[Problem] Bootloop "Your Device is corrupt." Can't access recovery. - Nokia X5 (Nokia 5.1 Plus) Questions & Answers

Hello,
Woke up to my phone turned off and upon turning it on showing the Your Device is corrupt error and after 30 seconds a reboot happens automatically. I remember I had a "low disk space" alert for a few days. I think there is absolutely no free disc space. I can't access recovery as when I hold down any buttons it turns on and quickly shuts down within 1 second upon the first screen showing.
Don't know what to do. I had many important files on it as well.
Any tips would be massively appreciated.

Why are we facing this issue?

+1
Any solution for this?
My device is also facing the same issue.

Factory reset is the only option!!
connect your phone to pc in normal charging mode and then try booting to recovery mode (power&vol+), you should be able to boot to recovery.
you will loose all your data.

Sadly this is clearly not working. There is quite a few posts on the nokia forum relating to this and the android 10 update bricking the device. But so far there is no solution and as well as that, the recovery mode is not available.
There appears to be some opportunists on youtube that are exploiting this to profit to fix the device, but that is no real help.
So I'm also in the club of a bricked Nokia (well its my mothers phone) that has remained stock the entire time. (it's a good thing I kept my Nexus 4!)

Try booting in fastboot .
Poweroff your phone .
Connect to pc .
Press (vol- & power) until the logo appears with a little fastboot written in left bottom.
If you are able to boot into fastboot then tell me I will give you the solution.

Yeah, it's refusing to go into fastboot, just keeps going in a cycle back to the corrupt error again

Hello i had the same problem , i recovered my 5.1 plus this worked for me maybe it works for you too.
First download sp flash tool and firmware file i have 5.1 plus world wide version and dowload the image PDA-209B-0-00WW-B06 for x5 use the image with cn not ww.
Unzip flash tool and the image PDA-209B-0-00WW-B06.
Run sp flash tool load the scatter file from the image, then unthick the box sutinfo, systeminfo_a & cda_a and hit dowload, conect youre phone holding volume up and down until it starts download.
Wait until it finish and the green box wit ok appears. Now the phone will start and after android one logo, the robot image and no comand will show up, click power button then quick on volume up and recovery menu shows.
Now you need a micro sd card and OTA update file download the Android 10 Update (V3.11A) : ace851ea59294177f677018648d6c0614317510e.zip.
Copy the zip file on the micro sd then insert it on the phone. From the recovery menu choose update from sd card then select : ace851ea59294177f677018648d6c0614317510e.zip
The update will start wait untill recovery says succesful it will take some time be patient. After that reboot all done youre device should work. Its my first post i cant post links sorry the sistem wont let me.

You left the most important step .
Readback step in SP FlashTool.

Hey folks!
Let me share what worked for me when I solved this issue on a friend's phone.
This guide is dependent on you being able to boot into recovery mode - the screen with the green android robot laying down with a red exclamation mark on top of it.
We'll use recovery mode to sideload an OTA image to the device. Go to the Nokia OTA repository on telegram (search for Nokia OTA repository). Once there search for Nokia 5.1 plus and from the search results look for a full Android 10 OTA image with the April security patch (sorry, can't post links - should be 1.23 GB). Download that file and move it to the root directory on your SD card and then insert your SD card into your device.
Now, boot into recovery mode on your device (there's a key combination that will get you there but I'm not exactly sure what it is - try Power + Volume Up or Power + Volume Down). Once you get to the recovery mode screen, press Power and Volume Up to load the recovery menu. You'll see a bunch of options listed there - the one we're keen on is 'Install zip from SD Card'. Scroll down using the Volume Down button until you get to that option and then press the Power button to select it. You should then be able to select the zip file you downloaded earlier from your SD card. The process should then take a few minutes to complete. If all goes well, you can now reboot your device and Profit!
Good luck!

Readback is the most important step when you are flashing stock rom .. it backups all the partitions in a single file which you can use to restore if something goes wrong .. many users have faced issues because they didn't do the readback process . You can check out the guide for downgrade and there is nothing to search about .. if you can access recovery/fastboot then it's very easy to restore . If you can't you will have to flash the stock rom . You can check the guide in Guides thread. You just got lucky .if something went wrong you would have end up bricked up your device bad.

