Widevine automatically downgraded from l1 to l3. - POCO M2 Pro Questions & Answers

It was working on day before yesterday..
yesterday night when i tried to play video on amazon prime... it was not playing anything in HD.
i just thought may be content is not available in hd... then i tried multiple movies.. but issue was same..
I downloaded DRM Info from play store... and crap... it's is now L3.
image link manually pasted as xda is not allowing links.
https:// ibb.co /yfzW4WW
Thing I've tried so far to bring it back to l1...
- tried rebooting multiple times .... no luck
- tried clearing cache of DRM Info and amazon prime... as expected no change
- at last cleared data by rebooting into stock recovery -> rebooted to system -> download DRM Info from playstore -> still... L3:crying:
I search whole internet, for any new firmware updates. but found nothing... instead a similar issue for redmi note 9 pro.
I think just because it is almost same device, it has same or similar bug.
but RN9P bug was fixed in an OTA. but I don't see any coming for POCO m2 pro (gram).
i haven't even unlocked the bootloader... just to use Widevine L1.
I think i need to wait for new OTA update.
Have anyone ever encountered this issue and fixed it?
Will unlocking bootloader and flashing custom rom fix it? (i don't think it's possible now.. tell me if i am wrong).
edit 12/07/2020: fed of trying fix this crap... no way to fix it. tired waiting for new OTA
pretty sure that not gonna get L1 again...
unlocked bootloader... flashed custom rom.

Hi,
Mine still at L1 . Have you checked with DRM Info by Android Fung.
I am on Miui Global 11.0.3.0 stable

yes using com.androidfung.drminfo from play store...
also tried with multiple other apps. it is now permanently showing L3.
may be i got the unlucky unit.
now i have rooted my device.. because the only reason to stay on stock is gone.

Try reinstalling rom. Go to updater app and choose download latest package.

yes tried already... still l3.
in this process i also learned that image file downloaded by the internal updater has different hash then public images.. available at xiaomifirmwareupdator . com
although the name is same..
also tried by replacing firmware file from internet. and again updating.
still no luck...
although i have unlocked my bootloader now..
first thing i have done is backup persist.. and other partitions. just in case..

The only thing is reflash complete fastboot rom, if you are unlocked then flash fastboot rom and lock yourself you will get L1

Thanks for your reply...
I thought about that after unlocking the bootloader. but as all the methods just didn't worked before unlocking, i have doubt about it.
and i have strong feeling that it will still dont work.
reason i don't want to lock is that, i will have to wait for 1 month or more to unlock it again..
by the way isn't it same
- downloading latest update from updator in settings. and update by rebooting.
- unlock bootloader, flash fastboot rom. then reboot.
because both the update file is significantly large. i think it's not gonna do anything...
it will be better if I get L1 without locking bootloader . which doesnt seems to happen soon, unless someone creates a magisk patch or finds a loophole to do that, which will be pretty awesome.

in latest miui 12 update there's a way to update WideVine L1 certificate.
Try flashing miui 12 and updating WideVine Certificate from security settings.
Let me know if it works

mine downgraded too, tried various magisk flash files but no luck if anyone finds a solution please reply
---------- Post added at 10:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:54 AM ----------
i am on miui 12 and it does have a certificate download button in fingerprint payments but when i click on download certificate button it says "error-10009" and nothing download please help, i have unlocked bootloader with custom recovery and magisk too.

we are unable to update widevine L1 from security settings its due to bcoz our device is running 2 months old security patches.. I think the problem will be shortout once our device get latest month security patch update

