Finger print/face ID and swipe to unlock. - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Questions & Answers

Hello all,
I have my note 10 plus setup to unlock with finger print and or face ID. The annoying part is that after "unlocking" the phone using the finger print reader or face ID I still have to "swipe to open". Is there a way to bypass this extra step.
On my mate 30 pro I get straight into the phone after unlocking using face or finger print ID.
Cheers,
Yves

fingerprint not detecting sometimes

OP3 finger print is really fast but sometimes I just can't it to get it work, once it doesn't work it'll not work at all and then I have to unlock using Pattern
Does anyone have this issue?
I found that if on lockscreen there is a lock symbol it won't open by fingerprint. If there is a fingerprint symbol then it works
Not to worry!! While you are registering a finger..... u have to completely register each corner of the finger print.....only then it works from however u put ur finger on it!! I experienced it many times too!!!
Just registry 1 finger 2 times...thats all
But it works always except when there's a lock icon on lock screen.
If there's a fingerprint scanner symbol it works 100%
it wont work with wet finger, wipe your hand
When you register a finger, you have to put all kinds of different parts of the fingertip on different parts of the fingerprint scanner, so that the scanner "knows" your finger in all possible positions. That is what the lenghty procedure is for.
Yeah I've done all kinds of way, rolled it, left, right, top, down.
Does anyone know why there's a lock symbol sometimes on lock screen instead of fingerprint symbol

Fingerprint Problem May Be?
Hi,
Sometimes my fingerprint is not recognized by fingerprint scanner. I have registered two fingerprints for the same finger. Still sometimes it does not recognize.
Is it because still some area is left which is not recognized? When it is not recognized and i put my center of finger on scanner, it recognizes.
Is it fine? Also is it fine if it doesn't recognizes if only a part of sensor is touched by finger. I am using fingerprint sensor first time so little bit skeptical.
I think i am testing it too much just to confirm if it is fine and somehow able to make it fail at some area of my finger. :silly:
Please help.
Please help me guys.

It requires pin after a reboot, then you should be able to use the fingerprint reader until the next reboot.

Its because of security or you can use require pin on boot and it will take bit long for booting
But what about the lock symbol and finger print symbol on the lockscreen, has no one observed this yet?
I'm unable to attach pictures as in XDA website to attach images it is asking me url

Been using OP3 FP scanner from last one week. I have 4 Fingers registered it works without any problem. Clean you FPS
I've been having an issue where I would take the phone out of my pocket and the fingerprint scanner wouldn't even vibrate when I touched it. After trying several settings I started putting my phone in my pocket with the screen facing out instead of towards my leg. I think the fingerprint scanner would get activated while rubbing up against my thigh. So far I can tell it's working fine. Everytime I take it out of my pocket it recognizes my finger right away. Also I noticed less battery drain.

I saw it. Often when i unlock using fingerprint the phone gets locked automatically 1 second after unlocking, than the symbol is a lock and i have to use the pattern. Then there is a text something like "For improvement of safety, a pattern is required" really annoying

The HUAWEI Nova Plus Fingerprint Reader Feature Is Just That Much More Amazing

I know you must have tried to lock the screen by fingerprint, but have you tried to lock Apps to enhance your information by fingerprint reader?
Not only this, you could also slide your finger on the fingerprint reader and you can enjoy some of the unique conveniences it provides.
Amazing, right? Today I'll show you the whole support of Nova Plus for fingerprint recognition.
Using fingerprints to unlock the screen
I'm sure that you have used fingerprint unlock a lot. It's simple to set up and then it's easy to use fingerprints to unlock the screen. You never have to worry about forgetting your password and you never have to worry that someone else will be able to see your personal information. Setting up the fingerprint reader is a must.

Accessing the safe or the app lock using the fingerprint reader
Everyone has secrets they don't want to share with others, even if they are your closest family members. Does it feel one hundred percent secure to use the fingerprint unlock to access the safe or the app lock? Now, not only can you easily unlock it, but you don't need to worry that your password will be discovered by others, it's that great.

