What is this?
An AOSP based ROM, with gapps included and gesture support (pocket, hand wave, pickup).
Based on Android 11.0
Notes:
1. If you want to root then copy the stock boot from the latest stock rom into internal and use magisk to patch it, then flash the patched boot in bootloader (fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img)
2. I will try to provide monthly patch updates and fixes as needed, don't ask for ETAs... I usually aim for the 5th of each month or whenever Google releases their patches
3. If you are coming from a previous version, I highly recommend clean flashing, otherwise you will probably have issues
Bugs:

3. In bootloader enter: 'fastboot reboot fastboot'
4. After we reboot you will see 'fastbootd', enter 'fastboot flash system system.img' (extract the system.img and put it in the folder you're in
5. enter 'fastboot reboot recovery'

2. After we reboot you will see 'fastbootd', enter 'fastboot flash system system.img' (extract the system.img and put it in the folder you're in
3. Reboot
There is now a toggle to add SuperSU on boot in Phh Settings > Misc:
Just enable it and reboot. (Keep in mind it breaks safteynet, if you need to use a banking app, disable it from settings and reboot)

For those who want stock camera with 48mp support on back and 16 on front
1. Download ANX camera from here along with the 48mp addon
2. flash in magisk both modules
3. Reboot
4. Give ANX camera all the permissions in app info
5. First time might crash then re-open

@phhusson for his work on GSI (donate to this man, he works on dozens of devices), he worked closely with me to get everything working!
Enjoy!
P.S.
I am not going to add any custom features from other roms so please don't comment about that!

Thank you @PecanCM.
You are really fast. :highfive::highfive:
Yay! FINALLY! We love you Ron
Review: Processing...
Awesome @PecanCM!
Thanks for bringing AOSP Nougat 7.0 to xm!
Smooth and functional for an alpha release!
Thank you!! Gonna test it now!
Thanks for new taste of Android!
Tips:
- Launching persistent TWRP not supported. Only built-in 2.8
So if you have adopted sdcard you can't restore backup.
To fix flash CM13 kernel.
- OpenGapps for 7.0 here
- Feature spotlights here
- File manager in Settings > Storage finally can install APK's, useful for first boot.
- To use 2 apps at same time hold and drag thumbnail in Recents
- Double-tap on Recents works like Alt+Tab (like long press in CM)
- In dev options new option to force move all apps on adopted storage

Thanks for confirming.

can you please share cm13 kernel?
Look likes our XM always infront of the other ..
Tried!
Everything's working fine, except:
1. Camera not working.
2. No live wallpapers.
3. Music app crashing every time.
Does anyone have success flashing GApps? On Opengapps wiki is stated that it needs additional ROM patching to disable APK Signature Scheme V2.
---------- Post added at 22:47 ---------- Previous post was at 22:44 ----------
BTW, if FOTA recovery is not working, I can repack the boot image with the latest TWRP 3.0.2-1.

Yes, like all ROMs for our device (and maybe for our entire SoC family).
Can any user test WiFi hopspot for me. And also if pokemon go will work without bugs (sorry I have no time to DL and test myself ATM)
So here are results of my brief testing:
- It booted VERY FAST as there is no ART cache compilation after every update, cache is generated on-the-fly combining JIT and AOT compilation. BTW, not only first boot was fast but the latter ones too, much faster than CM13.
- First boot with Opengapps Pico for 08.26 led to Setup Master's FCs at some moments, yet after some painful experience I've succeed adding Google account and even restoring my apps and settings, which was quite surprising (I was amazed when noticed my ringtone being restored to that from CM13).
- 3G is not working, at least for me. Only EDGE.
- Getting root with the current version of SuperSU appears to be impossible, at least for our device.
- Phone seems to be less responsive, but maybe that's just me, because I regularly use it overclocked to 1.4 GHz.
- TWRP 2.8.0.0 and not working FOTA recovery, seriously? I was forced to repack boot image with the TWRP 3 (just quickly grabbed that from NUI as I'm lazy to repack recovery ramdisk for using in boot image). Some report it working but for me it always booted to the built-in TWRP, both by Vol- and Vol+. BTW, I can upload repacked boot image tomorrow (it is on my personal laptop, I'm writing this from my work one).
I would certainly use it as daily driver if there were root and NUI kernel available. It is very stable for such an early alpha (gosh, Ron started working on it a couple days ago as sources were published) and such an old phone (it debuted 3 years ago), we are very lucky to have so custom-friendly hardware and such a talented developers as Ron and guys working on msm8960 board (another reason I think is that there were no any bringing-pain-in-the-ass changes like ART in 4.4/5.0 and adoptable storage in 6.0). Great work, PecanCM!
I'll continue my testing tomorrow and revert to CM13 later until new SuperSU and NUI are released (or maybe forever if I'll buy new device soon).

