How long have you been on RevengeOS? A few days? I'm sure you know this but I don't pay any attention to battery stats until 3-4 complete cycles after I install a new setup. Wait for everything to settle and stats to become accurate.. My battery on my chiron is definitely overdue for a swap. Sometimes I get average decent battery and other times it's half that. Picked up my device used off swappa about a year ago and i had it a few weeks and battery started to deteriorate more and more.
This rom is great btw op!! At the stage RevengeOS is currently at, being just upgraded to Android 11 it sort of reminds me of Decendants UI wise. Awesome work though thanks for bringing some A11 love to chiron.

That's right, this rom is great, however I've found probably a bug, after instal gcam, back camera starts buzzing and the photos which were take are shaked, but not all the time, when it's start buzzing on gcam, I found that every app using camera had this problem, it's looks like hardware issue, but on miui I haven't experienced something like this. Today I'm flashed miui because not only low sot I've got, battery charging slower than usual in miui, next thing is notification led, it's to bright for me, and camera flashlight is to yellowish and to low in my opinion, for now I've wait for next versions

What gapps have you got guys? I've tried nikgapps but I couldn't get the rom to boot with omni and higher, it went straight to the recovery. (core & basic worked)

I actually used the NikGApps Omni package. I wiped data, vendor, system, and cache in Orange Fox recovery v11 beta then flashed RevengeOS 4.0 , flashed NikGApps-Android 11-Omni 10/10/2020 package, reboot system. Booted right up for me.. Attached a screenshot of gapps I used.

Hmm, I've tried the 25.10 only, and I'm still using somewhat old twrp so maybe that's the problem.

When I saw your post about the NikGApps omni I was like I swear that's what I used when I installed... I keep all my zips on USB thumb drives so I was able to confirm that I did use the Omni NikGApps_11-gapps. Weird. Maybe something in the app packages, who knows but my phone booted afterwards like it normally does... If you try Orange Fox recovery, if you don't want to install recovery there's a recovery.img inside the v11 beta installer zip that you can use and just do fastboot boot recovery.img from your PC and it'll boot recovery. I assumed that's what it was after unpacking the zip after another user asked if it could be booted and not installed using the recovery.img and I sent the command and it booted fine.
Really cool that we have an Android 11 rom for chiron!! :good:

That is hardware issue (most likely due to the dirty lenses) like you said My Mix 2 had this from the beginning, didn't matter what ROM i was using, but as I'm not really guy who takes a lot of pictures it didn't really bother me

Welcome to VanirAOSP. Our mission is to deliver a clean optimized version of Android with subtly improved versions of the features you love to as many devices as possible. we've tried to incorporate and improve our features in a way that makes them more cohesive to improve the overall user experience while correcting any performance regressions and improving functionality..
What to expect:
- This is not a McCopy ROM. What goes into our build is well thought-out and not a bunch of stuff duck taped together because we could.
- maximum optimization. We do our research. We test hard. We build -fstrict -O3 globally and include a massive array of code optimizations and memory leak fixes that we write ourselves and eventually submit to AOSP or Linaro.
- originality in our source. We generate a lot of new commits being features or general code improvements. We are open source to share and improve the community but we also try to make sure we offer a unique experience.
- aesthetics.. hopefully in your opinion
General features:
SU, busybox etc
Stock mode - ability revert to stock AOSP code with the exception of a few custom features we chose to keep active
Enhanced performance.. longer uptime with less slowdown
Custom written CRON and init.d etc
UI and graphics improvements
Custom navbar, navring, and hardware key features
Halo (active display & lockscreen notifications are in review)
Usability improvements like power reboot menu and sound
Animation control
Improved Vanir keyboard
CM's profiles & quicksettings
Additional quicksetting tiles
Immersive mode
Statusbar mods
Clock & battery mods
Lockscreen blur and other mods
Soon to come -> quick cam and flash notifications
Busybox, embedded root, init.d, cron etc
yatta yatta yatta
More to come when i feel like updating the op