Fingerprint touch controls
This function does not need to verify your fingerprint data to work. All you need to do is to touch or slide your finger on the fingerprint reader and you can enjoy some of the unique conveniences it provides.
On the Settings screen, touch Fingerprint ID. In the Touch and hold gesture area, you can turn on a switch to enable the corresponding function.
Take photo/video: When you are on the camera viewfinder screen, press and hold on the fingerprint reader to take a picture.
Answer call: When you have an incoming call, press and hold on the fingerprint reader to answer the call.
Stop alarm: When an alarm is going off, press and hold on the fingerprint reader to turn off the alarm. In the Slide gesture area, you can turn on a switch to enable the related function:
Show notification panel: Slide down with your finger on the fingerprint reader to access the notification panel, double press to clear notifications, and slide up to hide the notification panel.
Browse photos: When viewing photos full screen, slide left or right with your finger on the fingerprint reader to change between pictures.

swipe to unlock - bug?

Hello dear XDA friends,
i've bought Samsung Galaxy s9. The phone is really great, however..
I've configured "unlock by fingerprint" and "unlock by pin - it was required".
After reboot, when i use only fingerprint sensor everything works perfectly. I touch fingerprint sensor, phone unlocks, but as soon as i use unlock by pin, my phone adds one additional layer "swipe to unlock". From that forward i have to swipe to unlock even if i use fingerprint sensor. It's very annoying.
My question is: can i disable "swipe to unlock" screen?
My phone was updated to Android 9.
What do i until now?
1. Wiped cache

Verify your identity prompt on all banking apps

Whenever I open my banking app I get a fingerprint prompt the screen goes dark and asks you to use your fingerprint to verify your identity it's really annoying and I've tried but can't find a way to remove it, it never happened on my note 8!
Turn off finger print then.
On some apps the fingerprint screen will pop up and darken the screen so it can show the information about the finger print scanning
do you use facial recognition? with my Note 9 due to Iris scan it basically let me in unlocking that way as it is secure, but with facial recognition on the Note 10 I was having trouble getting to use Google Pay and other secure apps, requiring extra security in the form of fingerprint or pin, I'm guessing due to the removal of Iris scan (my biggest disappointment) you need to either use fingerprint or the pin if you want to use secure stuff.
Are you running your app within the secure folder? Maybe that's verifying you before running the app?
Banking apps always require some autentication when accesing, as per security reasons, they log you out every time you leave the app

Not understanding.
If you want the fingerprint prompt off. Then turn off finger print in your bank app.
Also is it a finger print login or samsung pass login?

I do understand but I want my fps on but without the prompt like I said I never had this issue with my banking apps on my note 8
It's a finger print log in from the banking app
I think they are having the same issue I am with one of my apps. The app allows for fingerprint verification, however the setup requires you to type in your password, however in I can't do that as the fingerprint overlay is full screen abs I cannot enter my password.
What I would like is just a spot on the screen that says here put your finger here.... not a whole screen dedicated to the process.

Understanding the proper use of Face Unlocking

With the Face unlock you need to have some kind of primary unlock. After I have the Face Unlock, why is it asking for my pattern unlock? Sometimes I see the silly face and sometimes I see the lock
What are your thoughts?
Thanks

When is it asking for pattern unlock? If you are using for secure payments like Google Pay, it asks for pattern or fingerprint unlock as face unlock on 7T is not secure....Face unlock on 7T can only be used to unlock the device and nothing else...
Here's an example I just did. The phone is on my desk and dark. I picked up the phone, double tapped to wake the phone to the lock screen. I see the lock on the screen instead of the face icon

Using your example, when I double tap the screen it awakens the ambient display, showing me the time and any notifications that are on the screen. Also, the fingerprint scanner is active and lit up. I believe this is the intended behavior. The double tap simply wakes the ambient display.
If you want face unlock to kick in, you should press the power button.
One Plus told to switch to a pin instead of a pattern and it seems to work better. But you suggestion of using the power button is also on par, Thanks!
This problem also frustrates me. The issue is that the time out for face unlock to search for a face is WAY TOO SHORT.