Root guide for Byond MI Book MI3 (CWM recovery and ROM DUMP included)

First things first:
1. Rooting essentially means you are fiddling with the installed OS. This may at times turn ugly and may result in permanent bricking of your phone (simple terms: your device will be dead, wont boot up).
2. Most companies do not entertain warranty claims for a rooted device, obviously because you have unlocked their software.
Ready to take the above risks?? Read On:
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
ROOTING GUIDE:
1. Charge your device to 100%
2. Go to settings/development and check the USB debugging mode to : Enabled.
3. If you have never ever connected your device to PC, connect it via USB cable. You will see that the drivers for your device will get installed.
4. Download UnlockRoot Pro v3.2 (free version) from : http://www.unlockroot.com/download.html
5. Run UnlockRoot.
6. Click root device on left panel of the UnlockRoot UI.
7. Wait till it says : your device is rooted.
8. Your device 'may' restart. Let it restart.
9. Check for 'Superuser' app in your app drawer.
10. Can you see 'Super User' app?? Congo!! Your device is now rooted.
Hey Wait !! Since you are now rooted. You can now install ClockWorkMod recovery on your device. With all the tinkering you will now do on your device, since its rooted, it becomes very important to install a 'System Backing up' tool on you phone. Every time you want to fiddle with your system, make a back up of your entire device (includes OS/Settings/Apps/Data) on an external SD card; so that if something goes wrong, you can restore your backup and your device will be good again (just like recovery point system in Windows OS).
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
INSTALLING CWM and MAKING BACKUP.
1. Be doubly sure that your phone is rooted and charged to 100%.
2. Download CWM.zip file from the attachments at the end of this post.
3. Transfer the CWM.zip file to the external memory card on you device, with the help of USB cable.
4. Switch off your device.
5. Press power + volume (-) button together until you see an android logo. The moment you see the logo, release the buttons.
6. You will next see an android bot logo, with his heart ripped and and exclamation mark on it. He's heart broken that you are fiddling with him.
7. Dont freak out. Now press volume (-) button again and you will see the default recovery manager.
8. Scroll down by pressing volume (-) button, to 'install zip from ext card' option.
9. Select this option by pressing volume (+) button.
10. A new window will open.
11. Scroll down to install from 'external storage' option. Press volume (+) button to select.
12. A new window showing all contents of your SD card will come up.
13. Scroll down and select CWM.zip file. Press volume (+) button to select.
14. The zip will get installed. A new windows will open up showing the CWM recovery manager.
15. Congo !
16. Now lets take 1st backup of your System. Scroll down to backup/restore option and press power button to select.
17. Scroll down to backup and select. Backing up will start. Once finished you will be redirected to the home window of CWM.
18. Now. Scroll down to reboot system option. Press POWER button to select.
19. Your system will shut down. Manually boot up your device again.
* Be careful with the controls for 'scroll' and 'select' in default and CWM recovery. Both are different. Follow the above instructions carefully. * Every time you want to back up/restore your system you have to repeat the above steps. I have not flashed the default recovery with the CWM, so that you always have the stock recovery working, in case everything else fails.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
TO RESTORE A SYSTEM IMAGE YOU CREATED EARLIER WITH CWM.
1. Follow steps 1 - 15 in the above tut.
2. Once you are in CWM recovery. Scroll down to backup/restore option and press power button to select.
3. Scroll down to 'Restore' option and select.
4. Choose the backup image you want to restore. Press power button to select.
5. System restore will start and finish.
6. Reboot.
Always do a backup before you try to uninstall any system app. Never uninstall any app about which you are not sure, what it does. Follow your gut feeling.

Does the stock recovery gets totally replaced wen u flash with CWM or can u revert back to stock recovery later if needed?
Also can u create a flashable zip file or tpt of the stock recovery? It would be great.

I couldn't sign into Google accounts using my Mibook mi3 tablet. It said "Cannot establish a reliable connection to the server. This could be a temporary error or your device is not provisioned for data usage."
I use wifi and the connection is stable. I can browse the internet well. I tried factory resetting and getting the same error.
I cannot add Accounts in accounts and sync tab in settings as well.
So i rooted and tried to flash it with the stock flash in the thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2086957) hoping to resolve it.