Nope the beta build was pretty stable hence no need to reinstall and this goes for all the beta testers.....Cheers am waiting for a battery life review
Well I said that because I miss the navbar with landscape buttons, but aside from that, yeah its good...
And battery life is so good... I charged the battery last night so I cant show you exactly how it did, but it was near 40% and I had like 4:30 hours of display time with like 18h of on time
Right now going for 4 hours with 1h display time and still sitting at 85%. So far so good

hows the camera? same as any other AOSP? freeze for the first time?
Camera seems to work fine, but it seems the NFC service is forcing the phone to stay awake.
Beautiful ROM!! Indeed fast and smooth!! Only issue I have though, EXT SDcard not accessible even with KK SD fixes tried!
Can anyone please clear some doubts :
1. Whether kernel is with the rom and install autometically.
2. Any chance of losing IMEI and hence no network?
3. Can dualrecovery by [NUT] be install with this rom?
Thanks..
Edit : I am lost IMEI...hence no network...can anybody help please..
I did the following:
1. With unlocked bootloader was on Romur 7.1 android 767 version and doomkernel v16 with dualrecovery 121 version.
2. Reboot to philztouch recovery.
3. Flash System, data, cache and dalvik
4. Install Vanir ASOP KK.
5. Install slim gapps
6. Install dualrecovery v121
7. Reboot and no network.
8. Revert back to Romur 7.1 and network back with IMEI..

Whatever Is the same as CM
Can't wait to download and flash when I get home
*Flashed and working great so far. Only issue I have is the phantom voicemail problem, but that's an issue on all AOSP/CM based ROMs for me.
**~8hrs later* After charging all night it tells me it only charged to 63%, unplogged for 15 minutes and then plugged back in and it now displays 86% :/
Amazing. Just giggety. This baby is so sexy. Everything works great except the camera. Of course. CM 12. No phantom phone voicemails or anything of the sorts. My only complaint is for Google and the new battery usage app. Doesn't show the specific up time. But totally worth it as my daily camera or not.
Dude, this is one of the greatest roms ever. Thanks a lot bro. It's working perfectly on S III Virgin Mobile.

From those 8 days I was looking for testers don't worry it's just the same build I used with my testers
Clean install. Did not take forever to boot initially other than optimizing apps. Was quicker than most roms (Kudos). Camera initially did not work (I expected that cm12) Flashlight appears to be affected as well. Installed Open Camera, required reboot. Flashlight works before camera fail, my theory is that the problem with cm12 cam is related to the flash. Wifi works and GAPPS work. Not having any errors other than the camera and flashlight issue. Love the center clock and color for the time thank you. Wish that battery color could be changed as well. Also love the fact that the home button will turn the screen back on, that was a throw off for me on other 5.0 roms. Themes still appear to not work. Other than that great job and thank you for developing this great share!

Home button on works on all 5.0 roms. In settingd
CM themes are working just fine for me. Only 2 issues other than the camera. The flashlight freezes and gets stuck on in various apps. Also playlists don't save. I created one yesterday and it was gone when I woke up. After longboarding with the buddies I realize I need a camera so alas I'm on to another ROM.

Well didn't do so well with a dirty flash over the 2/01 build. At first it was just a white screen after boot and black when locked. So I wiped cache and dalvik. Worked for a bit then YouTube stopped, the Google play services, and then store. I'm gonna mess around and see what happens. Will keep you updated.

Lollipop ROMs don't use dalvik, so no need to wipe it. I've seen strange problems crop up when you wipe dalvik one Lollipop ROM.

Lol my bad. Well I did all that and reinstalled gapps and had one playsrvice process error but everything seems to be fine now. idk about 4g. I'm showing 3g
I installed this and so far it's running pretty damn good. However, I hate to seem like a complete noob but i can't seem to locate a screen capture option. I've tried several button combos and even, as silly as it seems, the TW screen swipe. I haven't been able to get a screen capture.
Any assistance would be awesome and much appreciated.
PS. I've noticed that when i click the "buttons" option in candy interface I get a "unfortunately , settings has stopped". Other than that I haven't had any other issues.