Billion Capture Plus
Flipkart phone with SD625
There's also a global version now for only 65€ that can be found via Chinese resellers which is a bargain.
According to 4pda the Bootloader seems unlocked since a user was alble to flash mido TWRP with no working touchscreen unfortunately.
The phone has been updated to Oreo with Camera2api enabled which makes Gcam ports work well
Unfortunately there no official downloadable firmware, unbrick guides or custom ROMs, which is surprising considering the great custom ROM community India has
Gcam with everything working except Slowmo:
*Works only on Android 7.1.2
https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gcamera/NoHex_MGC_6.1.021_xcam_5_beta20.apk
According to a user at 4pda forums mido TWRP can be flashed but there's no working touchscreen.
Since there's no way to find the Oreo update zip file we can't get the display driver yet
Be careful - unlocking the boot on this device leads to impossibility of OTA update to 8.1. (status 7 in recovery). Fought with this phone for almost a month, and no lucky chance to catch the update in "mid-air"(while it's being downloaded) or make the updater's apk to download the firmware in other place instead of data (owner: root). Still going for a vicious circle: we don't have root to pull the OTA update out of the phone to make a custom recovery... And we don't have TWRP to root it.
We didn't exactly flash mido TWRP, just booted it. Hardware buttons are working though, but again we don't have CWM.

I'm not Russian so I'm using Google translate to understand .
Should I upgrade to Oreo any downsides?
Can you upload the Google camera config files?
How can we make twrp work?
Isn't there any firmware dump tool for Qualcomm phones?
If we can get the stock boot.img we can have root without TWRP
Also has anyone tried flashing treble ROMs via fast boot?
Edit: Found this tutorial
What I wanna say is: Dumping the stock boot.img
Modify it with root via the Magisk app
Flash the modified boot.img in fast boot in order to have root

Interesting tutorial, but the program in video saves files in unknown format. What do we do with them after we got dump?
1. Oreo update contains one little bug - it slightly interrupts the touchscreen's work. No noticeable in everyday usage, but still having its place. Can't attach the example 'çause I'm newbie here.
2. The only way to build up the TWRP is to get kernel source of stock rom (boot.img). The problem is that we can't pull it out of device - this partition is hidden under "root" privileges.
3. You can dump anything with ADB, but there is no way you see the most important partitions like data, system, boot, recovery and so on.
4. Nope, see second line;
5. No, because the chance to catch a brick (to get an empty device which won't load the system/recovery/adb/fastboot) is too high.

So far we can't see another ways to get TWRP or root. Couple of configs (remove space in the end of links):

Google Camera works pretty fine, especially on 8.1. But the seventh droid has fancy photos too. Search for the gcam on the 4pda thread, there are some examples of Google Camera photos.

Any Custom Recovery for Billion Capture Plus??
Is there any working Custom Recovery available for Billion Capture Plus (4GB+64GB model). I have tried some available recovery from TWRP and OrangeFox and it stuck in Boot screen where it just show "Billion logo and powered by Android". In this mode if I connect to my PC and using fastboot I can still access mobile and whatever I try to flash it is not working.
Any help in getting Custom Recovery or Original Bootloader so that I can use my mobile will be helpful for me.

No Netflix HD on Redmi Note 8 Pro - after update on Android 10

Hi guys,
I've been waiting for the Android 10 update so I can watch Netflix in HD, that did not come up, so I've manually updated to this: MIUI Global 11.0.2 Stable, 11.0.2.0 (QGGEUXM) - Android 10 QP1A.190711.020
I've checked on the Netflix app, but the streaming quality is still SD. I've deleted the app data, I've tried different internet connections, I've reset the device, I've reinstalled the app but nothing worked.
I've also tried with older versions of Netflix, still it does not work. When I check the Playback Specification WIDEVINE shows as L3 for some reason, it should be L1.
Can someone please help me with this?
It didn't work at first for me. But uninstalling and re-installing the app fixed it.

same goes here, I received the update via OTA and when I checked Netflix it still doesn't stream in HD. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app and did a factory rest but there's no difference as the streaming is still SD.
clear Netflix app cache and try again. it is clearly mentioned in android 10 notes.
For me clearing cache doesn't help. It's still SD.

I'm sorry but I have only updated from the MIUI Updater by downloading latest package and force applying it. I've never attempted it your way. Do I have to create downloaded_rom folder in default emulated/0 path or somewhere else? Also, do I have to flash it from the bootloader or what? My phone is unrooted just so you know. Please tell me if there will be any negative implications of this.