This problem has been occuring in all mi3 tablets. I had contacted ByondTech Customer Support.
NO NEED TO ROOT TABLET FOR THIS PROBLEM.
They emailed me an update patch which again enabled Google Account access.
update.zip
Select and apply the update.zip file. [For steps check the first post for applying CWM. Similar steps just instead of CWM.zip here file name is update.zip]
Reboot and then you will be able to access Google AC, Play Store, Gmail, etc.
Thanks a lot for Update.zip

Byond Mi1 - Lying Android Bot with exclamation mark
Hello,
my topic doesn't fit perfectly, but after pressing the home and power button on the Mi1 for a few seconds, I have an Android Bot lying on his back with an exclamation mark above him.
Since the Mi1 has only a power button, a home button and a reset button, I don't know how to get it out of this state. If anyone has experienced this, and has a cure, I would be more than happy to hear about it.
I went to the local Byond support center, but they were actually not a support center anymore, they said. And searches on the net only found the same questions, but no answers. Before I try to run to other support centers in the bigger cities, I would like to try my luck here.
Thanks for listening

phone bricked? stuck at "this build is for.." screen

hi guys,
today i made a huge mistake. i was trying to deinstall the cm9 by just wiping my phone. accidentaly i made a "system wipe" with my recovery. now my phone ist stuck in the "this build is for development purposes only" screen. i tried to reboot into recovery via the aio kit - error: device not found. (led not flashing, not even when i connect it to the "normal" loading adapter). i just read another thread which ended in sending the device back to htc. i wonder if there is any possibility to safe my phone from that.

Are you able to acces the Bootloader by closing the phone and restart it by keeping pressed at same time VOLUME DOWN + POWER ?
Be careful: Do NOT press volume UP!, Do not hold Volume Down for too long!
Once you are in the bootloader you should be able to:
A:Go into recovery and repair it from there in you have the ROM on your SD card.
B:If you are unable to acces recovery mode from bootloader, try to use the All In One Tool and flash the TWRP Recovery (the one in the right part of the window) also, note that there are too version, CDMA and GSM, if you have a sim card flash GSM, if you do not have a simcard use CDMA.
Let me know how it went

thanks for ur help.
edit: i feel.. pranked now it worked and i went from bootloader to recovery (twrp already installed). can u tell me what to do now? thanks a lot already
Hm,
Well since you cant remove the battery on this phone, id suggest to just let it finish with what it has left off of the battery. once it is closed try to recharge it and then try to boot in recovery, ofc you might not be able to do this today, depends how much battery you had left when the problem started, but it's a chance, also if it's rooted you bootloader will be unlocked so i doubt HTC will grant you warranty for it (not 100% about this though). let us know if you manage to do any progress with it after you manage to make it close.
cheers

i just edited my post. managed to get into recovery (twrp). what do i have to do now?
Download a new rom and transfer it to your sd card, then flash it from your recovery.
If u have the ROM in the SD card just flash it and reboot other wise as he mentioned above

Ok, last night i went to sleep.
You now need to find a way to put a ROM on your SD card. whatever ROM you choose make sure you have the correct kernel for it (in every post for ROMs you will find a download link to the correct kernel aswell).
So what you do now (after you have the ROM .zip file on your SD card and your Kernel file in your PC) is:
-Put your phone into Bootloader, Select fast boot and connect the USB cable, and make sure it tells on your phone "FASTBOOT USB"
-Then in All in One select "Flash Kernel" and browse to the correct Kernel, and flash it.
-Reboot your phone in Recovery mode, you have the option in the fastboot screen.
-In the Recovery menu select Factory Reset -> Wipe System.
-While still in recovery go to "Install update from SD card" (or something similar) and choose the ROM .zip file, wait for it to be flashed
-reboot your phone (1st boot is always a bit slower, could take up to 5 minutes).
-after you get to your main screen, reboot the phone again and flash a Google Apps (gapps) .zip file. You will find the correct version from your ROM in the official thread of the ROM. You DO NOT run a factory reset, wipe system or anything like that for flashing Gapps.
Good luck.
got my phone working again. additionally i tried to "re-stock" my phone via a ruu.exe. now i have a new problem ( -.- ;D). my phone wont connect to wlan. it always hangs on "authenticating with wifi (dont know if translated it the right way)". some has an idea how to solve that problem?
p.s. sry for answering this late. had to do a lot of stuff for my finals :/
edit: was a problem with my router
flash a proper kernel

Help! N7 stucked at loading screen while attempting to root

Hi all,
I tried to root my Nexus 7 according to this youtube link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1cD-JXRGX8
During the step to install" super SU", i copied the the "unzipped" version of the file into the device, and couldn't install it as per video.
So i tried restating the device to try to copy the right file to the device, but now it just stucked at the loading screen (circle & square alternating, not the X screen) and i couldn't power it off too.
What should i do? Help please! Thanks!