Can you add Antutu best result on this rom?
Sent from my Mi Note 2 using Tapatalk
Hi,
I'd like to say thanks for this ROM. It is very functional - lots of extra options - and seems to work very well. I have been trying all the Oreo ROMs, but most have battery life issues and the phone runs too hot. This ROM however is different - after the load and a short settle down period the ROM runs cool and does not use so much juice. Oreo seems like Nougat at launch, basically over hyped and short on genuine 'advances'. As usual developers will have to figure out how to get the best from the code, so initial ROMs are in many ways a step backwards on the battery life and performance possible on Nougat.
The only issue I have noted so far - and this applies to all of the Oreo ROMs is that they take ages to charge the battery. I know this can be fixed by better Kernel optimisation, but alas there is nothing available that I can get to work right now - tried Pepsy but it hangs 100% of the time, and it is not for this ROM anyway (yes I did read ALL of the instructions for the so called compatible ROMs). I have around 200 apps loaded on my phone, so far all of them seem to work OK. Great job! Thanks :0)

Hi,
I'd like to say thanks for the OTA update yesterday. Now the 'fast charge' appears to work, and a few other minor issues have been resolved. The ROM continues to exhibit excellent battery life, and also runs very cool (even when charging). I am getting as low as 22 degrees Celsius which is the best I have got with any ROM. I am using Greenify and DU Battery Saver. These both seem to work fine and do help get rid of any hidden battery drains.
Using Viper and this works fine (implemented via Magisk).
The only issue I now have to figure out is when using the Wifi Hotspot feature I am losing the connection when the screen goes off. Most likely it is something I have killing the app, but I cannot find the root cause. Any tips would be welcome!
Thanks again for a top quality ROM with great features and superb performance / battery. Not going back to MIUI - this is now my daily driver :0)

Thank you for the reviews you posted here , it made me want to try this rom, so when i'll get the chance (mostly it's about the time), i'll switch to it.
Seems to be a very cool ROM! Thank you , dev!
yeah, phone seems running cooled, for standart usage it's good! Most of options, like AEX or RR is presented, so now i use this ROM and waiting for more features and updates.
Hi!
I've finally got the chance to test the ROM and i am very impressed by how feature packed it is.
The only things that i've noticed is that the reception is not that great as other roms and sometimes it doesn't want to connect to the mobile data , so i have to turn on&off the airplane mode.
Also, the sound volume is low . Can it be higher by default?
Thank you for your work here!
I hope there will be updates in the future, too!
Another problem i've noticed is the fact that the phone gets pretty hot when doing normal activities like scrolling through facebook or using camera

I do find certain apps can cause the phone to heat up. I don't use either Facebook or the native camera app - so I am not seeing this issue. I do have a Logitech wifi camera app that is a nightmare - but if I set it to Greenify it stops being a problem.
One other point is to note the unusual upgrade instructions - wipe system partition and re-load gapps. I did not do this for a couple of updates and a few things started to go wrong. Hopefully doing as per the Dev's instructions will improve things. Tried latest version of ASOP Extended and fled back to crDroid which seems not to eat the battery so fast.
Always remember a couple of key disciplines when changing ROM - I always reset the Battery Stats with a battery calibrator after a full charge (first time only), and then you need a few hours for the software to 'settle down' and stop running various hidden set-up / optimisation routines. Typically a day later the things starts to work properly. This happens on all ROMs in my experience.
Thanks again Firebird for this ROM
I wonder how can you developer maintain so many devices at the same time?that's really amazing
Bluetooth always crashed.
Edit: Re-flash and fixed

I think it's good practice to mention the people that made your work possible. It's a bit unfair to perform like it's completely your work.
The well-kept repos from AICP (thanks @SpiritCroc and a lot of others before) first enabled us to build other android 'flavours' so quickly and with so less effort.
Open source isn't just taking - it's also giving. And even if it's only some credits.
By the way: It would be just fair to give something back if you fix some problems by submitting it to https://gerrit.aicp-rom.com
Good luck.

