S20 camera - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

Hi, I just purchased a Samsung s20 4G, taking close-up photos of a text or image that fails to focus with 64 mpx mode. Is it a software or hardware problem? Do I have to take it to service? Thank you

Welcome to the s20 bull**** [emoji1787] update the firmware, and reset the camera app. That should solve. Other return it and buy other brand in 2020 [emoji2957]

Firmware is up to date? I think you must chose macro lens maybe, I don't know. Normally I should upgrade for s20 series after 2 years but I had pass.
They are just a big shot in is own foot by Samsung [emoji1787] camera, overheat, battery [emoji2361]

What are you trying to focus ? You can't focus something that is under 30 cm from your device

something like that ??

if I want to photograph an identity document or photograph an inscription on a drink, for example, I can't ...

When you use the telephoto camera with 3:4 12mp in any magnification level you should be at a minimum distance of 10cm-4inch away from the subject.
When you use the telephoto camera with 3:4 64mp you should be at a minimum distance of 20cm-8inch away from the subject.
A lower distance results in a blured picture.

It's an hardware limitation, they try to put the smartphones on the DSLR cameras level... but never gonna happen [emoji1787]

this is not a limitation, but just a new way to take pictures, less one shot but more time, same on P40

Thanks for answers

Is not a new way... It Must be that way. Is phones hardware limitation, that a macro lens in a dslr camera don't have.

I want to see this info too!
I think it does not have this sony IMX486 sensor...
The people of kimovil web, tested the MWC unit and getting the info from a picture taken with this unit, they say it have a Samsung S5K2L7 sensor for the primary rear camera.
P.D. Sorry for my english
Camera information
back_aux: whyred_s5k5e8_ofilm_i
back: whyred_imx486_ofilm_global_i
front: whyred_imx376_ofilm_global_i
Extracted from my Redmi Note 5 Pro.
Great!!!
I supose is the indian version no?
I hope it keeps in the global version
anyway it seems strange that mount a "better" sensor than the new mi mix 2s
Anyone knows which sensor they put on the Chinese / Global versions?
I saw a video telling that they used a Samsung S7 sensor on the Chinese version, but I do not have any corfirmation regard this.
---------- Post added at 03:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:43 PM ----------
Finaly, Chinese camera sensor info:
back_aux: whyred_s5k5e8_ofilm_i
back: whyred_s5k2l7_ofilm_cn_i
front: whyred_ov13855_sunny_cn_i
Rear main camera not has the Samsung Galaxy S7 sensor(the S5K2L1) though, but a very similar one.
Front camera has an omnivision sensor.
I really wanna see a comparassion against indian version.

Can you send the link of this video?
Thanks in advance
Samsung S5K2L7 with F1.9 aperture as the main rear and OV13855/S5K3L8 with F2.0 as the front for the Chinese variant. Higher number of IMX486 doesn't indicate anything when compared to IMX363. IMX363 should be a polished version of IMX362, and the same applies to IMX486 with IMX386. Sony's logic is weird.

Hello guys,
I understand that you want some features that we do not have on our phones.
Is true that Exynos 9610 is recording 4K at 120fps but due bunch of software limitations we cannot do anything about this.
The only way to have everything is to be able to have full control over the phone software.
How to get full control of the software then??

This worked perfectly! I just now am not able to use the ultrawide lens.
I added the aux switcher however while able to switch in viewfinder, even that was not able to take pictures
Is there an APK like this with all functions working?
Is it that much better than the Samsung camera

Yes I have a Snapdragon note 10 plus it's an unlocked Canadian version purchased from the Samsung experience store.
Hopefully there's a working config or version of this soon. My phone is 95% complete exactly how I want it. I'm going to try to use one of my s10 plus configs and see if that works but beyond that lets hope this gets a fix soon.

Doesn`t the normal SD chipset work for everyone not on the exynos chip?
Holding my fingers crossed for a Exynos port of the Gcam for the Ultra. Even with the camera update it seriously smears the texture on photos and have had some horrible portrait photos as a result.
Most annoying part is that if you use the pro mode you get excellent results without any smeared skin tones but using the main camera set on auto without bixby scene detection and 12mp binned photos it sure looks like **** most of the time.
I think Samsung REALLY needs to improve a lot on the camera or it will be the biggest camera failure in the last 10 years....
So unless you mainly post to instagram and actually want to print pictures I suggest you use the 108mp setting and give it a quick sharpening in snapseed (or lightroom for some much needed defringing and sharpening)
So I´m holding out hope for a Gcam port for us stuck with the Exynos chipset that seems to produce slightly worse then the Snapdragon powered Ultra.
Other then that, I love the S20 Ultra and a worthy upgrade from my old S8+

if you can get snapdragon go for s20 if not just go for oppo xfinder x2 or mi 10 pro if camera is important for you, if you want the best camera go for p40 check dxomark.com for camera rankings although p40 have no google services but can be installed in less than 10 minutes

I use ZGCAM vers.917 on my EXYNOS S20 Ultra (XEF) :
-Night mode front and back
-PhotoBooth
-Photo Sphère (bugs sometimes)
-Slow Motion
-Zoom
-Video
-Google Lens
-Portrait (back and Front)
-Panorama
pictures looks better with stock in most of the cases (Night shoots) but with the correct settings i think GCAM will be much better than stock.
with the virus it's hard for me to spend a lot time outside to find the best set up but i think it's a good begining.
I can't share my pictures or setting for the moment( need 10 usefull posts before..)
let me know if you need more details
It is working!!
First app that has worked for me until now
Thank you very much

Actually, there is a version with all the lenses working (even the depth sensor, but just as an indipendent lens).
It should be this one: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-wichaya/
Try to tinker a little bit with the various settings, I managed to get everything working. If it crashes, just delete the app data and try again.
