ColorOs v7 with new UI android 10 update for realme2pro - Realme 2 pro Guides, News, & Discussion

Today I received android 10 update in RMX1801 with new UI Color OS V7. To get that you need to participate in the Trial.
Go to settings>Software update>Settings menu on top right corner>Trial version>Apply for trial with a valid email ID or Mobile no if seats are available (There are almost 20K seats available), After this go back to update, let the page refresh.. and you will get android 10 update.
Remember to get this update you need to be in the latest stable android 9 version--https://www.realme.com/in/support/software-update#
Hope this helps people

It looks cool, but Dai Font Support disappear, no more custom fonts but I think it's worth the 'sacrifice'

Paranoid Android

Anyone here running Paranoid Android on their Nexus 7 2013 Wifi? I can't seem to find any videos on youtube.
How's it running for you?
You dont need any videos, it is just stock with theme engine and some quicksettings toggles.
People usually stay away from Paranoid Android because : It gets updated at most twice a year and usually they abandon updating they ROM after one build. For example on any device: MM comes out, they release after half an year a build and then maybe, if lucky, another one after 4-5 months and then after a month or so, Nougat comes out they do not make a final build of MM and so on. It's just unreliable ... I prefer staying on Google's stock image and root it, instead of having a custom ROM with almost 0 added customization options and unreliable updates and improvements that "may" or may not come in the future if they want to release a build or they just skip to next Android version.
TL;DR : Google Stock Image > Paranoid Android because it has almost the same limited UI customization options and features but Google updates Android with fixes and security updates more frequently than Paranoid Android does. My advice : stay away from Paranoid Android.
True, it is not going to harm your device or anything but there is no reason at all to get into the trouble of installing this rom and setting everything up from scratch.

Miui vs android versions

Hi guys I know android version matters but I had a doubt that . Does miui does the job or is android version very necessary cause I use custom ROM havoc os for now but I want a stable software and if I install miui 10 will I miss something and miui too has some features and I quite miss it on custom ROM .
But I wanted to know that weather custom ROM is safe to use for a longer time as I don't want to lose data and not interested in changing ROM frequently and as miui gets on updated every now and then is there any difference or it's just the same
I was a long time android user and if I found a rom that did what I needed and was stable I did not continuously update unless I had bugs.
Usually the new features or fixes are minimal unless going between android versions - marshmellow to oreo for instance..
I am now using Miui, other then the screen layout it is pretty much the same. not seeing anything different in my day today usage other then I have started using gestures and full screen (so no navigation bar at the bottom but still have the status bar at the top).
There ARE a couple of things I need to resolve - ads in the file manager (will look to stop that, or see if a 3rd party manager removes them). but give them a go and see what works for you..

Android 11 released for G Stylus -- anyone got it?

I saw yesterday on various tech boards that the G Stylus (Pro) has started receiving the official Android 11/R updates, with the first ones appearing on January 30th or so. Saw many screenshots of the update screens and read a few user reports/reviews.
It appeared that many of the reports are coming out of the UK and Europe. Has anyone here received the update or notification yet? I'm running RR 8.6.4, so I won't get the notification. However, if its being pushed out already --- I might revert to the 10 stock rom and give it a go.
Also, I'm guessing the factory unlocked and unbranded phones are more likely to get the push than the retail branded variants, correct? If you have received the 11 build, what variant/carrier do you have?
I'm running the factory unlocked variant, with verizon as my carrier (doesn't matter lol. just throwing it out there).
I recently got an update. Finally installing it. QPR30.80-58-8-3-2-4. It's not android 11, just an update. Why update if there is a whole new version of software. Seems like a waste of time. Which makes me think 11 isn't coming anytime soon.
I made a .bat to flash the g pro 11 update on my metro stylus. Running pretty smooth. Stylus options are updated as well. I dont know about the service since I dont have metro anymore and its locked to them. If anyone has an unlocked bootloader and wants it let me know.
No Android 11 update here yet, US Unlocked. Hoping they unlock the wide angle lens for photos, among other things.
I downloaded the UK Android 11 update. I used a batch file to flash the update via fastboot without wiping data. I have an unlocked bootloader and I am on Verizon. Everything seems to be working, text, phone calls, LTE.
Thanks for the heads up. Hope to get the OTA sooner rather than later.
Hello.
I have G Pro (XT2043-7) which is the retail European (reteu) version.
There was never December update here (Serbia), but today I got notified that Android 11 and January security patch are up.
Android 11 should really be called 10.1... Anyway...
Negative
1) I noticed new Peek Display – now it's the same as on G9 models which personally I don't like (a bit of ugly).
I want Moto signature circle back :/.
2) In Developer options, they removed Theming (it was the last setting). Just why? Motorola's Android 10 phones got
Theming in Moto app, and yet it was never an option for G Pro unless you enable Dev. mode and it worked.
Now is removed or I can't find it anywhere.
EDIT
In Display, they added Styles so there you go. Why is not that a part of Moto app? Who knows...
Positive
1) Phone is smoother and launcher lag with folders is mostly fixed.
2) Gesture navigation finally works with any launcher. I personally use Shade Launcher.