You're right! All this is possible thanks to @SpiritCroc and the team AICP
Tested and working fine. Thanks all involved people for their effort to keep phone up to date.
Thanks for building RR7! Is anyone running this as a daily driver? If so, can you confirm that bluetooth is working? Thanx again

Tried since yesterday as daily driver. Bluetooth working, at least with my car. Wifi 2.4 and 5Ghz also working (not tested high channels). Camera works as in most other roms (lineageos camera), and GPS works fine, so, as far as I've tested, all is working (NFC not tested)
One annoying thing is that volume buttons only change multimedia volume, and an icon appears to switch ringer from vibration to sound or no sound. It's not an issue, as this behaviour comes directly from android 9 itself, who changed the way this works. Under RR setting you can make a full panel appear.
And may be due to this, Volume settings are a bit messed, with ring and notifications icons/sliders somehow swapped and a strange behaviour when moving them individually. Seems that there is something wrong there.
Otherwise, nice ROM, very similar to AICP.
Hallo.
Very excelent ROM! Everthing works. Sound setings must set on ROM setings, i set slider for bell, ring, multimediaand phone. Up the slider is button to switch to silent mode.

I flash another kernel- RZ . XRen kernel litlle batery drain in my Z1C. RZ kernel i set in Kernel Adiutor and now very good energi optimization and batery saver!
With RZ kernel fully work double tap to sleep and double tap to wake - wau!
Good work! Now my Z1C have 2019 facelift
Hallo.
AnTuTu:
Mark
Flashed this ROM today; didn't do much in it, just tested a few things. What I tried was working very well. Got extremely fast GPS fixes.
Many thanks to everyone involved for your efforts! :good::good:
There's only one thing I couldn't get to work: I tried to flash rashad's RZ Kernel V 3.0.2 with the result that my phone wouldn't boot anymore, neither into system nor into recovery. I tried several options but none worked. After each failed attempt I had to re-flash twrp through fastboot as it is described here
1.: flashed ROM + kernel + openGapps 9 pico + Magisk V 18 (in that order) >> no boot into system possible, didn't get past some initial background illumination (no bootlogo or whatever, no LED)
2a: flashed ROM + openGapps 9 pico + Magisk, then booted into system >> OK
2b: booted back into recovery, flashed kernel from zip + Magisk (in that order) >> no boot into system, see #1
3a: repeated 2a >> OK
3b: repeated 2b, but without flashing Magisk >> no boot into system, see #1
While flashing the kernel there aren't any error messages etc.
I admit that it's been quite a while that I last flashed a custom kernel, and that's been a completely different device. So I assume that I'm doing something wrong here.
Hallo.
Unlock bootloader, instal TWRP 3.2.1, wipe, instal ROM, Gaps, kernel and Magisk. No problem.
After reflash Xren kernel to RZ kernel must wipe.

that's how I did it: bootloader is unlocked since 18 months or so, currently am running LOS 15.1 unofficial; TWRP 3.2.3 is installed to FOTAKernel already.
I always wipe cache, Dalvik/Art, System and Data before I flash a different ROM.
Did the rest as you wrote.

Question is: what should I wipe if I flash a different kernel only onto an existing ROM without destroying vital parts of the ROM?
Hallo.
I am reflash more times from Xren to RZ kernel and RZ to Xren for testing. I am flash new kernel and wipe cache and dalvik. After restart, phone normal boot to system.
I have litlle problem with recovery. It is diferent two bootkoader on xperia Z1C and more then two TWRP.

