[SHARED] Xperia 1 II Twrp - Sony Xperia 1 II Guides, News, & Discussion

https://mega.nz/folder/AgIVxCjA#J7dB_eo6S_LovuqF4sjjcw

Thanks for sharing. Can you please give some more information about this? I'm wondering whether you've built this yourself, how stable it is and how to install. Thanks!

Same as for the Xperia 5 II:
-Download and extract the ZIP File to Your fastboot Location and rename it to recovery.img (for ease use)
-Use:
fastboot flash recovery_a recovery.img
fastboot flash recovery_b recovery.img
-Disconnect Your Device from USB and wait for it to turn off
-Press and hold VolumeDOWN & the Power Button together until You see the TWRP Logo (or use the reboot recovery option)

Finally I might unlock my xperia 1 II or I could wait android 11

After Your instructions, the system will not start! I didn't get the download, maybe this is because the recovery is intended for 58.0.A.3.132? I have now 58.0.A.3.194.

After flashing the recovery, you need to Wipe the Data. Otherwise, you won't be logged in!

Can someone confirm it working?
If so I think about unlocking bl

I can confirm that I have successfully rooted the device and system modifications are possible. The video quality is still fine (actually I don't see the lack of Sony video enhancement),
camera is working as well as on an untouched device and the headphone jack is surprisingly strong (with a few system modifications)...
I will try my best with twrp

- SD-Card supported (wrong mountpoint)
- should work fine in english
- only short tested by me (I unlocked my phone today)
- german translation is missing some words
There is something I wanna clearly point out:
This is NOT build from scratch, so I am not the developer.
The fix is done to improve an already amazing work.

Hello guys
Well i have just received my phone yesterday and im back on the modding part.
Sooo happy that there are people out there already developing for this phone.
Problem is, i downloaded the recovery, from both links, tried to flash it with mobiluncle tools, it took 2 seconds, maybe its to fast and its not really flashing??
rebooted to recovery and i can only see 2 lenovo logos overlapping and in the lower screen text saying Recovery mode.
It hangs a few seconds and then reboots normally. but no recovery.
Then tried to flash with flashtool. same story.
i could never access the original recovery anyway, it just said no command.
all information on the phone or other apps says unknown recovery, is this normal when its a stock recovery?
Any other ideas? need help, this phone is awesome so far, except for the internal memory, its too small and i have all of the phone memory doing nothing, i have my sd card, but i wanted to mod it in the first place to make the internal memory partition bigger.
Anyway this is not the thread to talk bout that, but any help with flashing this recovery?
Much appreciated.

[kernel][E6533][Z3+ dual][32.2.A.0.224](RIC disable, TWRP, root,dm-verity)

Hello guys.
Today i will post a kernel that i (just run the wizard to) created for Z3+ dual variant version 32.2.A.0.224. My simple contribution!
This kernel contents:
-RIC disable
-TWRP
-root
-dm-verity
How to install it:
Run this command at command prompt,
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Or.....
Use the Flashtools in a fastboot mode, then choose the Flash option by DoomLord.
Please, Don't thanks me. All the hard work was performed by Mr. Tobias Waldvogel in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/development/root-automatic-repack-stock-kernel-dm-t3301605
So, if you like this kernel, please pay a coffe for this guy!
Ps. I already tested on my Z3+ and everything it's okay, so i will not responsable about any brinks or damage in use this kernel!
Ps2: DON'T use this kernel on single model. I don't know whats happens!:silly:
Hello,i've already flashed your boot.img. then i try to flash SuperSu2.6.5.zip. Everything is just fine.
But when i enter SuperSu , the app said that i am in system-less mode.
another app can't detected root mode also.
is there anything wrong with me?
it's dual Z3+
Thanks a lot!

No flashing a kernel doesn't wipe anything, if you're having a dilemma then take a backup of everything like apps, contacts etc using titanium backup, copy the backup folder to your external memory or computer then flash.
Hope it helps.
P. S ONLY INSTALLING A RECOVERY WIPES EVERYTHING.

