Queries! - Redmi Note 9 Pro (International Model) General and

Hi,
I purchased a Redmi Note 9 Pro Global/joyeuse 6/128 GB on 11.0.5 stable. Performed a debloat, using @gerega's method ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...ui-11-0-10-t4141253/post83192787#post83192787). It has an insane battery life (SOT 14 hrs) and a great cam.
Have a few questions:
1. Why is the RAM consumed never exceeds more than 4 gigs of 6?
2. Using weather app Yr.no, app works fine, but the widget at times stucks, fails to update despite permissions granted. Need to open the app to update weather/temp on the widget?
3. Wallpaper image when applied, displays the default on a reboot for a few secs....is it cause of non integrated to the theme engine? Anyways to fix it?
4. Any recommendations for a file explorer, fonts app, weather app (add free paid from play store).
5. Can it be made more snappier using the stock debloated ROM?
6. Any useful/practical tweaks and tricks?
7. Lastly can the CPU and GPU be overclocked?
Thanks again!

Is it possible to remove Wi-Fi and Mobile data restrictions on Xiaomi phones, as shown in the attachment?
If I uncheck either the app stops working... despite Set Data plan > Data usage and setting is UNCHECKED?
Thanks.

I find Twitter on the debloated ROM a bit slow, despite given all resources like autostart, none battery restrictions......
Any ideas why?
Thanks.

1. An Android 10/MIUI issue.
2. Dunno.
3. Dunno.
4. Cx file explorer.
5. Use EEU
6. CUSTOM ROMs.
7. CUSTOM KERNELs.
Your welcome...

1. Most probably the rest of the RAM is reserved by system processes that are cached in memory of it could be a bug in usage report
2. MIUI's aggressive RAM management restricts background usage thus the widget remains the same or blanks/greys out.
3. No idea. You shouldn't need to reboot the phone too often hopefully so the issue is trivial.
4. Can't make recommendations as I don't use any of these apps except for file managing I use FX file.
5. You should be able to debloat the stock/global ROM to free up some system resources, mainly RAM however, I doubt that this would result in significant improvement in UI responsiveness.
6. I'd recommend disabling MIUI crap/bloatware, sync, daemon services. If MIUI puts you at too much unease, I'd suggest flashing a custom ROM to get rid.
7. Nope

1. Any recommendations for an add free Fonts app?
2. Performed a debloat but still see cleaner and deep clean in notification, anyways to remove them?
3. Dual SIM have an affect on battery life/SOT decreases?
4. Is Accubatt Pro a useful app?
Thanks for the replies and recommendations am using Cx File explorer.

Is this normal for the battery at 100% charged to decline like here to 80%, with usage as shown in the attachment?
I get approx 1 hour SOT per 10% decline...is that fine. With brightness at 60% fixed. Location always ON?
Thanks.

A few questions about call recording:
1. Doesn't start automatically, is it possible to have options of incoming, outgoing, auto?
2. Does one need to tap the record icon each time?
3. Why does the carrier speak that this call is being recorded, which can be heard at the other end?
Thanks.

already use gravity box and even flymetools, not working.
I am using this rom and it has been very good and stable. However, I wanted to know if it possible to change the default homescreen page? How do I move the page. I do not want it between page A and page B.

Hi,
I tried to install this ROM but failed.
In TWRP log was written "updater process ended with error: 7".
What is the reason for his?
This is what I did:
1. Entered TWRP > Wipe > Advanced Wipe > selected System, Data, Cache, Dalvik/ART Cache.
2. Install > selected the ROM > swipe to install > got error "updater process ended with error: 7".
I'm using TWRP version 3.0.2.-1.
I used Xposed also with my MIUI. Does this has anything to do with this error?
Here is the link to my log if it helps.
http://www.filedropper.com/recovery_2
Thanks
Just install once again without wiping and it will work.