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10 (Q), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

Oooh, I wish we had this on Z5 Pro too, it would be soo amazing {;_;}
Wow great work!
Infrared camera working for unlocking the phone? Also do we need to be in 11.5 stable or beta can also? Or it doesn't matter as long as we're on Android 10?

Doesn't matter! Any Android 10 ROM works fine!

Testing here. Best Rom ever!
Work: Slide, camera, nfc, fast charging, fingerprint and more.
Needes face detection and always on display shows some bugs!
Great rom!
By the way, are you sure that ZUI 11.5.151 even exists?
I tried it on 11.5.116 at first and wifi didn't work, so I tried to find 11.5.151 and found absolutely no info about this version.
Eventually everything worked fine when I installed this rom on top of 11.5.141.
I tried 2 times to install this rom (from beta stock Android 10), but I still have a problem with WiFi - it didn't find any network. For now I used cellural network to go through configuration process. After configuration I can go to WiFi settings, turn it on and after few seconds it will be automatically turned off.
FYI: I installed nano opengapps before first launch - maybe this causes issues?

How to install
You have to had ZUI 11.5.151 (Android 10 ) isntalled, bootloader unlocked and have TWRP installed
In TWRP clean Data if you coming from stock ROM and do Install of this ROM. If you need Google apps, intall opengapps from TWRP before first boot.

And what do You mean by "clean data". Should I use:
"Format Data" button or
Advanced Wipe > Select Data > and "Swipe to Wipe" or
just "Swipe to Factory Reset"?

Hi, i'm also having issues with WIFI, comming from beta ZUI 11.5. I have tried Reinstall ROM, factory data, clean data-cache-dalvik. Same issue.
Any workarround for this?..
Thanks a lot!

Wifi issue cn be caused by using not 11.5.141 ZUI, but other version. Kernel used now is prebuilt from ZUI 11.5.141 and it requires same modules (for wifi and audio) that located in /vendor.
This can be solved by flashing 11.5.141 before flashing Lineage or wait till I finish OSS kernel.
I edited first post to mention only 11.5.141 required.
This looks pretty promising. The ROM situation for this device has been pretty bad.
A couple of questions.
(1) what types of scores are we getting on this Rom? Antutu?
(2) any thoughts on when we will have a decent camera that can take advantage of the device optics?

Works fine here! In next update, please fix the fingerprint on max brightness, he stops work in that way.
Great ROM!
Unfortunately I have some problems regarding the fact that while I register the fingerprint i often get errors about the sensor being dirty. After many attempts of registering i managed top save one fingerprint, but that unfortunately i could unlock with other fingers as well, making me believe it wasn't properly registered in primis.
WiFi doesn't work either, and because I don't have access to the closed beta i can't fix this for myself
Can't seem to make audio work either for whatever reason

