Samsung One hand operation + Gesture Navigation? - OnePlus 7T Questions & Answers

I hate stock Android navigation Gestures and would prefer Samsung OHO+. Is there any chance i can make it work on my 7t?
I don't mind rooting but i still have no clue what to do after that. Can someone point me to the right direction?
Thanks

There are some apps on store that does this, try miui gestures or search for something else. Don't know if they need root (maybe for back action)

how to swap soft keys!?!?!?!

Hi all,
I've looked everywhere and I can't be the only one who wants this.....
Is there not a way to swap the placement of the back key ala LG G2? It's driving me nuts and is the only thing that is keeping this phone from being perfect (for me) can ANYONE please lend a helping hand?
Thanks

This was the first thing I noticed coming form the LG G2 as well, and haven't found a way yet. Why would they put the back button all the way to the left, it is driving me crazy as it is the most used button!

auto hide soft key's works, but is there any way to use it without the auto-hide/quick bar stuff?
I can't believe there isn't a way to create the same thing that LG has done for this phone. All manufactures should offer this. It's not like HTC didn't "borrow" the knock feature so this shouldn't be a stretch....
I don't get it. I've used Android for years and this is how it is on every device other than Samsung phones. I would just get used to it. Odds are you'll have to anyway in the future.

Never!!!! Lol, I hate that its on the left side. I hold my phone mostly in my right hand and hate how I now need to stretch my hand across to back arrow. This is one area I really do believe Samsung got it right. It's more natural on the right side of the phone. Even if you strongly disagree , at least do what LG has done and give me the option to make it how I want it. If I want to be told how something should be without the option to change it I may as well have a iPhone!

I don't think this app allows you to change the placement of the soft keys does it? I don't see anything in the description that implies that, more meant to just hide the keys.

Yeah, it replaces the nav bar and let's you choose between a bunch of other different themed nav bars. I just can't get it to work without its quickbar feature/autohide.

Anyone know how to swap the "recents" and the "back" button?

Thanks if anyone can help!

Don't think there's a way to natively change that. Your best bet is to root and check out Xposed Modules (if they even exist yet, I'm not sure).
Usually that's the only way to do stuff like that. Or custom ROMs with such settings built-in. I'm looking forward to being able to add another "option's" button on the nav bar. Sucks by default its usually up top.

Used to the Samsung way of doing it? But there's no way to do it stock.
swap recent and back button is inside gravity box. As is all the other must haves. To me personally that is.
I'm waiting patiently for exposed, it'll be a while.> http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed
Came from an s6. I do think the Samsung placement is better since I'm right-handed and use one hand a lot, so the back key on the right is a perfect placement. You do get used it though.

Launch any app with the screen off gestures

I have made a mod for the oneplus one. And since i think these devices have much in common I'm curious if the mod works on the find7 as well.
Is there anyone who wants to try it?

Anyone tried it?
@Thomson2412:
First of all - if anybody with Find 7 is to flash this, he will probably have a custom ROM and it does not have to be CM.
Your zip is obviously for CM ROM. I am using OmniROM with Android 7.1 at the moment.
I flashed it and found out it is not working at all. Altought, it does add the options to settings panel.
Setting any option does not do anything and checking Haptic feedback for any action causes crash.
---
When I flashed the Omni version you have in your original thread (after I removed the OnePlus related checks) the settings options were not there at all - it is in Settings - Device Features.
1. Setting app for Camera gesture works.
2. Clicking on setting vibrator strength causes crash.
And I might be wrong, but it seems that flashing that zip messed up my "menu button one-click".
I do not get any menu popups anymore. Even when I put the original version back..

I can't add gestures to a rom that doesn't have them by default because that would require a kernel change and I'm not capable (yet) to implement "new" gestures. Currently I don't have the time nor interest in learning how to change a kernel. So if your device doesn't have gestures I'm afraid I cant be of any help. I only alter what gestures do not add them or create custom ones.
I hope this answers your question, if not feel free to ask some more

If you are talking those off screen gesture features which comes in OPPO phones mostly (like draw C to open camera or draw M to open music app ) then these kind of features "by default" we dont have in any stock or custom rom But
if Double to tap wake screen (D2W) feature is enough to work your mod on my device then yes we do have this thing in all ROMs by default(kernel enabled )....,,

Immersive Mode

If I happened to have missed a thread with this very topic, please let me know. If not then my request is very simple, yet complex to achieve if the experimentation hasn't been done.
Essentially I want to have full immersive move enable with gestures such as the case with my G6. I know it was achieved by adb shell and an app or two and that's all I'm looking for. If anyone has achieved it then I would like some instructions on how to do so. Thanks in advance!

Not sure if this is what you're looking for.

That's exactly what I wanted. I apologize for not responding back quickly to let you know it worked. I was simply too excited and started playing around with the settings as well as setting up Nacho Notch.
Truly with these changes, the pixel 3xl has been my favorite phone and I haven't even had it for 24 hours yet. Thanks to the both of you for the info!
I have the 3XL also with immersive mode & love it. One problem is the keyboard pops up above where the navigation bar would have been. Any solutions?

Root needed for this but it's worth it.
Hid nav bar app works flawless for me. I use it with "One Plus Gestures" app. No keyboard issues. No Root.

These 2 apps have made the UI much more useful in my opinion. The gestures are easy to learn.

Immersive option with rooted device?

Hello everyone. Good morning guys, We already know that it is not possible to completely remove the status bar without root or through third party programs. It's really frustrating that you use apps or games with a dark bar at the top and you can't enjoy the full screen. Samsung really is very dumb not to give the user the option to choose how they want to use their own phone. So I'm seriously thinking about rooting the device, but I wonder if it's really possible to hide the bar in root mode.
thank you all for your attentionIs