problems since going back to OOS

I used sultan's version of CM13 for 2 month and last week end i flashed OOS beta 7 and now i have several problems :
- My booting animation is neither the oneplus animation nor the one i flashed (the marvel/dc one, yes i reflashed it after flashing OOS), it is the word android. how can i change that?
- I can't flash Xposed : he tells me there is no space on the system partition and then the phone bootloop : i have a runing superSU 3.0.2-22 (the phone is rooted, ever app that uses root works)
- I have a zooper widget who doesn't load at startup (i have to opent the zooper app) and i checked, i allowe it to start at the start of the phone
Any idea on what i can do? i thought that maybe the kernel of sultan didn't get witched back to the original kernel when i flashed OOS and that causes problems
Friend, I will advice you tu flash Freedom OS 1.11 which is build on top of beta 7. Why I am saying this.
1. It allows to change the boot animation at the time of installation.
2. It will allow you to de boat the Google/oneplus pre-installed apps at the time of installation. That you can even do on stock beta 7 using titanium Backup app. That will resolve the problem you got while flashing xposed.
3. On beta 7 xposed wont work it will stuck on boot logo. So go to official xposed link and download the latest build, that will work.
4. Before installing freedom os I will highly recommend your too go through few last pages on its thread.

1. Camera is the same that you have on beta 7. Actually Freedom os is deboated stock oxygen with some extra tweaks like custom kernel, audio mods etc. Every thing is customizable there.
2. And yes they provide update as soon as newer build comes from oneplus.
3. This can solve all the issues you mentioned with the same taste of beta 7.

How to Save more battery in mi max

Hello everybody,
-I have bought lately used mi max 32GB (Hydrogen) on miui 9.5.2 global stable
-I use my phone for browsing internet and social media-no game-no calls(Data sim)
-I disables (all notifications-led lights-second space-quick ball-etc...)+battery saver+restrict background activity
-I only get 9 hours sot on 3g or 10 hours on wifi+4% or 5% battery drain in idle mode.So downclocking the cpu may help me to save battery
Question:
1-What can I do to save more power in miui 9?
2-I heard of ultra power saving mode is found in miui 8.How can I downgrade to it?Is it helpful?
3-What can I do to save more power using root (custom rom-custom kernel)?
Waiting your feedback
Up.....................................Up.................................................Up
You can't... Ultra power saving is present only with MTK SoC's (& it's still much behind SD). Either switch to older MiUI 8.2~8.3 or to costume ROM.

Thank you for your reply,But I have two questions:
1- How can I downgrade to miui 8 without unlocking bootloader?
I`am now on Global beta Miui 9 -8.4.19
2-How Can I achieve 0% power consumption in idle mode without root?
1. The same way you installed that one & from the same place, just pick older version & download it.
http://en.miui.com/download-302.html
2. You can't it sucks 0.3~0.5% per h.

1-I installed miui 9 Global beta 8.4.19 using updater app.Can I install miui global stable 8 using the same way?
Because Some people say you should use mi flash +edl mode
2-I used before another phone(alcatel pixi 4 power)+greenify without root ,and I could achieve 0% or 1% at maximum in 15 continuous hours in idle mode
I don`t know why it doesn't work well in miui 9?
note:-I disables (all notifications-led lights-second space-quick ball-etc...)+battery saver+restrict background activity
3-Is there any app that can disable everything in mobile (calls-sms-notifications-wakelocks-background apps-any other feature)?
Because I don`t use mobile at all for at least 15 hours daily!!

Which you can get when you: unlock boot loader, root, flash a costume ROM & take a control of the phone. In the meanwhile address your complaints to the one's in charge on the official MIUI forum. This is costume ROM's community and we wouldn't make our efforts if we were really satisfied with what OEM's offered.

A) Nope. So called "ultra power saving mode" is tied to vendor not MIUI or Android version.
The MIUI 8.3 is based on the Android 6 and whose one of the better firmware releases regarding battery life. That's why I recommend it in the first place.
B) it's MTK own frequency scheduler set of restrictions ment to extend the battery life but in generally their SoC's are less efficient than Snapdragons. Only Sony has an rather good "Ultra power saving mode" included in their firmwares and disregarding of the SoC vendor.
C# Unlock the boot loader, root, make recovery & kernel backup with flashify (or something similar), install latest unofficial TWRP by nijel8, flash the unofficial LineageOS 14.1 by nijel8, latest firmware & Open Gapps (micro or pico), install the script of your choice from power/performance thread (post no#5) & let it boot. In settings enable the hotplug option, reboot and enjoy. This end's this discussion for me.