Is it still recognised by the computer?
As in, if you plug it in with USB does it appear on your device manager?
Anyway, I would recommend using Wug's Toolkit (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2389107) to sort you out.
It's pretty straight forward so you should be able to fix it easly.

Any other options? Just wait it out till the battery is dead?

I tried to root my Nexus 7 according to this youtube link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1cD-JXRGX8
During the step to install" super SU", i copied the the "unzipped" version of the file into the device, and couldn't install it as per video.
So i tried restating the device to try to copy the right file to the device, but now it just stucked at the loading screen (circle & square alternating, not the X screen) and i couldn't power it off too.
What should i do? Help please! Thanks!

Long press the power button and that will make it reboot, as soon as the screen turns OFF, hold down the volume down button and it will boot into the bootloader, use the volume button to select recovery, press the start button to go into recovery. In recovery (TWRP) click on wipe then do a factory reset. If it is off, press and hold volume down and power button together and that will get you to the bootloader screen.

This whole rooting process confuse me. So you're saying after doing this, just start over the rooting process as per youtube link again or continue the step where i did wrong?
P/S is it easier to root using that rootkit as per post above?

You're two thirds of the way there. You supposedly have the bootloader unlocked, you can see that when it boots up at the "Google" screen the lock will be unlocked, It will also say unlocked in the bootloader screen. And you should have TWRP installed if you tried to flash supersu. So.. at this point, you need to flash the supersu "zip" in TWRP. Before you start making any changes I would recommend making a backup in TWRP.

What you are using is part of the android sdk (adb/fastboot), the platform-tools folder with the usb drivers moved into it, not really a toolkit. I've never used a toolkit so I can't say a lot about them, I have the complete sdk installed, you were using part of it. Were you able to boot into recovery and do a factory reset?
You should not have followed that guide.
1st: Go to here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053. Download the zip. DO NOT UNZIP.
2nd: Make sure that ADB is set up on your computer. To download, go to https://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html. Follow the instructions to install. Open the SDK (should be in C\development\adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20131030\, or whereever you installed, it is an execultable file. It should have a little green android logo next to it, and it is called "SDK Manager". It will take a couple seconds to open. Once it has opened, install "Android SDK Platform-tools".
3rd: Move the Super SU zip into the C\development\adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20131030\sdk\platform-tools, or wherever you installed the platform-tools. It should be inside the SDK folder. Just paste the zip there.
4th: Boot your Nexus 7 into recovery. Push and hold the power button and volume down button at the same time and boot into the bootloader.
5th: Boot into recovery. Do so by pressing the power button for a while, and eventually it will shut off, as mentioned above.
6th: Press and hold power button and volume down to boot into bootloader. Once in the bootloader, push the volume down button until recovery is selected.
7th: Boot into recovery by pressing the power button.
8th: In recovery, wipe the cache and dalvik under the advanced wipe in the wipe menu. Go back and click install. Click "apply from sideload", or something like that, I forgot the exact wording. Connect your tablet to your computer through a USB cable.
9th: Go back to your computer. Go to C\development\adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20131030\sdk\ or wherever you installed the sdk. Press shift, and then right click on the folder that says "platform-tools". In the menu, click "open command window here".
10th: Copy the exact name of the supersu zip file in the platform-tools folder.
11th: In the command window type: adb sideload UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.86.zip
12th: Press enter. The name of the super su file may not be exactly that, but similar to it.
13: Reboot your tablet.
I don't know if you are a noob, or very experienced, so I made this as noob-friendly as posisble, sorry if I offended you in any way. Here are some pictures.
I did manage to boot into bootloader screen 7 the option to start, but same thing happen, it still stucked at the "4 colors" circle screen. Problem is guys i couldn't get the PC to recognise my tablet even in the bootloader screen. What should i do now?

