USB C Charging Stand for Car with Screen Open - Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 Accessories

I'd like to find a mount/dock/stand of some kind that would have a USB 3 cable that I could mount somewhere in my car where the Fold 2 could be open -- or closed and sitting tightly and not move around. The only ones I found so far would only work if it was closed. I even looked for ones for tablets but it doesn't look like there is much to choose from.
For my Note 8, I had two devices strapped together that locked into one of my cup holders about 10" high in the center area between the front seats. I could just sit the phone into for charging and Android Auto and easily view the screen if I needed to.

Go to www.Proclip.com. Get the tablet holder for up to 7.6 inches.

I saw this video looked decent ...https://youtu.be/1MBJkZR758Q
Edit I see it not in stock on Amazon

This One Charges Wirelessly
This one should charge the Fold wirelessly when open. I have not gotten my Custom Fold 2 yet, but I bought this in anticipation.
It fits my current Note 10+ with a case so it should work with the Fold 2. Won't let me post an actual link.

YES!
It was the only way I could aford to do it. Money is tight, but I just had to have this phone. It is the first phone that I have been really excited about in years.

This one works for me with the phone opened or closed:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DP6Y5NW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm using this one. Works great while it's fully open. The motorised clamp holds it in place.
We'll see if this can last long in terms of durability.

Thank you for sharing really excited to try this out! Do you have a link to this haven't been able to find it?

I love that, but wish it had a USB C plug instead of Qi charging for Android Auto.

Sweet. Thanks for the pics and the link!

I've been using this mount for years and years and it has lasted through lots of phones. Works great for the Z fold 2 also. I use it as a vent mount, but there are so many possibilities and so easy to change quickly. It takes a bit of working with to get it right, but I have used it for over 5 years in my current car and never have taken it out of the vent, just changed it a bit for each phone. Works perfect with it in open position. Not fancy or anything, just a holder. https://www.breffo.com/products/breffo-spiderpodium

I have it already, and I agree. It also has to go in "Buttons Down", which isn't terrible, but I'll live w/it and cut a slot in the left grab arm so I can Qi and USB, or flip it and use only USB. (Which is exactly what you want!)

Suitable Tripod & Clamp for Galaxy Note?

I know you can purchase small tripods and clamps for Smartphones but of the ones I have seen the clamps only open up to 7cm.
The Galaxy Note however requires a wider 8.3cm
Therefore, has anyone seen a Tripod & Clamp suitable for the Galaxy Note?
Thanks in advance.

I have a sneaky feeling it will not open wide enough to accommodate the Galaxy Note.
I know under the list of devices it mentions the Note but I'm skeptical of it's truth.
It's currently un-available to order on Amazon UK here.
I'll do a bit of reading later to see if I can find any further information on it's specifications.
The zoom lens doesn't interest me.... but the clamp and tripod yes.

Tripod holder
I just purchased this from amazon. I will post pictures when I got it.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005LY9FVU
It can hold the phone vertically and can also be used with a tripod (like gorilla pod).
Also this year at macWorld I bought this (http://flygrip.com/)
It is perfect for the Note! can be used as a stand (a bit unbalanced)

Pleased this works for you.... but for me not a chance.
I need to be able to attach the clamp to a true tripod such as a Joby Gorillapod.
This allows you to put the phone into any angle you desire and have it held firmly in place.

Normal clamps open to accommodate the 'Width' of the phone not the depth.
I couldn't make it out with this clamp but are you saying it is held by clamping the depth of the phone. If so surely that would mean clamping the back of the phone to the glass front?

Really simple and nice looking and good grip cover

Finally I found an awesome cover for my One X.

Tons of those on eBay, search for "one x cover s line". I've ordered 3 different cases, all hard. Don't really like those silicone ones..
I always buy gel cases, the silicone ones are a nightmare for collecting dust and fluff.
I would not have a hard case, as it gives no shock protection when you drop the phone, it does not absorb some of the impact as gel or silicone does.

LG G3 851 Supports Wireless Charging

So my back cover has two electrical contacts, I swear wireless charging works.... hehe JK. You definitely need the right cover but the phone DOES support QI charging.
After I pre-ordered the G3 I ordered an OEM slim case from Korea, not realizing it had different electrical contacts than the US version. I read the Anandtech review, they had the 855, figured the US versions had it built in... Sadly, we know the story. So I pulled the wireless charging coil from the OEM slim case and moved it into my original back. It took me two tries to get it lined up but QI wireless charging does work. I have pics but I've only been a lurker on the forum so I can't upload pics. With the placement right now NFC doesn't work... but I mainly just wanted to confirm that QI worked.
I tested with two different QI chargers, both older that were designed with the Nexus 4. The nexus 4 orb wcp-400 and the flat wcp-700. Both were able to charge the G3. However, as others have reported the G3 is very picky about placement on the charger. On both chargers I get 'charging slowly' messages on most placements on the charger. It takes perfect placement for them to display a 'normal' charging message. However, I'm skeptical of these messages, because it does say that the phone IS charging and it didn't matter what charger I had connected, (1.8A, 2.4A, QI,good/bad placement) the estimated battery recharge time was exactly the same.... I'll do some tests and see how long it takes to charge from ~50%, with perfect placement and the non perfect placement too vs the cable.
So TLDR any of the US carriers QI back covers should enable wireless charging with the Tmobile 851. Maybe once I have enough posts I can upload pics. :cyclops:
I can also confirm that this back works for Qi wireless charging one the d851 - http://www.ebay.com/itm/151340368484?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
I am thinking of moving the coil to my Quickcircle- then I will have what they should of delivered...