Downgrade from ColorOS12.1 to OOS11 EU OP7T - Please, help me. :)

Hi everyone!
I need help, that's why I registered on this forum.
I have OnePlus 7T and I upgraded to ColorOS12.1 from this video. Unfortunately, this is a beta with Chinese menus and I don't like the new firmware at all. I would like to go back to the original OOS11 stable firmware for Europe, but i don't know how to do it. I tried MSM and ADB via CMD, but can't unlock Bootloader.
I am asking you for help, because I cannot use the phone and I no longer have the strength to look for a solution to the problem myself. Thank you in advance for any help.
Sorry for my English.
Best regards
KamilFromNorth
Can I count on help, I really care about solving the above problem? Please.
Ok, the topic can be closed, I went back to stock rom OOS11 according to this tutorial. First I struggled with ADB, Fastboot, Google Android drivers and versions, and finally Qualcomm and the latter was causing problems in MSM. After updating the Qualcomm driver in Win10, MSM ran without errors and uploaded a new rom, version 10 for Europe, and then the phone update to 11.

I also updated it to that version, and if I was able to return it to the global ROM, the only thing is that now the gyro sensor is inverted. When I activate the automatic rotation all the applications work backwards. I've tried everything and can't get it to work. If I go back and install the ColorOS version, the automatic rotation works fine again, but unfortunately, since that version has bugs, it is not comfortable to use it for daily use. We will have to wait if it manages to solve this problem. Greetings!

Have you tried the auto gyro sensor, is it working fine?
True, I also have a problem with the gyroscope. I also noticed today that it does not preview a photo in the GCam, there is a black screen. I wonder, why put tutorials with beta roms, that are unstable and later create only problems that can't be fixed ?!

No, just use earliest oos10 msmtool for global
Thanks, I thought so too, but preferred to ask. There will be time, so I will get to work and let you know if it has helped. The worst thing is that I have already removed MSM, ADB, Fastboot and drivers.

You can flash persist.img only if you have your own backup of persist.img. Dont even think to flash someones persist. It's will break your fingerprint
@marsian4uk Thanks for the info, do you have any idea, how to fix auto rotation?

I know one way but you can lose widevine level. And there is a chance to broke fingerprint. At least, one guy broke his fingerprint when he use this method
Anyway I advice you to make backup of your persist.img (even if it broken, because in future you can fix this)
Found this instruction few days before.
In my case everything is good (except widevine level). So, let's start:
I extracted my persist partition, hex edited the lsm6dsm_0_platform.orient back to what was on OOS 11 and flashed it back. Orientation, sensors and fingerprint working fine.
Caution to whoever tries to replicate, you might hard brick your phone if you do something wrong.
Here are the correct values:
@marsian4uk
Thank you for the good intentions, but I don't know how to do the above, I don't know anything about it.
What is the consequence of non-working this "widevine"?

You will be not able to watch Netflix in full hd
Same problema here!!! in global rom.
@marsian4uk Today I downgraded from OOS11 to the first OOS10 room on OP7T and it did not work, the application orientation is still bad, the camera also has a menu rotated by 90 'and takes photos and videos in the same way. If you have time and feel like it, I would be grateful for tips on how to make the above changes - I don't care about Netflix, because I don't use it on my phone anyway.

Question Vivo X80 Pro Firmware Rollback file

Hello Vivo X80 Pro community,
I'm having issues flashing the rollback file from the Android 13 Developer Preview: https://developer.vivo.com/doc/detail?id=120

My guess is that the hyperlink is linking towards a W30 ROM instead of a W20 ROM. PD2185F_EX_A_12.0.12.5.W20.V000L1-update-full.zip.
Does anyone have a rollback file for the W20 version of the X80 Pro that they can upload to androidfilehost or Google Drive please?
I heard 12.0.11.2 is the best version to do a bootloader unlock so I'm hoping someone has this one, but right now I'll be happy just to go back to Android 12.
Thanks in advance!
it's best to write to Vivo. I couldn't find anything on the internet. Vivo linked an incorrect file.

This was the A13 file I used to update successfully, so it is likely that PD2185F is my model number.