Ok i can boot to recovery mode and get to TWRP. But as my post above the superSU is not in zipped form, what should i do then? And i couldn't copy the zipped verison into the tablet as my PC won't recognise the tablet. Do i choose wipe to start all over again from scratch? (assuming that's what wipe will do?) or browse into subfolder of superSU "i.e. app, bin, etc, xbi" and install form there manually? Dam im confused without knowing any basic of rooting...I thnk you're the closest to understanding where i am now, please help! Thanks!
ok guys i think my N7 got some serious problem!!
Now it would just stucked on the Google screen and won't even go to the recovery mode!!!
What should i do now to reset it back to original state now?!!

Try and do a factory reset. Just remember a factory reset is not a restore and it will not put your device back to the way it was before you tried to root. A factory reset will wipe the cache and data, not the system. Any changes to the system, kernel or recovery that you made will still be there after a factory reset. Go ahead and dot a reset and let's see if that will get your N7 to boot up. And we can go from there.

Yep I'm serious **** now! Any more experts here have any idea? Or do i have to bring it to local mobile shop to get it fixed? Is Google able to help ?
Anyway... getting supersu installed is a non-issue if you can't get it to boot up. When you were trying to download supersu what you were looking for was the installable zip at Chainfires thread."CWM / TWRP / MobileODIN installable ZIP: http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu."

Any manual hardware reset option on N7?
If a factory reset didn't clear it up you might be able to get away with just flashing the system image. Long pressing won't make it reboot?
I'll tell you how the tablet is right now, and hopefully you have some ideas where to go from here.
Atm, when i turn on and off the tablet.
but when i turn it on, it will go straight to the google screen with lock image at the bottom, then it will just stuck there
I tried going to recovery mode, and it won't come up with TWRP , and after a black screen, it will go back to boot screen
Tried "restart bootloader", did nothing too, just gone back original boot screen .
So now what? Gosh did i just break my brand new N7?

you may want to flash your phone back. so this consist of
1) read up how to access to Temp CWM
2) download and transfer the full rom to your SD card
3) do a wipe all partition and go to advanced setting, wipe cache
4) install zip and choose from external SD, point to that .zip file for the full rom and apply.
5) installation may take 10min or so do not switch it off. after installation you are good as new.
I believe this should solve your problem, normal if things get bricked is due to config file error could be [syntax, corrupted, missing, setting].
Flashing should solve mostly of it unless the file that you previously accessed require root and cwm does not give permission to the file. that is a permanent bricking.
As always, newbie should not try tweaking permission required files, you end up having bricking the device as there might be no solution to recover it due to access rights. ALWAYS have a back up file so you can at least copy the file back and chmod it.

here is the stock firmware.
https://www.asus.com/Phones/ZenFone_2_ZE551ML/HelpDesk_Download/
its fine if your phone does not talk to your PC now. copy the firmware to your SD card via other means. [card reader etc]
then try my method of flashing it back to original state, you stated that adb dont work, have you tried the temp CWM method yet?
the main goal is to wipe dalvik cache under advanced menu in CWM, and cache partition and all hard reset.
then you flash back your original file.
hope it works for you.

ive read about the temp cmw method and i cant figure out how to go about it. it says on the instruction that you need to turn on phone before running the cai_dat_CWM. how am i going to do this as my phone will only boot to the asus logo? thanks
just figured it out. I need to boot in fastboot so the phone will get recognized. However, the latest build available on the asus website is still 2.17.40.12. I already have the 2.18.40.12 version. The 2.17 firmware can't overwrite the newer build in temp CWM recovery. Anybody knows where i can download the full rom? Z00A-WW-2.18.40.12?