Can you tell me how long it took for the first boot?
Cause mine is stuck at 'Starting Applications' for about 8 minutes.
Edit : Couldn't wait it took almost 20mins with no progress so shut it down using power + volume up key and went into recovery wiped dalvik/cache and installed supersu 2.66 and again wiped then rebooted. Now it's showing optimising apps. The only problem is it's not charging. Usually at this stage when i connect my charger the charger led starts glowing but now nothing. Any ideas?

It's for 6.0.1 so don't flash it for 5.0.1, update the firmware then flash it cause Sony would have updated somethings in the kernel which won't work with old firmwares. The reason for boot working is maybe because of the phone rebooting from fastboot mode.
Hope it helped. [emoji4]

If Xperia Z3+ Dual can't be bootloader unlocked, what's the point in this kernel?!

[RECOVERY][F2FS][sturgeon] Unofficial TWRP 3.0.2-0 touch recovery [2016-06-08]

Unofficial F2FS-compatible TWRP for the Huawei Watch
Please note that to use this, your bootloader MUST be unlocked.
You can download the modified recovery image from here.
To flash this recovery, make sure that your watch is plugged into your PC, in fastboot mode, with all of the proper drivers installed (if applicable), then run the following command.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-f2fs-3.0.2-sturgeon.img
Now you should be able to reboot to TWRP recovery and use it like you would on a phone!
Sources:
Kernel source: https://github.com/r3pwn/android_kernel_huawei_sturgeon
Device tree source: https://github.com/r3pwn/android_device_huawei_sturgeon
Devs, please note that the device tree is designed to be built in a CM tree, not an Omni tree. If you are having some trouble getting TWRP into your CM tree, PM me and I'll help you out.
Below, you will find a link to an imgur album full of pictures I've taken of the watch in recovery mode, plus proof that this recovery has f2fs-compatibility.

Awesome. Been waiting for the 3.0.2 update. Thanks so much.
What are the benefits of f2fs on such a small device? The difference was noticeable on my Nexus 5 way back when... guess I should just try it out and see!

From what I've noticed, any lag that was there before is now gone completely, and eveything seems at least slightly smoother.
My phone gave repeated notifications that watch has disconnected, so I thought I would unpair and pair it. Watch decided to factory reset at Android side, which caused a TWRP boot loop. Ideas, other than flash_all in bootloader? Maybe there is a should-reset flag or similar indicator that Android sets that the recovery should unset?
So when I boot, watch goes to TWRP. No matter what partitions I wipe (excluding system), it will not boot to Android.

I flashed stock recovery, then rebooted watch and everything is ok. Flashed this TWRP back afterwards.
I don't fully understand the steps to take, but I want to try this because it looks really good.
do I have this right?
1 flash this twrp
2 wipe all partitions and internal storage
3 use this twrp to change all partitions to f2fs, or just data?
4 flash-all.bat the stock images provided by Google
could I flash skin1980's MM kernel afterwards?
thank you

This is TWRP recovery, not a ROM. Not sure where to point you as I don't know if watches are exactly the same across countries. There might be a good chance they are all similar, if so u can ask around in the general forums. There's also a developer preview of N with a return to MM link. But you should search around some more b4 doing anything.

In particular, I'd like to adjust the font for the file list when selecting a zip to install.

Enabled PIN on boot + disabled HTC keyboard = locked out

Yeah, that was dumb.
So, I disabled(uninstalled and moved apk) HTC keyboard a while ago.. been using Google keyboard just fine. Everything was fine, that is, until the reboot after enabling PIN on boot.
It starts to boot, stops and asks for PIN, but no on-screen keyboard shows.
Here's more info: I'm S-off, TWRP recovery is installed (and usable, an on-screen keyboard is included in TWRP, so I can decrypt okay). Reflashed kernel, no luck. (well, thats good news)
The HTC keyboard apk is probably still on the device, just moved to another folder.

Using my previous device, Motorola Droid Maxx. SIM fits either phone, luckily.
Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Maybe try a dirty flash of the ROM, if you're running one at all to restore the keyboard. Otherwise, I think you're stuck with having to restore a backup or factory reset.

Elemental X 0.06 kernel.

This will require SD. I think I have one. I'll let you know how it goes.

Sure...
from TWRP can't you transfer the file to internal memory instead of external sd?
sorry if missed out on any of the unavailability you mentioned

not sure i understand. the HTC 10 will not complete booting without the PIN. so i need SD to get the file in the device. TWRP recovery (in recovery mode) has no WiFi or LTE, right? so SD will be necessary to introduce the file, correct?