[ROM][GSI] Official Android Q

BETA Version
Ready to try?
I start....
https://developer.android.com/preview/gsi-release-notes
Is very difficult to make it stable....
Wifi connection and screen lock password issue,
second reboot impossible....
But nice to see this evolution.
Stay tuned, work on it....
Booted googles Android Q gsi. Everything works fine, mobile data, calls, Bluetooth etc. Only secured WiFi is messed up can't connect. Reboot bootloop issue is fixed by deleting vendor/app/
Steps I did was,
-have a fresh install of miui 10.3 (from xiaomi.eu) on to system
-flash Q gsi to system partition on twrp
-after gsi flash, reboot twrp then mount vendor and through twrps file manager locate vendor/app and delete it.
-reboot
And done bootloop after restart issue should be home.
Things I found are sounds are very static and distorted I got it fixed my flashing viper4android and you'll need root for that. Use magisk 19. Also I'm using global version. I'm sure chinese version will be fine but again I'm not sure

Looks like incall voice is buggy too. I can't hear the person on the other end. And system notification sounds are still distorted like staticky.

No need to port as it will be a GSI

Yeah I forgot about that but as this device is not specifically supported for a beta, it might have issues like previous GSI betas.

The official support would be nice. I understand the mi9, but i don't see the point i mix 3 5g. the user base is too low. It went on sale only week ago. 5g is still few years ahead from global adoption. Mix 3 4g would be better choice for beta testing.

Same here, tried to get it to work but constantly bootlooped
Anyone tried the latest beta?
But...by the end of the year Android Q will be officially avaible as OTA update for mi mix 3 and other Xiaomi phones as confirmed by them. So why messing things up with unifficial GSI "just to try" a new release? I'm not blaming anyone who wants to, but it is really necessary? It's so terrible to stay on MIUI rather than stock or so bad to stay on Pie (both stock or custom) rather than on a newer OS version?
Personally i prefer a stable software (or an almost bug free one at least) than an unstable one with possibly many non working/partially working features. What do you think?
P.s before the bull**** storm by someone:
1) Yes, i used custom roms before on other devices, i liked them and they always made my devices better in terms of performances and upgraded them to the latest OS avabile when the official support ended. (Galaxy SII Plus, Galaxy Tab S2, Honor 8)
2) You can do whatever you want with your device, i really couldn't care less, but wer're on a forum, i'm just taking a conversation to hear other opinions about GSI (or other custom roms) for this devices wich i found to be very fast, complete and battery friendly even without them.
3) Thank you
I couldn't care less

yes. twrp is needed, you can give it a try, but do backup first, remove magisk and all modules. but recommended is clean flash.
I downloaded from mi forum
So far so good everything works like a charm but battery cant last whole day
On 4.4 kernel i can archive 2 day straight without charging, on the same battery unit now

So I've testing ever since and THERE'S HUGE BUG
gyroscope isn't working properly, auto rotate works fine (magnetic sensor)
But when i play games with gyro uses such as PUBG it drift away so hard
Perhaps its caused by broken persist.img ?
Or it caused by the rom itself?
Btw has anyone tried custom kernel in this rom? Core control kinda fu*ked up it closes core 3 even when thermal protection disabled

Hello,
I did check gyroscope, its working fine. You can see attached pic. but i dont pubg. I have used various custom roms. i usuallly get 5.30 to 6.30 hrs SOT in customs roms. but in miui roms, mostly i got 5hrs of SOT. but just of camera and stuff, i am using miui. As portrait mode and camera optimization is best in MIUI.
No custom kernel i have tried yet.

I guess so, maybe its Pubg related problem.
Btw for core problem, i use AKT tweak and it solved
Using battery saving mode from AKT give me futher SOT and insane idle time. Highly recommended
And lastly, it seems a lot of apps not being optimized (doze), can be fix by install hidden miui settings app and manually optimize those apps

hello,
.you need to enable onscreen navigation to show full screen gesture option.
you can manually do it by
root explorer (you need to modify system file)
1. Go to /system/build.prop and add qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
