Verizon RCS Support, please read even if you don't have Verizon. - Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Guides, News, & Discussion

I have posted this in a few threads about RCS but figure it may start doing a little better having its own thread. I started a petition to see if I can help persuade Verizon to add proper RCS Support to their network. If you can please sign and share. I know it does not effect everyone, but even if Verizon is not you carrier and you are will to sign and share it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I don't think carrier support is required for RCS anymore. I just enabled it on my Verizon phone today when prompted by Messages app

Google went around carriers with RCS a while ago using Jibe.

Google Wallet now working on ALL Galaxy Nexus?

I just installed it from the Play Store on my unlocked Nexus on AT&T and everything worked. I now have the free $10 Google card. Before I'd get an error that it isn't available on my carrier.
Anyone with a Verizon Nexus confirm this?

It's been available for AT&T devices for some time now.
It's only available on the gsm ones and the sprint one. Not on Verizon.

I'm still having trouble on my T-Mobile GN. But maybe it's because it's using AOKP?

Same here. I'm running AOKP here as well.
Maybe only for stock ROMs at this moment?

Do you have stock rom? I'm curious as to seeing what happens if I create a prepaid card using stock rom and then nandroid back into AOKP and see if the account stays.

Stock ROM 4.0.4. Unlocked and rooted.
I don't suggest doing what you're trying to do, you might get the secure element error.

It's worked for me for at least a month on AT&T with an unlocked Galaxy Nexus. No error messages and no messages regarding incompatibility.
Unsurprisingly it is still not offered in the Canadian play store even though our merchants do support it.

Yes, you can do that. The account may disappear, but you can add it back. I've wiped my Wallet data many times at this point. AOKP and stock both work the same as far as I can tell.

Same here pretty much. I use H2O (an AT&T MVNO) and I was able to download and use Wallet the day I bought my Nexus at the end of January. In the Google Play store it shows up as an AT&T Nexus.
Oh, I should mention that mine is the NTT Docomo version. I heard that you might have to call in to activate it or something? Not 100% sure.

Blame Google. What happened to the speculation on an "early 2012" Google Wallet launch in Canada?
Still waiting

I was wondering the same thing although in my research to finding the cause to our problem, I read on some sites that it is due to the vulnerabilities and the ability to get into other peoples "wallet" via deleting the caches.
I'm on T-Mobile, AOKP.
Couldn't download before (carrier blah blah).
Just did it and installed.

Samsung Galaxy S3 video calling - please help

Hello all,
I have a Galaxy S3 I747M from Telus. I was wondering if there's any way to enable the video calling feature like its international variant?
Just to be clear: network video calling, not third-party apps like Skype or Fring.
Thanks
I also would like to know this. Google hangouts is getting me by, but I would like to see it in the dialer

Is there anyone out there who can help? I can see the video call icon on my friend's phone and it's driving me crazy.
Please help.:crying:
I've been waiting for this option since video callings existence..

dunno why its not on our phones
besides having the proper dialer app to make network video calls, isn't this also limited to your wireless carrier? i'm not 100% on this but i think you'd also need a video calling feature activated on your account with your network.

Heh heh, I was going to suggest the same thing. After all Google Talk is not technically third party to Android
It works great by the way.
Edit: that is strange that it's not on play...
Here's a copy of mine: http://db.tt/XyDQNMv4
Hmm I just noticed my rogers sgs3 doesn't have video calling either like the sgs2 did. I'll have to play around as I'm sure I saw it originally. Also you should note that most carriers charge per minute. I used it last year and it was 40 cents a minute when I could have just used google video chat or Skype !

Any ideas? i9300 has this feature, while i747m does not.
waiting for your inputs.
The S3 I9300 is an international phone that isn't restricted by the phone carrier issues we have in the states.
Will installing a custom ROM solve this problem? and if yes, which one?
Thanks.

Yes it will. I was testing different ROMs yesterday and seen it included into the dialer. Wannalite I think. Dont swear me to that.
Edit: Check that. Diet ICS is your ROMS. Cheers

WiFi calling on T-Mobile

Has anyone found any information on if the T-Mobile version will come with the built-in WiFi calling feature. I know it has been added to the HTC one, wondering if the gs4 would get the same feature.

Even my Vibrant (Galaxy S1) has it on T-Mobile so it's probably a safe bet.

Yeah but know they skipped it with the nexus 4 so I didn't want to assume, but idk if someone had heard word about something I hadn't.
The only reason the nexus 4 didn't have it was because it's supposed to be pure Google without carrier interference I believe. The s4 should have it as it's a tmobile phone, not a Google phone sold by tmobile (if that's a good way to put it)
Yes, it has wifi calling. even says so on the website.

WiFi calling works on any plan, if the phone has it. I dunno about mobile hotspot, I tried to turn it on and got a "you have to have this service on your plan" message. I think it's a separate thing you have to pay for, which is all the more reason to root&install an app from the play store that does it.

Thanks for the info. Mobile hotspot is more important to me but it might be moot since I'm ordering an att S4 to unlock and work with my tmobile sim. If it doesn't I'll return it and get the tmobile S4.

Let me just say this. I am an UNLOCKED phone user. Always have been. BUT here is where I got tired of the BS with data speeds and such. SO I took the plunge to a TMO branded device with the proper bands in it now.
I suggest doing the same for everyone who is NOT international frequently. It is just a waste. I want the 64gb version, but without the proper bands? Not willing to do that to myself AGAIN.

Will Project Fi work?

Will project fi work with the Oneplus 3? I'm assuming someone would need to give us a way to install the dialer?
If it did, you would be limited to a T-Mobile connection.
Is that because of the frequencies it covers?

Your bad but quite sure you have seen a video read a thread or maybe even heard a few people talk about if not Google is your friend.
APN set to h2g2 and you shouldn't have an issue. It won't do auto switching but if you send the CDMA or GSM commands it will switch.
*#*#34866#*#* for T-Mobile
*#*#34777#*#* for sprint
I do not have a OnePlus but I have used my project Fi sim on alot of other devices.
no - but you can use proj fi Data-only sim

Samsung cloud on vzw

Had anyone figured out hours to show the Samsung cloud on the Verizon variant?
I know it's there but Verizon has it locked out. Shortcut master shows it but does nothing with it.
Thoughts?