I ordered the white one but there are links to Grey and Gold if needed on that page. Same seller. Just a heads up though, AT&T has locked theirs down so that it only supports powermat chargers not qi. The other 3 "should" be fine with this backplate.

Not all, support Qi. AT&T's does PMA for some retarded reason.
They have a deal with PMA so of course they are going to request and push that standard.
Personally I think PMA and Qi need to be locked into a room and come up with a single standard.
PMA can suck it
charging through a case
anyone tried wireless charging through a slim case?
Um are the prices going to get lower than $40? I thought the back would be a cheap purchase.
Well got my cover today. Can confirm that it does work with QI charging . Unbranded is a double win. It's an actual LG cover intended for these units just before they stamp the carrier logo on it. Win win.

Grey keeps selling out rather fast as that color seems to be more popular. The listing for this one was http://m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=151340368484. All the ~$20 backplates I've seen are just replacements and don't have the charging coil, just NFC.
If you keep an eye on that seller they'll probably come back. When I ordered mine, all 3 colors were available.

Wow! It would indeed fit given that the OPO MicroUSB port is oriented the sale as the One M8 :good:
I found the exact same one on Amazon for $10
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JLG0ZD6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I get it tomorrow. I'll update this when I use it.
UPDATE: Here it is... it's GREAT! For $10 it's a no brainer. It looks perfect with the phone.
Any luck to fit a phone with a generic tpu case inside the dock?

Charging time will be identical since all you're doing is plugging your charger into the back of the dock to provide power.

That usb plug looks backwards for the OPO. The tapered side needs to be towards the back or else the screen will face the wrong way. That dock is a no-go.

Thanks for clearing that up. I've ordered it.
The reason I was asking is that I found some two of my spare USB cables are working differently when it comes to charging OPO.
One is from my battery pack so it's not working for data at all, but charges the phone normally from USB wall charger or laptop USB socket, however the one works for data normally but the charging takes twice as much.

Sorry! I see. You are correct sir!
Can anyone confirm if it'll fit an OPO with a Distronics TPU case on? Pics please :victory:
is the phone supposed to sense that it's in the dock as opposed to just plugged in to charger?

New Huawei Watch charging stand avaliable

If there's one thing that this beautiful watch is missing is a dedicated stand to protect your investment and also to have the ability to use the watch as a desk clock, while charging. We at Artifex Design have designed the first Huawei Watch stand to be sold on Ebay and Amazon. No more modifying apple stands or buying overly expensive adapters. The stand is 3D printed, which gives it a cool tech appeal and will even be a conversation starter as it sits on your desk at work. The stand is equipped with rubber feet to prevent sliding, and a Microsuede padding on top of the base to prevent the band from getting scratched up. Current pricing for forum members is 23USD shipped within the USA. Visit our website for more information at mod edit

Xda is not the place for advertising! If you broke the rules at least you can insert a link to the stand ! Maybe you don't have 10 posts....
Admin.....
No, I do not yet have 10 posts. Why can't a new relevant product be displayed here? This section of the website isn't very active, so any relevant posts should be allowed i would think.

Cool, send me a message when you post them up.
The base looks a bit small. How sturdy is the stand? If for example my dog bumped my nightstand would the watch stand fall over? Thanks.
What is the weight on this? Looks like same design at the platinum from best buy for the Apple watch that I have converted. However that one is solid aluminum and has a nice solid weight. Is there a lead base in this to keep it upright?
Good questions^^^ awaiting a response..........
The base is roughly 2in x 1.5 inch. Its plenty stable for its purpose. The base is about .8 of an inch wider than one of the most popular Apple Watch stands sold on a major shopping website . After seeing how unstable that was between the narrow base and slippery felt under the base, we decided to give ours a wider platform and add rubber non slip feet. Obviously if you try to knock it over it will fall. Put it this way, I have four wild dogs living at my house, and I have been testing this stand for about a month and it has never toppled on me. Hope this helps!
Unfortunately I have yet to actually weight this, but if the math is correct, Length = mass / ( density x pi x ( diameter / 2 )^2 ), then this stand weighs in at around 3.14oz, which is .4oz heavier than a popular apple watch wood stand and about 1 oz heavier than the Maxboost aluminum apple watch stand, so its has considerable weight for what it is, no "lead" needed.