Hi, thanks for your reply!
I'm having issues to get zui 11.5.141.
First..no problem to get ZUI 10.5.304 then OTA -> 11.1.021.
Second..unlock bootloader, install TWRP, but here either go to 11.5.124 (124-134-141) or 11.5.141 directly, according to 4pda always having error 7 twrp.
Any tips?.
Thanks!
Edit: Now from ZUI 10.5.304 with OTA, just upgrading, you'll get 11.5.141.
Testing ROM, working great!!
Thank you for the TWRP, the OSS kernel, and most importantly -- the first LineageOS (usable as a daily driver) built for our device! Can't wait to have a try haha
the color of the screen is very colorful. How can I change it to normal mode?
Hello, I installed this ROM, but the color of the screen is very colorful. How can I change it to normal mode?
Finally there is hope for our device. Keep up the good work!
I would like to report my experience for the current build (17.1-20200206) :
-Fingerprint appeared on first boot and when the device is unlocked by SmartLock.
-Corner display overlay doesn't set properly like on zui, causing the edge to be jagged
-Notification lights didn't work.
Other than that it's a great rom. I'm currently using it as my daily driver. Looking forward to see more features and fixes in the future!

What's CAF?
CAF stands for Code Aurora Forum. It's a fork of AOSP which is well optimized for Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to plain AOSP. In addition to the opensource CAF android base, these builds also use Qualcomm's proprietary Android 11 Board Support Package (BSP) for Snapdragon 665, to ensure maximum compatibility and functionality with Android 11. It can also be called an engineered ROM, as it's built from pure CAF sources and BSP in the same way OEMs do.

FAQs
Q: Is MiuiCamera included?
A: No, the MiuiCamera from android 10 doesn't work in 11, so a fresh port from Mi A3 is required whenever android 11 is released for it.
Q: What's the 4 or 5 number beside the wifi icon?
A: It's a CAF feature which shows the 802.11 generation number. 4 stands for 802.11n, 5 stands for AC, 6 for AX and so on.
Q: Does the main rear camera have yellow tint? This bug was there in AOSP 11.
A: No, it has been fixed.
Q: How to get weather in at a glance widget? It just shows me the date
A: There's a quite simple trick for this, just add another instance of at a glance widget manually onto another home screen. The one on the main home screen gets refreshed automatically!
Q: This ROM is laggy! Expected more since its CAF.
A: Most importantly, let the ROM settle after its booted, janks will eventually disappear. In my testing I've faced no lags at all except in the first 10 mins after booting. Do keep in mind that this is an initial A11 release, both from CAF and my side. The kernel used (QSv2) is also in its early stages as it's entirely rebased on android 11 kernel source.
Q: Next update when? ETA PL0X
A: Updates will be dropped as soon as CAF releases a new android 11 tag for our chipset (trinket) or when there's a new security patch available. Please do not spam XDA or telegram for ETAs.

Thanks for the Hard Work
Thanks for this! Works very good by just following your simple instructions!
I have a question: how can I enable bubble notifications / chats like you've done on the screenshots? Again, thanks a lot for bringing Android 11 to Redmi users!

i installed that magiskR, is this the cause?
edit: clean installed once again but flash dfe after install rom and magisk at next reboot
NO BOOTLOOPS and boot very fast, rom is smooth no lag and battery usage is better than caf q (reloaded)

Big fan of your work, thanks for another amazing ROM
Edit: I'm also having the reboot problems reported by @nneko904 (although they don't bother me). Also, File Transfer is not working when in system, only in recovery
Edit2: updated Magisk to v21 and Manager to 8.0.2 and seems like reboots are gone. Procedure is as follows:
- Install MagiskR.zip as described in initial post
- Boot to System, go into Magisk Manager
- Setings > Change Update Channel to "Beta"
- Update Magisk Manager via Magisk Manager's initial page
- Reboot
- Go into Magisk Manager and update Magisk. Don't use Recovery Mode, and choose Direct Install. Wait for it to finish and reboot.