Hello.

i have an unlocked bootloader stylus with metro and would give it a shot, still has service also... (edit) never mind made my own with the RETGB firmware from lolinet. had no issues as of yet.
I'm in the US and I just got the android 11 update last night.
I don't like it On the recents screen, they replaced the bottom row of homescreen with a screenshot button. I barely ever take screenshots, but I used that row of apps constantly.
I was excited for conversation bubbles, but the two apps I heavily use for texting/messaging; discord and Google voice, don't support bubbles (yet...hopefully).
Im thinking about installing a custom rom. The only reason I didn't yet was to get this update OTA.
Just installed it in an unlocked version and now get a VZW popup when trying to turn on hotspot
I just tested my Hotspot. It's still working with no pop-up. Of course, I'm using US Mobile, not Verizon.
I've been running 11 on a retail US model for a day or so & the stock launcher is super laggy.
I got 11 just yesterday.
Just received Android 11 OTA RPR31.Q1-56-9. Was also able to download stock ROM from LMSA:
SOFIAP_RETAIL_RPR31.Q1_56_9_subsidy_DEFAULT_regulatory_DEFAULT_CFC_R4_CFC.xml
Now I'll have the corresponding boot.img and good to go with unrooting and installation of OTA
Anyone find a version of TWRP that works with it (XT2043-4)?
I have received the update. After I have tried installing ROMs with no success. I may have to update the device tree and give it a go at making updated roms

Advice needed on system upgrade for new Pixel 3 XL

Hi ,
Need advice on the best way to upgrade Android version on my new (really new) Pixel 3 XL- still waiting for it.
In the lights of latest news on "EDL Bug" bricking lots of Pixel 3 phones( just search the Internet for last few days ),
I started to doubt if purchasing it was a good idea. So either I return it right away (EBay purchase- 14 days return )
or try to risk it and install Android 10 only and then wait for stable Android 12.... from all of the research it looks like
security update for Android 11 can be the culprit here? Is it possible to jump /omit upgrading to certain versions like jumping
from ver 9 to ver 10 and later straight to ver 12, or does it have to be done in sequence ?
Sorry for a noob question ,,, but until now i was using only IPhone , and now decided to try Pixel devices.
If upgrade HAS to be done in sequence, then risk of Bricking it is too high and I rather return the device , loosing on
shipping only.
Thank you very much,
Lino
Anybody ?....
Please , I will need to make a decision as soon as I receive the new phone!
I am sure that there is a lots of people here, for whom this question is very trivial...
Can I upgrade from Android Pie straight to Android 12, OTA... or should I go in steps..
Thanks. Lino
you can flash the full factory image of android 12 beta, or android 11, whichever you prefer, and google made it easy using the online android flash tool. when using this, you don't need to go in steps whatsoever.

Im running the Scorpian Rom right now. Really do not know whats causing the bricks but im gonna stick to custom roms from here on out.
I'd go with Android 12. Either Beta 4.1, or wait a week or so for the public release. The EDL thing I read is only happening on Android 11, so I think you'll be safe updating to 12.
Ok , thank you all
I think when I receive the phone, I will update OTA to version 10 first , then I wait for official stable version 12
and Sideload it ? Yes? ....Sorry i am totally new to this...
So I have to unlock the bootloader first, do i have to root it ?... like using Majisk ? in order to sideload the stable
version 12 ?
Anybody has a links to good step by step tutorial ? Will appreciate it !
Anyway watching lately lots of you tube videos about unlocking etc,
Will appreciate any general pointers how to go about it, egz. what to do first , second etc.
Thank you, Lino

Question OxygenOS 13

Waiting for OxygenOS 13 OpenBeta 1 release.
Okay.
I hope they provide a path to go from 11 to 13 without having to touch 12.

It seems that you still have to use OxygenOS 12 to get to OxygenOS 13. Except with a Clean Install.

Won't happen and it has never been that way... Unless, you jump it through Oxygen Updater or some other way than a natural system update.
Let's just hope the release date is the same with the COS 13, 091622
EDIT: OOS 13 is here.
next week !!!

No you can't. I tried. Multiple times. In-place local update doesn't list. Even used the US MSM to convert my EU phone to US and it messed up the mobile data meaning I couldn't use SMS code to confirm login even after installing the OxygenOS 13 OB1.
So it installs on EU hardware but it has issues?
I was able to using a T-Mobile LE2127. I converted to EU then used 11.2.10.10 Global rom. Then updated to next update which was global 48. After that I was able to use the open beta on T-Mobile hardware
On L2123, beta works perfect.
Could you share with us how you get it working? Any data loss? Are you rooted?
Thanks in advance.

Data loss sure......you must downgrade to oos11 EU, then update to oos11c47 global and then update again to c63. After that through local update APK, install Beta oss13 global.
I haven't root.