Strange! Tried again one hour ago, and again no chance to boot into system. After waiting for 5 minutes I gave up, now I'm back at LineageOS 15.1 with standard kernel and twrp installed in FOTAKernel (at least that's what I think)
Hy!
I set government CPU and GPU to Perfomance and now here is final test. Phone is not hot. Again, thank you for this ROM.
Mark
Hi @raschad,
first of all, thank you for your effort spent in this ROM.
I've tested it for three days on my device and - wow - this is very promising! Slick and responsive UI, overall performance is great. All phone features working like a charm.
Nevertheless, I encountered following issues:
Same as for user @lm089, I cannot boot with RZ kernel installed (thank you for your hint using fastboot to get back into recovery). Thus, I tested the ROM with the kernel it originally ships.
I use my phone as alarm clock. At night it is turned into flight mode. But while in flight mode, scheduled alarms won't wake the phone and play sound. Instead, when manually waking the phone after the scheduled alarm, there is a notification stating a "missed wakeup call". Not very helpful
Without flight mode, alarms are firing fine. Maybe this is some kind of "do not disturb" feature automatically activated within flight mode?
One morning, when manually waking the phone, it showed a quick "shutting down" message and turned off. Battery was >50% the night before, but now the phone was 'dead'. Needed 20 minutes charging prior willing to boot.
This battery drop issue occurred just once.
Two times, after waking the phone, display was completely unresponsive for touch input. Hardware buttons still working, but even putting the phone back in standby and waking again doesn't get the touch input back working -> hard reboot needed.
When configuring the camera app to store images onto external SD card, it stores pictures into /sdcard/Android/data/org.lineageos.snap/files. Pictures won't show up in gallery afterwards, as there is a .nomedia file present.
For now I'm back at Oreo which is very stable for me. But I'm eager for this great ROM. Feels great on a five years old device to have bleeding edge software running that smooth.
Please let me know if you need any further information or other support in order to track these issues down.
Looking forward to test any future releases!
Kind regards,
Simon
Hi again,
I've tested the RZ3.5 kernel with this rom (just installing it under TWRP), and I've to say that it worth the improvements. The overall feeling of performance is similar or better, but the real improvement is in battery duration. Actually I've a quite old battery installed, that gives me about 16h of working time. With RZ I'm getting consistently more than 24h. Tested during some days and it's an improvement of more than 50% in battery life, some days even about 100% improvement. Impressive.
So, the overall impression is quite nice. Phone is very responsive, and battery lasts enough... seems almost a new phone. Thanks all involved
Would you mind posting some of your kernel adjustments? Or do you just go with the kernel's standard settings?

Everything works except Ambient display option in setting/lock screen (Can be turned on from Cr droid settings). Tons of customisation and every option there works.
Multy tasking is smooth and app switching is good. Device is certified and safety net passed.
Only issue is battery backup. It's not good and charging also takes a lot of time. (Said 4 hrs to full charge at ~60% and took nearly same time). Magisk module might help.
Tested on olivelite.

It actually took that long. Another user too faced same issue. Copying this app to vendor/overlay and reboot fixed it. This time it took 3 hrs from 21% to 88%.
really wanting to try it after accidentally 1/3 system brick my olive xiaomi.eu MIUI OS9 just now, are there any special notes we should know before installing? like we need to flash a higher OS firmware (10? 11?) before trying?
so the way to flash it correctly is
> recovery
> wipe data
> recovery
> wipe cache, dalvik, data, system, vendor, sdcard
> recovery
> install rom (gapps)
> recovery
> wipe dalvik
profit
WARNING for newer OS never flash magisk, install the apk and let it figure itself there...
android 11 must be very finicky if the good old ways wont work. ive tried crdroid OS6 a long time ago on my S6 and liked it more than CM/LOS OS6, hopefully ill like this more than MIUI OS9
i also wonder about the battery charging stats. normally on my phone it charges from 0 > 100% in around 3 hours in lock screen state. thats me manually killing off every service just to check my batterys capacity/health is still normal. how can it charge from 20 > 90 in 3 hours?
