Will fix with next build, it's just missing codename in anykernel3.sh

Kernel works as shared @TG on OOS, but it breaks offscreen gestures. Like O voor Camera and V for flashlight etc...
Maybe a look into?

I'll make different versions for oos and custom roms, it's broken on oos because of the fixes needed for custom roms.

Great job on this OP the battery life is pretty phenomenal with stormbreaker , but could you please fix the tap to show ambient display when the device is locked , whenever convenient? DT2W works perfectly , it's just single tap to show ambient display that isn't working . Thanks alot !

So why should people flash this over ElementalX?

Personally , the battery life has been far better for me on stormbreaker compared to elemental x , even though I set the latter to conservative at all times during the day . Also there's no lags or abrupt stutters with stormbreaker at all , it's smoother than the stock kernel and slightly more consistent in terms of performance than elemental x , atleast in my usage .

Hi, I have installed this kernel installed but I don't know if this is discontinued.
Thanks for your great work

Thanks will try that. Do I need to be rooted to see the benefits of battery life etc? As I am not.

Hi
I have a couple of questions regarding the kernel installation
Can I install the kernel on a stock rom?
If not If I decide to use a custom ROM, I will need to install the kernel before installing the custom ROM Right?
Currently, with Normal Usage (Reddit, Whatsapp, etc) I get around 5 Hrs SOT on 90Hz
Can I expect to see an increase in the battery performance if I decide to use this kernel?

Thanks for the reply.
My main issue is that Whatsapp I belive eats the better part of my battery and it causes an Issue.
So once I unlock my device(Before installation of kernel), all data is wiped correct?

Welcome to Kermit Kernel.
Kermit Kernel is intended to be installed on AOSP and uses Anykernel2 to do so. I wanted to share my work with all of you and also provide a smooth, customisation experience for you. This project was inspired by kylothow's work on AOSP and Kernels and big thanks to him for helping me in the beginning!

FEATURES
- Based on DQIC Sources
- Powersuspend 1.7
- Asynchronious Fsync from HTC
- Blu_Active with modifications and such
- Boeffla Wakelock Blocker
- djb77's latest toolchain optimised for our devices
- Turn CRC off or on

- A LOT of under the hood stuff for your user experience
I can take requests of course, don't be shy
I just want the kernel to be in favour of what seems good by users!
What is Anykernel?
You can skip this if you don't want to know how it works.
Kernels tend to have a fully built boot image ready, it just flashes everything and it may not PATCH the necassary files. This means you're gonna have to create a different boot image for different roms such S8 Ports, Note FE Ports and AOSP ROMS. Things such as compatibility maybe an issue also because new things may not be supported by old things (Newer RAMDISK on an older ROM).
That's when Anykernel comes into play. It only includes the zImage (actual prebuilt kernel), dtb (the instructions for hardware stuff), and patches used ontop of the stock ramdisk. It takes the previous/stock kernel, replaces dtb and zImage and then continues to patch the ramdisk. Voila, it's done. It makes it easier for the devs to work on the kernel and has better compatibility! It does come with it's disadvantages, It can't be flashed ontop of other custom kernels that have modifications in the ramdisk. The patch and ramdisk will cause some trouble because there interefering with each other alright!

How do I install this?
If you already have AOSP with it's stock kernel.
1) Reboot into recovery and flash it like normal
If you have AOSP with a custom kernel like PRIME, Prophecy or Primal.
1) Go to the AOSP ZIP you installed, extract boot.img from there.
2) Boot into recovery, flash the boot image. Don't forget to switch the option from ZIP to IMG if you can't find it in the directory you extracted it from.
3) Then go back to home screen in recovery, and go flash Excel Kernel
I really don't need to explain this in detail and such because if you got here it mean's you know how to install AOSP ROMS. It's pretty simple.

I'm very interested in using your kernel just wondering about the battery life and thermal issues. Whenever I play games it just heats up like crazy in aosp and battery life suffers coz of inefficiency. Just wondering if you've fixed these issues.
In AOSP, those issues are not gonna dissappear but you should see a notable difference. Theres things like hero-common and such I cant fix.

