Galaxy S9 notification delays - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

Hello,
I just got a S9 and updated it to Android 10.
Ive noticed my Gmail and Facebook Messenger notifications are usually really delayed or dont come through at all until I go into app.
Im not sure if this has been answered but Im hoping you guys might know what I should do.
I have enabled notifications for each app & enabled them to appear on lock screen.
In Gmail account I set notifications to "all". Also, under Inbox notifications "Notify for every message" is checked.
In "App Power Management": "Adaptive battery" is checked. "Put unused apps to sleep" is checked. Within "Apps that wont be put to sleep" I added Gmail. No option to add Messenger.
The Power Mode is set to "Optimized".
What else should I do to fix Gmail and Messenger notification delays?

Default Mail app not sending notifications from multiple accounts?

Hey there everyone, just wanted to see if anyone's experienced the same problems as I have.
So I have 2 email accounts with gmail, one personal and one work account. I've enabled both of these accounts in both the mail app and the gmail app, and set notifications to be true for both accounts in each app.
Whenever a new email is sent however, it doesn't seem like the default mail app sends any notifications. Another thing is that even when I go into the app and force a sync, the icon on Home will only show the unread count for only 1 of the accounts.
I am still rather confused as to whether 'Sync Automatically' has to be turned on along with either WIFI/Mobile Internet to be able to receive notifications? Do you need to have 'Sync Automatically' enabled all the time, or would an active WIFI connection suffice?
Thanks in advance!
*Update*
It seems the Gmail App works fine, but not the Mail app regardless of whether only one or both are running... any ideas?
Bumping this up...
Anyone experience any problems with the default mail notifications?

Are you using a gmail account?
Did you do any of the "Battery Saving" techniques? if yes, start there.
some things that were suggested in some of those links would disable/impair/hamper things like ActiveSync and such.
Are you checking the server manually or letting the phone check it automatically?
If your doing it manually you will get no notification, this drove me nuts to until I figured it out.
I noticed this started last night. Worked fine all day yesterday.

[Q] Official Facebook Push Notifications

For some reason, my Facebook application (the official one from the market) does not create any notifications when I receive a message, etc on Facebook. Only when I actually open the Facebook application does it realise I have a message and then creates a notification.
In Facebook -> Menu -> Settings I have Refresh Interval set to 30 minutes and Notifications checked. What could I be missing?
Thanks.
You're not missing anything. In my experience all FB apps, even the one on my iPhone, have this problem or at least that of inconsistent notifications. I suspect the FB API is pants.

Do you have a task killer/manager running that auto kills...?? If so make sure to exclude all instances of Facebook, even if there are duplicates, as this will stop notifications being diaplayed.
That could be, I'll set ATK to ignore Facebook and report back if it starts working. Thanks.

[Q] Proudctivity lock screen "issue"

I have set my lock screen to "productivity", so I can see my alerts, the "issue" is that my GMail app notifications do not appear, am I missing a setting somewhere or is this the same for everyone?
Well, I can only select MAIL in Settings, GMail is missing.. seems to be a missing Software Feature.. Maybe because GMail isn't a Sense-App?
g
Same for me, the option in settings allows you to only pick accounts set up in the Email app.
Another annoyance!

Question GMail - no notifications

Hi,
i don't get any gmail notifications in MIUI on F3.
I've already disabled powersaving on the apps "google" and "gmail".
I've also checked the notification inside the gmail app is set to "all".
Any ideas how to fix?
Thx a lot

Have you tried disabling MIUI power savings?
I notice GMail notifications are usually delayed compared to MIUI's built-in mail app or Outlook, that's because I believe GMail does not support push notifications for Gmail accounts.
@Medvosteri Locking don't fixes the problem.
@Nemix77 If you mean the app specific, i did.
Notifications are not delayed, they simply don't appear.. even after hours..
Gmail was working fine on my old Galaxy A50.. now i have a flagship killer without E-Mail notifications :/
Update: Seems a reboot after disabling power safeing on the Gmail App did the Trick...
