Regular users can try installing the update through the manual update process, however, they will most likely come across an error. There is always an option to sideload the update via a custom recovery like TWRP, but that would require unlocking the bootloader.

Can't update, It requires beta testing account

Because it's not a Global Stable Rom as the OP indicated, rather its a Global Beta Rom that requires a beta testing account for it to be installed successfully

Thread closed at op's request.

Hi. Those versions are only available through the updater app if you have China dev or global dev ROM installed. Your device will come with global stable probably and to experience miui 9 and android 7 you will have to flash twrp and flash the dev ROM or use MiFlash with the fastboot method.

One more question: it comes with bootloader unlocked? Anyway there's tutorial to follow everywhere =)

If it's from gearbest i think it will come with global stable.
About the unlocked bootloader , i don't think so , but there are tutorials to flash roms without unlocking the bootloader if you wanna hurry flashing . The best is to unlock it officially and proceed after with flashing.
MIUI 9 - v7.10.19 - China Developer Rom .. That's the final rom they have released (until now) that I downloaded..
Probably it comes with GApps and Chinese 'bloatware' (I would throw them away with Titanium backup, no problem).
Does this have some problems?? Anyone installed this specific version yet?

Anyone?

Hi! If you refer to the post above you , yea , i've tested the china developer rom. It does not have gapps and has chinese xiaomi apps that can be uninstalled.
If you guys want to try the china developer rom , you can download the latest version from xiaomi.eu , it's based on it and has gapps. Also , it is optimised for a smoother experience and no bloatware.

How often do you get updates?

I am new to Mi 6 and I am thinking to root. But how frequent are the updates? I want to know so that I can decide whether to root now or not. And can you get updates after root?
One extra question is that you use odin for samsung phones to flash stock firmware, what you use for mi 6?
Thanks
Depends on ROM you are using. If it's DEV rom - updates are every week (thursday/friday). If it's global - updates are irregular, made in long intervals of time.
I, personally, am using xiaomi.eu dev rom (MIUI 9.1 v. 7.11.16), and I have rooted Mi6. After update you are losing root and you'll need to root again. So, answering your question - you can update safely even if you have root, but you will need to root again.
When I was switching from stock global to xiaomi.eu rom, I simply unlocked bootloader (if you have agreement from Xiaomi), flashed twrp, then flashed rom from zip. After that you have OTA updates so it's simple and easy.
If you want stock rom - I suggest using MiFlash tool.

Hey thanks man. So even with root and twrp I will get OTA updates? I am on global rom
Sure, you have to unlock the bootloader of your phone before you can install TWRP and root.
Then you can install whatever you want... MIUI Weekly ROMs, Stable ROMs, custom ROMs .. etc.

Can I install MIUI 8.7.26 (MIUI10) without worrying about ARB?

I have a Redmi Note 5 Global with MIUI 9.5.19, and I want to install 8.7.26 (MIUI10) because I can't unlock my bootloader yet (14 days to go).
My question is: can I do that safely without bricking my device? And can I go back to MIUI 9.5.19 if I wanted to?
Thanks!
I did same thing and it worked flawlessly.

You have a locked bootloader? You used a recovery ROM or a fastboot ROM (MiFlash tool)?
Thanks!

Just update through the phones settings with the zip file. You might need to try different MIUI 10 versions. There is always only one version you can go to from your current MIUI 9 version. Took me 4 tries but now it's working great

I flashed MIUI 8.7.26 through the method you mentioned without issues, but it has so many bugs, especially with notifications on lockscreen that bother me so much. Do you know if I can revert back to global stable MIUI 9 with the same method without issues with ARB?

How to OTA update MIUI on an unlocked, TWRPed RN5P Indian Variant.

Hey guys. The title says it all, pretty much.
I'm currently running on MIUI 8.9.20 and wanted to update to 8.10.11.
Since my bootloader is unlocked though, and I have RedWolf Recovery installed, I'm unable to install the OTA update.
Could you please help me figure out how to update to the latest version?
Thank you!

1- Follow this guide [Red Wolf] Install TWRP and root your device without breaking incremental OTA's!
2- Change OTA Survival trigger path from to "META-INF/com/miui_miui_update" to "META-INF/com/google/android/update_binary

Can somebody share a OTA download link for MIUI 8.10.11 Global Beta?? I've TWRP installed & I'm getting Full ROM update in Updater App.
I Googled but no luck

I will try root My Xiaomi Mi 9 SE Tomorrow, can you help me?

I haven't found many guides on the internet about how to root Mi 9 SE specifically, just for the ordinary Mi 9. Below, I found these guides that I intend to follow tomorrow, because when trying to unlock the bootloader, the deadline given me expires tomorrow.
Could you confirm that these methods are correct? I just want to root my phone with Magisk.

Using te XiaoMiTool V2 project, Link 3: https://www.xiaomitool.com/V2/
Below are some specifications to ensure it is compatible.
Android version: 9 PKQ1.181121.001
MIUI version: MIUI Global 10.3.4 Stable (10.3.4.0 PFBEUXM)
Model: M1903F2G
Thank you for your support!
Just follow this guide

Once you got TWRP running, flash magisk zip and you are done.

What TWRP version did you use? I cant find a proper working version for my Mi 9SE.
I just want to change from the China ROM to the EU ROM until there is a better Global ROM out. Like Havoc or PE.
