Great excellent device. But the edge is a big to sharp for holding for too long.

Would you know how the edge compares to the S6 or the S4? Is it sharper than the S6? I have both the S4 and the S6. The S6 is definitely easier to hold for me.

I have the Tab S7+. Sharp edges are definitely an issue. If you want to understand how unfortunate this design choice is, imagine the difference between the sharp and the blunt edge of a knife. Such a huge let down
Edit: I am going to try a protective case

I did try a protective case and it did the trick for me. Check here for more info: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...-hand-feel-t4142995/post83544737#post83544737
How do I like this device? I find myself satisfied with what this device has to offer: A big high quality screen with enough processing power to make everyday interactions smooth. It comes at a hefty price but since this is now my main computing device (only using PC for very demanding work) the price is justified.

It's a 12.4" Screen. What else. you just gotta love this!

Note 7 vs S7 Edge value difference

So I got a new contract with the S7 edge for 200$ CAD.
Here the note 7 is 1050$ + tax. I didn't use my S7 yet, I could sell it for 800$.
I'm really interested by the note 7 and I should have wait before getting my new contract, but now it's too late.
I love have a phone with tons of feature, useful or not, but still there is a difference of 300$ minimum here.
I cannot decided if I should go for the Note7 of Keep my s7 edge, I like the edge, but it is "boring" when compared to the note7
Help me please.

Only you can decide for yourself, if want the note then get it.
Not really a major decision here lol, just do what you want...its easy

Edge is definitely better value if you like the phone and will have better battery life since Note 7 is getting snapdragon in Canada. I'm in the same boat but I'm choosing Note 7 because the warping effect on the S7E from the abusive curve is too much for me and it's just so much more natural on the Note 7.
I'm deciding on either the s7 edge or note 7. they both have the same specs across the board, but the s7 has a better screen, less power drain, better battery, and isn't so huge.. having usbc means I need to carry an adapter with me now.
but the spen is useful for copying text where it's normally not possibe.. I'm so torn.. if the note 7 had a few hundred mah more battery I'd be so sold..
hope some more people respond here, definitely want to hear more opinions.

Here's something you won't learn from spec sheets - consider how the phones handle. I've held a friend's S7 Edge and I keep on accidentally tapping the edges, I've held a display unit Note7 and can somehow conclude that we won't accidentally tap the edges because they aren't as curved as the S7E's. I also tried touching the sides of both phone with my index finger and on the Note7 they're not responsive unlike the S7E's. Basically, I think the Note7's edge screen is curve done right.
Can't see how the screen is better on the S7/S7E.
USBC means it is future proof since that's where all devices are headed anyway, and I think we're already outside the initial stages of migration.
Note 7 isn't really "huge". Comparing it side by side to the S7E, the size difference is by no means big. Some might even mistake a Note7 for a S7E.
Having more battery capacity is indeed good, but 3,500 mAh is already substantial.
I am also debating between these two devices. I have a good data plan so I will most like buy it outright. Help me decide.

Quality feel (use of materials)

Rate this thread to express how you think the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 feels in terms of quality. A higher rating indicates that it feels premium and high-quality (attention to detail is high, manufacturing defects don't exist, etc).

Feels amazing in your hand, the materials are very high quality. Perfect size, weight, etc. Nice SD/SIM card tray. Nice solid S Pen. Nice buttons.
Son had it for a day. Slipped out of his pocket while sitting in the pickup. Landed on the carpeted floor of the pickup and the back-glass cracked at the edge. Would be a better quality phone if the back was metal, plastic, or carbon-fiber. Glass was the wrong choice from a quality perspective.
I love the way it looks, feels, performs. It's by far the best phone that i have used or seen. I have no complaints about the Note 7, Been using it for more then a week now. Am a
happy phone camper!
At this point i don't think i will even root this phone, I enjoy having the extra security features and all the option of stock rom of note 7 working the way they were intended. I usually rooted to improve the performance and have nano backup but i am happy with performance using Nova launcher and Black themes.. and there are other options for backup. Maybe i'll be a bit bored not having to fiddle around with the options of rooted phone with custom rom but i'll find another hobby!
Previous phones: iPhones, 4s, 5, 5s, and 6. Androids Pantex 920, Samsung Nexus, Note 3, Note 4, Note 5, LG G3
Note 7 Black Exynos version = thje best smartphone in the world.
Just take a look at some of my tests:
Note 7 (v2 replaced version - after one week of use) - Personal opinion and differences compared to the old version --- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiaj77xmu_M
Galaxy Note 7 - Scratch Test - Gorilla Glass 5. I even used a sharp metal screw --- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvtKlY1B9oE

Been using the S7 while I wait for the new Note 7 and...