Looking to replace stock rom

Just purchased the P8000 with the stock UI and all those little apps they install that no one ever actually wants.
Is there a rom I can install that will basically put this back to being what I think is a standard UK phone. It versions are presently as follows.
Android V 5.1
BaseBand V: MOLY.LR9.W1444.MD.LWTGLMP.V16.P10
Kernel: 3.10.65
Build No: ALPS.L1.MP3.V2.NB6753.65U.L1_P22
Custom Build Version: Elephone_P9000_20151014
thanks in advance
You should try Eragon rom, this is much better than stock although it is based on stock it has been improved greatly. This is the only fully working rom at present.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/elephone-p8000/development/rom-06-9-eragon-1-0-android-5-1-t3195007
Sorry thats not true, there is a vibe and flyme rom but they either have Chinese apps or lots of features we can use.
Thats the one I think I am going to look at this evening when I get home, thanks. Cant understand why they have some great and cheap phones coming out of Asia but insist on filling them up with bloatware...
Personally I dont think the p8000 has much bloat especially compared to samsung phones. I am sure you will enjoy Eragon.
I lost my phone (lenovo) in Dubai, was not handed in at the airport, no surprises there, so this is a cheap alternative.
Anyway, followed the instructions, and my screen looks nothing like the one on the Elephone instructions page.
I can see the recovery function, but when I select it, the Elephone logo appears for a few seconds, then I have a dead Android icon, with red triangle and exclamation mark, so I cant even root the thing yet, even following their instructions
Try using philz recovery, this is what I use. Its a scatter file just like elephones clockworkmod version. Just to confirm, are you holding volume up button and power at the same time which brings up the bootloader. Then select what you want with volume up and confirm with volume down?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ele...covery-philz-touch-6-59-0-port-p8000-t3224478
ok Im going to have another go at this, as I am not sure I did anything right.
Looking at the Phillz Link, it takes me to the flash info at Elephones site.
Followed the instructions and selected scatter file, flashtool download took about 4 seconds, max.
Came up with the big green tick in the window
Now is where I am lost, because it says the rom download is now completed, but nothing on the phone has changed, and there appear to be no more instructions?
What exactly have I just done, because its not entirely clear.
I am assuming I just downloaded a backup copy of the rom I have presently installed, the stock P8000 rom, but the instructions are not exactly clear on this
ok, this time on holding power and vol down I got a different display, but sadly the 4 available options were in chinese so I have no idea which one to select, and I suspect the next page, should I guess right, will also be in Chinese, so I guess I cant do this,
Right, making some, little, progress.
Now get into bootloader (instructions are not quite right for me, have to do Pwr + Vol Down, then select recovery, then hold power and vol up to get into bootloader
Anyway, select eragon from folders, and it starts then says failed with an error aborted.
Back to try again, with new fresh download
ok following the instructions from Eragon, I get to the select the zip and it starts and fails, however, I place the zip fileon what I know is the external microSD I put in the phone, but I get the feeling that during the start process it un-mounts this drive and thus fails immediately.
So, I am now able to do as follows.
Put ZIP onto external SD
Boot into Bootloader
factory reset phone
Select ZIP
Start install
fail with following information
E:cannot mount custom path
E:you must first setup a valid folder
/storage/sdcard1: Checking
/storage/sdcard1: mounted

Opening update package...
E:/Cant Open storage/sdcard1/Eragon_P8000_V_5.5.0.zip

E:Installation aborted
Press any key to continue
lovely, looks like its bricked.
Get logo nothing else
Can get to the android menu where it says recovery, something I cant read and normal, but recovery does nothing
Which revovery do you use?
Use thePhillz Touch recovery, cwm have problems with external sd.
Best way to install it is for you via SPFlash tool.
If you done with that, you can boot into bootloader and choose there recovery.
Than you should be able to install the marvelous Eragon ROM.
hth
Cheers
sorry Im not following you.
I have the flash tool software
I appear to no longer be able to get into the bootloader.
can I upgrade the firmware to Eragon using the flashtool?
I have to say, I am a very technical person but this is a baffling process.
I am well versed in rom updates on MB, Tablets etc, all of which should be similar.
after trying both the Eragon and Phillz instructions, nether worked for me
Then I found the phone sat at the logo and I was unable to do anything
Now, for unknown reasons it let me into the bootloader again
I am now able to factory reset
I am not going to try Eragon because it simply will not let me do it
Are you all sure you have the same phone, or that there are not perhaps some versions of the same phone where these instructions are not right?
What seems simple to do is proving impossible to do
Why else able to enter the recovery

I had trouble getting Philz recovery to load to phone but finally got it to work using the latest version of SP flash tool from Android MTK. Google to find it. Load the scatter.txt from unzipped Philz recovery, click download, attach powered off phone to PC. Only took a few minutes to load for me.