Ayy
Omg....Thermal issue has been pretty much fixed 0.0 however using stock settings did cause system shutdown when running geekbench. Needed to under clocked it significantly but it's so early so its amazing. Will use it the next couple of days and test for battery life
Alright, if you could tell me any sorta info related to the crash i can attempt to fix it

a few Misc questions
Hello,
What is typical battery life by default for the Kermit Kernel?
I'm not a gamer so don't do overclocking or highly intense graphics, for me good battery is essential, is there ways I can increase battery longevity?
Does the Kermit Kernel support fast charging by default or must it be enabled?
Does Kermit have support for VoLTE/HD voice and Wifi calling by default or can that be compiled in?
Lastly, does Kermit Kernel have support by default for the doubletap 2 wake feature (originally pioneered by the LG phones, the G2 I believe was first), or can it be compiled in?
Thanks.
Dave.
Hi,
First of great work! I'll be installing the kernel any minute now. I also wonder if it's possible to DT2W in the kernel. Have tried it myself but got lost fairly quick...
Keep up the good work!
Jules.
dt2w?
Hi,
I'd like to know how you atempted dt2w and where you got stuck?
DM me if you want.
What is the current status of kermit?
Thanks.
Dave.
It's in haitus
Phone dies for no apparent reason, usually twice a day. It's completely dead. I have to plug it in for the phone to respond and then I can turn it back on. Phone can be on 100% and be doing the easiest of tasks, and it will happen. Any help is appreciated.

Because i love ElementalX i am posting this @flar2 , don't think i want to troll or similar:
Your previous thread had been closed because you advertised your paid app. I just want to avoid this happening again now that you opened a thread in the development section
Keep up the great work and maybe edit your OP to post a quick tutorial how to flash the kernel without EX Kernel Manager
Thnx for making a thread Flar! Did you looked into overclocking possibilities (about the other day?)
Anyway, I'm rocking your Kernel since release (couple days ago) and battery backup, responsiveness and smoothness is awesome! :highfive:

Sorry guys, this place used to be fun, but I don't have time for XDA politics anymore. You can still get the kernel in my app.
Hey @flar2 I flashed the elementalX latest (1.01) with the latest PixelExperience rom and i noticed that it breaks the double tap to wake. I tried combinations of both the settings in the rom on/off, in your app on/off, mixture of both on/off, etc... I tried sweep to wake and all were not working. I restored back to stock PE kernel and doubletap2wake is working again. Apart from that it was quite snappy but i had to revert to stock PE kernel as doubletap2wake is important to me and is muscle memory. Cheers for your work

[KERNEL] C20 Kernel for Motorola Z3 Play (beckham) [OC]

C20 KernelHi all!
Here is my custom kernel for the beckham, it is based in the LineageOS SDM660 Kernel, with the fixes from @Jleeblanch
The aim of this project is to have a kernel with overclock capabilities in order to get the Snapdragon 636 more closer to the Snapdragon 660. The rest of the kernel will be remain untouched (or for the most part).
Features:
- CPU Overclocked Big clusger up to 2.45 ghz (default frequency set at 2.2 Ghz) Small cluster up to 1.9 ghz
- GPU model faked to Adreno 512, with this now games loads more optimized drivers aimed for the 512.
- For some reason CPU-Z detects the device as a Snapdragon 660 (I wouldn't call this a feature )

It usually depends on your device, but I managed to get a stable OC at max Frequency. Regarding bugs, the kernel is 95% similar to the one found in LOS, only things that have changed are the frequency table, GPU model, and some minor tweaks.
I have also made Stock rom compatible kernel with OC capabilities. Tell me guys if you want it as well!

You can flash it via TWRP or any tool that supports flashing zips
Does this kernel have the TTL patch compiled in?
Thank you nach0x very much for this Kernel!
I flash the Kernel for Stock ROM about 2 weeks ago and it works perfectly so far. I got almost the same result in Geekbench, but as I notice in this Kernel the default Governor is Performance unlike the one for the LinageOS, where the Governor is Interactive. Does it matter?
And GPU is not changed to 512 on Stock Kernel like you said for LinageOS Kernel
Hi, it's me again. I am surprised that no one else is showing interest in this wonderful kernel tweak.
In a meantime, LineageOS presents the official 18.1 ROM for Moto Z3 Play based on Android 11. I use it for a while with no issues at all, also update it 2 times through the system update.
I try C20 Kernel on this ROM but have some bugs, the SIM cards don't work, and Moto Gestures also.
So, I want to ask if someone can try to make a new OC kernel for LineageOS 18.1, PLEASE! I am not a developer but I'm willing to try it and test its stability.