I think you also have the possibility to sideload something to the internal memory which will then be installed. Im still at work, but maybe that helps:

yes external sd or if you have an access to usb cable you could do it by transferring to internal memory from twrp directly...
or even sideload the zip file....
but if you think you could get hold of a sd that should do the job too
Try usb otg keyboard?

great idea, but all keyboards are packed. i need an otg cable anyway. still, this is much preferred to factory reset!
you should be able to just install it as system app.
So adb push some keyboard to /system/app
...actually since you can decrypt in TRWP, your data partition should be accessible...so you can just push it to /data/app to

[HOW-TO] How to SuperSU the Moto G5 Plus (Rooting Guide)

Hey guys,
Thanks to @vanche for the modified kernel and twrp recovery and @fayiaz for the guide on how to root and @Johny Cipel for the original guide and everyone else like
@topjohnwu
@santhosh
@abdyasar
For the original twrp, root and other stuff.
Now thats out of the way
Requirements:
-Unlocked Bootloader (Moto G5 Plus with offers from Amazon won't have unlockable bootloaders but if you buy the standard model from them then you'll be fine)
-Vanche's Modified TWRP from here (http://cloud.vache-android.com/Moto/potter/TWRP/twrp-3.1.0-0-potter.img)
- Vanche's Modified Boot Kernel from here (http://cloud.vache-android.com/Moto/potter/root/potter_boot_test7.img)
- Vanche's Wifi Patch because wifi will stop working after flashing the modified boot kernel (http://cloud.vache-android.com/Moto/potter/root/wlan_custom.zip)
- Chainfires Root http://download.chainfire.eu/1021/SuperSU/SR3-SuperSU-v2.79-SR3-20170114223742.zip
--- If you already have TWRP on your phone, the one by Santosh, you must flash the one made by Vanche or it wont work and you can just download the recovery image and flash it via twrp by toggling the flash zip button on the twrp recovery install menu.
1.. Download all the three files then boot your phone into bootloader mode by holding Volume Down + Power
2. Connect your phone to your PC and then open the adb terminal wherever adb is located open command prompt at that folder
3. Place the recovery image and boot image where the adb terminal folder is located
4. Fastboot flash recovery first and then boot into recovery at least once then reboot into bootloader fastboot flash boot the modified boot image.
5. Boot into the system (May take a while for the first time after flashing the boot image).
6. Place the wlan_custom.zip into your phones internal storage
7. Boot back into recovery and then flash the zip this time
8. Then download and flash the SR3 Super Su from above using recovery and you should have root!!
Safety net may break so if you wanna use Snapchat or any other apps that use safety net make sure you login first then root. You can't logout or else you'll have to unroot and log back in.

Did you correctly flash vanche TWRP and boot image? Because you're supposed to do that first and then flash the wifi zip..

The phone will wipe as soon as you unlock the bootloader so best to back up first.
Sorry but what's the differences beetwen this method and magisk?

Only the 'Prime Exclusive - With Offers and Ads' Amazon models don't have an unlockable bootloader, while the 'Standard Version' models can definitely be unlocked. You probably should clarify that or some will think that they can't buy from Amazon and unlock/root the phone.

Will do thanks
The "Magisk method" didn't give me privileges on /system, there are some things I can do and others do not, this method gave me full root access like in the other MotoG devices? And the safetynet check fails too?
Anyway thank you very much!!
What's going to be different than magisk root?

Do you think that will be fixed soon with a newer version of SuperSU, or some "root hider" apps? The idea of running a phone without root is absurd/offensive/rediculous IMO, but I don't want to be denied the ability to run certain apps because the developers have the rediculous idea that running without root should be "OK" to ordinary users? This idea is extremely offensive to me!!!
Guys, I wonder why the OP is "Account currently disabled"? I hate running without root, but, it seems a bit early and not all the problems have been worked out yet, such as TWRP not accessing SDCARD yet - I think I was a little premature buying my Moto G5 Plus as we don't really have "stable" release custom ROMs or fully functioniong TWRP and to even root we have to rely on some not well known sources for kluged files to make SU work?
