books showed up though I think it forgot what page I was on.
If that doesn't do it, copy and paste the files to both directories.
Third party books go in your "kindle" folder. Books downloaded from Amazon are installed to your "Android/data/com.amazon.kindle/files" folder. They can be renamed and put back in the "kindle" folder so you won't lose them every time you install a new rom or de-register the app.
THANK YOU CreeDO

Just went through the process of rooting my KF and after being joyous over finally having access to Google Play, I realized that I couldn't see my eBooks anymore. Your tip worked great.
My question: When I purchase books from a 3rd party provider that have the option to send books to my kindle, do I use the original KF send to email or the send to email address assigned to the Kindle App?
This was exactly my experience. I inadvertently checked the 'Auto update' box and my books went missing. De-installing the update from Play put the book reader back the way it was. Thanks!

[Q] Rooted Kindle Fire 8.9 installs Go Launcher but won't run

I just successfully Rooted and installed Google Play Store on my Kinde Fire HD 8.9 device and have the Play store is running with no problem. The one big problem I'm having is getting any Go Launcher to run after it successfully installs on my Kindle. It installs it fine and says it has done so successfully. But it does not give me any option to open it or launch it. Like it's being blocked or something. Has anybody else run across this issue with the 8.9 Kindle? If so, what have you don to get it to work? Is there some file or folder permissions that I need to change?
P.S. I even tried installing ADW Launcher EX, Holo Launcher, and teh Next Launcher and all of them with the same problem. And the funny part is that it lets me download, install and run any other game or app from the Play store except the launchers. Go figure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Michael
You have to make the app a system app for it to work, if u want to do it manually u copy the apk from /data/app to /system/app and fix its permissions. Set the permissions so user, group, and other can read, and only user can write. If you don't fix permissions right you will get stuck in a boot loop upon rebooting. Its suggested you run my wallpaper fix before installing the launcher to the system folder if you are on 8.4.1 or higher, or it might not have enough space to work with. Current version might give this error anyway though. This wallpaper fix basically re enables wallpaper, because amazon disabled it, and you will have a black screen after getting a alternate launcher working.

Rooted successfully, have play store app but won't open...help

I properly rooted my Kindle fire HD. I then tried to install the play store app. I went to about 5 or 6 different website with similar but different instructions how to get the play store app working. For the life of me I can't get it to work. I have all the files installed and it shows the play store app on the device but when I click on it nothing happens. It will let me install the program but when I click open it does nothing. I've restarted it, tried different tips from different websites and am completely at a loss for what my next trouble shooting tip needs to be.
Also, I saw where you can remove the ads by changing the extension name of a file to .bat or go in and uncheck some boxes, both in the super user ES3 folders and neither one will accept the changes.
Please help my sanity.

Uninstall the Play Store in whatever way you can (such as using ES File Explorer), then use the KF Fist Aide tool to install the Play Store again. It also has an option to remove the Amazon ads too.

[Q] Installing Chrome or any APK's

Looks like ES File Explorer isn't available in the Amazon app store for the Fire Phone. I've tried downloading .apk's from elsewhere via silk to no avail (it looks like it is specifically not allowing *.apk's to download). There is the option to allow installing 3rd party apps, but not sure how to get the apk on the device. Anyone found a way yet?
Mine is still sitting on a UPS truck somewhere here in town, will have it soon. I sure hope we can at least get gMail and Chrome working otherwise I may return mine shortly after getting it.
Edit: oh crap, didn't realize YouTube will not work either.
adb sideloading works...
I was able to enable USB debugging by going into Settings > Device > Get Info About Your Fire and tapping the device name 5 times.
After that I following this guide ( https://developer.amazon.com/post/T...p-the-ADB-driver-for-Kindle-Fire-Devices.html ) to get the right Kindle adb driver installed.
From there I used the chrome apk found here ( http://www.thinkcomputers.org/how-to-install-google-chrome-on-the-amazon-kindle-fire-hd/ ) and did a "adb install chrome.apk"
So far, so good...
Awesome, wondering if google maps would work the the same.
gmail, youtube, etc have also been installed following this guide... http://www.gizmag.com/how-to-install-google-apps-kindle-fire-hd-hdx/30736/
Not sure about the stability yet, but I will report my findings...
Awesome, mine just arrived. I may leave it shrink wrapped for a couple more hours though.
I've been having difficulties getting my Windows 7 computer to detect the Fire Phone as a valid USB device. Windows tries to install drivers for it but always says drivers are not available. I just installed the android SDK and tried the Kindle drivers and the Google drivers, neither worked as well. I'm very frustrated at this point.
Ok, Windows 7 now sees my phone. I run the "N edition" and had to install many of the packages "N" excludes by default so it was an OS/Microsoft issue.
I just installed the basic four but the google framework crashes frequently while using google apps. The apps work but the framework crashing messages are annoying.
ES File Explorer
I had no issues with downloading this straight to my firephone then installing it. I did have to do some Google.fu to find the apk from a reliable source initialy but once on it is working as normal. If I can find the apk I used ill either upload it to my Google Drive and link or link straight to it if possible.
Es File Explorer
ES Fire Explorer is available for Fire phone. All you need to do is go to Amazon Appstore in your Fire and search for "ES File Explorer" and it will be there.
Yes, ES File Explorer is now on the Amazon App Store
I have installed it, along with many other apks I found on Google, such as Chrome, Instagram, uTorrent, Pandora and a bunch of games like Assassin's Creed Black Flag, Nova, GTA San Andreas and others.
So far everything is working fine. Ive had my Fire Phone for about a month now and it's really not a bad phone. It does everything I need it to.
The only issue I have noticed is that after I have been playing a high definition game for longer than 45 mins or so, the phone does start to get hot. But I just stop playing for a bit and it's fine.
Back to the original question though, yes ES File Explorer is now on the App store and working properly, and you can install just about any apk you can find.

Disney+ and Primevideo on TCL 43P610 Smart tv

Hi, I bought this smart tv yesterday and I saw that it doesn't have many useful apps, including disney + and Primevideo. They are not even present on the store. Also in the system there is no app that acts as a file manager or that allows you to install external apks. I would like to know if anyone knows a way to install those apps, or change firmware, or install a file manager, or something like that. For example i see on youtube that with old smart tv they were able to downgrade the firmware and install a different store from which they install a file manager, and from this they install primevideo.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Hey @vincent99187 did you manage to install anything on this **** 43P610?
I have bought as well some weeks ago due a good offer but I totally understand why now... Are we forced to buy an external device to have something usesul a side ths chinese **** preinstalled?
I saw a video with same interface and previous 'app store' where was feasible to download 'es file explorer' to navigate and install APK so somehow I still want to believe, however now isn't available to download and I don't find any way to enable adb or to move our things here..