XDDD
Can you say in short what does all those features mean to guy who is not an expert, in comparison to stock?
- OneUI and GSI build.
- Upstreamed from 4.19.190 to 4.19.191
- Enabled all Native Governers
- SElinux enforcing.
I read about SElinux enforcing I know it is security feature that I saw in ASOP rom on different device.
Also question about flashing. How do I do it, as it is not a fully compiled rom, just a kernel?
With Odin as AP?
I have already rooted my device with Magisk.
Thanks!

hey, sure I would be glad to elaborate
1: that this kernel working in both ONEUI based ROM as well as GSIs
2: Upstreaming kernel: in short words it about to making kernel better by merging latest changes
3: Governors are kind of profiles if you want performance you can use that governer, if want low performance and good battery life you can go for that, is up to you. its basically tweak CPU to work on full potential or on its lowest according to your governors
About Flashing I have mentioned steps here read them.

It is stock recovery, you must have custom recovery like TWRP in order to install.
So, it is not possible right now? There is no support for this device from twrp as I just checked. How did you manage to install it?
Same question. I'm dying to try this out!

Gapps Builds taken down temporarily cause they're a bit buggy. Hang tight! We'll squash them as soon as possible
Update! Gapps Builds are back now. Enjoy . Also, App launch times has been improved by upto 25% depending on the app. OTA available too
Hello. Does this ROM have no pulldown menu when in home screen? I am able to pull it down when on lockscreen, but not after I enter the pin. Is there an option for that?
Nevermind it suddenly started working
Geekbench scores are very low. Performance is ok.
GPU Performance is below stock too but at once it performed better than stock.
This is a very odd behaviour. I am using Atomix 44302-20220207-1444 Kernel. It seems like the device tries to limit power consumption even when I use the performance governor, so despite the maxed out frequencies, performance is underwhelming.
Any way to fix this?

Use the default Kernel. Performance is fine here. Also, are you using any sort of mods? If yes, clean flash.
(Irrelevant question) Did you take those screenshots from your device? ig you're from BD, right?

Performance is measured with numbers first. Then eyes. I'll check out how stock Kernel behaves once I'm done helping Marcel out. I like this ROM and it's very smooth. So I hope I can get back onto it as soon as possible.

Why the android version showing 12 inside of 12.1? But this rom is stable in smoothness than cherish OS from my experience.

It is 12.1/12L, use Castro app to check. Almost no roms actually show 12.1/12L in settings app for some reason
is offline charging animation working?
Hello! My phone is still running the original ROM. The developer tools already have the OEM unlocking option enabled and greyed out (see attached picture).
How can I make sure I have everything ready to install T-Virus and not brick my phone?
I have already checked the guide on https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/nokia-8-nb1-full-rom-installation-guide.4349525/
It is written that I need to have my phone unlocked and critically unlocked, how can I verify that?
Also, does this crDroid version include smart charging (stop charging when it reaches a certain percentage)? I checked some other videos and threads and it should be an option on the Miscellaneous tab. The screenshots on the first post did not have that option.
Many thanks in advance!

Check this link. The unlock tool will let you know if you have unlocked critical. As for smart charging, I think you'll have to use an app like Battery Guru.
Happy Flashing
crDroid 8.5 is now up!
This release will require T-Virus 2.0 . Check the flashing instructions before using the new release. Because of the new requirement, unfortunately, OTA won't work this time. This is only a one time thing
Changelog:
Update kernel with many backported features
Add EXFAT support
Fix some gcam issues (Use Greatness Gcam for best results)
Many vendor fixes
Updated many Hals

Thank you for your prompt reply!
I'll attempt to flash this as soon as I can unlock the bootloader. Are there any known issues to flash this alongside with orange fox recovery?

For now, use the attached TWRP (boot.img in main post). Orange fox may not work.