I don't know if it is me but it just seem like the phone is just better. Either that or I'm just falling in love with it haha. Firstly the speaker is substantially louder. It's as loud as mt Note 5 running TekHD. Battery seems to last longer and I appear to have a lot less stutter/lag issues. Wondering if I should just return the S7 and get the S7 Edge and call it a night. Gorilla Glass 4 I feel is far superior simply because it is more scratch resistant. I would still use my Note 5 but I am tired of constantly running out of space.
Wanted to see if anyone has had similar experiences.
The curves are too pronounced, it ruins the viewing of the screen.

Agreed. Personally I hate the curves. Not only do I click stuff by mistake on edges, I can't find a good screen protector....
Note 9 better have flat screen version. Too bad it probably won't....
the screen in note 7 is just fine for me
The difference between the S7 edge and the Note 7 is the S-pen. I cant understand consumers who pay the extra for the S-pen then don't use it? The S7 is a very good mobile and with deals going on right now is a bloomin bargain. If you are happy with the S7 you could think about keeping it and saving your cash.

HTC 10 Display and camera speed

Hi
Currently I own an S3 and I want to buy a new phone but I can't decide between the Galaxy S7 and the HTC 10. To be honest I wish the HTC 10 was the better option because I love the design, the full aluminium body and the software. My last three phones were all samsung and I want a change. Plus I don't like the full glass body of the S7, it kinda feels like plastic in my hand and I always wanted a metal phone, it feels much more premium.
However when it comes to the HTC 10 I'm not convinced about the LCD display. If it had amoled I wouldn't even think about the S7 but sadly its not. LCD just feels like an inferior technology and I don't want it to feel like a downgrade from amoled. I must add that I have never seen the htc 10 personally only through videos. I saw the S7 display and its just breathtaking. How is the htc's display compared to the S7, would I be missing out much? I heard you can always see the backlight spreading through the screen a bit, especially at night on LCDs. If thats true thats just feel really low quality to me. The most important part of a phone isthe display I think and when I spend so much money I want it to be decent.
Also what about the camera speed? The S7 is instant, however on videos I saw the HTC 10 having a weird screen freeze after taking a shot every time, it just doesn't feel instant at all.
So the main dilemma:
S7 amazing display but glass build which I don't like. And I would love to try something else other than TouchWiz....
HTC 10: Amazing premium aluminium build, smooth software.
Please help I just can't decide

note10+ vs s20 ultra

Which is better besides camera and 120hz Display should I jump to get it
S10+ 5G
Do it!
Although stock is very low now on Ultra!
Ultra has the better camera easily. I'm switching from my note 10+ mainly for the camera and the upgraded refresh rate. I might miss my spen though
Ill be using the wqhd rather than 120 refresh rate

I looked at them side by side yesterday at ATT. I notice that Samsung has once again made the screen longer but narrower. So a regular image will be smaller with Larger black bars than on the Note. It’s also thicker. You can buy a note10+ on eBay or amazon for $800. The ultra after tax is close to double! Day to day I doubt one would feel the difference between the two. Even Samsung’s mid rage devices feel the same more or less. I reckon in day to day use the camera will be a little better in the ultra but only in certain situations.
I'm staying with note 10+ I like its wider screen and it's a beast
I do agree about making these screens bigger, but narrow....it blows. This trend needs to stop. It should have stopped and 18:9, we are at 20:9 now, it's dumb.
Except the super wonder device is better because it has a 100x spy cam that will draw alot of attention and probably force samsung to make it blurry or detect people or documents at 100x and slightly blur (via AI) sensitive info. I look for lawsuits eventually with people who will ruin it by looking into neighbors windows.

So, somehow a 100x zoom in a phone is bad, but a Nikon p1000 it even a camera with a short primary is okay? Try holding anything steady when zoomed in that much, it won't happen. And if you're not handheld there isn't going to be a difference in noticing a P1000 or a phone.
I have superzoom cameras and with 65X optical it's definitely interesting what you can do!
However, they aren't small enough to carry in a pocket. The common sense rule applies.
I live in the country, the zoom is great for counting points on a buck in the pasture. I'm no spring chicken, my old, tiring eyes thank easy to use zooms!
Looks ok