Would you still happen to have the file you used for the rollback? I have tried to factory reset and it still did not help with the boot issue. I've also reported this to their support and they are working on a fix, but I am not sure how long it would take.
Edit - They fixed the link for the rollback file. I will now try to unlock the bootloader.
Edit 2 - I tried flashing unlocking the bootloader but it seems like it cannot be unlocked due to the June security patch. I am still hoping someone here has the 12.0.11.2 version firmware and it works to flashback...

Thanks! I will try resetting tonight or tomorrow if I have the time.
I do want to root (been using rooted Android since the Kindle Fire -> Galaxy S3 -> G2 -> V20 -> OP3T -> OP5T -> OP7T), but I seem to be surviving without root after blocking Ads through using AdGuard on private DNS settings.
Not being able to freeze apps on Titanium Backup is a bit of a pain but my banking apps work perfectly is pretty good upside.

Development Android 14 Beta Program DP 1

We don't recommend installing this on your main device, and especially if you're not familiar with development or alpha/beta testing. There are quite a few known issues right off the bat:

Developer Preview 1
WLAN malfunctions in certain scenarios
Connection fails when casting to a TV display
Red screen is seen when switching from Guest mode to Owner mode in certain scenarios
Manual connection fails after the phone is disconnected from the tablet
WeChat calls may not ring with Bluetooth headsets
Red screen flashes when creating a new calendar
Screen freezes when taking picture with the front camera in WhatsApp
Which devices support the preview?
OnePlus 11 (all variants except carrier-branded e.g. TMO/VZW)
Where can I get the preview? Before installing, be aware that installing a developer preview carries a risk of bricking your phone. Make sure you know what you're doing, and backup your files/media before proceeding. Also ensure your battery level is at least 30% and you have at least 5GB space left on your device.
Refer to the forum threads for more information:
OnePlus 11:
Developer Preview 1
Can I revert to the stable version of OxygenOS?Yes, please read the forum thread of your device as linked above for detailed instructions. Rolling back will completely wipe all your data, so please take a backup before proceeding.
Below is the rollback/downgrade packages for the OnePlus 11. Make sure you choose the correct rollback package for your device and region. We are providing these links purely for your convenience, as rolling back isn't natively supported by our app. After downloading the correct rollback package, move the file from the "Downloads" directory to the topmost directory of internal storage (the same directory that the "Downloads" folder is in). You may also have to rename ".jar" to ".zip".
Then, open Settings -> About device -> Version and tap "Build number" 7 times. This will enable Android's built-in "developer mode" (you might have to enter your phone's PIN/password too). Once this is done, "Local upgrade" will once again be visible in Settings -> About device -> Software update -> top-right button. It it doesn't show up, download & install OPLocalUpdate_For_Android13.apk, and use that to install updates locally.
Rollback packagesThe following packages will rollback your device to Android 13, and will wipe all your data. Note that these rollback ZIPs will take you back to A.09 even though the latest OOS13 stable version at the time of writing is A.10. These are not the packages you should download if you're looking to update to Android 14/U.
OnePlus 11 / Rollback packages :
OnePlus 11 NA Version (A.09)
OnePlus 11 IN Version (A.09)
OnePlus 11 EU Version (A.09)
OnePlus 11 GLO Version (A.09)
Thumbnail and image credits: Google/AOSP/OnePlus
Source: Oxygen updater/OnePlus firum
Rollback packages can be very helpful to convert CN Modele to IN, EU or GLO and also to be flashed to solve softbrick devices.

The rollback packages are very fresh, so untill someone try, it is difficult to say.
But theoretically it could work. At least with 2551 you will be able to get full OTA updates

I don't understand why you called it "Google 14" - it just makes no sense.
Thanks.
Hey finally I can convert my phone back to the US firmware.
My OP 11 is stucked/rebooting in fastboot mode after flashed 14 beta EU. Booting to black screen. Can reboot to fastboot mode.
Tried to repaired via Fastboot Enhance and roll back package with no success.. I have to ignore some partinations. Any solutions?

Sorry for not making myself clear, I mean, downloading the apk from the forum and take it to a CN color os device and forcefully "downgrade" it to the 13 ROM - could it be even possible?
Or forcefully for to DP1 NA first and then, down?
