I can't unlock my Note 8 (ginkgo) in 'Mi Unlock status' - Redmi Note 8 Questions & Answers

I want to root my Redmi Note 8 ginkgo, so for one of the steps I need to register my phone as unlocked using the 'Mi Unlock status' tool found in the developer settings. When I try to do that, it gives back this message: 'Couldn't verify, wait a minute or two and try again'. I have already relogged my Mi account and did a factory reset, but it still only gives out the same message. What can I do to fix this problem?

Tried it, didn't work for me unfortunately...

It looks like my entire mobile data is borked. That also explains why it can't connect to Xiaomi servers. I'm with T-Mobile NL for my sim card. Does that provider have problems with their APN config in MIUI?

I don't know if this will help but I couldn't get it to connect until I tried this -
"After failing to unlock the bootloader a few times, I realized that Xiaomi requires “Find My Device” toggled and synced to the latest location for some reason."

For me the problem was related to the APN config of my mobile carrier, re-entering it fixed my problem. No I only need to wait 7 days...

LG G3 Device Locked - McAfee Needs PIN after Factory Reset

Hey everyone,
Just got a New LG G3 and post a factory reset the device is asking for a McAfee PIN which was never setup. Is there anyway to skip this and move onto the homescreen? This screen has locked the device and no options work except the emergency call option.
Attached is a screenshot of the same.

Thats not going to work as its a lock which shows up before even setting up the phone if you do a factory reset. Spoke to support at Mcafee too who also could not fix it.

Reflash the stock firmware for your device

Get a new phone. Something is wrong. I wonder what LG thought McAfee should give in user plus. You have to root to get rid of it, clever thinking
This is what happens if a half baked feature incorporated into a released device(I say it is half baked, it never should ask for a pin if the pin is not at all set at the first place & McAfee should have a solution to this problem). This is the 3rd or 4th thread that is opened on this issue, within last few days. Hopefully, McAfee or LG quickly find a solution for this, so that users don't suffer.
To OP, as some one suggested please try to flash the stock firmware(if it is possible).
Revoking administration privileges was the first thing I did when I got this phone.

Tried to talk to different representatives from Mcafee and they could not find a solution but anyway I have got this solved by going to the app and resetting it before the lock could show up. Will be writing down later on the complete procedure.
Thanks to everyone for contributing.

u cannot root this device when its lock by mcafee because of kill switch. so u have to think smart.
try to go to setting, in setting> guest> set a code for guest after it turn on guest option. than restart your device, before comming mcafee put the petern as guest... after this u have to go again in administration, at that time u will see mcafee will not come, and u can easily goto the mcafee app, after going on set your number as a buddy number, after setting buddy number, turn your phone off, insert sim and start it again. macafee will again apear... at that time click on send the code to buddy, proceed it.
this code will be applicable for an hour, so if u got the buddy code, after geting pin code u have to change the pic code to new one... after doing this procedure mcafee pin will be change.. and u can use this device
hope you got my point,:good: you dont need to root your device

Hi,
The main point of his workaround was to successfully open mcafee app.
why?
- because it has a feature where you can add buddy numbers.
- buddy numbers can be used to retrieve the unknown pin (not the actual pin but a temporary one which you can use to get past the pin log-in screen) through sending temporary pins to the buddy list.
- mcafee will ask for a new pin combination after the pin requirement screen.
P.S As long as you can open mcafee app, you are fine. I also don't have any workaround aside from what the OP posted.
yes . go to guest mode and turn screen off an on again put admin lock pin and go to mcafee app and set up buddy number @mDaynal you are great

Hope this works for you too.
I faced the same problem and here is how I solved it for myself.
Go to Settings
Under Personal select Security
Scroll down to Credential Storage
Select "Clear credentials (Remove all certificates)"
Once this is done, I managed to gain back the first two options of "Lock Screen" and "No Lock Screen".
Hope this helps you!

Device offline while trying to unlock bootloader

I'm trying to unlock the bootloader of my device so that I can flash TWRP recovery and install Camera2Api but whenever I'm clicking om the option "Find Device" on MiCloud website, my device is showing offline even though every thing in my device is perfectly synced with MiCloud and the "Find Device" is enabled from my phone. And also, whenever I'm trying to login to make the phone "Online" in the site, an error message "Too many SMS requests. Try again in 24 hours." is being shown. Please help.
Nice ROM. Share some screenshots and link to sources. ?

Note 10 Plus SM-N975F asks for PIN after restart

I upgraded my Note 10+ to Android 10 Pie, through beta updates and then final. I noticed that during last days it asks me to enter PIN code for security reasons after restarting the phone (I don't know if it was the exact text, I got the message in italian language). I haven't any reboot scheduled in Device Care app, nor I never saw the moment when the device reboots, I only get this message.
What can I do?
Is there any way to see if Note really restarts and why?
I'm trying to avoid to make a factory reset and reinstall all from scratch.
Sounds like your phone is repeatedly crashing. You could try clearing the system cache. If that doesn't solve the problem, I don't know of any recourse other than factory reset.
That's the PIN settings.
(change the security settings of the phone, remove the pin, and add the pin one more time, but this time, don't click on "ask for pin when restarting the device)
you didn't note why the phone was restarting, or if it was you that was restarting it
or your account had been hacked and they remote locked your phone, try logging in to website version of Googles my device, and remote unlock it.
Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
Just use your last numeric pin you used to log in. This happens I believe when you don't remove the Google accounts from the device before factory resetting or flashing new roms.

No, I'm not restarting it, seems like it restarts by itself but I never saw it while it's restarting, I only notice that it asks for the PIN to unlock and shows that message.
I'm trying to find a tool to get informations about restarts and causes of it, in the meanwhile I enabled the option to restart the phone into the device care app, I configured it and then disabled again, now are 3 days and for now it doesn't ask for the PIN anymore.

I don't think so, I enabled double authentication and got no messages about account violation.
I am having the same problem
I'm having the same problem
Same for me, since beta 2 or so. But i didn't care much tbh.
Before setup your password, system ask you "do boot need a password" . You want to change, must disabled password in lock screen. Than re-entry a password and answer question is "no".

That device is locked with account of the previous device owner? If yes, you should contact the seller for the account password, logout the account, turn off find device and sync, then perform a full factory reset.
Hope this helps

If its locked, then i suggest dont do a factory reset because it will totally locked the device unusable. I suggest dont install any system update too.