Backup procedure and precaution information
Must read before unlocking bootloader and flashing custom ROM
Some explanation regarding the whole widewine L1-L3-Qbeta etc ( Info @ https://t.me/ASUSX00TD from a member )
Starting from Q builds Asus has begun wiping DRM keys if bootloader is unlocked on that build, which is actually default behavior among most other OEMs like pixels, oneplus. Flashing Q builds (Stock beta 1 or latest) or custom ROM on unlocked bootloader through TWRP will permanently loose their L1 certification. widewine keys will be wiped by firmware itself as it detects unlocked bootloader. This also explains why some people, who flashed previous stock Q beta before on locked bootloader, even though first stock Q beta had L3 which means they hadn't fixed L1 on that beta that time , retained their L1/DRM keys on reverting to pie via downgrade zip provided by asus. So in conclusion Asus Q builds/custom ROM will wipe your DRM keys if flashed on Unlocked bootloader. Flashing on locked bootloader shouldn't be any problem!
Also those who have their persist partition backed up in pie should have no problem restoring their DRM keys in case thet got wiped by Q firmware/builds
How to Backup Persist ?
Dump all partitions and make complete backup | Partition layout and structure
Recovery method
use recoveries which support persist partition backup (eg. Orangefox)
Go to recovery > Backup > tick persist > backup > store it safe somewhere with multiple copies.
How to Restore Persist ?
Go to recovery > Restore menu > select backup > tick persist partition > Restore (process similar/different for different recoveries)
Upgrading to LineageOS 18.1
1. Make a backup of your important data
2. Download the build and also Gapps.
3. Download proper addons packages GApps for Android 11/Lineage OS 18.1
4. Make sure your recovery and firmware are up to date
5. For clean flash, Format your system, vendor, data and cache partition partition to install ROM and Gapps.
6. For installing updates format system, vendor and cache partition. keep data partition intact to flash ROM and Gapps.
Secure ROM experience
Avoid permissive selinux and rooting methods for secure ROM experience.

It's working. I just checked again before replying to you. There's as option "Tape to wake" in display settings. Check if you it enabled. Also make sure you're on latest build.

I reflash it again using TWRP 3.4.0 by KudProject and currently I'm on firmware 87, yet still not working. What firmware are you using?

I still can't fix it. I tried flashing firmware 087 via ASUS flash tool, clean flash everything, tried other custom roms if DT2W is working, still this specific ROM gives me headache. I can't find any solutions online either. Tried to flash multiple custom kernels, no luck. So how did you do it?

I'm also on the same firmware as you. I did a clean flash (wiped System, Vendor, Data, and caches). I use OrangeFox recovery. May I ask which build are you using?

That's strange. Btw 20210413 build was re uploaded because previous build had some issue. Can you match this MD5 hash (9e92c5deb689891958a7ebfe150c337f) against your zip. Also, can you please post a screenshot of your display settings.

The md5 that you gave is the same with my ZIP file. I can't give you any screenshots, at the moment, 'cause I don't know where's the setting for that. LineageOS seemed to remove it from the power menu. Anyway, there's an option in the "Display" section called "Tap to wake" (disabled by default when you first install the ROM) and I enabled it. I tested it multiple times, on and off, still no luck. What device variant are you using? Mine is 4GB/64GB. It's says on the box, "ZB602KL", but it doesn't support NFC. AFAIK, my model's supposed to support NFC. WEIRD.

Mine is also 4GB/64GB midel, but it says ZB601KL on its box. This may be the cause of issue that you're facing.

Maybe? hahaha. Thanks for the reply though. As so you know, I tested some Android 11 ROMs too. I tested DotOS and crDroidand their DT2W feature doesn't work either. I also tested ArrowOS, but it's SELinux status is in "Permissive", so I can't use it. It's DT2W feature works though. Maybe some Android 11 ROMs share the same trees as this one? Who knows? Guess gotta live with it? haha
P.S. I want to use the LineageOS 17.1 from the same dev, but when I crank up the volume in full, the speaker starts to crack and it's pretty annoying.

What is this?
An AOSP based ROM, with gapps included and gesture support (pocket, hand wave, pickup).
Based on Android 12.0
Bugs:
You tell me
You tell me? I worked hard to get everything working, I don't see any other issues, please report real issues, not feature requests from MIUI or other roms.

Is it possible to implement a setting to have 2 behaviours of the power button as on stock? Press to unlock, or touch to unlock? Press is really preferable as it prevents accidental unlocks when carrying the phone around with the screen off.
Thanks for your hard work.
I Will install the ROM when I get back from Holiday.
Still 3 weeks

I'm not sure but i think you can upgrade from Android 11. Although i would recommend wiping the phone and doing a clean install.
